RIP Frank Carson
I read today that Frank Carson, the comedian that some of us will remember from the Granada TV show, "The Comedians" passed away. It was the way he told 'em.
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Sad news, indeed. I remember Frank fondly from "The Comedians." I strikes me that we who lived in Britain in the 70s caught the very last gasp of traditional Victorian music hall comedy. Frank was a legend.
I agree. I bet that the Northern working men's social clubs that kept him, and Les Dawson, Bernard Manning, Russ Abbott and Charlie Williams in business just aren't there any more. You and I got to England in 1971, 26 years after WWII ended.
