Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

As we suspected, Fergie was resting several players on Thursday for this match.
Good morning BD.Good to have you back. I was thinking the same when I saw the lineup.
I'm on Link #2 here for the match:
http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/114078/2/watch-wolverhampton-wanderers-vs-manchester-united.html
The match is on FSC,but Chelsea vs Leicester kicks off 35 minutes after the match at Molineaux if you want to be on a link for that match.
Hey,
I am just home from Flag Football.
I'll be back.... loo time
The teams are out on the pitch and in terms of the United lineup it's business as usual or normal service has been resumed.
Good morning UWS. Enjoy your trip.Come back refreshed!
And we're off!
Thanks, mate. I'm onto FSC now. Feeling good to be back in the saddle with my laptop. US Air certainly had a 'mare on Friday. I only got my luggage back at 1:30 am last night.
There was nice minute of applause for Fabrice Muamba before the match. He's still listed in "critical condition" and appears to have suffered a heart attack.
My wife had the girls had a similar experience with Southwest Airlines last year when they flew up to Chicago for her nieces wedding. Sorry mate. Glad you have all your luggage.
Cheers, mate.
I heard that he had suffered a heart attack. That's what I had posted yesterday when he first went down. I also stated I hoped I was wrong. I wish I was.
I like the attacking line up
Good to see Valencia back
Woeful wolves have not scored in the first seventeen minutes of a match this season.History states that the will end up in the Championship.
DON'T LET THEM IN UNITED.!
Welcome back, UWS.Hoping for a United onslaught today.
Relatively slow start to the match here.
What a shame Rooney couldn't put that through
I really want United to wallop them!
Bloody hell
Rafael puts it across.... no one!
I watched the QPR series last night. You were spot on with your comments, UWS. Of course the Italians are no longer there. I wanted to add the Italians were unprofessional and jerks too.Evil QPR should become Stupid Idiotic QPR.
Oh - lovely move from United there where Valencia played Rafael in and his final ball was just too far ahead of Chicha.
The closest chance of the match as it is just wide by Raffa.
Would love to see that.
Glad you enjoyed it
Did you hear that Flavio call Warnock an idiot too cuz they didn't win and have a party
Doyle shoots straight at De Gea after a free kick from Jarvis was headed away.
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Still haven't had a chance to watch that series yet. Of course I'll be skipping the Warnock Years.
COME ON UNITED... SCORE!!!!!!!!
Oh - Carrick was teed up at the end of that move but shanked his shot wide left.
It is a great watch
Did you listen to the Fever Pitch interview?
I did - that was marvelous. I still remember reading that the first time. It really changed people's perspective.
I'll swap you Brian Kidd for Warnock.
It is a great watch and you should watch the Warnock Years or else the series won't make much Sense. He actually didn't say anything stupid; only the Italians did.
Fergie's got a pretty flower on his coat.
I see that Bolton's game with Villa on Tuesday has been postponed
Not so sure you want to do that. He didn't do so well in his only managerial stint.
Jarvis went down looking as he clashed with Rafael. Nothing.
I heard so many people say the the only person who came out of the show looking competent was Warnock
The right decision. I was not aware of that. Thank you for the post,UWS.
Oh - Fletcher should have got that on target as Jarvis lofted a dangerous cross over. Signs of alarm for United?
A great cross from Jarvis and Steven Fletcher just fails to make contact.
As I was listening to the interview I started looking at pictures of Highbury of today
BLOODY HELL... KNOCK IT OFF UNITED... STOP GIVING WOLVES A SNIFF
Carrick seems to want to shoot today. Wins a corner off a deflected shot.
I thought Bhatia was okay, but he was dealing with rude, Obnoxious jerks. The owners were complaining about incompetent managers, but seriously? Who expects to get to the EPL with the likes of Dowie and Magilton in charge.Sousa would have promoted them had the owners not interfered. He started the attacking football tactics at Swansea and Brendan Rogers came in to take them to the next level.
GOAL! Evans turns in an easy chance some two yards out.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JOHNNY EVANS!!!!!!!!
Nice pass by Carrick
COME ON... GET MORE!!
GOAL !!! 0-1 UNITED AS JONNY EVANS PUTS IN THE CORNER FROM ROON AND A GREAT PASS FROM CARRICK. WOEFUL WOLVES DEFENDING .
Easy corner routine. No Wolves defender picked up Carrick at the back stick, who just volleyed it back across for Evans to turn in.
0-1 United!
I agree with you about that Bhatia was okay... far better that Flavio who was the worst
The Sun just had an article about the other italian
Is Fever Pitch another video? I have not seen that.
I agree UWS. Paladini was a sidekick/muppet.They did appoint some awful managers that obviously would not take a team to the EPL.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4200470/Gianni-Paladini-I-was-stitched-up-over-QPR-film-The-Four-Year-Plan.html
Half way through the first half and everything going swimmingly for United so far. Four points up on the top of the pops.
The other Italian is Pladini
No, I sent a BBC radio interview... it must be on your email
Come on United... I want another two before half
We have some goals to make up on Citeh
Two misunderstandings in the Wolves defense nearly put United through again.
Dave sent out an audio clip of Nick Hornby talking about his memoir of growing up Arsenal "Fever Pitch." If you haven't read it, I'd highly recommend it, mate.
Also, it's been made into two films - one British one with Colin Firth and an American version by the Farrelly Bros. starring Jimmy Fallon as a mad Red Sox fan. The British one is better IMHO but the Fallon one is pretty fun too.
Hearts have just defeated Hibs 2-0 in the Edinburgh Derby.
Hearts are beating Hibs 2-0 in the Capital derby
I will definitely need to look at that one.
Oh Zubar really caught Roon late there. Picks up a yellow card for it.
That derby is now a final.
I like both movies. I agree that the English one is better.. I loved the movie. The American was good made better because they could change the ending because the Sox won their first World Series since 1918
Thanks to that Zubar foul United now have a free kick and a chance at goal, but they play it short.
Now Raffa fouls Doyle.
Now Wolves have a decent set piece as Doyle is blocked off by Rafa.
Come on Rafa... knock it off
United were all over them last season... gave away a goa... and then lost... COME ON
over and wide...keep it going Wolves
Fletcher shoots over from the free kick.
This link is working for the Chelski v. Leicester match at the Bridge:
http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/114098/3/watch-chelsea-vs-leicester-city.html
The teams:
Chelsea: Cech; Bosingwa, Cahill, Ivanovic, Bertrand; Meireles, Mikel; Sturridge, Mata, Kalou; Torres.
Subs: Hilario, Ferreira, Luiz, Essien, Lampard, Malouda, Drogba.
Leicester: Schmeichel; St Ledger, Morgan, Bamba, Konchesky; Gallagher, Danns, Wellens, Dyer; Beckford, Nugent.
Subs: Peltier, Howard, Marshall, Schlupp, Kennedy, Hopper, Smith.
Cheers for the link
I heard that Chelsea have made seven changes from the CL game.... they don't care about the Cup?`
Not liking this United.... you're giving them a shot
I see this link is on Plus... I have it not the TV... ain't changing it
Good to have BD back on the blog full time
FOUL THROW from a professional!
It looks as if the old codgers who came good against Napoli in mid-week - Drogs, Terry, Lamps - have all been rested. I'm a bit worried that Terry and Lampard's recent form might shove them back into the reckoning for England's 2012 squad.
Cheers, mate. It's good to be back.
I bloody well hope not
Useless pass from Rooney... he passed it right to Hernandez and not into space
I second that. It's great having you back and thanks for the link.
United win a corner off of Ward.
Useless short corner.
Fergie's working the gum over extra time this morning.
It sounds like a Chelsea reserve lineup after that extra time match and the Citeh match on Wednesday. well done Chelsea. great job great ready for Citeh We're off from the Crisps.
Leicester have been a real disappointment this season. They spent big in the summer and had Sven Goran Ericksson early on. This is really their last chance of anything this season.
A mad challenge from Zubar brings him a second yellow. A no brainer for the ref, despite Pleat's protestations. Wolves down to ten men.
Now Wolves is down to ten as Zubar has hi second yellow. He can have no complaints as he was really stupid.
Wolves down to ten men... could this make it harder for United!!
Why is Peter the Great at Leicester... oh as I type... son is the City keeper!
I ma back from a trip to the loo . I'm glad I didn't use the public water fountain!
Mata took too long to get a shot off there
Mata has a shot deflected for a corner as it is all Chelsea from the start.
Torres headed over from the corner.
Now Wolves has a corner.
Good hustle to get Wolves a corner... please waste it... thank you
YES!!
VALENCIA!!!
GREAT TO HAVE HIM BACK!!
Yeah, we flogged Schmeichel to Leicester this past summer. Oh course, Beckford is up front for them as well. Lots of LUFC interest there.
SCORE MORE!!!
Poor corner there and United immediately attack down the right through Valencia who scores from an acute angle. Great finish!
0-2!
GOAL!! 0-2 UNITED AS vALENCIA SCORED WITH A SUPERB FINISH.
Handbags between Stearman and Chicha.
0-3! Welbeck! Wolves on the end of a right hammering now!
YES!!!!!!!!
THERE'S MY THIRD GOAL BY HALF!!
WELBECK!!
5 more to catch Citeh in goals
What a ball there crossfield by Evans to Valencia. It gave him loads of time to pick out the free man.
GOAL !!! 0-3 uNITED AS vALENCIA CROSSED AND WELBECK FINISHED
Would you leave at half-time if you were a Wolves fan? This could get grisly.
United "favorites" to win the league
i KNOW wOLVES MADE A CHANGE JUST BEFORE THAT SECOND uNITED GOAL.
JB should have done better for Leicester
Half time... don't let up in the second half United!
Halftime and 0-3 to United
LOVELY JUBBLY!
Half-time whistle goes with boos ringing the ground from the home support. Wolves are up against it and on the bottom of the league now.
It's rare that UWS is happy at half-time. I suppose 0-3 is satisfactory then.
Cahill opens up his account for Chelsea... 1-0
Has a T-shirt for Muamba.... no yellow.. well done Ref
cHELSEA WIN A CORNER OFF OF kONCHESKY.
GOAL !!! 0-1 CHELSEA AS CAHILL SCORES HIS FIRST CHELSEA GOAL OFF THE CORNER FROM MATA . FAR TOO EASY AND PETER THE GREAT DOES NOT LOOK PLEASED.
I didn't see the t-short, but well done ref.
Three nil at half is pleasing but they are attacking the goal with pace... that's what I am liking.
I want to see them continue in the second half
Nearly a Chelsea second as Mata had shot cleared off the line.
About 3 Chelsea players could have scored there but a week shot at Casper
Opta Joe: "No team has ever beaten Manchester United in the Premier League after having a player sent off in the first half."
OF COURSE, I doubt any team has beaten United EVER when conceding three goals in the first half!!!
I guess Chelsea doesn't need their regulars to win this cup tie.
That is a nice touch from Cahill.
GOAL !!! 0-2 CHELSEA AS KALOU SCORES WITH THE EASIEST OF FINISHES. WHERE WAS THE DEFENSE?
Two nil for Chelsea... made by Torres scored by Kalou
Tie over
This is threatening to be rout.
Kalou notches #2 for Chelski and Leicester are right up against it.
Keep it up Chelsea... play like this midweek too
High and wide by Paul Gallacher.
I agree. Does this in midweek vs Citeh. A Gary Lineker siting in the stands.
Sturridge doing a Defoe and being a ball hog
Torres straight at the keeper from a header
Chelsea looking good.. I don't mind that happen for the next two games
I second that , UWS.
Second half away at Molineux... don't let up United!!
Each Chelsea player deserves a bag of crisps after the match. We're off from Molineaux.
Jonny Evans goal was Manchester United's 100th in all competitions this season
The table looks lovely... four points clear... and a Chelsea win on Wednesday?
Citeh have equaled United's consecutive home wins record..like to see that stopped too
Wolves are bottom now
Again, United need five more to get equal with goals
I can't see United going for that
I would too. COME ON CHELSEA!
Great job United!
Clever by scholes
Two or three more would be great.
Clean sheet please United
Seems that Welbeck has moved inside and Hernandez outside
A long day for Kasper!
I wouldn't be surprised by a Chelski win on Wednesday. Chelski are in form and Citeh are right off the boil.
well offside by Mata.
I hope so!!
The only problem is that the match is at Eastlands and Citeh have a 100% home record. Would love a Chelsea win.
Next week, United host Fulham on Monday night while Citeh visit Stoke
Poor by Beckford. He left his shooting boots at ER.
I will be at work for that so I may need to record that.
A defensive error from Gary Cahill and a good save by Cech from Neill Danns.
Useless pass by Roon. The corner from Gallacher was headed away.
It is better that Chelsea get the errors out of their system today than on Wednesday.
Kasper fials to prevent a cortner off a deflected effort by Mata.
Kasper fials to prevent a cortner off a deflected effort by Mata.
Hennessy saves well from a sharp Roon shot.
YES!!
HERNANDEZ!!!!!
I WANT MORE!!!
0-4! Chicha with an easy one.
GOAL !!! 0-4 UNITED AS CHICHARITO HEADS HOME.
I am skyping Tony right now
How did you feel about that short corner, UWS, as Rafa played a simple ball in and Chicha was unmarked four yards out.
A short corner was taken to Valencia, who passed for Raffa to put in a great cross.
I liked the short corner . It led to a goal.
Each team made a change, Pogba for Carrick and Michael Kightly for Kevin Doyle.
Pogba came on for Carrick
Oh - Roon nearly played Chicha in there!
Hennessey had done well to save from Roon that led to that short corner.
A shot from Gallacher is deflected off of Cahill for a corner.
0-5! Chicha with his brace!
HERNANDEZ FIVE
I WANT MORE!!!
THIS IS MORE LIKE IT UNITED!!
The Wolves chairman is not amused in the stands.
GOAL 0-5 UNITED AS CHICHARITO SCORES HIS SECOND.
Tony says hello
Valencia played a great one-two with welbeck then put in a great pass for Chicharito.
Say hello to Chelskilad. He's got to be happy with the way things are going at the Bridge.
Evra off replace by Fabio
Fabio is on for Evra.
I say hello to Tony too. How is he? He must be pleased with Chelsea today.
Chicharito wins another United corner.
Two minutes of stoppage time from The Crisps
Nice save De Gea... keep a clean sheet
Oh - rare attack that Twilight does well with.
Great save by De Gea off a deflected shot.
Again with another save
Half time at the Bridge
Halftime and 0-2 to Chelsea at The Crisps.
Welbeck in the book... come on United... keep smart
Sorry 2-0 at The Bridge. 86 the crisps!
BTW, I am confident that we are going to win this!!!
Free kick to wolves.Headed by Stephen Ward off the free kick.
COME ON UNITED!
For some reason I feel the same.
The Newcastle Norwich match is on Plus while the Cup match at Anfield is on FSC
Knock it off Wolves..stop attacking
all these goals and no goal from Roon
2-0 at half-time at the Bridge.
