Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

RIP Jack Taylor (1929-2012)

Jack Taylor - one of England's most venerable football referees - has died at the age of 82 at his home in Shropshire. Jack, seen here having a bit of a "chat" with Revie's finest, is probably best known for officiating the 1974 World Cup Final between Germany and the Netherlands and for having the bottle to give the Dutch a penalty within minutes of the kick-off after Cruyff was hacked down in the area. Jack was a top man.

I remember him well

West Germany, the hosts, hadn't touched the ball yet and he makes the call... of course... he fell for Brietner's dive as well!
