Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I'm back from my Tuesday morning class and settling in to enjoy the afternoon's matches, including a spate of Championship matches highlighted (in my mind) by Boro v. Leeds. It's our make-up match, so we'll need to take full advantage. MOT!
I will try and be home after school to get to the matches
Talk to you then
Teams out for an electric atmosphere at Celtic Park, the home support drowning out the silly CL anthem.
Hiya, Dave - TTFN.
Leicester City and Huddersfield has already started
The Terries took an early lead but the Foxes tie it up immediately
The teams for this afternoon's class:
Celtic: Forster, Lustig, Wilson, Ambrose, Izaguirre, Forrest, Brown, Wanyama, Mulgrew, Commons, Hooper.
Juve: Buffon, Barzagli, Bonucci, Cacares, Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, Peluso, Matri, Vucinic.
Leeds have kicked off at the Riverside - here are the teams:
Boro: Steele, Friend, Bikey, Woody, Parnaby, Carayol, Williams, Leadbitter, McEachran, Haroun, Main.
Leeds: Kenny, Byram, Peltier, Lees, Warnock, Brown, Norris, Green, Varney, Morison, Ross.
A quick start for Celtic - Wanyama hits an early one from range and Buffon nearly makes a hash of it.
The commentary track and the pictures seem out of sync. I'm hoping that FSC will sort that out soon.
GOAL! Marchisio! What a succession of mistakes at the back for Celtic!
Ambrose completely missed the header there and the keeper Forster was really casual as well as Vucinic nicked it past him. It was just about cleared off the line but Marchisio followed in by roofing it.
0-1 Juve - terrible start for the Hoops.
Oh - Marchisio was nearly in at the back post there. Ambrose is really struggling at this point. Real danger.
Now FSC's commentary track has gone all echoey. Lots of problems today for some reason.
Celtic look completely overwhelmed at this point.
Still 0-0 at the Riverside fifteen minutes in.
I am home
I see Celtic are behind at Parkhead on FSC
Shame
Welcome, Dave - yeah, a real balls-up in the opening moments of the match. Means an uphill battle for the Hoops. You know Italian sides are about protecting leads.
Handbags between Lee Peltier and Andre Bikey. Yellow cards all round. Still 0-0 at the Riverside.
Scott Brown is definitely leaving his mark on Pirlo.
More poor decision-making from Forster as Pirlo releases Vucinic. He rounded the keeper was at least forced wide.
Busy on the computer with school work. Game on behind me. I will comment but not as much as normal
Sure enough, mate - hope you're doing well today.
Got an SS link going
Oh - chance there for Kris Commons. Might have done better with the overhead.
Leeds should have had a goal
Ross Mac misses a big chance
Blackburn lead at Brighton
We're definitely making the early running. Varney had a chance as well.
This is a real play-off spot six-pointer, as Boro are currently in the last play-off spot in 6th.
I've just noticed that the Leicester v. Huddersfield match is an FA Cup replay rather than a Championship match. 1-1 right now, as you mentioned.
Good afternoon BD and UWS. I have a class starting in just a few minutes.I was busy doing bureaucratic paper work. I see Celtic trailing.
The Italians are pulling off a lot of niggly things now. The ref will have to intervene as the Scots are getting tetchy about it.
The winner host Wigan. That's football, not rugby!
Good - the ref is booking Lichsteiner for clearly blocking Lustig at the corner. The Juve player looks baffled as if he should be able to block a player.
He's still doing it! Send him off!
Oh - now it's Wanyama nodding over. Those set pieces are probably Celtic's best hope of getting back into it.
PSG lead at Valencia. Jeff's team and Pompey tied at 0-0. The same at the Riverside,
The Blades take the lead at Bury's Gigg Lane
Does Ryan know they're playing at his lane!
Afternoon, MUR - how are you?
The Blades take the lead at Bury
Afternoon MUR
Great. How are you, BD?
Good afternoon UWS.
Leeds still doing ok at the Riverside... still scoreless and having the best of the chances
I have a class getting ready to start. It was great chatting. I will see if I have a chance in the second half. CHEERS!
PSG are two up in Spain
Take care MUR
Doing alright, mate. I'm quite enjoying these Tuesdays. I have a long trek out to my class, which is challenging but I always give myself the afternoon off as something to look forward to.
Without Becchio, the goals have dried up predictably. Morison hasn't shown anything yet in his three matches.
Half time north of the border... Celtic are losing 1-0 but have done quite well since I have been watching
What do you mean a long trek to you class?
Half-time at Celtic Park - the home side will be unhappy to go in a goal down.
Teams are out for the second half
Walk On being sung loudly
I'm doing a site-based version of a class over in Jamestown - about an hour away - in an elementary school setting. Doing some supervision as well.
We're away in the second half at Celtic Park now.
Also started at the Riverside. Come on, you Whites!
Hull take an early second half lead at home to Derby
That's actually good for us; we've jumped to 10th now.
Cambridge are losing at home to Alfretown. Shame... they had been getting close to the playoffs
We haven't got that many attacking options off the bench, sadly. It's Michael Tonge or Aidy White as attacking midfielders, and then Spitty or new signing Habib Habibou who looked well off the pace on Saturday.
Still one one at the Walkers after two early goals in the Cup
Goal in the Cup... to the visitors
Huddersfield are 2-1 up with 15 minutes to go
The Blades are two up at Ryan's Lane
Goal at Brighton to the the Seaguls... 1-1 against Rovers
Celtic should have scored!
Open header but right at Buffon six yards out
Middlesbrough 0-0 Leeds (1945 GMT)
BBC Sport's Matt Newsum at the Riverside: "Middlesbrough have maintained the pressure on Leeds at the start of the second half but again the visitors defence has stood firm, with Lee Peltier on his toes to edge Mustapha Carayol as he looked to let fly. Boro boss Tony Mowbray is stalking his technical area."
I reckon Celtic are all but out of this tie at this moment. You know that Juve won't concede at home.
The bloke that missed the header is the same one that was at fault for the Juve goal
Thanks for the update, mate. Glad to hear our defending has been solid today.
Ambrose, right?
I'm fed up with Juve's cheating tactics.
Yup about Ambrose. Apparently, he only just came back from ACN victory with Nigeria today
Still 0-0 at the Riverside. Come on, you Whites!
Still 0-0 at the Riverside. Come on, you Whites!
PSG have a third goal disallowed for offside
Bit off the pace, then. Makes sense.
It would appear that PSG are home and hosed as well in their respective fixture.
"Leeds should have scored" according to Cottee
"Leeds should have scored" according to Cottee
Bugger.. two nil to Juve!!
More holding in the box by Juve players. I wish the ref would blow up for a penalty.
Bugger! Second goal for Marchisio and Juve.
Middlesbrough 0-0 Leeds
BBC Sport's Matt Newsum at the Riverside: "The Riverside is rocking, and only Leeds goalkeeper Paddy Kenny is keeping the roof from coming off with a string of terrific saves. He denied Grant Leadbitter's goal-bound drive and then kept out his diving header after a penalty-box scramble. My it's tense and the Boro fans and players know it."
Sick of these cheating bastards.
Sounds like we're barely hanging on now at the Riverside. Me no likey.
Still no changes from Evil Neil. What's he waiting for?
Refs need to call it!!
The Italians are the worse of complainers for fouls and they are always fouling!
Leeds have been on top for the ten minutes according to Cot
What time is it, mate?
The battle of the bottom is still scoreless between Hartlepool and Pompey
Pompey have lost like 8 in a row!
Huddersfield have beaten Leicester in the Cup
OH DEAR... BORO SCORE!!!
Dear oh dear - it's 0-3! Celtic over and out.
Bloody Hell... THREE NIL JUVE
Ambrose again
BUGGGGGGGEERRRRRR!
We've conceded in the 80th minute!
Did you miss my Boro announcement
We need a goal back quickly. Come on, the Whites!
You got it
Derby tie it up at Hull
Anelka coming on for Juve
Bradford in fine form before the League Cup Final
Three nil up at Wicombe
Actually, this will be their first win in seven matches
Boro down to ten men
Goalscorer gets a second yellow for a deliberate handball... only two minutes left though
Hull retake the lead against Derby
Cambridge now two down at home
Valencia get a goal back late on... still 2-1 down at home
Derby losing and now down to ten
Not good news for the College Towns
Oxford also losing at home like Cambridge
Come on, lads - take advantage of the man over!
Ibraamovic is off in injury time
Red Card!
Finally Evil Neil has thrown on Rudy Austin for David Norris and Spitty for Paul Green. Come on!
These return matches are in three weeks
PSG get their victory but lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic for at least the second leg
Hartlepool and Pompey end scoreless... not good enough for either team
Cambridge are three down!
Into stoppage time now at the Riverside. Come on!
Celtic limp off well-beaten by a cheating thuggish Juve 0-3.
no time for Cambridge to concede any more
No time for Celtic either 0-3... shame
Sorry mate
Boro wrap up their 1-0 victory
Hull won 2-1
I am off to my class
Talk to you tomorrow possibly
TTFN
Bugger - we've gone down 1-0 at Boro. We're now in 11th and 8 points off the pace with a wretched -7GD.
I'm off to throw some whites in the laundry mate. Cheerio!
