Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Happy 7th Birthday, LOB!

Lakenheath Old Boys, the project that I started in 2006 as I was recovering from an appendectomy, is seven years old today. In the last year, we've had reunions in DC and Harlingen, Texas - and lots of chatter about the Beautiful Game. Thanks to all of you who have kept it going strong all these years later.

The DayRoom!!
What memories!

Great job Bob and thanks for creating LOB!
How it has changed over the years!!The look has stayed the same but how we have covered our beloved game has change so much!!
Text and then audio and then that one International Saturday where video was discoverd! Our lives changed!
I had to leave for Tom's game that day but you guys WATCHED England struggle at half time against a minnow and then Joe Cole score two goals and England win!
The following Wednesday, I was at another of Tom's games as England won in Croatia 4-1!

I remember Bob's comment... "our lives have changed gentlemen"

Great job again!

Happy Birthday LOB! Well done,Bob. I would like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome since I joined just over three years ago.As Bob stated, great conversations, fantastic reunions. We don't just talk about the beautiful game, but we talk about anything.Great banter when we chat.Lob is a great support system too. .I think the minnow that UWS mentioned was Andorra because that was around the time Cap took charge of the England team. It's been a blast!
