The Wenger Cup Final... well two finals!
So, the long and winding road of another Premier League season is coming to an end. This day is usually filled with excitement at both ends of the table. Who can beat last year's fight for the title? I've tried but can't! This year everything is done and dusted for the Championship, everything is done and dusted for the drop, everything is done and dusted for the PPP title but there is one last thing to decide.
Who will win the Wenger Cup Second Runner Up? Citeh has already won the Cup, Chelsea second and the big two North London neighbors are fighting it out for the last runner up!
Arsenal travel to the Northeast to St. James' Park where the Magpies' owner has offered a million pounds to his non-playing staff if the beat Arsenal. Could that hurt Spurs if Newcastle are drawing and go for the win instead of getting a point.
Spurs host the rivals of Newcastle at home with a win a must!!
Of course, the CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND have a game today. A small matter of Sir Alex Ferguson's 1500th and FINAL game in charge of Manchester United... a win has to be on the agenda
Fox are showing a lot of matches at once today and ESPN have one
ESPN has the Newcastle Arsenal match
FSC has the Spurs Sunderland match
MSG+ has WBA Man Utd
Join me for all the festivities

Morning, UWS - Thanks for the excellent post. I'm really looking forward to this last hurrah of the season - and of course visiting you next weekend.
Morning Bob
Looking forward to it too
When are you planning to arrive?
I have a four day weekend next weekend. No school on Friday and Monday!
Brentfor, who missed out on promotion with a missed penalty and goal down the other end, are two down to Yeovil Town at Wembley
If the scores end up where Chelsea and Arsenal are dead even, a play off will be played at Villa Park on Sunday May 26th! Who will Citeh play at Yankee Stadium on May 25th??
I never understand why teams go on tours right after the season! Aren't they complaining everyone is tired? Then why travel... REST!
Speaking of rest, Rooney is resting today again!
SAF has said bugger you if you asked to leave United twice... you're not even on my bench!!
I'm done with facilitating a session on Friday at 1pm. How long is the drive from Utica? Two hours or so? Might grab a bite to eat after the session and then hit the road. Maybe get to you around 4ish? Does that work?
Roon is out the door, don't you think? Ferg said yesterday that Roon is Moyesy's problem now. How on earth did Roon allow that relationship to sour so badly. He's an idiot!
I think Utica is about an hour and half tops from here
Good morning, BD and UWS.I will be around for the action. I will watch West Brom vs Man United on FSN and Newcastle vs Arsenal on ESPN 2
A latest score:
Yeovil lead Brentford 2-1 in the L1 playoff final with about fifteen minutes remaining. If Yeovil hold on it would be their first time in the second tier of English footie.
Congratulations to League Cup Finalists, Bradford City. They sneaked in to a playoff spot thanks to a late run and defeated Northampton 3-0 in the L2 playoff final yesterday, just three months after that horrible defeat at Wembley. Congratulations to the Bantams for a deserved promotion to end a fantastic season.
Morning, MUR! Great to have you on board for the last match day of the Premiership season. Any predictions?
I'm on to a First Row link for the Gillette Soccer Special for some build up.
Yeovil have completed their win over Brentford.
Morning MUR
I am busy getting my stupid APPR evidence binder all set for this week!!
I will be around for the matches
Not sure how I am going to watch. The United match doesn't mean anything but it is SAF's last match!!
I think I may have the two meaningful games on the telly and SS on the computer with United's match in the background!
So here's the most important materials from top to bottom:
Premiership:
Champions - Man United
Relegated - Wigan, Reading, QPR
Championship:
Champions - Cardiff
Promoted - Hull and either Palace or Watford
Relegated - Peterboro, Wolves and Bristol City
League 1:
Champions - Doncaster Rovers
Promoted - Bournemouth and Yeovil Town
Relegated - Scunthorpe, Bury, Hartlepool and Portsmouth
League 2:
Champions - Gillingham
Promoted - Rotherham and Port Vale
Relegated - Barnet and Aldershot Town
Champions
The build-up has started on ESPN2 now - lovely jubbly. I'll be watching Newcastle v. Arsenal on the box and dialing up Spurs v. Sunderland on the laptop.
Hello BD And UWS. Well done Yeovil as they will play in the Championship for the first time in their history. Spare a though for Brentford who could have won automatic promotion on the last day of the season vs Donny, but missed a stoppage time penalty then Donny scored and were promoted as Champions. Perhaps the Bees can win promotion next season
My predictions are that Chelsea , Arsenal ,and Spurs will all win their league matches and that a playoff for third place will not be necessary next Sunday at Villa Park.
RVP - #1 goal of the season there on FSC.
Fergie's FINAL SIDE!!
Man Utd: Lindegaard, Valencia, Evans, Jones, Buttner, Anderson, Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa, van Persie, Hernandez. Subs: De Gea, Evra, Ferdinand, Giggs, Vidic, Scholes, Januzaj.
LINE-UPS - Tottenham v Sunderland (1600 BST)
Tottenham: Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Dawson, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Parker, Huddlestone, Dempsey, Bale, Adebayor. Subs: Friedel, Naughton, Defoe, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Holtby, Caulker.
Sunderland: Mignolet, Colback, O'Shea, Cuellar, McClean, Larsson, Vaughan, N'Diaye, Johnson, Wickham, Graham. Subs: Westwood, Marrs, Mandron, Knott, Mitchell, Ferguson, Harrison.
Referee: Andre Marriner (W Midlands)
How many of those United players will be in Moyesy's first squad for the start of the 2013/14 season?
I'm guessing -
Starting XI - Evans, Vidic, Carrick, RVP.
Subs - Lindegaard, Jones, Cleverley, Giggs.
I still think that the Suarez goal off the chest against Newcastle was the goal of the season - didn't even make the Top Ten!
Macca is correct - it's been a weak season in the Premiership because of the lack of quality among the sides below the top six or seven.
Liverpool have really missed Suarez! NINE GOALS IN TWO GAMES!!
Teams in the tunnel now at Shite Fart and SJP.
I have turned it over to the United match as the teams about to come out
Yeah, UWS. Because of that, Pool may decide to shop the Little Biter this summer.
Found a link for United
WBA making a Guard of Honor
Side comes out first... Fergie will be last
Here he comes
Nice round of applause by everyone
I am back in time for the matches. I will be watching United on the telly on FSN
My link is exactly the same as the TV
Now switching the tellie to the other two matches
Spurs gets started first
Spurs kick off at Shite Fart. Still looking at line-ups at SJP - either ESPN2 is behind or the match is.
Newcastle get us underway - about 50 seconds between the two matches.
About 45 seconds behind Spurs are Arsenal
Will they behind in points as well
Somehow I have the feeling that Arsenal will miss out today and that Wenger will get the sack in the summer.
BLOODY HELL! FSN NOT SHOWING UNITED BU A RACING SHOW!I switched to FSC. My Gilette soccer link is not loading.
It's Fergie time one last time... THEY ARE THE LAST TO KICK OFF!
Away we go... COME ON MAN U COME ON MAN U COME ON MAN U
Scrappy start at SJP.
FSC having trouble with their sound.. sounds like someone eating some salt n vinegar crisps
Are you the only one on the planet watching United today, UWS?
LOL - How can you tell what flavor the crisps are, UWS?
Newcastle have let in NINE goals without reply in their last two home matches!
Harp0er with a near post save from Ade.
Tiote goes in with a cynical chop there on Rosicky. should get a card but it's a wee bit early.
Another corner for Spurs as Mognolet completely missed it
CLOSE! - Liverpool 0-0 QPR
What a start for Liverpool - who think they've scored right from kick-off. Philippe Coutinho wins a header from a corner, the ball appeared to cross the line but it was cleared. Was that in?
John O'Shea clears the next corner as Theo shot over
Theo tries a pop - a bit ambitious.
Meanwhile Spurs have had a lot of possession and several corners in a row.
Villa take the lead
Daren Bent with the goal
No goals yet in the Prem - boring, boring, boring.
ooh, just over the top by Cisse
YES!!
ONE NIL... KAGAWA!!!
OH! Just over from cisse.Great cross from the left and poor defending from Merte
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!
Chelsea take the lead
GOALS ALL OVER THE PLACE!
jUAN mATA GIVES cHELSEA THE LEAD VS weVERTON
Juan Mata has fired Chelski into the lead against Everton in Moyesy's and Rafa's last match in charge.
I have a Premier League simulacast, but all I've seem are the matches on my telly.
Am I right now that Chelski and Arsenal cannot draw now? Whatever happens, there will not be a playoff?
TWO Nil UNITED
OG
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
UNITED LEAD 0-2 AT THE HAWTHORNS. IT LOKED LIKE A JONAS OLSSON OG OFF A CROSS FROM VALENCIA
This is what Untied needed to do for Fergie's Swansong
Wide by Kos.
Who needs Rooney!!!!
Send him to the continent... not to London
The way the scores are right now... Yankee Stadium will be pleased!
I heard that there will be a playoff if necessary. It will be at Villa Park next Sunday if necessary
Ian makes an oblique reference to Sunderland's problems with "going on holiday." Apparently Phil Bardsley tweeted a pic of himself lying on a stack of money in a casino pissed off his head. He's "not available for today's game" as a consequence.
Actually, Arsenal would be third on goals scored. a 2-1 win is needed , not 1-0
Weak effort from The Toon
Where are you worried that Roon will go - Chelski?
Everton tie it up at the Bridge. Not sure who scored.
Everton are all square... Yankee Stadium nervous again
Chelsea still in third.Arsenal need to win to have any hope of third and win by two or 3-2 to force a playoff.
I don't think it's possible now that Chelski have scored. It had to be a Chelski v. Everton draw at 0-0 and an Arsenal 2-1 win here at SJP. Everton have just equalized but even if Arsenal win 2-1 here, Chelski would go through third on goals scored, right?
When Chelsea were leading Yankee Stadium should have been pleased. because it's if Arsenal; are winning that Yankee Stadium would be nervous.
Naismith with that Everton equalizer.
Yes that is correct Bob. As things stand it would be a playoff if Arsenal win 3-2.
When is that Citeh v. Chelski match at the Meadowlands?
Jonas down injured for the Toon.
It's next Saturday after the CL final. I think 5:30 PM EDT
I think Citeh and Chelsea play twice on in the U.S. Once at the Meadowlands and once at another venue.
Bale dives for a pen and gets a yellow... it was a dive!!
Maybe a push in the back slightly but...
1619:
Statisticians Opta: "46 - Man Utd's second goal at West Brom is the 46th own goal of the season, a record in the Premier League. Gifts."
Bale booked for a dive. I thought it was the right decision, but looking at the replay it looed a foul by ex Gunner , Seb Larsson. Spurs have every right to be upsaet
i think it is at Yankee Stadium
Lovely - another one for us to watch Chez Nocito.
Wigan tie it up
Not exactly something the Prem wants to brag about, but good reporting.
Bale's reputation hurt him there
Why on earth would they be playing in a baseball stadium in the middle of the MLB season?
Jonas booked for the Toon.
Fulham score in Wales
Goals almost everywhere except the two big games
Pool take the lead against QPR
Coutinho
Chelsea and Citeh play next Saturday at Yankee Stadium and they play again on a future date. IS the second match at the Meadowlands. If so, when?
QPR looking to win the wooden spoon today
Decent effort by Fatty.. saved
comfortable save for Mignolet from Assio-Ekotu
I would doubt them playing in the NY area twice!
DC sounds familiar
Merte heads wide off the free kick from Theo
Oh - Theo whips in a free kick and Mert flicks it wide of the mark. Should have been a corner off Coloccini.
West Ham take the lead against Reading
Kevin Nolan gives the Hammers the lead vs Reading
The Canaries take the lead at the Etihad!!
I'm going down to DC on June second to see the US v. Germany match - I believe it's at the stadium in Maryland where the Redskins play now.
3 games still scoreless... the big two and at St. Marys
Gouffrhan wins a Toon corner.
Cisse does well and earns a corner. Arteta has a problem so The Ox is going to replace him.
The corner is easily cleared.
Arteta off injured...the Ox replaces him
FSc is level on time with the link. Well done
Wenger looks arsed off as usual. I do without seeing his frowny mug again next season. Gooner and Dad feel the same way. They want Klippety Klopp.
Citeh tie it up
Rodwell
Half an hour in and neither Spurs nor the Arse look like scoring - no real chances as of yet.
Darke says last Prem broadcast... sadly
Just over by Ake for Chelsea as the Toffees failed to clear
Ian says it's their last Premiership broadcast - does ESPN2 not have matches next season?
Great save by Lloris from close range as Spurs could have fallen behind.
Oh - Gibbs does really well to find space on the left and then to find Caz who shanks his shot into the stratosphere.
THREE NIL!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
UNITED THREE UP AS BUTTNER SCORES HIS FIRST UNITED GOAL IN SAF'S LAST MATCH.CLEVER ASSIST FROM CLEVER BOY
Bakari, Bakari, Bakari Saaaagnaaaaa....he comes and goes, he comes and gooooooesss.
(to the tune of "Karma Chameleon")
Great save by Timmy from mata and Torres is booked for a foul on an Everton break
Oh - Bale has a chance but scuffs his shot badly - then tries to claim a penalty for a handball. Nothing doing.
THis is how United should have been playing all season!!
West Ham double their lead
Are the Baggies just throwing in the towel?
NBC networks have exclusive rights to all 380 Prem matches
Starting next season, UWS?
McClean booked for a foul on Fatty as Spurs have a free kick
37th minute.. fans clapping at SJP for their keeper Harper
WOW! nOT EVEN IAN AND MACCA?
He's holding back the tears!
Steve Harper is getting a nice round of applause on his last day in goal for Newcastle.
gREAT SAVE BY mIGNOLET OPFF A bALE FREE KICK
I don't remember ever watching any footie on an NBC channel - I wonder who they'll use as their team/s?
I would applaud Harper. He's been loyal to the club despite being a career back up. Refreshing/
how did Spurs miss... looked like Bale was going to put that in... backheader by O'Shea... it was saved
Oh - Hatem Ben Arfa nearly broke Arsenal hearts there but then crashed his shot well over.
Nearly the lead for spurs as Mignolet pushed away a poor back header from O'Shea as Bale was about to pounce.
Yes, next season. I remember Bob Costas announcing it during Sunday Night Football
A little worried what channels they are going to put it on
Citeh 1 Norwich 1 . I don;t even remember the first goal
I would think the Sunday's main match will be on NBC Sports
There is CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo
Olympic channels
WBA JUST SCORED
Poor Chelsea defending off an Everton corner as they struggle to clear.
High and wide by Lampard
Ian mentions that Wenger's main target for the summer in Montenegran striker Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina. He's been an excellent addition.
Thanks UWS. I don;t watch NFL matches, so you did clear up things.I would think that it would be on those channels.
I am not familiar with him, but Arsenal need some improvements.
I'm more concerned about who they're going to use as commentators and presenters. Hope it's not Costas - he doesn't football for toffee.
He's the one who's been rattling in the goals for Montenegro in World Cup qualifying.
Poor by Tiote. He fouls a player then yells at the player he injures. Two minutes of stoppage time at SB
Also two minutes at SJP
And two minutes at WHL.
Nice WWII reference from Ian - first half has been a Phony War." Phony War - first six months of WWII after the invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939.
half time at the lane
Nil nil
Halftime and 0-0 at WHL.
Halftime and 1-1 at SB
Goalless at St Mary's too
Scoreless at SJP too
Half-time at Shite Fart - 0-0.
And now at SJP - 0-0. This could go down to the wire.
Also 0-0 at the half at SJP
WBA almost get a chance...nice defending by Lindy
It's as you were prior to kickoff. A dramatic finale to the season?
Wgan take the lead
BUGGER!!!!
JIM MORRISON SCORES FOR WEST BROM
45 minutes left for SAF
An accurate description from Ian. Will the second half be the same./
Back to NBC talk
I know that some lady from ESPN UK is coming over to host
The first Citeh Chelsea match is Thursday
I an said that Chelsea and Citeh play Thursday . It will be on ESPN 2 . Kickoff at 8:30 PM EDT. Will anyone be around for that?
That was a shaky end of the half for United... if Evans didn't make that challenge it would have been 3-2
The Wigan goal was an OG, so extend the Prem record to 47 in a season. A poor record to break
Just saw Mata's goal... not good by Timmy
The last Fergie halftime talk. It will not be pleasant.
Why do teams go off and play friendlies now!!
I KNOW.. MONEY
Jeff and the crew in B&W. I don't have volume, so what was it about? Glad to see Phil Thompson with masking tape on his mouth
Season Funnies on SS
Correct, UWS. Does it have anything to do with the fact their poor CL form led to lost revenue?
Will anything happen at the two big ones
Teams on their way out at SJP
Ready to go at WHL as well
A commercial for Newcastle Brown Ale read " No Bollocks." U am sure Gooners will disagree.
The second half is underway from, SB
Looks like the dead heat is not going to happen
The match at SJP has to end 3-2
Crouchie scores early at St. Marys
The big two matches are the only ones without goals!
Now underway from SJP.
Crouchie gives Stoke the lead at St. Marys. OINK OINK!
Spurs almost in... a cross just missed two players running in
Great save by Timmy from Cahill off a corner and great save by Harper after an initial poor clearance by the retiring keeper.
Back from doing some dishes. It seemed like that half time flew by!
United finally get us started at the Hawthorns
Moyes has never won away to the big four while at everton.
THAT BETTER CHANGE NEXT SEASON!
Coleman heads out a cross from Mata for a corner taken short and everton break
Sunderland have chance well saved by Lloris
Hair Bear shot right to Cech. easily caught
Fergie only just getting back to his bench
Spurs was a pen... not given
That should have been a pen!!
He dove and spread his arms out!
GOAL... ONE NIL ARSENAL!!!
GOAL !!! 0-1 GUNNERS AS KOS DIVERTS A FREE KICK IN FROM THEO AS MERTE HEADED ON.
GOAL! Huge goal there for the Arsenal - but a jammy one. Koz with the finish!
WHL is silent!
