Protests in Brazil Cast a Shadow Over WC Preparations
The protests continue throughout Brazil as an accompaniment to the Confederations Cup matches this week. There are a multitude of issues at stake (e.g., ticket prices, police behavior); however, as you can see from the V for Vendetta-style Guy Fawkes mask on the protester above, this week's events are a continuation of indignado/Occupy oriented campaigns around income inequality and globalization. Several of the current squad, including David Luiz have come out in favor of the demonstrations. Your thoughts, gents?

I have read about the protests and they are supposedly about multiple issues , but I think they all boil down to anger over inequality , government corruption, inflation, and price gouging at Feds Cup/ World Events at the expense of the local populous, whom for the most part are in dire poverty. Sepp needs to shut out and learn about empathy.
I've heard from some of the Brazilian kids we've hosted and it's bad in Brasilia. My friend Thiby was gassed outside the stadium. Those of his group that didn't then disperse got clubbed down by the police. It's really got me having 2nd thoughts about going next year. Bob, have you heard from Wilker yet?
