Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Accrington Stanley and Pompey have taken Desmond home for dinner in the early match. Pompey were one down and two one up before Des showed up
I have a SS link going but it is very jumpy to start!
Test Match update
England all out for 238
Australia 119-4
If got SS on the computer and the Test Match on my iPhone
I do have to go off to Sandalwood for a tick
I'll be back
Good morning UWS. The teams are out on the pitch in Helsinki, Finland as Citeh vs Arsenal is about to begin.
I am back
Morning MUR
Looks like a full strength lineup for both teams.
Good morning UWS. I don't know if you get BEIN , but you might be able to get a link for this match
Citeh vs Arsenal is underway from Helsinki.
I don't get BEiN... I am just going to watch SS though
Very annoying today though... pausing all the time!
Teleprinter working this week so far
Citeh nearly take the take the lead as Negredo slips while trying a back hell. He was flagged offside but the replay shows he was level.
All Forest at Ewood Park
Sorry to hear about SS. Not sure what to make about the Desmond result. A vital point gained or was it a must win in a relegation six pointer?
Kick off delayed at Molineux because of crowd congestion
Citeh with nearly 100% of the possession! The yank announcer mentioned that Gooners were chanting in the stands.
Jeff still thinks the teleprinter isn't working this week too... Hartlepool losing at home to Southend
I just saw that they had an early link for the match at Accrington Stanley. Did you watch it?
No I didn't
GOAL !!! THEO GIVES THE GUNNERS THE LEAD ON THEIR FIRST ATTACK OF THE MATCH
Today is Bobby Robosn National Day of Football
Minute applause at Portmand Road for him
I AGREE.
Plymouth one down at home to Fleetwood
They're now down two nil!
It was a nice through ball from Kos as Theo got behind the Citeh defense and beat Hart with a great finish. Clichy , the former Gunner beaten for pace.
Just over by Milner with a powerful effort then Arteta straight at Hart
Watford take the lead at home to Bournemouth
Could Argyle vs Pompey and vice versa be relegation six pointers
If Argyle lose then Bob will probably not be singing any Fleetwood Mac songs during karaoke night.Your thoughts?
What do you make of Rooney? He is now telling teammates that he will be joining Chelsea!
What right does he have? I don't think we should sell him to a Prem team... especially Chelsea! Just let him sit in the reserves!
Nearly level as there was a horrible misunderstanding between Kos and Seudio as Kos as both missed the ball and a bicycle kick by Negredo was cleared off the line.
Brighton take the lead at home to Derby
Wolves have taken the lead at home to Gillingham... why was there crowd congestion for this one?
Roon owes it to us to give 100% for us on the pitch. He is typical of some of these modern footballers who are in it for the money. If we sell him to Chelsea we might as well mail the them the BPL trophy.
You stated that there was crowd congestion at Molineaux. Wolves first goal of the season.
I can't stand it that he wants to force a move.... what a contract you signed!
I hope United hold their ground
If Argyle lose to Fleetwood, then Bob should boycott Mac N' Cheese as a matter of principle.
Me too.If he plays in the reserves long enough or even the youth team then perhaps he will be hungry enough to go back to the first team/
The Conference starts today
The Fake Dons take the lead vs Crewe.
Cambridge don't play until tomorrow against Halifax
Correct UWS. I forgot about that. Your favorites for promotion to the Football League?
Should be a decent match. Both reformed Chester and Halifax have worked their way back and may be my favorites to go up. Should be an interesting match tomorrow.,
Nearly a second for the Gunners as a long range effort from Sagna came off the outside of the post and out for a goal kick.
Bradford City two up vs Carlisle United. They won't have a repeat trip to Wembley as they lost to Huddersfield in the Capital One Cup in midweek.
Crowd congestion??
They just went to Molineux... it's bloody empty
Derby tie it up at the AMEX
I guess it will be Come on you Uniteds tomorrow.
Northampton are beating Newport 1-0 at home... I thought Coventry had a home game this week
We better get Moyes' first ever trophy tomorrow!
A Seudio makes a close range save from Jerko off a superb through ball from Silva.
COME ON MOYES'S BOYS
Bolton take the lead at the Reebok against Reading
They are undefeated at home this calendar year
Coventry host Bristol City tomorrow morning
Bradford City three up vs Carlisle United. Consecutive promotions for the Bantams.
The Cherries tie it up against the Hornets
I agree with you about the Charity Shield. We were pure crap in Rio's testimonial yesterday. Leeds play at the Foxes after the Charity Shield is over.
Coventry do play at "home" this weekend. They 'host' Bristol City tomorrow!
Sharing a ground and they are on the same weekend home game games!!
The Hornets were stung!
Who is sharing a ground with whom????
Burnley take the lead at Hillsboro
Let's have THREE United wins tomorrow!
Cambridge followed by Manchester followed by Leeds
Tamworth take the lead at Salisbury Steak. I was looking for an excuse to use that one.
Coventry's owners are being idiots with the Ricoh Arena.
The League have given them permission to play at Northampton for something like THREE years!
It is like 40+ miles away!
I agree.
COME ON ALL YOU UNITEDS!
QPR dominating at Huddersfield but fall behind
Just checked me National Geo map of the UK. About 25 miles from Coventry to Northampton. Coventry in administration too with minus ten points.
Just read that it is 34 miles from ground to ground
Forest Green Rovers four up vs they are on a "Hyde" to nothing.
Burnley two up at Wednesday
Surely a reaction by the owners to their financial situation. If it is all motorway then it is not an excessive trip, but I agree it is not in their local area. I have travelled much further for various reasons.
Wolves two up vs Gillingham. Kenny Jackett must have let them have it after that horrid showing at Morecambe and wise.
I think there is talk that a lot of fans are showing up at the Ricoh at game time and not many making the trip
The stadium in Helsinki is just a few blocks from the opera house. which team will be singing a winning tune. I would love to hear an opera tune from JHJ.
Several thousands are expected to attend a legends match at their former home, the Ricoh Arena, instead of travelling to see Coventry take on Bristol City.
It is understood that the club have sold a mere 1,000 tickets for the Sky Bet League One clash on Sunday, a game that marks the first since leaving their former home following disputes over rent with the stadium’s owners, despite the fact that Coventry have laid on free coach travel.
Spokesman for the Sky Blues Trust Jan Mokrzycki said: “Most people will be making their protest by going to the charity game at the Ricoh rather than going to Northampton. We want to send a powerful message in a legal and lawful way.”

Wolves are three up against Gils
It's an odd decision, but must be for evil financial reasons. This once great club is going into decline and undoing all of Jimmy Hill's great work
QPR have tied it up at Hudds
That explains it. They can't pay the rent and why would they be able to if they are in administration. A sad decline.
Arsenal lead Citeh 1-0 at the half.
Bob will be pleased to see the Blades have been stung as the Bees Knees of Brentford are one up.
Tractor Boys goalless at Portman Road... Mick McCarthy won't be happy. He used to play and manage the Lions
Yeovil vs Brum is 0-0 at the half in a preview of their Capital One Cup match in two and a half weeks.
That's correct. One of their all time greats along with Teddy Sheringham during their glory days in the late 80s.
A busy day on BEIN . Liverpool vs Celtic on immediately after this match. Spurs vs Espnayol on at 9 PM.
The Gunners with some changes as Flappy is on for fellow Pole, Seudio and Carzola has just come on.Nasri and Jesus Navas have just come on.
Micah Rocahrds on for Zaba
Olivier Giroud the final sub checking in as the second half is underway on a pleasant evening from Helsinki.
Derby take the lead at Brighton
A lot of guys picked Brighton to go up
I didn't because they got rid of Poyet
The Gunners defense caught out as Negeredo failed to chest down a nice long ball from Richards and Flappy di well to come out on pounce on it
I did and feel a bit of fool , but it's still early doors.
Yeovil fall behind to Brum
Young Fergie 2-1 up at Notts County
Yepvil and Brum meet on the League Cup in two and a half weeks.
The CL draw was made yesterday and Arsenal have a tricky two legged affair vs Fenerbache in a week and a half.
BUGGGER! My sttellite is down to our first rain in nearly in a month!
Reading get a penalty at the Reebok
PHEW! It's back on.
Paul Robinson on the panel... Mr. Monotone!
Reading tie it up from the spot
The message had stated to remove obstructions such as falling tree branches, severe rain, or heavy snow. Can you help with the rain problem?
UW 2-1 up vs newly promoted Bournemouth. Crawley make it Desmond at Tranmere.
Watford 3-1 up.. I missed their second
Young Fergie now 3-1 up at Notts County.
Can you help me remove heavy rain?
GOAL !!!! 2-0AS RAMSEY PUTS THE GUNNERS 2-0 UP VS CITEH
Sorry... only snow!
THe Blades tie it up at the Bees
Nice long possession from the Gunners. A nice one two between THeo and Carzola before Theo puts Ramsey through , then he rounded Hart for a nice finish. The reverse of the first goal as the Citeh back four were sliced apart
Not nice, UWS. The satellite went out again for the same reason.
The satellite is back up.It was out for only 60 seconds and while it was out Olivier Giroud put Arsenal 3-0 up as that must have been two goals in two minutes from the Gunners
Barnet two up vs Chester , Aldershot take the lead at Grimsby and on to a real hiding as Forest Green lead Hyde 5-0.
STRUTH... THREE NIL!!!
I hope this means something... of course... last night meant nothing!
Poor form , UWS. I thought you would help a fellow Man Yoo fan. I missed the third Arsenal goal. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaather Evil!
Goal at Portmand Road... for the Lions
The Bees retake the lead against the Blades
Arsenal three up, but strangely enough it has been a fairly even match. Just that Citeh have been sliced apart and Arsenal have been clinical in front of goal.
Wait a minute... the teleprinter says it is Ipswich take the lead... OG from Millwall
MIck will be pleased as the youngsters now come on in the match at Helsinki.
I have Ipswich taking the lead.
Watford make it 4-1...one of my promotion teams!
The BBC confirm Ipswich's goal
Citeh vs Arsenal means nothing as it's a preseason tournament from Helsinki. The following match is Liverpool vs Celtic .UW lead Bournemouth 4-1.Bradford City four up vs Carlisle.
I picked UW too. Young Fergie 4-1 up at Notts County.
If the scores stay the same, only Watford, Wigan, Leeds and Leicester have 100% record
Watford the only to have played two games
Bob said you and your sons sent the picks at the eleventh hour. Will there be plenty of banter in October?
Something hast o give tomorrow at The Crisps.
Nearly a fourth for the Gunners as OLivier Giroud has a goal disallowed for offside. Nicec ross from Theo and just barely offside.
Plenty of banter!
Jenkinson on for Sagna and American teenager and DC area resident , Gideon Zelalem, on for the Ox.
Goal at the Valley... to Boro.... they sure need this win
Lost their first home game in the league and in the League Cup
All in good fun of course.
Ipswich double their lead
Millwall have been the better side this half
Wednesday get a goal back against Burnley
A real hiding as Forest Green lead Hyde United 7-0. Surely there must be a comment for that .
Robinson is just Mr. Cardboard on the panel... get him off
Zelalem actually not eligible to play for the U.S. as he has not lived in the DC area long enough. Born in Ethiopia and spent most of his childhood in Germany. Gooner expects him to play for Germany
GOAL !!!! NEGREDO SCORES A CONSOLATION FOR CITEH WITH A GREAT FINISH ASH E HAD JUST FLAPPY TO BEAT
Bees extend their lead against the Blades
BD will be pleased
BRentford now lead the Blades 3-1.
Forest Green have scored #8
Hyde are getting a Hyding!!!
Jack Rodwell had just come on for Fernadinho and off a throw it was a nice thorugh ball from Nasri, but poor defending from Kos , who was too easily outmuscled by Negredo in a shoulder charge before slotting the ball past Flappy.
Wolves are not doing as well as Forest Green but they are 4 up against the Gils
What's the score in Helsinki?
Wolves four up vs the Gils. They should do this every week. Crawley 3-2 up at Tranmere.
Arsenal 3-1 up vs Citeh in the 83rd minute.
Brentford miss another pen... they don't like them much after last season's heartbreak
ta
Nice punch line about Hyde. The person who thought about that should be a professional comedian.
YES I SHOULD
Ipswich three up
I wonder if Gooner will be pleased or just look at it as a preseason match.
Just preseason I think!
Are United going to bring in anyone?
NO I SHOULD! I mentioned three times prior, if you look at the previous comments.
Northampton three up vs Newport County. The same for the home team at that ground tomorrow?
Did you really? I completely missed them. I thought I came up with that myself!
You did!
Watford five one up
I don't think United are bringing in anyone unless they can get Baines or Hair bear. Moyes cannot attract players like SAF could.
Scary
Stoppage time in Helsinki.
NOTts County pull one back vs Young Fergie but still 4-2 down.
Goal at Ewood... to Forest
Could be another 100% side
Happy looking Gooners as the ref blows the final whistle and Arsenal win 3-1.
Well done Arsenal... keep it up Citeh
Should be a winner for Forest as it's in stoppage time./
Goal at Blackpool.... the host takes a lead against Barnsley... another 100% team
Watford hit Bournemouth for six
I heard that Hyde United are about to sign a new player. His name is Jekyll and they sure could uses some of that
Forest have won
YIKES!!! GROAN!!!
Blackpool have won too
Blackpool have defeated Barnsley 1-0.
UW teach newly promoted Bournemouth a footballing lesson with a 6-1 victory.
Watford shirts and shorts look weird... not Watford-like
Derby have won at Brighton
More finals:
Brighton 1 Derby 2
Charlton 0 Middlesborough 1
Not a Big Club 1 Burnley 2
QPR on draw at H'field
It's been fun MUR but I am off to the other house to do more work
I'll be around tomorrow for the Wembley match
TTFN
A rare mistake from Yours Truly as Liverpool vs Celtic will be played at The Aviva Stadium in Dublin, not Helsinki.
Cheers, UWS. Have a great day. It was great chatting with you too.
The Tarctor boys defeat the Evil Lions 3-0 while the Bees defeat the Evil Blades 3-1.
Forest Green defeat Hyde 8-0
They're off from Dublin.
GOAL !!! 1-0 CELTIC AS NEW BOY, AMELIO BALDE, GETS BEHIND THE LIVERPOOL DEFENSE, AND SCORES OFF OF MOGNOLET'S FOOT.
Nice, slick Celtic passing between Emilio Yzaguirre and Tony Watt before a through ball was stabbed to Balde. He turned a young Liverpool defender then shot off of Mignolet. Then Liverpool nearly tied it up as Glen Johnson did well to find Coutinho , whose close range effort was blocked by Zaluska. Then Zlauska did well to push away a rocket from Downing.
Stokes nearly headed a corner from Stevie G into his own goal as it was headed just over.
Zaluska did well to push away a sh close range effort from Glen Johnson. Nice pass from Downing.
The pass was actually from Jose Enrique.
Anthony Stokes booked for a nasty foul on Coutinho.
Anthony Stokes booked for a nasty foul on Coutinho.
One minute of stoppage time.
Decent save by Mignolet from Stokes off a nice cross from Yzaguirre and Celtic lead 1-0 at the half,.
GOAL !!! 1-1
Kolo Toure heads in a free kick from Stevie G . Fraser Fyvvie had fouled Coutinho about 30 yards out to win the free kick/
Great reflex save by Fraser Forster from Sturridge at the near post. Both came on as subs at halftime.
Jordan Henderson on for Joe Allen as the goal was disallowed for offside. Harsh on Liverpool as Toure appeared to be level. Celtic hanging on to their slim lead.
Sturridge misses a sitter as he shoots wide with just Forster to beat. Nice through ball from Coutinho.
A long range rocket Sturridge skims the side netting with Forster completely beaten. Still 1-0 to Celtic.
Into stoppage time as Stevie G shoots wide from a corner.
There will be four minutes of that . Just over one minute already played.
That's it as Celtic hold on to defeat Liverpool 1-0 despite some desperate second half defending. That's it for me. I will be around as the Uniteds are in action tomorrow. Cheers lads.
