Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Tough Tests for United and Arsenal in the Champions League Draw

There aren't really any easy groups left in the Champions League group stage (okay, Group G looks a bit soft) but United and especially Arsenal were given no favors by the suits draws balls out of UEFA bowls at the draw yesterday. Here's the draw in full:

Group A: Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad
Group B: Real Madrid, Juventus, Galatasaray, FC Copenhagen
Group C: Benfica, Paris St Germain, Olympiakos, Anderlecht
Group D: Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, Manchester City, Viktoria Plzen
Group E: Chelsea, Schalke, Basel, Steaua Bucharest
Group F: Arsenal, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli
Group G: Porto, Atletico Madrid, Zenit St Petersburg, Austria Vienna
Group H: Barcelona, AC Milan, Ajax, Celtic

Your thoughts, gentlemen?

Thanks for the post, Bob. Did Roman bribe the UEFA suits? They practically handed Chelsea a place in the knockout stages? A decent draw for Citeh , who should finish as group runners up. Agreed that United and Arsenal are not guaranteed qualification to the knockout round and this is unfamiliar territory for Moyes. OUCH for Celtic despite their fantastic performance last season. I don't see them emulating that this time around. Finally, today is Elizabeth's birthday.

I agree - easy draw for Chelski and a decent one for Citeh. You have to say that they deserve it after being in the Group of Death last season.
