An Odd Sunday
Morning, chaps! I've taken the liberty of having a lie-in - a luxury during the footer season - as the suits at the Premiership have an odd schedule for us today. Rather than the usual staggering of two or three matches at 1:30 GMT and 4 GMT, they've gone with the two matches at the same time. So at the top of the hour, we'll get both Cardiff v. Citeh and Spurs v. Swansea. Join me for the simultaneously coverage.

Good morning Bob. It definitely was great to have a lie in. It's a Leek Sunday. Are they trying to increase the telly ratings in South Wales?
In a match between promotion favorites, Watford vs Forest finished 1-1 while Wigan lead Middlesbrough 1-0 in the first half.
In League One, It's Coventry 1 Preston 1. That would put the light blues on -3 points.
Morning Boys
I am sitting here in our new house ready for the Welsh Batterings!
I am going to find the other match on the computer to watch both at once
Good morning UWS. I will too.
Morning, lads. Looking forward to it this morning. Congratulations, UWS, on getting into the new place.
Rebecca Lowe announces that Bale is about to join Real Madrid!
Spurs vs Swansea kicks off from WHL while I have Cardiff vs Citeh loading.
Congrats, UWS. I am delighted for you and your family. Well done mate!
Cardiff vs Citeh yet to kick off.
They're off from Cardiff!
Thanks
I just hope we can sell our other one!
The renting fell thru
The match in the Welsh capital kicked off 90 seconds after the one in the English capital. A different time zone.
Tough opening to the campaign for Swansea. Home to United and then away to Spurs.
So sorry, UWS. I hope things improve.
So, I have the Spurs match on the tellie
Cardiff on the computer
The Ashes on the iPhone.
Frazier Campbell , the former United trainee. went down easily in the box, but never a pen by Kompany.
Morning Bob
I'm really happy with that 1-1 score between Watford and Forest. We're now in sixth, on 8 points from four matches. Not a bad start to the season.
I'm the same as you, except for the Ashes.
A great start for the Whites. Also , I did hear Rebeccca mention that Bale moved to Spurs.
Finally finished unpacking the last box this morning, chaps. I feel pretty moved in.
I would guess Tony's boss is a the Lane. He sits on the end equal to the side of the penalty area on the top right of your screen
My comment from Cardiff is:
COME ON YOU RED DRAGONS!
Boxes
don't mention boxes
Crap all over the place.... in both houses
Oh - decent free kick chance there for the red Bluebirds.
Stupid foul by Lescott on the South Korean just outside the box.
Decent effort from the RED Bluebirds
Get on it, mate!
Oh - Paulinho worked the opening really well but never caught the shot well enough.
OH! just wide by for the Red Dragons by what looks like Peter whittingham. A decent free kick and Hart was scrambling.
Nice move by Pauly... weak shot
It is normal to have boxes. it took us a couple of years to unpack everything.
Danny Rose with a pathetic cross, straight from the LUFC Academy.
Love to see Citeh drop points today
Swansea almost in there
Michu misses a rebound but offside anyway
Oh - Swansea might have scored there. Great strike by Routledge and then Michu shanked the rebound. He was offside but still....
Michu misses a sitter as Lloris saved from Routledge and Michu shot the rebound from him, but the linesman spared his blushes with the offside flag.
I'd love to see both of these sides drop points today.
Capoue launches one from down the Seven Sisters Road. Easily recovered by Worm.
I want Spurs to win
I want them to stick it to Bale
WE DON'T NEED YOU!!
I would too. They are not red bluebirds. They must be red dragons. They have an Asian owner, who changed their colors to red and red Dragons are symbolic in the Far East. They are sewn on the jerseys, so they have to be the Red Dragons, like it or not.
Now Capoue with a rugger hold after cheaply conceding possession..
Is Big Brad still at Spurs?
Hart spills an effort off a Red Dragon free kick as one, two , three , four of those fire breathers were offside, but Lescott got the touch. That offside decision shouldn't count/.
Navas wins a Cioteh corner.
The corner is easily headed away. The Red Dragons are a better side than the Magpies.
Yes - Big Brad is the #2 now at Spurs.
Matt made a comment right as I was thinking it
The ref is wearing yellow and sort of clashes with the Swansea shoulders
Poor cross by Clichy as the Red Dragons were wise to the CR types footwork. Pathetic cross by Yaya
Andros Townsend latches onto a poor clearance and wins a dangerous free kick inside the D.
Ben Davies booked for a foul on Townsend on the edge of the D.
Free kick chance for Spurs.... Townsend's bad control gets a free kick for it
Harmlessly high and wide
Chadli takes and it's well over the mark.
Chadli curls the free kick over. Good idea, but needed to keep it down.
As Gerry Harrison of Match of the Week would say
High Wide and Horrible
Peter whittingham straight at Hart from long range.
Pablo Hernandez wins a corner off of Chadli that is cleared.
I watched the MOTD last night. It's not the classic UK edition but it's pretty good.
Silva wins a Citeh cxorner that he will take.
Yes - but do you remember the player who took the free kick and the occasion that Gerry Harrison was commenting on, UWS?
The corner is cleared., but Citeh keep possession as Jerko heads well wide,.
I sure don't. I am drawing a blank, but think it happened at Portman Road.
Last Tea Break of the Ashes this summer
Australia trying to slog it out then bowl England out.
Just over 200 ahead... not sure when they will declare
Strange year for the Ashes... they play in Australia Down Under this winter
Australia have dcllared
England need 226
I missed MOTD. Elizabeth and I were at a colleague's birthday party.
What a couple of chances... great diving header off the bar by a Swan... rebound saved
Nope - it was in the group stages of the 1982 World Cup. France v. an African side (I don't remember).
Michel Platini steps up and shanks one from about 20 yards. Cue Harrison - "Well, that was high, wide and 'orrible." One of my favorite commentary lines of all time.
WOW! Ashley Williams headed a cross from Kyle Walker on to his own post them Worm saved superbly from Paolinho.
Well done Bob... I won't ave gotten that
France were in the same group as England, Kuwait , and the Czechs that World Cup.The match vs Kuwait was the one where the Kuwaitis walked off the pitch due to a refereeing decision. Was it that match?
Decent move by Swansea ends with a weak shot by Shelvey
I still remember certain details from that World Cup as if it had been yesterday, as it's my favorite. Last summer in Britain with all of us together and watching.
I remember you missing Bryan Robson's opening goal against France while you were in the bog and racing in to catch the replay, Coach Hunter's irate reaction to the Schumacher incident, loads of us at the Dosedels for Brazil v. Italy (I was the only one supporting Brazil).
Lloris pushes a shot from Shelvey around the post. A routine save.
Might have been, MUR - it was definitely a lesser side.
The corner is headed away.
It is in the background but Citeh haven't seemed to create much
No goals in either match today. I'm officially goal-starved.
BTW, if my typing is off a bit it is because I am typing a long distance from my computer and can't really read what I am typing
It's all the Welsh's fault!
I missed the first half of the Kuwait match because I was working a summer hire job, so I may have missed that remark. I remember the goal from Bryan Robson. It was played in Bilbao and Terry Butcher headed on a throw and Bryan Robson easily scored as he was unmarked.
I agree - blame it on the Leek Eaters.
Rather naughty, lads.
I reckon that those who picked Alan Pardew to win the Sack Race are in good shape. Newcastle are second bottom and look terrible.
None of the promoted sides scored last weekend and the Red Dragons have yet to open their account today
PENALTY SWANSEA AS SHELVEY TRIPS SALDADO IN THE BOX.
Worm picks up a yellow for his mouth.
I agree, I heard that Pardew is wanted at Palace
He scored the winner for them in the famous 1990 FA Cup Semi Final 4-3 win against Pool
I wish it had been a pen - the free kick comes to nothing. Goal starved.
Sorry. It was a free kick that Capoue headed wide and I think Worm talked himself into the book.
Another nice move by Pauly but a useless shot
Paulinho is doing some lovely stuff around the half way line but is trying really speculative stuff from about forty yards. Not going to beat Worm with those.
That shot killed a few Worms!
The only Spurs goal was a pen at a newly promoted side, while Swansea's only scorer is on the bench. The Red Dragons yet to score.
But not The Worm....
Boom boom.
They did score five midweek int he EL
Tasty Worms in Worms, Germany.
That was my joke... don't Basil Brush me!
That is true, but only one lonely Prem goal and that scorer is not even out on the pitch.
Great save by Vorm
Worm does well to tip over an effort from Dembele.
Dawson heads over a corner. Did Worm tip that over? A goal kick was given.
The Fifth Test Match at the Oval has been hampered by the weather. Yesterday was a complete washout.
Australia have declared both innings and could still lose!
Best sign in the Oval history....
JOEL MOW THE LAWN!
AVB would do well to tell his players that the early bird gets the Worm. Good enough for Basil?
I didn't know Spurs ended last season well... I thought they let Arsenal catch them up
Silva shoots tamely at David Marshall.
Pauly hits one just wide
I love the sound NBC are allowing us to hear
OH! Paolinho misses a sitter as he volleys wide from a great cross by Chadli.
England need 227 to win
Already 14 with no loss after a couple of overs
I'd love to see the Aussies lose 0-4
I was surprised about that Spurs stat too. A lot of draws in that run? I have heard stories about the lawn mowing. Sounds really scary!
The Aussies to lose over and over again?
The match in the Leek capital kicked off 90 seconds later than the one in the English capital
Michu looks really arsed off - and he's bought himself a yellow. The second Swansea player to get a booking for dissent. Silly.
Michu booked for a "striker's tackle."
I read on some website this morning that Giroud has scored 13 goals for the Gunners... all of them have been in London.... could that be right?
Malky Mackay looks arsed off at Craig Bellamy and it looks like referee, Lee Probert, is teasing Bellamy about it. Now that's great officiating. Eagle Eyes Probert!
That will last until the first really loud, rude chant of the year. I seem to remember that Wayne Routledge went off during a match last season for a potty break.
When he returned, the Swansea fans serenaded him with a loud song (to the tune of "Sloop John B"):
"He shits when he wants, he shits when he wants....Wayne Routledge, he shits when he wants."
NBC won't like that much.
I thought Giroud scored in Turkey on Wednesday. I'm not so sure about that one. That might be Prem goals, but even that one sounds off.
Flores hits a long shot - why are all of the chances coming from about forty yards out?
Frazier goes close for the Red Bluebirds
Actually, they replayed the incident where Probert teased Bellamy and original Bellamy was pissed off.
Is that a pen? Townsend went over in the box. No - he's called it outside.
Cardiff almost in again
That should have been a pen for Spurs
That should have been a penalty as Shelvey fouled Townsend in the box. Why outside the box?
Rubbish free kick from Dawson, easlly cut out.
I think they meant Prem goals
One minute of stoppage time as the free kick was cleared. Lucky Swans.
The former United trainee with the two Red Dragons chances.
Goalless at half at WHL
Halftime and 0-0 at WHL.
Late corner for Cardiff
Two minutes of stoppage time in the Leek Capital.
Punched away by Hart
Late Cardiff corner.
Did you see who is on top of the Conference?
Cambridge United!
Nil nil at ht in Cardiff too
Hart punches away.
Halftime and 0-0 in both matches. Is the NBC link a minute behind the ITV link?
Well done Cambridge, but they need to maintain this for the remaining 43 matches.
Olivier Giroud clearly loves playing in London. All 11 of the Arsenal striker's goals in his debut season came in the capital, and he's continued in the same vein this August.

England just lost their first wicket
Great commercial with Ted Lasso. A poor two quarters in both matches today
Teams coming out in London
A sticky wicket?
Teams back out at Shite Fart Lane and we're away in the second half.
The second half is underway from WHL
Giorud must like playing in Istanbul too and that's no bull.
Early corner for Spurs that comes to nothing
Teams coming out of the tunnel in Cardiff.
Spurs scored their goal last weekend early in the second half
Great block by Williams and it results in a Spurs corner.
Bellamy and Lee Probert have a laugh as they come out of the tunnel.
The second half is underway from the Leek Capital.
ouch MUR!!!
Good point about Spurs scoring early in the second half. I am surprised that they have yet to score from open play.
Chico Flores tackles Chadli for a Spurs corner.
Hee Hee, UWs!
Gunnarrssson clears for an early Citeh corner taken short and it breaks to Lescott, whose shot goes across the Severn
Oh - Townsend rifles one just over the bar.
Nice effort by Townsend...just over
OH! A powerful shot from Townsend was inches over.
Bugger....Jerko hits the back of the net!
Poor free kick from Whittingham , curled in that found nobody.
GOAL! Citeh take the lead at Cardiff through a great strike!
Just saw it. An excellent strike from about 25 yards out.
Shelvey does gives away a pen
Townsend goes down again - and this time it is a pen!
PENALTY SPURS A MAKEUP CALL FROM THE FIRST HALF? ALSO ON TOWNSEND
Soldado to take and another great pen!
1-0 Spurs.
Definitely a make up call, there. That was really soft.
Saldado nets his second pen of the year
Will Spurs score from open play
That was a dive but the first half wasn't
SALDAO SENDS WWORM THE WRONG WAY FROM THE SPOT .
BUGGER! My satelite just went out, so I only have the match from Cardiff.
So a quick check on the top goalscorer stakes:
Benteke is in the lead with three goals.
All of these lads are on two:
Robin van Persie
Olivier Giroud
Lucas Podolski
Daniel Sturridge
Danny Welbeck
Roberto Soldado
I noticed that too. Both Spurs goals scored early in the second half on a Sunday from the spot , bit sending the keeper the wrong way and both questionable.
YES!!!!!!!!!!
CARDIFF TIE IT UP
The satellite is back up. I just heard a minor rumble of thunder.
Matt is gloating about Benteke... of course he has played TWO more games than RVP or Welly
NBC Sports Extra is two minutes behind. and on the second weekend of the season. Poor on their part.
Are you guys behind from Cardiff... IT IS ONE ONE
Well done, the red Bluebirds!
Correct about the extra games played.
I do seem to be a bit behind.
Gunnarrsson with the Cardiff . The South Korean passed to Frazier , whose shot was blocked by Hart and Gunnarrsoon easily put away the rebound.
I have a link from First Row
I can't get NBC Live because of TW
Of course, my link has Extra Time written in the corner
The Red Dragons open their account against high spending Citeh, of all teams.
Williams fouls Vertonhen just outside the box.
Mine too. I'm at 64 minutes.
That explains it, UWS.
Just turned 65
When I look at it again, the Shelvy foul was obstruction. I know I bang on about it every weekend, but why are indirect free kicks so rare at this point?
I'm a minute behind you, Bob. Perhaps it's my computer
Will you still love me, UWS?
Not sure, Bob. Shelvey is confirming why my brother is glad he left Liverpool.
Jonjo Shelvy troops off. I don't like the defensive role that he's been made to play at Swansea.
The poor Shelvey off for Boni, the striker, who scored vs Man Yoo.
I let Sparky out back and it is raining ,yet I heard some numpty mowing the lawn
I let Sparky out back and it is raining ,yet I heard some numpty mowing the lawn
Paulinho concedes a free kick and Lloris does well to tip oiver from Chico Flores.
