Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The teams out at Elland Road now:
Leeds - Kenny, Lees, Wootton, Pearce, Byram, Murphy, Mowatt, Austin, Warnock, Smith, Ross.
Brum - Randolph, Bartley, Burn, Robinson, Caddis, Lee, Murphy, Burke, Novak, Lingard.
A couple of early chances falling to Ross. The Brum keeper Randolph saving both well.
GOAL! Ross comes good finally with our opening goal.
That's Ross' 6th goal of the season. His goals had dried up a bit of late, so that's a real tonic. If the goals don't come from him, generally don't come.
Back up into the top half for us with that goal. 9th. That'll do for now.
Good morning Bob. Congratulations on taking the lead.
Cheers, mate - how was your Saturday?
Are you watching on a link?
Good. It was busy. How was yours?
I have a link loading
Hey Boys
Congrats Bob for taking the lead
Sorry I was a miss for the late game... BLOODY LEAVES!!
Now it is up and running.
I am leaving here soon again. I have to go over to the old house to move some furniture
Good morning UWS. Fortunately, I do not have that problem.
Matt's team won last night 2-1. He had both assists and played very well
Sorry you have to leave us . I bet you will be relieved when everything is moved into the new house.
Stephen Warnock heads out a free kick from David Murphy for a corner.
Just wide by Chris Burke as the Leeds defense failed to clear their lines.
OH! Ross was through, but the keeper came out to gather. He felt he was pushed. I thought it was minimal contact
Congratulations Matt. well done and a great win. Did they make the playoffs?
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
RUDY AUSTIN HEADS LEEDS TO A 2-0 LEAD. SUPERB CROSS.
Morning, lads - where is the link?
Wahay! I'm delighted with that one. It's Rudy's first goal of the season and things are going rather swmmingly at Elland Road all of a sudden.
Dominic Matteo and Lucas Radebe are in attendance.
Here is the link :

Hello Bob. I am sure you are a happy chappy. Leeds have an early kickoff on Saturday, a local derby up the road at Huddersfield.
Lovely jubbly - cheers, mate - the link is up and running.
Jesse Lingard heads well wide for the Brummies.
Great to hear. MOT!
I see lots of empty seats. Why would this be a police match? I can understand the local derby at Huddersfield next Saturday.
GOAL!!!!!!!
We're 3-0 up! Big Matt Smith with the third.
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
3-0 LEEDS AS A SHOT FROM ROSS WASSAVED AND MATT SMITH PUT AWAY THE REBOUND. GREAT HEDER FROM A LONG BALL.
Two minutes of stoppage time. are you dancing in the streets of Fred Town?
The Ross/Smith combination works its wonders again. Smith flicked on a lovely header for Ross to run on to and shoot. Randolph parried and Smith finished it off.
I am indeed dancing the Leeds United Calypso - this is a remarkable first half.
Halftime and a delightful 3-0 halftime lead to the Whites.
It sure is. Hoping for more of the same in the second half.
I am just leaving
RUDDY NORAH... WHY CAN'T MY UNITED PLAY LIKE THIS!
Congrats
Nice lager ad by Eric Cantona.
Back on for the second half - MOT!
Novak on for Burn and Zigic for Shinnie as lee Clark makes two halftime substitutions.
The second half is underway from ER/
Did anyone see the ad with Eric Cantona. An excellent advert
Matt Smith heads wide from a free kick.
PHEW ! A decent effort from Andrew Shinnie was just wide for Brum.
Brum have come out of the dressing room the brighter. I hope we don't just sit back and try to absorb the pressure. We've got a habit of leaking needless goals, which is why our GD is still at nought.
I think Leeds have been winning the 50-50 challenges in midfield. No worries mate.
Warnock has a cross blocked for a corner off a headed pass.
Head tennis off Leeds's second corner off the match then Brum clear.
well wide by Wade Elliott.
Sam Byram has done an excellent job of marking Jesse Lingard and Leeds have kept Wade Elliott quiet too.
Gareth Southgate, the new England Under 21 boss, in attendance.
Rodolph Austin has a shot blocked from, a great position.
Nikola Zigic always gives me palpatations - he's a handful.
Warnock becomes the first player of the match to be booked as he fouls Wade Elliott on the break
He sure wasn't off that free kick. He's done naught since coming on as a halftime sub.
The announcer mentioned that David Healey scored twice the last time Leeds defeated Brum. I am sure that Bob does not want to hear about that player.
A quick trip to the bog and I did not miss a goal thanks to Tom Lees.
Great save by Paddy Kenny from Zigic. Brum corner.
Zigic gets it all wrong from the corner. That was only Brum's second shot on target as Leeds are ahead in that category 7-2.
Phew - Murphy rockets one off the post!
Free kick to Brum. David Murphy to take. OH and it's a cracker as it comes off the post with Paddy Kenny well beaten and cleared away by Leeds.
Will you be around for Villa vs Spurs today?
Surely that was a hand ball by Kyle Bartley. That would have been a great set piece opportunity for the whites.
Just wide by Chris Burke as Paddy Kenny got a slight touch for a corner.
Leeds clear the corner
Cor! Smith has it in the net again but he's flagged offside. Marginal call.
Phew - Byram off the line there from Zigic.
Oh - end to end stuff now. Matt Smith with a towering header that Randolph somehow clawed out.
PHew ! Chris Burke has as hot cleared off the line then Leeds break and Matt Smith has a header superbly saved by Darren Randolph off a great cross from Ross.
YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
This time Big Matt comes up trumps again!
Great cross over and this time Smith gave Randolph no chance as he powered the header past him.
4-0!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
MATT SMITH SCORES HIS SECONWITH A GREAT HEADER OFF A GREAT CROSS FROM MOWATT AS THE WHITES HAVE A SUOERB 4-0 LEAD.
Breathing a little easier Bob?
Our Bob must be pinching himself as Leeds have a huge lead. More of the same in the early kickoff on Saturday.
The Leeds fans are now chanting "Sacked in the morning" to Lee Clark, which seems a bit unfair. There was a time when I would have been happy to have Lee at Elland Road.
NIce idea as Ross took a quick free kick , but Matt Smith strayed just offside.
Breathing very easy now - we've at least got these three points in the bag. Now on to the next hurdle.
Agreed, but he hasn't had the most successful time at St. Andrews.
A local derby at Huddersfield Saturday at 7:30 AM.
Yes - the Yorkshire Police are at least on the job, whilst the Met Police are still having a kip.
NAughty shove by Kyle Bartley on Matt Smith
I am not surprised given the Met Police's track record.
Warnock heads out for a Brum corner.
The Ross/Smith goal tally (6 for Ross and now 4 for Matt) is definitely starting to look like a partnership. Can we call them M&S (for Marks and Spencer?).
Poor corner from Murphy cleared by the first man then a horrible cross by Murphy.
Absolutely. It's official.
Into the side netting by Andrew Shinnie.
Michael Brown about to come on. enough time to come on , take out a player or two and pick up a requisite booking.
Now Brown is on for the excellent Austin, who gets a deserved standing ovation.
Three minutes of stoppage time. How will Bob celebrate?
I'll be celebrating by a bit of a sing-song in the shower. It's bleedin' cold here but I'm trying to avoid putting the heat on until November hits. Looking forward to a steamy one.
Lovely jubbly! 4-0!
That's it and a superb 4-0 win for the Whites.
Congratulations, Bob.
They're off from Villa Park as Villa hosts Spurs. Spurs will move up to fifth with a win.
The announcer says that Paul Lambert wants a symbiotic relationship among his players. I don't picture Lambert using that vocabulary.
A rainy Villa Park and the ball is moving with pace.
Ashley Westwood booked for a foul on Holtby.
GOAL !!! SPURS TAKE THE LEAD AT VILLA PARK. ANDROS TOWNSEND SCORES WITH A GOAL THAT WAS MEANT TO BE A CROSS. SOLDADO PASSED TO TOWNSEND ON THE RIGHT AND THE CROSS INTENDED FOR SOLDADO ELUDED EVERYONE AND WENT INTO THE BACK OF THE NET.
Villa have gone fifteen consecutive home matches without keeping a clean sheet. Their worst run since 1966.
A smoke bomb from the Spurs fans hit the linesman in the back of the head. Surely, that will be investigated.
Siggy heads a cross from Vertonghen just wide.
Fabian Delph with a shot well over and halfway to Yorkshire.
Paulinho booked for a foul on Delph just outside the box. Good chance for Villa.
Dreadful free kick from Bacuna. A rare chance for Villa.
Villa counter through Agbon and his cross is sliced out by Dawson for a corner.
Just wide by Weimann from a pass by Westwood.
Late Villa corner.
Two minutes of stoppage time as Delph is fouled by Holtby.
Great save by Guzan from Townsend.
The corner is cleared and Spurs are one up at the half.
The second half is underway from Villa Park
Great save by Guzan from Paulinho. Vlaar heads away the corner.
Michael Dawson booked for a foul on weimann just outside the box. Looked a fair tackle./
Dawson heads away the free kick from Westwood and Al Ahmedi shoots high and wide.
Agbon booked for a foul on Walker. Poor touch by Walker and Agbon leaning in with the arm.
Beneteke warming up on the sidelines to the delight of the Villa fans.
Townsend gets past Luna and his cross is cleared by Vlaar for a corner.
The corner from Siggy is headed away and Holtby finds Row Z
A standing ovation as Beneteke is on for Kozak.
Beneteke heads a cross from Delph just over. A great Villa possession.
Villa fans have been more vocal since the introduction of Beneteke.
Weimann wins a corner off of Siggy.
Beneteke heads well over from the corner
Aaron Lennon is on for Siggy, which should please Bob He hjas not started since the opening day at Palace.
Beneteke heads a cross from Delph straight to Lloris.
GOAL !!! EASY PEASY AS SPURS ARE NOW TWO UP. THEY WENT STRAIOGHT UP THE PITCH AND SOLDADO SCORES HIS FIRST OF THE SEASON FROM OPEN PLAY
Spurs scored fifteen seconds after the goal kick off the Beneteke header. Holtby won the ball off of Bacuna , passed to Paulinho and his superb through ball was well finished by Soldado.
Yacouba Sylla is on for El Ahmadi and Dembele is on for Holtby.
a decent effort from Townsend as a left curler was just over.
The final roll of the dice from Paul Lambert as Tonev, the Bulgarian, is on for Agbon.
Spurs should have been three up. Townsend easily went past Luna and a superb cross was completely missed by Paulinho, who had an open goal.
Townsend has a pass cut out for a corner after a sol run when he easily dispossessed Weimann
Dafoe on for Soldado for a late cameo.
Kyle Walker has needlessly talked himself into the book.
Naughty by Delph on Townsend. and he is booked for that. Sheer frustration.
Lennon booked for a foul on Weimann. What do these last two bookings say about the LUFC Academy?
That's it and Spurs with a comfortable 0-2 win at Villa Park. Spurs up to fifth. That's it for me.
CHEERS!
