Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good morning Bob. I'm up at the crack of dawn as I hope the Good Guys thrash the Bad Guys.
MOT!!!
It's an early day for Evil clubs as Not a Big Club's neighbors, the Evil Blades travel about fifteen miles south to face Chesterfield Fags. Let's hope the cutlery team gets smoked out.
Morning, MUR - great to have you on board. I appreciate your waking up at the crack 'o dawn for the Leeds boys.
Hello mate . It's great to enjoy the pleasure of your company. Will you be up at the crack of Dawn to watch my United tomorrow?
Here are the line-ups for this morning's match-up:
Leeds - Silvestri, Byram, Bellusci, Pearce, Berardi, Bianchi, Mowatt, Austin, Sloth, Antenucci, Doukara.
Subs - Warnock, Murphy, Sharp, Adryan, Taylor, Morison, Cooper.
Not a Big Club - Westwood, Lee, Lees, Lovrens, Mattock, Maguire, Palmer, Semedo, Maghoma, Nuhiu, May.
Subs - Buxton, Drenthe, Coke, Helan, Madine, Dielna, Kirkland.
Will do, mate - should be a cracker.
BEIN finally has coverage at ER as we hope to see a thrashing of Not a Big Club.
Ta, mate. I fancy our chances as the Toffees are coming of a gruelling trip deep into the Russian interior in Bob's beloved competition.
How does Cellino decide to pick a Slovenian that was managing in the Austrian League? I don't get it.
Leeds look to be playing in a diamond as Not a Big Club have benched Chris Kirkland , who is replaced by Kieran Westwood.
I have to say that BEin has done a marvelous job of covering the Leeds boys - this is our third live one of the season. Elland Road looking and sounding brilliant today.
I don't get the Milanic choice either. He's got no experience at this level.
Leeds coming off a 0-0 draw against the Reading Railroad. I hope the Whites steamroll the opposition today.
They're off from ER.
Leeds get us underway in this one. Should be a tense affair. It's the return of our old boy Tom Lees now in the back for Not a Big Club. Should get a hot reception.
It should be a low scoring match as Not a Big Club have been miserly in defense conceding only seven league goals all season.
Nice - Mirco picks up an early free kick with some lovely running.
Loovens fouls Antenucci just outside the box.
Curled wide by Alex Mowatt. it was never going to trouble Kieran Westwood.
Mowatt takes but it's well wide. No risk to Westwood.
Not a Big club lost to a Big Club in the Capital One Cup, who were thirsty and went Seven Up. You should like that quip.
Not a Big travelled only 31 miles. I thought the distance between the clubs was further than that.
Oh - Nuhiu got behind our back four there and should have kept his header down and on goal. An early score for us.
Nuhiu, the big Austrian heads wide off a cross from Chris Maguire. The whites will need to do a better job of marking the big man.
I enjoyed that Man Citeh thoroughly. They were rampant that evening.
No comments on my joke at 7:20?
Sorry. I just saw it. All the goals were in the second half . Is that some sort of a record?
Not a Big Club pressing their claim here. Not liking it.
Sorry, mate. Boom boom. I'm a wee bit tired after a long week and a late night out.
That thrashing was on a Wednesday of all days. According to bbc.com, that is the most goals they have ever conceded on a Wednesday in a match or in a half.
Leeds fans are in a jubilant mood.
Nuhiu again got around the back and should have done better.
No probs, mate. I went to bed a tad early and am somewhat rested,
Oh - Mowatt was nearly in there but Westwood cleaned up.
Great block by Westwood from Mowatt for a Leeds corner. Taken by Mowatt and headed away by Nuhiu.
Great through ball by Bianchi.
The linesman on the left side is being really generous to us.
Similar through ball by Bianchi again and this time it was a hair to much and westwood did well to rush out and gather,.
Oh! Just wide by Doukarra. It did lack power.
Oh - first sight of goal for Doukara who was played in by Mowatt and whipped a shot across Westwood.
Another great pass by Bianchi, who seems to be in the mood,.
Some very Big calls going against Not a Big Club.
well stated by the announcer. Who would be the manager of Leeds?
Austin wins the ball deep in his own half and Semedu fouls him deep in the other half.
Oh - Austin with a ripper from forty yards. Westwood tipped over well.
Superb save from Westwood off a long range rocket from Austin off the short free kick.
Alex Mowatt seems to have taken over as primary playmaker #10 from Luke Murphy this season.
Mowatt took the corner and his return cross was headed away for another
westwood easily catches the next corner from Mowatt/
High and wide by Maghoma, to the delight of the Leeds fans.
It seems as if Bianchi has been the play maker early doors. He's put through some tasty passes.
Looks like Rudy Austin has picked up a knock.
Were you pleased about the result vs the Reading Railroad? What was your twin, Brian thinking?
Poor pass from Sloth to end a promising possession.
Another useless effort from Sloth in yet again another promising position.
I was okay about the draw. It's another point toward safety for us - keeps us mid-table.
Stuart Gray said he will add to his squad after the international break. Not a Big Club have their own transfer window?
Wasn't that a battle of the clubs that sacked your twin?
The wall held up to Maguire's free kick there.
A poor free kick by Chris Maguire is straight into that white wall.
Mirco needs to stay onside a bit more. Promising play from us but the final shots are not coming off.
Berardi has a shot deflected off of an offside Antenucci , straight to Westwood after Leeds got a second and third bite at the cherry off some poor passes.
Agreed. You can thrash these mugs if the final ball improves.
Now Mowatt gets in on the act with a really horrible cross.
Oh - Doukara had a free header there but put it overt the top! Offside as well.
OH! Doukarra had a free header. No, offside. He should have hit the target.
Milanic cutting a stylish shape on the touchline. No shellsuit for him, for sure.
Antenucci was a bit of a ball hog and was tackled. Then a foul ended the possession./
I reckon that the linesman on the left side has fallen asleep. He must have had a late night out as well.
Yes. It is a stylish look for your new gaffer.
BOOM BOOM!
Not a Big official?
Billy Sharp, the former Blade, and Sheffield born, would love to see some action.
Tom Lees gets some boos as he is traitor and made an evil move this summer.
Positive running from Antenucci again.
Now Berardi plays a poor final ball.
Now Antenucci plays a poor final ball then gets it back and Sloth is offside as Westwood comes out to block. He looked on .
Tom Lees is playing a really tight line, catching us offside again and again. Sloth is the latest victim.
Cheers, mate. I'd like to see Billy Sharp on in the second half.
Hopefully he's like a pointy piece of cutlery to your evil opponents.
To underscore what's been happening with our club the past few years, we sold our top two scorers and our skipper (Tom Lees) over the summer. Liverpool fans have been bellyaching about losing Suarez but the equivalent would have been losing Suarez, Sturridge and Gerrard all in one summer!
It's been a quiet half for Silvestri.
Boom boom, mate. Billy will slice through their backfour.
I agree. A great analogy.
BOOM BOOM!
Nuhiu looks really static - no wonder Silvestri has been quiet. He picks up a yellow for a rash one.
A nasty foul by Nuhiu on Byram and deservedly booked.
I would love to see Leeds top of that slicing with some Seven Up.
Oh - Antenucci has it in the net but it won't count. He's been flagged offside. Nice tidy finish though.
Antenucci is flagged offside as he scores with a great finish off a pass from Austin, but it won't count.
Cellino seems pleased with the performance.
Oh - Stevie May should have scored there. Free header in the box. Phew!
A rare attack by Not a Big Club and May heads just wide off a cross from Chris Maguire.
I would love to see Cellino buy back Elland Road. And then bugger off and leave us to it.
Stevie May looks like a biker from a garage band.
Great tackle by Lees on Doukarra then Lees with a last ditch clearance.
I agree. That would be a step in the right direction/ and it would be great to see the back of Cellino
Half-time - A reasonably decent performance from us. We dominated play. If we can sort out the offside issue, we may be in here. I want a win!
0-0
Off to the magic couch for a wee nap.
It's halftime and 0-0 in a predictably hard fought Yorkshire Derby. I thought Leeds were the slightly better side.
I agree. Make sure it's a wee nap as the second half will start in fifteen minutes.
Teams back out for the second half....MOT!
Both clubs from the cutlery side are in action as the Evil Blades have made the short trip to Chesterfield Cigs and it's 0-0 fifteen minutes in.
The second half is underway.
COME ON YOU WHITES!
Luke Murphy is on for the highly ineffective Caper Sloth. He was more like Casper the Ghost
Westwood mopping up again.
westwood rushes out to clear from the on rushing Doukarra off a ni through ball from Antenucci.ce
Liam Palmer clears off the line after a really horrible back header from Loovens.
PHEW! The ball was given away to Chris Maguire and fortunately shot into the side netting with just Silvestri to beat
OH! Another save from Westwood as Doukarra played through Antenucci and a kick save was made , but he should have scored. westwood punches away the corner from Mowatt
Not a Big Club made their won halftime substitution as Madine came on for the cumbersome Nuhiu.
Bugger! Chris Maguire rockets one in.
0-1
DAMN !!!!
CHRIS MAGUIRE GIVES NOT A BIG CLUB THE LEAD WITH A LONG RANGE EFFORT IN THE CORNER.
A supperb save by westwood from Antenucci
Not a Big Club showing more ambition in this second half.
I'm not sure if this helps , but Chesterfield have taken the lead vs the Evil Blades.
Another corner, this time won by Doukarra.
Jason Pearce knows all about Tom Lees.
Poor corner from Mowatt headed away by Semedu then his return cross is headed away by Kieran Lee , then Westwood catches in traffic.
Into the side netting by Antenucci .
Bob will definitely be disappointed at the way the goal was conceded as it has been the only shot on target by Not a Big Club. A long ball was collected by Maghoma down the left. He got the better of Belluci then crossed. It was missed by Madine and the Leeds defense was static as it broke to the danger man, Maguire, who shot unchallenged.
Very disappointing. We can't afford to drop points at home to our local rivals.
Oh - May nearly made it two!
OH! Just wide by Stevie May as Madine did well to pick him out.
We're lucky that May hasn't been at the races today. He could have had two or three.
Still not sure why Neil Redfearn wasn't promoted to first team gaffer after a record of 10 points from 12.
Agreed. Leeds need to take their chances. To be honest, Westwood has been the MOTM so far.
Might get a chance to see young Adryan.
I agree. It doesn't make sense. This owner is a nut case. Agreed about Stevie May too.
Agreed - Westwood has been keeping us at bay.
It's suspicious if he's supposed talent, but can't even break into a Championship side. Has he been bust?
Wahey - Billy Sharp about to come on. Come on, Billy - let's be havin' one!
Berardi and Maguire booked for hand bags.
Handbags between Berardi and Maguire. Yellows all round.
Yes. About to come on for the recently bookedBerardi
Now it's Bellusci getting involved. Crikey!
Now Belluci booked for hand bags.
Yellow now for Bellusci. Silly boy.
It's those feisty Italians. Gotta love em!
They are hot blooded in the cauldron that is a Yorkshire Derby.
Doukara makes way for Sharp....
Bob will be delighted as ex Blade and Sheffieldite , Billy Sharp , is on for Doukarra.
I am delighted - but I'll be even more if he can notch one.
Maguire wisely withdrawn by Stuart Gray. Helan on for him.
Boos for Chris Maguire as Jeremy Helan is on in his place. The danger man subbed probably because he is on a yellow.
Now it's a yellow for Byram for sliding in on Helan after he'd given the ball away.
Sam Byram booked for a naughty one on Helan.
The yellows are flying now - Lee into the book. It's getting really chippy.
Now Sharp is hacked down. and Kieran Lee is deservedly booked.
No nonsense stuff from Jason Pearce. He's our rock at the back.
WAY HAY! Chesterfield have smoked their way two up against the Evil Blades on the stroke of halftime. Bob will be pleased.
PHEW! A really awful back header and fortunately , Madine headed straight to Silvestri.
Chesterfield are two up vs the Blades at the half.
Big shout for a penalty - I reckon it was ball to hand.
The sun's come out here...and at Elland Road. Hope that it provokes a late goal for us. I'll take a point now.
Semedu booked for obstruction.
I agree. That would be a decent result.
Semedo with a silly foul and he's just been booked.
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
It's Bellusci again!
1-1!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
BELLUCI TIES IT UP FOR LEEDS.
Really calm finish when the ball came down to him in the box from the free kick.
Now win it!
Their first goal under their new manager as a long free kick from Mowatt was not properly headed away and Bellucci tucked it away in the corner.
Steve Morison has come on amidst that celebration.
Now Steve Morison is on for Antenucci .
Morning Boys
I am around for a while. Still haven't decided if we are heading out to Cortland today
Congrats on the equalizer

Cellini is so excited he's joined the throng on the touchline. Good on him!
I wonder what Bob makes of Cellino acting goofy on the touchline.
Morning, UWS - you joined us right and the proper time. Now you need to inspire the winner!
Good morning UWS. Great to have you around. Some tough decisions ahead?
TWO BIG clubs going at it in Yorkshire
In fact, Yorkshire's two biggest clubs
A thirsty move, but a wise one as Giles Coke is on for Smedo, who was begging for an early bath.
It's Leeds time
Perhaps if UWS will admit that Wednesday are Not a Big Club it will inspire my lot to victory? What say you, UWS?
Leeds are the far bigger club.
Cheers, mate!
Wednesday were thrashed on a Wednesday in their worst ever defeat on a Wednesday.
The game has really opened up now.
Any time mate.
Well, the Evil Blades are two down at the half.
I hope UWS is up bright and early tomorrow for our kickoff at high noon. I will and I'm an hour behind you lot.
Great solo run by Helan then a great tackle before he could get a shot off.
You're a trooper, mate.
Great long diagonal ball to Rudy Austin, who got it horribly wrong with a terrible finish.
anything for the cause and I will make up for it nest weekend with the international break and a three day weekend.
Almost into stoppage time now. Come on, lads - win it for Massimo!
Now Cellino looking anxious as the sun has come out in west Yorkshire. The same in Harlingen.
Are these two clubs the biggest two in Yorkshire
I agree that Leeds are bigger than Wednesday but they are both big clubs
History, stadium and a big fan base... all the boxes ticked for both of these club
Rudy has won a vital free kick now. This is the same kind of territory that the goal came from.
Austin tripped by Giles Coke. A similar position to the free kick that led to the goal.
Oh dear - UWS has blown it.
Not this time as a foul is called.
Five minutes of stoppage time. Stuart Gray looks none too pleased.
If you say so Bob. You are definitely the expert on Yorkshire footie.
Oh - my heart was in my mouth as Madine turned and shot. Into Silvestri's arms, fortunately.
Silvestri saves comfortably from Madine as Leeds failed to get it clear.
Cheers, mate.
A late onslaught by Not a Big Club.
Route One stuff from both sides now in the dying moments. All the big boys are up for a free kick.
About a minute remaining.
Why did I blow it
Why did BD get thumbs up
