England v. the Auld Enemy Live!
One of my abiding memories is of watching the big home international between England and Scotland as a wee kiddie. This was back when were half decent and produced players such as Kenny Dalglish, Gordan Strachan and Joe Jordan on a regular basis. There are signs that they may be on another upswing again and could well qualify for Euro '16. So today's friendly international will be a fascinating test for both sides. Join me from 3pm onward to watch along on a dodgy link, won't you?

Good afternoon, Bob. I took a half day off,so I'm here to join you. I have Ireland vs the U.S. on ESPN 2 and will watch the Auld enemy on a link.
It's Ian Darke and TT. The infamous TT says that Ireland will have a B team out. It should be advantage Yanks if that's true.
They're off from the Aviva.
The U.S. win an early corner. Taken short by Bedoya then played back to him. then headed high and wide by Miralles, who plays for Inglestadt in the German Second Division.
Timmy Chandler has a cross blocked for another corner.
Taken short then crossed by Timmy Chandler and Shay Given fumbles the cross, but it is cleared away.
What is the point of playing Shay Given? He's not exactly part of Ireland's long term plans.
GOAL !!! 1-0 IRELAND. SUPERB THROUGH BALL FROM MCGOLDRICK TO PILKINGTON AFTER RECEIVING THE BALL FROM PILKINGTON. THEN PILKINGTON BETA MATT BEASLER FOR PACE AND CHIPPED THE ON RUSHING GUZAN FOR HIS FIRST EVER GOAL FOR IRELAND.
I just got a link for the big one at Celtic PArk just across the sea from the Aviva .
Afternoon, MUR - not a good afternoon so far for the US, eh?
The U.S. win a free kick off a push from Christie. I'm not familiar with him.
What's the link, mate? I'm still searching.
Good afternoon, mate. The U.S. have dominated and the Irish scored on their only real attack of the match
I think I've got one now.

That's the link. I got it off of espn3.com
Ian Darke, the announcer Gooner loves to hate, is announcing the match in Dublin with TT.
We're set to go now at Celtic Park.
A moment's applause for a Scotlanmd fan, who fell tragically down a stairwell during Scotland vs Ireland on Friday.
England to get us underway in all white. Jocks in all blue.
They're off from Celtic Park.
The teams are in their traditional colors.
Hopefully, this match will warm you on a bitterly cold day in Fred Town
A cross from Bedoya is headed out for a corner at the far post as Robbie Brady was beaten. He's playing at left back, but normally a middie.
Shaw wins an England corner. Cahill heads wide from the corner from Downing.
I'm nice and toasty in the office but not looking forward to the walk home.
A partizan crowd boos every England touch, especially by Wazza.
I'll have to run off to a meeting at 3:30 but hopefully will be back for the second half.
Oh - Welly was in there at an acute angle but had a go. Marshall bobbled it but it wouldn't settle for another white shirt. A let off for the Scots.
OH!!! Nearly 1-1 as Fabiam Johnson had a shot come off the outside ofof the post off a short corner from Bedoya.
Shaky by the Jocks t. They got away with that fumble by Marshall.
I will need to leave at the hour mark of the match at Celtic Park to pick up the girls for their dental appointment,.
I can't believe that there are some FA Cup 1st Round matches that haven't been settled yet but the Blades have taken the lead against Crewe.
Sorry about the weather. Will you be able to fly up to Boston? Harlingen might be a nice winter home for you.
Anya runs out of pitch there as he skips by Clyne.
Doesn't look good - that's what happens when conferences are scheduled for the middle of November. I won't miss it.
A rare Ireland corner and pushed away by Guzan
I noticed that. The First Round replays are tonight and tomorrow. I doubt if any of those sides have multiple internationals.
Great save by thew DC United keeper as the U.S were caught out by a long ball and Alex Pearce heads over from the corner.
England sloppy from the corner then but the shot coming in was blocked out.
I agree. It doesn't make sense to schedule conferences in November. Harlingen isn't looking so bad, mate. You're always welcome if you get frozen out
Anya wins a corner for the Jocks. The speedster looks rather lively.
Cheers, mate - we're likely to have a snow day tomorrow on campus.
Horrible through ball from Wellie intended for Roon , who made a great run. Roon should be used to that.
At least your students won't miss class while you're in Bean Town. I hope you enjoy a lobster on Elizabeth and I.
Naismith tried to buy a cheap one there by backing into Shaw - ref not impressed.
BAsed on the reaction of the locals, I would suggest that Wazza not book a holiday in Glasgow.
It was half hearted at best.
I'm not sure Wazza should be booking his tickets for France in summer of 2016. Several strikers ahead of him, IMHO.
Horrible clearance from Bill Hamid off a routine back pass.
The Jocks have a free kick now. Played short and deflected out.
I'm off for my meeting now.
I wish they were ahead of him in the pecking order now.
Cheers mate. I hope you're back for the second half.
The Jocks win a corner. The corner from Maloney is cleared then the Jocks win the ball back.
Beckerman booked for a hefty foul on Pilkington, who eventually shakes hands with Beckerman.
The Irish free kick is headed away for a throw.
The Irish free kick is headed away for a throw.
GOAL !!! 1- U.S DISKERUD SCORES AND PUTS THE U.S. BACK IN THE MIX.
Meyler horribly gave away possession in his half and Bedoya attempted a through ball forWondo. It broke to Jozy whose cross was headed down by Wondo and stabbed home by Diskerud past Shay Given.
Luke Shaw is down injured . Steven Whittaker accidentally stepped on his foot.
OH!!! Off the bar by Jozy . The Irish were fooled by a long diagonal cross. Bedoya rushed to keep it in play and passed to Jozy, who nearly scored.
Wondo wins a corner off Alex Pearce. Nice pass from Bedoya.
Timmy Chandler has a cross headed out for another corner. Into stoppage time.
The seventh U.S. corner is headed away and it's 1-1 at the half. The U.S. dominated the last few minutes.
It's still 0-0 at Celtic Park. Lots of commitment, but few chances for either side.
GOAL !!! THE OX GIVES ENGLAND THE LEAD.
The Gooner will take great pleasure from the goal as Wilshere crossed for the Ox to head home as he got free of his marker. Wee Gordon will not be pleased that the shortest man in the England squad scored with a free header.
Naughty by Charlie Mulgrew on Milner and fortunate not to be booked.
The travelling England fans are in full voice now.
High and wide by Maloney off a long Scotland possession.
Bobby Wood will come on for Wondo.
Maloney wins a free kick off of Wilshere in a decent position.
The second half is underway from the Aviva. The free kick from Maloney is cleared.
A minute of stoppage time at Celtic PArk
England are one up at the half in a half of few chances.
Jozy was through on goal and was stopped thanks to a kick save by Shay Given.
Timmy Chandler did well to clear away a dangerous cross from Pilkington for a corner.
GOAL 2-1 IRELAND ROBBIE BRADY BEAT BILL HAMID AT THE NEAR POST.
Fabian Johnson was trying to be too fancy by his own corner flag and instead of clearing the ball, lost possession under pressure from Stephen Quinn. He gave the ball away to Robbie Brady , who played a one two with McGoldrick then beat Bill Hamid at the near post.
A great debut for McGoldrick , who has assisted on both goals. Aiden McGeady is on for Anthony Stokes.
Christie wins a corner off of Beasler from a pass by Pilkington.
A corner from Brady and a header is blocked. An attempted U.S. break comes to nothing.
Wee Gordon rings in the changes prior to the second half kickoff. It looks like three changes.
Fletch , Jim Morrison ,and Craig Gordon on. Woy with a pair of changes. Adam Lallana on for Downing.and Jags on for Cahill. Craig Gordon's first international appearance in four years., The second half is underway.
Not sure who came off for the Jocks other than David Marshall. Charlie Mulgrew booked for a foul on Ox.
Jurgen witha change as Greg Garza is on for Mireelas.
GOAL !!! ENGLAND GO TWO UP THE FREE KICK BROKE TO WILSHERE HIS CORSS CAME OFF SEVERAL JOCKS AND IT BOUNCED OFF THE GROUND AND WAS THEN HEADED IN BY ROON.
It will be hard for the Jocks to come back from two down.
Jim Morrison came on for Chris Martin.
Naismith wins a free kick off of Clyne.
Fraser Forster does well to tip over a header from Russell Martin off the free kick. The corner is cleared.
That's it for me. I have to leave to take the girls to the dentist. I will DVR the match from the Aviva. Sad that I can't do the same with the match from Celtic Park. Sigh!!
Cheers lads!
I'm back just in time to see Wayne Rooney get his brace. He's up to 46 now - two behind Gary Lineker and three behind Bobby Charlton and the record.
