Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good morning Robert
I hope I that I am joining you for the duration today... I have been a bit of a no show as of late
Teams in the tunnel... come on you TOON!!
Teams in the tunnel now with AC/DC's "Back in Black" pumping. And now the Theme from "Local Hero." Nice!
Good morning mate. Sorry I won't be around this morning. I'm currently on the bus headed to an academic meet , using the school Wi-Fi on a foggy, muggy morning.
Wahay! Great to have you on board, mate. You've been missed.
Good morning UWS. I hope Newcastle will be singing to the Toon of a victory.
Sorry you won't be around MUR
Glad to be here BD
Have a good day at the meeting, mate. We'll catch you later.
And the Magpies get us underway at SJP.
We are off
Geordie hero Chris Waddle doing the color today - well done, NBC!
I will have Wi-Fi until I get off the bus. I will follow the updates from you two.
Chelski predictably making the early running with Newcastle dropping deep already.
Thanks UWS. I will be around tomorrow.
Heard a fascinating question listening to Talksport yesterday
What two players have scored a goal in every minute of a 90 minute match?
Trips to Geordie Land on consecutive weekends for Chelsea and hopefully equally frustrating for them.
That's a really good trivia question, mate. I'll put my thinking cap on for that one.
Alan Shearer and Andy Cole?
If I'm wrong can Cliff Clavin help?
Good guesses, MUR.
no and no
This is worldwide
I'm going to go with some guys who scored boatloads of goals - how about Pele and Cristiano Ronaldo?
Ronaldo is one
Still 0-0?
Oh - Willian is inches away from striking first for the Blues.
I think he just scored recently in the 7th minute to get is complete set
Messi has only about 5 more minutes to go
Answer is current
Is Pele the other?
Yes! I'm off to a good start. How about Messi?
Neymar, Jr.
As foggy as Lakenheath this morning.
Bit of a stalemate so far - Newcastle are packing the midfield with Colback and Tiote.
To equal Ronaldo's achievements Messi must net in the 1st, 2nd, 10th, 14th, 15th, 46th and 69th minutes of a game
Nice run by Hazard now but the finish didn't match it.
Klose?
Good news but lots of footie to play. Look what happened to the Spuds on Wednesday.
How about Didier Drogba?
Did you see that Blyth Spartans(a name from the past) beat Hartlepool in the Cup and will be in the 3rd Round.
The draw is on Monday
Robben?
Soccer Saturday
http://ifirstrowus.eu/watch/304239/1/watch--soccer-saturday.html
I did not. Awesome. Ha ha,Jeff!
I will be around for another twenty minutes.
Oh - Willian again! So close, should have hit the target with the bender.
All six chances on goal to the visitors so far - cor!
If Hartlepool get relegated and Blyth are promoted then they will meet in the Conference next season.
Blyth was behind at half
WHo do Leeds have today?
Went to The Birdman last night
If either one of you like it, I will be forced to sign off right now!!!!
Of course, my two arty farty friends like it!
Leeds at Postman Road today.
Ta for the link, mate.
Fabregas has a shot deflected just wide.
All Chelsea!
Maybe it will be the same as Wednesday. Spurs having all the chances and then boom
Do you want the other player?
I was at Jacquelyn's choir concert then dropped Melanie and her friend off at a parade. I was too busy.
Sure - I'm curious.
I was thinking the same about Chelsea.
Zlatan Ibra
Ronaldo

Zlatan Ibra
http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/after-record-breaking-goal-for-sweden-zlatan-ibrahimovic-has-now-scored-in-every-minute-of-a-football-match/
Yes. I give up.
How could I forget about him?
José naughty on Instagram.
The Toon are clueless going forward!!!
Waddle just said the key
"No quality!!"
What about instagram
Still 0-0?
I was just about to guess Zlatan. Bugger!
Liked those trivia bits I posted?
Hull City the only english team that have no parts of their name that can be covered in!
Apparently Balo posted a naughty message on Instagram and is up on FA charges.
Have you seen GOAL typed!!!
Bloody Boring!!
Bob mentioned Jose on Instagram in his first comment.
I know that with Balo but what about Jose?
Do you know the part of a letter that is enclosed is actually called?
It has a name
oooh, Newcastle could have scored there!
Bury man bury it!!
No. I did not. I'm blogging from my phone on a bus. It's hard to type fast and I can only see a few comments. Sorry I missed it.
From CNN: "The FA is looking into Balotelli's reposting of a Nintendo character Super Mario image that underneath had the words "jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a jew."
A corny pun heading your way. That goal was to the Toon of a sour note.
I can't imagine that Jose is even on Instagram. Gooner has called for teams to ban players from social networking after several Arse players got into trouble.
What does Jose have to do with it though?
New lows for Balo.
Jose doesn't have to do with it - I just think that MUR misread the first post in the thread as he's riding on a bus, right mate?
I'm off the bus. It was great chatting. I will be around tomorrow. Cheers!
Cheerio, mate - enjoy your conference!
Sorry Bob. You are correct. It's tough on a bus.
Got it
Do you know the name of the part of the letter
Newcastle had a break but no support
It was just asking for a runner coming down the right to pas to .. ala Carlos Alberto
How about Brentford possibly going Top of the Table
I don't mate - what is it?
Two years ago was when they missed the pen to go up and then conceded down the other end.
Get promoted the following season and now almost in the Prem!!!
It's called the Counter!!!
Don't know why
Decent effort from Oscar with an overhead kick
Half time
Chelsea will still win
Rob Elliot is hurt at the end of the half
Lucky he didn't have a shot to save
Looks like Elliot has been nobbled - might not be able to continue in the second half.
But they've held Chelski to 0-0 at the interval.
FA Cup Second Round today
One thing that annoys me about Sky is they almost seem to think the FA Cup doesn't exist cuz they don't cover it
We're back on for the second half and Newcastle have replaced their keeper.
Rob Elliot has had to be replaced
That is annoying - the FA Cup is still magic to me.
What English player has one won two European Cups with two different teams?
Me too
Teams should take it more seriously too
Sissoko gets the first yellow card.
David Beckham, no?
Looks like Pardew is going to be positive and launch Pappis Cisse.
no
He didn't win it with Real
Agreed about the FA Cup. I do seem to remember that there was a certain team in red who set a poor precedent by not defending their FA Cup title electing to play in the bogus FIFA World Club Championship.
The bloke played a grand total of ten minutes in both Finals
Hmmmm....how about wee Michael Owen?
Chelski starting to look a bit vulnerable.
I agree with you about United in 2000 but they did it for a World Cup bid but that is always used an excuse but why does that make other teams not wanting to a major trophy!!
Never won it at all
Left Pool the season they won it and never won it with Real
Oh - Obi Wan should have stuck that header in!
YES!!!!!!!!
NEWCASTLE SCORE!!!!!
I'll text David
GOAL! Cisse does the biz off the bench!
That was coming, to be fiar. Great ball over from Ameobi but Chelski's center backs bollixed it and Cisse was in the right place to stab home.
1-0 Toon!
Chelsea will still win of course
How times have changed
Isn't it weird that it looks weird to see someone wearing black boots
Oh - Sissoko nearly made it 2-0!
Andre "Don't Call Me" Schurrle coming on.
How about Chrissy Waddle - did he win two European Cups with Liverpool and Marseille? Or Real?
Waddle never played for Pool
Did you mean Maca?
Your lot visit Portman Road... they are second!!!
Oh yeah - sorry, I meant Macca. How about him?
nope
Not the right time period
Spanish 19 year old right back Hector Bellerin starts for the Arse
Drogba coming on... bugger
I've just asked your question to Kate and she has no idea - she's useless.
Oh - off the post by Hazard!!!
GOAL! And just like that Newcastle romp down the pitch and Cisse knocks in the killer goal. Jose not amused.
2-0!
Newcastle down to ten men - Stephen Taylor off for two cards. What drama!
I miss everything while sitting on the loo
She's hopeless
Drogba scores... they're not going to lose it now
GOAL! Didier Drogba strikes - game on!
Bloody hell... I knew it was going to happen
Newcastle will lose their composure
Time running out for the Blues.
Bloody hell... SIX MINUTES OF ADDED TIME
Ian Grainger: Steven Taylor has all the attributes to be a great player, apart from a brain.
Oh - JT nearly strikes. Nearly out of time now.
Terry goes close!
Still over two to go
Ivanovic blazes over and that's got to be it.
Taking forever to kick the goal kick... more time will be added... stop it
Chelsea frustrated with the time wasting but that is exactly what Chelsea would do
Waddle makes sense
IT'S OVER!!!
That's it! A famous win for the Toon!
Chelski's unbeaten run is over.
How ironic that Chelsea fail to keep unbeaten for a team record 25 games... they have reached 24 twice!!
United for the win!!
City wins... three back
United wins... 8 back
United for the LEAGUE
Do you want to know the answer?
It's fun to dream, mate. Well done.
YNWA being blurted out at Anfield
We're about to get going
I have a choice of all the matches but there are not any sexy ones today!
GOAL.... Stoke have scored!!!
Crouch!
19 seconds!!!
Goal at Portman Road... TO LEEDS!!!!!
Cambridge fall behind at home to Mansfield in the Cup
Big Club in Yorkshire take the lead at Ewood Park
Looking up for the other team in East Anglia
Norwich take the lead at Wigan
West Brom have a penalty at Hull
Arsenal hate going to Stoke - and Crouchi has scored early doors.
West Brom misses the pen!!!
Sorry, mate - computer troubles. Had to reboot.
McGreggor of Hull have saved all three pens he has faced in the Prem
Welcome back
YES! Antenucci again; he's on a tear.
Derby take the lead at Pride Park against Brighton
I didn't type the goal scorer cuz I had no idea how to spell it
We're up to 14th suddenly!
Uh oh
1-1 down Portman Road
Cambridge tie it up too
Luke Chadwick with the goal... he was a United player
Forest losing at home to Charlton
What on earth happened to them!!
Another goal at Portman Road. Bugger! To the Tractor Boys.
Sunderland with a bloody short corner!!!
I agree - I picked Forest for promotion. They're really disappointing me.
Do you want the answer to the Double European Cup winner
Derby two up
They look good
Should have gone up last year
They were one of my picks
Swansea and Liverpool are the two teams that have not scored from a corner yet this season
Rovers tie it up against Wednesday on Saturday
Brentford losing at Hudders
Derby now three up
I should have picked Derby. I'm rubbish on the promotion picks. I bloody picked Fulham!
Derby bouncing back from the hiding that we gave them at their patch last week.
Boro take the lead at the Den
THe answer to what British player won two European Cup medals with two different clubs
Jimmy Rimmer... back up to Stepney in '68 and replaced by Spinks after ten minutes for Villa in '82
Uh oh... Leeds are now behind
Could The Tractor Boys be going up!!!
From the Spot
Where are all the Prem goals... had one after 19 seconds and then nowt
Bloody hell! We're down now. What's happened?
Jimmy Rimmer, eh? I would have never guessed that one in a million years.
Do you remember, "Oi Jimmy, want a sweetie?"
Boro two up
Got any plain Yorkies!!!!
Stupid challenge in the box for Town's second
Ipswich could have scored again too
Ooh - I'd love a plain Yorkie.
Jimmy didn't want any!!
We are going to a British store in Albany today... I'll buy some!!!
He got plenty nonetheless.
I got some fruit pastilles at Wegman's recently.
Stoke are two up!!!
Good day today so far for the Mancs
Have Pool lose would make it the triple crown
Boro three up at the Den
What is that store you sent me a menu for
Completely forgot about it
Gooner will not be happy with that.
Wolves, who have lost four in a row, have take the lead at Molineux against high flying Bournemouth
