2016 Grammy Award Ceremony Live!
It's Grammy Night in Hollywood tonight, folks. Now we all know that the Grammy organization doesn't always award our favorite artists, tending to hand out trophies to those who have lined their pockets over the past year. So - expect Taylor Swift to be up at the podium quite a bit tonight. Still - every year there is a moment (sometimes two or three) that reward watching the three hour marathon, whether its Adele belting out "Rolling in the Deep" fresh from vocal surgery or Stevie Wonder jamming with Daft Punk last year. So, if you're so inclined, join me in the festivities this evening. I'll look forward to a bit of musical banter with you.

Evening folks - the evening has kicked off with a Taylor Swift performance, just as predicted. She seems to be hooked up with the geezers out of .fun. It's a long way from her country days.
In case you're keeping score at home, 'll be rooting for D'Angelo, Karrin Allyson, Courtney Barnett, Kendrick Lamar, Alabama Shakes and Tony Bennett/Bill Charlap tonight.
Host LL Cool J coming out now - a safe choice for host.
Good evening, Bob. I'm relegated to the bedroom because Elizabeth is watching The Bachelor
Good evening, Bob. I'm relegated to the bedroom because Elizabeth is watching The Bachelor
Colbert, a Bob favorite, gets a cameo
Rap album category first, presented by Ice Cube and his kid. Should be a cinch for Kendrick.
Yep - Kendrick wins his first of many tonight.
Evening, mate. Thanks for joining me. If it's any consolation, we're DVRing The Bachelor to watch it tomorrow night. No spoilers!
Best in Rap is To Pimp a Butterfly. Were you rooting for them?
No problem, mate. In not watching. I'm in the bedroom blogging on the phone
Hopefully, you're by the fireplace keeping warm
I appreciate the effort, mate. But ask Elizabeth who her top three contestants are. Ours are Caela, Lauren B and Becka.
We're supposed to get 5-8 inches tonight and another 5-8 inches tomorrow during the day. Brrrr!
All the pomp and circumstance with Carrie Underwood singing her requisite song.
The AC was running. It was in the low 90s here. You could thaw in two minutes.
Arianna Grande is on.How obnoxious.
The Weeknd, that dreadful sounding Lionel Richie tribute and The Eagles are coming up now. Might be time for a break.
I agree - Arrianna Grande is pure pop fluff.
This guy's barnet reminds of the horrible New Romantic new wave haircuts from the 80s. He would have been a good fit for the Flock of Nimrods.
Arianna Grande is on.How obnoxious.
LOL.Jacquelyn was asking me if I would like that haircut. Surely, she was jesting.
Might be a good look on you, mate. At least you've got the hair for it!
Cheers.I can look like a frightened dog.
Now. Celina Gomez. Is this a reunion of obnoxious mediocre child actors that were on kids shows on Nickelodeon.
Now. Celina Gomez. Is this a reunion of obnoxious mediocre child actors that were on kids shows on Nickelodeon.
Now it's the Best Country album category - not really my cuppa but I'd like to see Kacey Musgraves win it. She's a great songwriter.
A night of retro haircuts as Gary Sinise and late 70s curly hairdoo announce the Country Music Grammy. Chris Stapleton wins.Frank would be proud.
Sparky was banished to the bedroom for barking during the Bachelor. He was asking for his dog treat. Now fighting with Fred.
Now the irksome James Corden Bleu
Yellow card for Sparky, eh?
Oh dear - it's the Lionel Richie tribute.
Hoh Hum. Lionel Richie music with Not a Legend performing.
Second yellow for Sparky and first for Fred.Elizabeth needs to understand they're not from Bristol.
I have to admit it - this Demi Lovato girl is killing it with "Hello." Hate the song - but that was pretty good.
A hat-trick of Nickelodeon child actors.
Along with Ariana Grande and Celina Gomez, she acted on Nik shows the girls watched when in elementary school.
OK. Enough of the Lionel Richie. It's actually him on stage. Let's get on with the awards.
Dave Growl from Foo Fighters may regret being shown on camera grooving to Lionel.
The tedious Ryan Seacrest is board chair? Do they mean bored?
Girl Crush is receiving a nomination as witnessed at the Staples Center.
Do you have a girl crush?
Quite like that Little Big Town song.
A tribute to Maurice White. Very nice.
Agreed - always happy to see Stevie show up.
Song of the Year now - probably one for T Sweezy, but I'm hoping that it'll go to Kendrick.
Song of the year. The winner is Thinking Out Loud.
Well done, Stevie as always and a great reminder That things need to be accessible to people with disabilities.
Sweet - it's the Eagles tribute, with Jackson Browne on the vocals subbing for the recently deceased Glenn Frey.
A tribute to Glenn Frye.
We'll be missing the Men in Blazers.
Only Jackson Browne could.
I'm waiting on the tribute to the thin white duke.
Good evening Bivalve. How have you been?
Evening, Bivalve - are you enjoying it so far?
Agreed, MUR - the Bowie tribute should be cool.
Recovering from a second day of skiing with a fine brew, a roaring fire, and the LOB. Couldn't be better!
Can't beat that. I'm under a ceiling fan after being out in 93 degree heat today. Trying to stay cool.
I saw the pictures - sounds like you've been having a blast. A cold blast but a blast nonetheless.
Bob's beloved Colbert is on stage.
Awesome - the Hamilton performance. I'm loving it!
I just saw the pictures. Looks like a chilly, but great time.
Me too. They deserve a Grammy.
I wish I could score tix to Hamilton. Impossible.
I have been informed that there is a football match on NBCSN
Me too.I wouldn't be surprised I'd tickets would need to be purchased a year in advance.
Definitely impossible. I'm just hoping the touring show will come to Shea's in Buffalo eventually.
Wow - Kendrick. This is epic.
An impressive performance.
Seth McFarland presenting for best musical theater album. It's Hamilton and rightly so.
Do you think that the whole Gwen Stefani video was really live? How did they do the roller skating thing???
Best Rock Performance goes to Alabama Shakes.
I doubt it I'm sure they did their fair share of editing.
Now it's Adele.
Nice to see Alabama Shakes get their just desserts. A really humble rock and roll band.
Surgery needed on that piano, stat!
Love this tune. Nice choice.
She's tedious Next.
I was glad they won,but I'm not President of the Adele fan club.
Not sure she could hear herself. Off pitch the whole time, which is not like her. Man, can she belt it.
The sound was horrible during that performance. The organizers to apologize to Adele for botching it.
I'm delighted to have regained control of the living room telly not that the dreaded Bachelor is over. It's rather Bristol.
I usually don't listen to Adele, which may explain my displeasure.
That's fair enough. The nice thing about an evening like this is that there's something for just about everyone.
I'm enjoying a number of these performances, but shouldn't they be giving away some awards??
Indeed - there have to be a couple coming up.
BOO!!!! It's Justin Bieber. Get him off the stage.
And now they've lost me. Bieber?? Really?
I agree, Bivalve. I would like to see some awards being presented too. Get Bieber off stage.
So now they get the sound right for this Canadian wanker?
Cries of disdain here for the gratuitous damage to a perfectly good guitar. I'm sure the other musicians on the stage are just so proud to be working with him.
LOL, Bob. You make a great point. They should put him on the Bachelor instead of the Grammies.
Cries of derision for the ridiculous use of an umlaut. Ha!
Buh bye.
Good riddance.
Now time for the Grammy for Best New Artist
It goes to Meghan Trainor.
Nooo!!!!! Meghan Trainor is a joke. It's official. I'm just staying up for Gaga and Bowie and then I'm done.
A very trim Sam Smith with the New Artist award.
Don't like her at all.
Did you notice in her acceptance speech how she thanked everyone for making her a star, not for recognizing her talent??
Elizabeth didn't like the phony crying and couldn't wait for her to go away. Sounds like she agrees with Bob. I agree with Bivalve.
Cool - here's Gaga with the Bowie tribute. Should be interesting.
YES!!! I've been waiting all evening for the tribute to Bowie! Ground Control to Major Tom.
I'm going Gaga over this performance.
What's with the Elvis Fit. Otherwise, I like it.
And Gaga doesn't disappoint!
Too choppy between the different tunes.
It's always a party when Nile Rodgers shows up. Cool!
Great job of doing fame and Let's Dance.
It appears to be an all-female brass section!
I was going to go to bed, but not Bonnie Raitt is coming up. Sigh.
That was a highlight. It's off to Bedfordshire for me. Thanks for keeping me company tonight. Enjoy the rest of the festivities.
BTW, I'm drinking the last beer in the fridge. Don't tell Elizabeth.
Good night everyone. It was great enjoying the pleasure of your company.
It's Bivalve's beloved Bonnie Raitt on stage.
A tribute to the great B.B. King . Bob and Bivalve are missing out on a great tribute.
I was glad they won,but I'm not President of the Adele fan club.
