The Champions League is Back!
The Champions League enters the knock-out stage today with two first leg matches, including a cracker between PSG and Chelski, two money-bags clubs who would have wanted to avoid each other at this stage. For Chelski, this one couldn't be more important, as an early exit will likely condemn them to a European-free schedule next season. Join me from 2:45 to follow this one. Cheers!

Teams in the tunnel now at the Stade de France.
Zlatan has just given me a wink - cheeky bugger!
It's all very chummy between the two sides in the tunnel - don't like to see that.
Good afternoon, Bob. I'm here to join you for a Tale of Two Cities.
Afternoon, mate - how's your day going?
A determined start by the hosts - Chelski very much on the back foot from the off.
It looks like a sluggish start by Chelski
Lucas Mora is wide with a long range effort
A mixed day. Quiet at work, but found out that I need to replace the condensing unit , which looks to be a major expense. We'll need to run the air a little each day as it's expected to be well into the 80s every day through Sunday, so it's a priority
PSG players are playing a really high pressing game that Chelski is struggling to come to grips with
Great tackle by Thiago Silva on his compatriot, Diego Costa , who went on a run on the counter.
Zlatan is tripped by Willian after showing a trick or two.
That was Chelski's first break through Costa well snuffed out by Thiago Silva.
The curling free kick from Zlatan had too much curl and really didn't trouble Courtois
Maxwell was off in an instant after being set up by Matuidi and his pass into the box was just inches off and gathered by Courtois
Did you see my post on FB this morning?
Great tackle by Azpi on Lucas Mora for a corner off a great slide rule pass from Verratti. I guess it was a goal kick
Blackburn Rovers have taken the lead against the team from your house
Zlatan booked for foul on Obi Wan. There didn't seem much in it. Harsh , IMHO.
I just noticed it, mate. I think we'd take the fog over the foot and a half of snow we've got on the ground today. Still snowing, btw.
Chelski getting a bit more adventurous now, but I suspect that Hiddink would be more than happy with a 0-0 draw.
Notts County are twqo up at Jeff's team while there are two matches in the Scottish Cup.
Hibs have taken the l;ead vs Hearts while it's Killie 1 Rangers 1
Chelski nearly score As Kevin Trapp turns a header from Costa on to the bar off a great cross from Ali Babba Top Raman . Trapp caught the corner
I think I would too. The fog lifted and now it's warm and sunny. Hopefully the snow ends soon and hopefully Spring isn't more than a month away
You will be pleased to hear that Scunny have taken the lead at the Lion's Den.
You will be delighted to hear that Bury have taken the lead vs the Evil Blades while Crewe have come from two down at Rochdale to make it Desmond
Hazard tripped by Lucas Mora . Ivanovic then crossed to Ivanovic , who chested down the pass and shot into the side netting
Zlatan nearly gives PSG the lead as he headed a cross into the ground that then bounced up and on top of the net.
I am delighted to hear that the Blades and Lions are both suffering. Long may it continue.
That was a close call. I see this one being decided by one goal. Chelski could use one of those flukey Willian free kick efforts tonight.
Great tackle by Sideshow on Hazard on a Chelski break
well wide by Di Maria. It's a feeling of Deja Vu.
Agreed. PSG were dominant the first twenty minutes, but Chelski have been frustrating the home team since then.
Di Maria wins a corner off of Azpi. Courtois easily catches the corner from Di Maria. Sounds familiar
Obi Wan with a requisite booking as he tripped Lucas Mora from behind just outside the D
GOAL !!! ZLATAN SHOOTS THE FREE KICK THROUGH THE SO CALLED WALL, WRONG FOOTING COURTOIS IT DEFLECTED OFF A COMBINATION OF OBI WAN AND CAHILL.
It was bound to happen, wasn't it? Chelski have a hole to dig out of now.
Dick York takes the lead vs Exeter City.
It will be tough unless they will be content with a one goal deficit, thinking that they can do the business at the Bridge. Obi Wan showing himself to be a true liability
willian fouled by Thiago Silva just outside the box. He went down rather easily.,
The wall stood firm unlike the Chelsea wall and the free kick from Willian is off the wall and out for a goal kick. Useless corner by Willian
Pedro wins a corner off of Matuidi
GOAL !!! 1-1 . A COLLECTOR'S ITEM AS OBI WAN SCORES A RARE GOAL. A VOLLEY OFF THE CORNER FROM WILLIAN
That was the last kick of the half and what a time to score as it's 1-1 at the half.
Great time as always to score. That one was a collector's item, wasn't it, like one of my goals. Half time and a decent return for Hiddink and co. so far.
I have a class, so I probably own't be around for the second half . it was great chatting. Cheers!
My stream went out during half-time and it took a bit to get it back. Fox Soccer 2 Go having some problems this afternoon.
Still 1-1 at the 70th minute mark; this would be an excellent result for Chelski.
Cavani has fired PSG into a narrow 2-1 lead. Still okay for Chelski, unless they concede another goal. The time can't run out quickly enough for them now.
FULL TIME: Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Chelsea
And that’s that! Chelsea came so close to a brilliantly determined draw. But Edinson Cavani’s late winner has given the French champions an advantage that, on balance, was probably deserved. Chelsea will be happy to still be right in this tie, though. The second leg at Stamford Bridge promises to be another classic. It certainly will be if it’s anything like this highly entertaining encounter.
Cheerio, lads!
