England v. Holland Live!
Tonight's match-up between the Three Lions and the Brilliant Orange at Wemberley may technically be listed as a friendly, but there is plenty of import to it. First, after the untimely death of Johan Cruyff, tonight's match will be a tribute to the great man's legacy. Second, Fleet Street went absolutely goggins after England's win in Berlin on Friday, so this will be a chance to possibly tamp down expectations before this summer rolls around. Let's hope it's a suitably tribute to Johan tonight. See you all around 3pm here at the LOB.

Good afternoon. I should be around for about half of the first half. I concur that I am hoping for a fitting tribute to the great one.
Afternoon, MUR - great to have you on board for the first half. Are you able to watch the match? If so, what channel is it on?
The teams now lining up for the festivities at Wemberley:
England: Forster, Walker, Smalling, Stones, Rose, Drinkwater, Barkley, Milner, Lallana, Vardy, Sturridge.
Subs: Clyne, Heaton, Walcott, Cahill, Jagielka, Henderson, Dier, Kane, Alli, Welbeck.
Holland: Zoet, Veltman, Bruma, Blind, Willems, Wijnaldum, Bazoer, Afellay, Promes, Janssen, Memphis.
I am watching the match on foxsoccer2go, so it must be on FS1 or FS 2.
Some strange kits with the Dutch clad in all royal blue with sky blue socks and England in all white with red socks
They're off after a moment of silence for the Great One
Vardy wins a corner after great England pressing
A terrible corner from Milner as the ball curled out of play then back in
Lovely jubbly! Thanks, mate!
The Three Lions get away with one early on as Weltman went past Danny Rose and appeared to be fouled in the box by the former LUFC Academy player, but the ref gave a goal kick
Great tackle by Brouma on Vardy for a corner. Now that's what I call sweepping
Cheers. Glad you are able to watch
Yeah - probably a pen given away by Danny. We got away with that one.
High and wide from Memphis as he made a 180 degree turn to get the shot off from the throw.
It must be the luck of the LUFC Academy.
I won't be able to join you on Saturday because my number sense students have their all district meet, which is their last meet of the season. I will be around on Sunday
Nice tribute in the 14th minute for the great Johan. Classy.
A moment's applause for the Great One.
Ah, well. Good luck to you and your students on Saturday.
Fraser Forster easily saves a shot from Affellay on a Dutch counter lead by Wijnaldum and Promes. The counter did show Promes.
Cheers mate.
Since Danny Blind is in charge and Daley Blind is a player with the Dutch National Team, does that mean they will be running down blind alleys?
It doesn't look promising after Promes is down from a collision with Danny Rose. He's off for treatment
Boom, boom! We can only hope. I take it that you're not a fan of his work at OT?
This one is starting much as the one against Germany did the other night, at a walking pace.
Cheers, mate. Will you be around for the U.S. vs Guat this evening?
I have noticed that. I wonder if this one will come to life or supply late dramatics like that match
I'm very sorry, but my last class is about to begin. I will join you for the U.S. vs Guat this evening if you will be around. Cheers.
Could be touch and go for this evening - what time is it on?
Oh - cleared off the line there by a steadfast Holland defense. England starting to pile on the pressure. Holland look rather ordinary tonight.
Not a lot of promise from Promes tonight - he jobs off injured after a half hour.
Oh - Barkley should have buried that one. England should be one or two up.
Post a thread and I'll try to join in.
I'm home now and England have come crashing back to reality with a 1-2 loss at Wemberley.
That man Jamie Vardy scored another brilliant goal after a lovely team move just before half time. Holland equalized through a penalty given away by Danny Rose who had a 'mare tonight. And then Narsingh finished England off.
Over and out from me tonight.
