Battles at the Top of the Table
Who would have thought that Leicester v. West Ham would be a top of the table clash at this point of the season - that's how crazy this season has been. We start at the King Power Stadium today, as the Foxes are four matches away from a historic title. West Ham are still in the mix for a European spot. Later we get Arsenal trying to firm up their Champions League spot against Palace. It should be an absorbing morning - join me here on the LOB!

Morning, chaps - the teams are in the tunnel at the KP:
Leicester (4-4-2) Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs; Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, Albrighton; Vardy, Okazaki.
Substitutes: Schwarzer, King, Amartey, Schlupp, Gray, Ulloa, Wasilewski.
West Ham (4-3-3) Adrian; Antonio, Ogbonna, Reid, Cresswell; Obiang, Kouyate, Noble; Moses, Emenike, Payet.
Substitutes: Randolph, Byram, Tomkins, Collins, Lanzini, Valencia, Carroll.
Good morning mate. I'm here to join you for all the action.
Interesting there that Leicester are unchanged while Slaven has traded out two-goal hero Andy Carroll with Emenike up top for no apparent reason.
A cracking atmosphere at the King Power Stadium.
hat's an odd one. I guess he feels the two big center halves can handle Any Carroll with no problem. They've shown that throughout the season
They're off from a sunny King Power Stadium.
Morning, MUR! Great to have you on board. We're away at the KP.
They are from Dean Court too.
Danny Simpson fouls Victor Moses.
Crunching table from Danny Simpson straight from the off. WH can swing a free kick in now through Payet.
Oh - Leicester escape by the barest of angles there. Payed with a simple chip in and Kouyate directed his header onto the post and then the other post. Somehow it never went in. Wow!
OH MY GIDDY AUNT !!!! THE FREE KICK FROM PAYET WAS HEADED BY THE COYOTE AND WENT OFF THE INSIDE OF BOTH POSTS , BUT FAILED TO CROSS THE LINE.
Emeneke went on a solo run and put through Payet , who sliced his shot well wide.
I'm not sure why Slaven is upset with the fourth official.
Great start to the match. It's beautiful in Leicester today - and beautiful in WNY here. I'll be speaking at a rally for Bernie Sanders this afternoon. Can't wait!
Robbie Earle with your theory of why Andy Carroll isn't playing today. You should be doing the color commentary, mate!
Glad to hear you have great weather and hope the rally goes well.It is gloomy and overcast here, but with summer like warmth and humidity.
Ogbonna fouls Okozaki near the corner flag
Ogbanno flattened the little Japanese Okazaki and The Foxes now have a free kick oppo out wide right.
Thanks mate. I try my best
Oh - Huth spurned a free header there! How did he miss?
I'm off to wake up Katie - back in a tick.
OH!!! The free kick from Albrighton is headed inches wide by Huth
Cheers mate.
Drinkwater over with a long range effort off a solo run from Mahrez.
I'm back. You may have noticed that the Golden Boot stakes tightened yesterday, with Aguero's astonishing hat-trick away to Chelski. Here's what it looks like now:
Kane - 22 goals
Aguero - 21 goals
Vardy - 21 goals
Lukaku - 19 goals
The commentator references the controversies about refereeing in WH matches. There was a lot of chatter about that on the 606 podcast last week, with several Hammers fans talking conspiracies.
Drinkwater to float a free kick in now....
Huth fouled his man and WH have it back.
Vardy dives in and just escapes a yellow card; Obiang isn't happy about it.
Finally....couldn't sign in to my account!!!
This was my first comment of the day
Hey Boys
Finally got my computer up and running in the living room
What an escape for the Foxes
As a certain commentary from May 1999
NAME ON THE TROPHY
Fuchs called for a foul on Victor Moses.
GOAL!!!
JAMIE VARDY'S HAVING A PARTY!!!
GOAL! Vardy hits goal number 22!!!
GOAL !!!! JAMIE VARDY PUTS THE FOXES IN THE LEAD.
Great team goal starting with Kasper lobbing out to Mahrez, who found a gut-busting run by Kante. Kante slipped it wide to Vardy who shifted it onto his left and banged it in.
The KP Stadium is buzzing! 1-0!
Morning, UWS - great to have you on board. Name on the trophy for Leicester then?
They could be champions this time next week!
Spurs lose at Stoke and Leicester beat Swansea at home...there is the nine point swing
It all started with Kasper catching a free kick from Payet . His long throw found Mahrez , who found Kante. He went on an unusual solo run and found Vardy, who scored with a great finish past Adrian.
Good morning, UWS. Great to have you on board.
Relegation... two big scores yesterday for the north easterners.
Haven't heard anything one mention this but the table from last season ended like this
15 Newcastle
16 Sunderland
17 Aston Villa
18 Hull City
19 Burnley
20 QPR
Why is anyone surprised that those three are at the bottom. They were the worst of those who survived!
Now Vardy and Kane are tied with 22.
So, in the GB stakes, Vardy is tied with Kane on 22 goals. MY boy Aguero is one goal back. Kane still has a match to play against Stoke tomorrow in this round of matches.
Morgan and Emenike with some handbags. Referee calming things down.
Wes Morgan called for a foul on Emeneke . I didn' see anything wrong with that challenge.
Old Firm semi final just going to extra time
Rangers took the lead but Celtic tied it up in the second half
Apparently there a real sitter missed by the Hoops
West Ham have been on top here
That's a good point, UWS - I don't know why I thought Leicester would be bottom. What a numpty!
Good point, UWS. One of those three may escape in place of the Canaries. It's four teams with three spots available.
Can't believe how bad Chelsea were yesterday
City rolled over them... some champions!
Celtic should be the overwhelming favorites, but it's 1st vs 1st. Is that correct?
I think everyone did!!
They got 22 out 27 points last season
What is their record from their last 38 games?
I agree- I still think that West Ham could get something here and tighten up the race.
I saw that once I got homw. Bob should do a campaign rally in Chelsea.
Congrats on your 3-2 win yesterday
Could you have your United call my United and tell them how to score three goals in one game?
I didn't pick the Foxes for the drop, but I didn't pick them for a Euro spot either.
I can't believe we struggled to grind out a result against one of the worst teams in Premier League history.,
Atrocious!
Vardy in the book
LOL! I'll send Steve Evans your way. We can do a swap with Jose Mourinho.
Vardy booked for a foul on the Cyoyte. I guess it's for cumulative infractions.
I had a successful day when I left over yesterday. Does anyone want to hear about it.
winnie Reid booked for a naughty challenge on Okozaki
Robbie Savage has been angering Villa fans on the 606 by arguing that Villa are the worst side in Premiership history. Of course, he has a ulterior motive as he was on the Derby side that only got 11 points!
Rangers take the lead again
Rangers now lead the Hoops 2-1 in the Old Firm semi
Sure thing, mate - what were you up to?
That may be why he made that statement , but I agree with Robbie Savage that they are an atrocious side.
Bournemouth and Liverpool still at 0-0 half an hour in. I noticed that Klopp is playing a really experimental side today. The Premiership season is just about done for the Reds.
I traded in my car and got a new deal on Kia Forte. My father-in-law went with me and helped me get a really good deal.
His argument is that his Derby side tried but weren't good enough but that Villa haven't been trying since about Christmas.
Liverpool have a legitimate shot at winning the EL, IMHO. That would be a CL spot.
Nice one, mate - what kind of car is a Forte?
That's probably Klopp's thinking. That their Cup matches are more important than their league matches now.
That's a decent argument by Robbie Savage . He has a really good point.
It's a four sedan similar to the Huyndai Elantra and tad bit smaller than the Toyota Camry, but in the same category.
If Leicester win today, in the last 38 league games for Leicester they would have 85 points!! Losing only three games!
Leicester have only lost to Arsenal twice and Liverpool once!
A humdinger v Arsenal where they kept with them for most of the match. An undeserved loss at Anfield and the killer of a loss at the Em
Astonishing!
Good for you with the new motor!
Thanks UWS. I feel a sense of relief
That is an amazing run. And it started with them rescuing their Premiership lives at the end of last season. That was under Nigel Pearson and I thought they were mad to sack him in the summer. But then...this happened.
That's definitely title winning form by the Foxes . It's hard to deny them.
Sounds posh - nice one!
Mark Noble joins Winston Reid in the book now for that slide in on Drinkwater.
He was sacked for an off the field incident where some reserves/ apprentices , including his son put a video of them making racial remarks at Thai prostitutes on social media. It did not amuse the Thai owners. The manager never wins in those situations.
So much for the Tinerkman.. he keeps the same side every single week... love it
Thanks, mate . It's also about $5,000 less than the Camry.
Half time of Extra time
Rangers still lead 2-1
Agreed, UWS. He's done well.
Could be an all Championship Scots Cup Final.
I know - he's turned over a new leaf with Leicester. Perhaps he learned his lesson from his time at Pool?
Liverpool take the lead.
Liverpool, having made TEN changes from Thursday, have taken the lead at Dean Court
Firmino
Payet booked for a rash challenge on Vardy
Pool?
Chelsea
Firmino must be the only one that wasn't changed.
It's Desmond in Glasgow
First minute of the second half of extra time
I was thinking the same and he did well with Chelsea, laying the foundation for future success.
Payet wins a corner off of Danny Simpson
Huth heads away the corner. Well wide from long range from Antonio. A minute of stoppage time/.
Yeah - Chelski, not Pool.
Desmond love Old Firm Derbies.
The Foxes are one up at the half.
Half time
Half way to NINE points up
Half time at the KP - all on course for the Foxes. What a story!
Two nil Pool
Sturridge
Could Liverpool win the EL?
They seem to be on a roll
It would be good for England's coefficient(what ever that is)
City to win the CL too?
It's not out of the question they beat Real
Five clubs in the CL would be good
They do; I wouldn't put it past them. They knocked the favorite - Dortmund - out last week (and put the PPP into chaos by doing so), so there aren't a lot of big sides left (Sevilla?)
YIKES! Pool now two up. When did they score a second?
That would work for me, too. I've got no love for Real or Bayern or Atletico. Why not Citeh? I hope that Aguero is on a roll, too. I need the PPP points desperately!
I think Sevilla would be Pool's main competition.
I think I picked Aguero also. It appears that Yellows may do a Simon this year . The trophy could be heading to Norfolk, England.
How far away is Aguero from Kane and Vardy after yesterday's hat-trick
He's one goal behind.
Apparently, Rooney is fuming at LVG for subbing him yesterday
Why? He was invisible
I agree. I didn't see him do anything earth shattering.
It's going to spot kicks at Hampden Park
They're off to spot kicks int eh Old Firm semi
Andy Carroll on for the Hammers
The second half is underway as Andy Carroll is on for Obbiang.
He should have been on from the off, IMHO.
That change makes sense as the Hammers are chasing the game. They're basically going with a 4-4-2.
Why are West Ham so weird?
Two names for their ground. Boleyn Ground and Upton Park
Two nicknames. Hammers and Irons
It's a change of formation.
Rangers the first to miss
I have always wondered about that. Johnno may know.,
I've never understand the ground name, either. Pick a name already!
I would ban playing only one striker up front. 4-4-2 should be the default line-up.
Fuchs heads out for a Hammers corner.
Where is Johnno?
Listening to Talksport this week, they were saying in the last five years it's been hip to use the Boleyn Ground in the last five years
Always Upton Park to me
Jonathan Moss talking to both Foxes center halves.
Andy Carroll heads just wide from the corner.
Celtic match Rangers miss and take the lead again
I was thinking the same, UWS. I associate Boleyn with Henry VIII.
We'll have to get used to the Olympic Stadium, I suppose.
It is named after her
The Coyote has a long range effort deflected straight to Kasper.
Rangers 5-4 up on pens
YIKES! That's an odd one. True, Bob.
Huth heads wide off a cross from Fuchs.
Oh - Huth almost on the end of that one.
Albrighton off now for Schupp.
Schlupp on for Albrighton. I'm surprised that change occurred so early.
Celtic miss their pen and Rangers have knocked out their fierce rivals!
Rangers v Hibs in the Scottish Cup Final... to two in the Championship
Why aren't Boro taking on Burnley at Wembley!!
Come on Leicester.... get another one
Vardy inches away from the cross... didn't slide... went with the wrong foot
OH!!!! Vardy was inches away from connecting off a pass from Okozaki that started with a crunching tackle by Drinkwater on Mark Noble.
Jamie Vardy is off!!!! Wow!
Vardy dives and gets a second yellow!!!!
Why did he go down!!!!
Take a shot
The referee was absolutely right - it was an atrocious dive.
YIKES!!!!! Jamie Vardy is off as it's a second yellow for diving. It will be a long thirty five minutes for the Foxes.
He's out for the next match too!
It was a dive but there was contact so just no foul and play on
So, will that have an impact. He'll be suspended for a match because of that. Ranieri not happy.
Never a pen but does it really need to be a card?
There was contact... it wasn't like he wasn't touched
Can they hold on
Antonio obstructs Schlupp as Leo Ulloa is on for Okozaki. Similar reason that Andy Carroll came on.
Cue Ulloa....
Let's say Leicester could win the league next week... Vardy won't be on the pitch
Huth heads out for a Hammers corner.
I still think WH might get a goal back.
Oh - Carroll and Reid nearly combined to score there. Morgan just did enough.
Drinkwater heads out the corner from Payet and Winnie Reid has a shot skim off the outside of the post from a cross by Payet. Lanzini on for Mark Noble.
Noble off now and the little Lanzini on. Nice move, Slaven.
It would be a shame if Vardy were to miss out on the celebrations. He's been brilliant this season and deserves all the plaudits. I hope he's dancing about with the European Championship trophy later in the summer.
Lanzini high and wide from long range.
Agreed, Bob. He should be allowed to celebrate. He just won't be allowed on the pitch during the match, but once the final whistle blows he should be permitted to come on.
Twenty minutes left - this one is on a knife's edge now.
Naughty by Winnie Reid on Leo Ulloa. Could have been a second yellow.
A waste of a free kick from Fuchs.
The final roll of the dice for Slaven as Enner Valencia is on for Victor Moses.
Agreed - I could see a WH player going off before this one ends, just to even things up.
A shot from Emeneke is high and wide.
Some of the Hammers seem to be begging for an early bath.
Corner for WH now - this could be interesting.
Lots of chaos in the Leicester box but they clear it eventually.
Lanzini wins a corner off of Kante. Andy Carroll heads on the corner and Ogbonna with some fancy juggling is stopped by four surronding Foxes.
Wes Morgan booked for a foul on Andy Carroll from about 25 yards out
Big chance for West Ham here - Payet over the free kick.
Mahrez comes off - defensive move.
Daniel Amerty is on for Mahrez.
The free kick from Payet is well over.
Payed well over the bar. Kasper did what I think all keeper's should do - show him the right side of the goal.
All substitutions have been made.
It's all Hammers pressure now. I still see a late goal coming.
I'm back from a trip to the loo
Ten to go
No Curse of the Nocito today?
Why didn't Payet shoot from the back post
Wes Morgan heads out a cross from Pasyet for a Hammers corner.
Yet another corner - Payet will swing this one in. Hush and Reid are tangling.
Penalty!!!!!
PENALTY
PENALTY HAMMERS OFF THE CORNER. WES MORGAN CALLED FOR A HOLD ON WINNIE REID
That was just a dive too
Lots of pushing and shoving before the kick. The referee did give Leicester a warning.
It was Morgan with his arms around Reid rugby style. Oh my goodness!
Andy Carroll to take....
Great penalty!!!!
1-1!
Does that penalty decision break the title race back open?
GOAL !!!! ANDY CAROOLL TUCKS AWAY THE PENALTY IN THE CORNER SENDING KASPER THE WRONG WAY
I don't blame the ref - there is far too much shoving at corners. It's ridiculous.
Bloody West Ham
I'm not sure, Bob.
Last time Leicester played with ten men... at the Em
We know what happened after being 1-0 up
WH definitely have their tails up - it may have been a mistake for Ranieri to take his attacking players (Mahrez, Albrighton) off.
