The Future's So Bright....
...LVG has to wear shades! Yes - it's the inimitable Dutchman's 100th match in charge for United today - and it couldn't be more important. United still have a chance to grab that vaunted fourth CL slot - and from their city rivals no less. Their hosts Norwich, on the other hand, desperately need a win in order to stay up.
After that, the relegation battles continue at 10am with Aston Villa v. Newcastle and Sunderland v. Chelski. And then there is that Leicester City party at the KP with Everton along for the ride. Join me for all the action this morning.

Not great preparation for the United side this morning. The news out of Carrow Road is that Kung Fu Panda has injured himself in the warm-up. Ander Herrera has been thrown a pinny and is replacing him.
With Marcus Rashford rested for the match (huh?), that means that Old Man Rooney is playing up top on his lonesome today. Not great.
Good morning, mate. Kung Fu Panda injured himself warming up and is replaced in the starting lineup by Ander Herrera. Roon will move from midfield to striker.
No wonder why there are calls for King Louis head,. Time for the guillotine.
A full round of Championship matches have kicked off as their regular season concludes today. The big one is Middlesbrough vs the Seagulls. The winner is promoted and the loser is resigned to the playoffs.
Every week I hate LVG more and more
Good morning fellas
Resting Rashford and Blind? Rest for what? THREE games plus a Cup Final...that's it
Martial out hurt.... still no Rashford
The Bees take the lead at the Terriers while Forest take the lead at the Fake Dons, and Wolves take the lead vs Not a Big Club. Blackburn ride their way to the lead vs the Reading Railroad.
Good morning UWS. I agree. We are playing for a place in the CL . They can rest after the Cup Final.
Morning, chaps - how's your weeks been? Settle in because we're about to get started. The teams now out on the pitch at our old stomping grounds in Norwich.
Norwich: Ruddy, Ivo Pinto, Martin, Bassong, Olsson, Redmond, O’Neil, Howson, Brady, Hoolahan, Jerome.
Subs: Whittaker, Naismith, Mbokani, Bamford, Rudd, Jarvis, Dorrans.
Man Utd: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Darmian, Carrick, Lingard, Mata, Rooney, Depay, Martial (make that, Herrera).
Subs: Januzaj, Romero, Ander Herrera, Schneiderlin, McNair, Borthwick-Jackson, Fosu-Mensah.
Referee: Craig Pawson (South Yorkshire)
They're off from CR
Norwich get us started - it's win or bust for them today.
The Brunmmies take the lead at Evil Cardiff.
It's been a really hectic week. How was your week, chaps?
Blackburn steamroll their way to a two goal lead vs the Reading Railroad.
Norwich take it to United early doors and win a corner through Redmond.
Carrick clears a pass from Redmond for a Canary corner off a solo run from former United trainee, Robbie Brady
The corner from Brady is cleared as is the return cross.
UNITED GETTING PUMMELED!!!
Oh - great save Twilight from Cam Jerome's header. Free header there.
Superb reflex save by De Gea from a header by Jerome off a superb cross from Redmond
Rooney looks really isolated so far - a long, hopeful ball pumped up to him.
Boro one up!
That's a huge goal in the Championship.
The Teesiders take the lead vs the Seagulls. As things stand, the Teesiders will be promoted.
Hibs dominated Raith Rovers midweek in the first leg but still lost a play off game... second leg... 12 min... 2-0 Hibs
If they win, they then have to play second place Falkirk... if they win that... they have to play the team that finished second bottom of the Prem
Already promoted Burnely takes the lead at already relegated Charlton. The Fake Dons tie it up vs Forest
Not a lot for us to play for this morning at PNE. We've already bested our points total from last season with 58 over 56.
United are playing pathetic.
Mata should have hit the ball first time
Just had a chance for an overlapping run... a useless pass and useless cross(of course)
Rotherham take the lead at Brucie's lads.
Why are United going for this one???
IT HAS TO BE WON!!!
Those Scottish playoffs sound a little complicated. I think Dundee United have already been relegated and that playoff spot to avoid relegation is between Killie and Hamilton.
There is talk now that LVG is going to be staying... what am I missing?
Darmian has clattered Pinto there but he's the one who has come off worse.
I thought Jose Mourinho coming in was a done deal - no?
Darmian still getting treatment, making a nonsense of Danny Mills' cynicism.
Norwich can swing a free kick in now - rubbish one from Redmond and United clear.
LVG claims that the Foxes only won the league because of injuries to United players. LVG has really gone off the deep end, is being an arsehole, and a real embarrassment to UNited
Looks like Borthwick-Jackson is being readied to replace Darmian.
I think United are having to pick their poison in terms of managers
Borthy is on in place of Darmian
There is a point to be made about Leicester having only played 40 matches, when their rivals have played 60 or more. The Foxes have had their starting XI for most of their matches. Not true of most big sides who have to do squad rotation.
The Brummies tie it up vs Evil Cardiff as do Brucie's lads vs Rotherham
Danny Mills now apologizing for his comments about Darmian. What a twat!
Goals all over the place in Championship
That is true, but it does not take away from the significance of the Foxes fairy tale. They are deserved winners and are teaching the supposed big clubs a huge lesson. Is their a moral from this fairy tale?
Reading ll one back at Blackburn as they now trail 2-1
Norwich seem to want it more - beating United to a lot of the 50/50 balls.
No deal for Jose at all
I do fear that LVG is going to come back
No goals yet in the Prem
Oh, absolutely - there has never been an accomplishment like what Leicester have done this season. No question. LVG is out of line for suggesting that.
Sigh, UWS.
Why is Danny Mill questioning the GENIUS LVG?
Lingard in the middle instead of Mata is United secret method of ...losing games
My SS link is acting up
No picture but I do have sound
I have a question. The Foxes played three United rejects. Any chance that they would start for United if they made a return to United?
Wolves go two up vs Not a Big Club
The Tractor Boys take the lead at the Rams
I do want an Arsenal win tomorrow for United or after this performance West Ham to catch City but I do want Spurs to finish above Arsenal... it is deserved
Only three points up... but one win for Spurs would do it
I doubt it. Here's another question. Why do some United rejects like Tom Cleverly disappear without a trace, while the likes of Drinkwater have flourished?
No shots.... i am so bummed
These errors in judgement actually occurred during the latter stages of SAF's tenure. He left United with them needing to rebuild and with some serious errors in judgement in scouting
United have a corner... I almost fell off my couch because it wasn't taken short
Of course, United don't win a header in the box
Norwich break... like United can't .... United survive
YIKES! Brucie's lads have come from behind to lead Rotherham 3-1.
Hull 3-1 up
Bassong heads ouit a free kick from Mata for a second United corner.
Smalling should have given United the lead with a free header from the corner.
Brucie's lads now lead 4-1
Smalling heads over from 5 yards... HIT THE TARGET!!!
I so want United to win but I don't want LVG to say... I was right to rest them
Hull 4-1 up against Warnock's Rotherham
Two goals in two different two minute sp[ells for Brucie's lads.
United are so toothless going forward
Leaving Rashford in Manchester... Genius!
Want to rest him.. sit him on the bench and come on if needed... no... I'll let him stay home and play video games
It doesn't help playing a 30+ year old on his own up front, eh?
A poor Canaries free kick from a former MUFC Academy player. What a surprise!
LVG with some really stupid decisions , lacking any sort of common sense.
Half time coming up in the Championship... Boro almost there.
Brighton need to come out guns a blazing
They need to win
Watching LVG makes me want to sing about some cheap sunglasses.
I think I have finally decided that I don't want United to finish fourth. I am scared that Cup win would help LVG but top four would be the clincher
It would cost 5 mil to get rid of him... I'll pitch in some dosh
Gary O'Neill fouls Lingard just outside the Canaries box.
Free kick chance for United
They weren't being very dangerous and gave away the ball but luckily got fouled
Mata, D3.14 or Roon
Not Roon
Mata over a free kick chance now.
Me too. I have a few quid.
D3.14....surprise surprise... hits the wall
Sigh
CREATED NOTHING!!!!!
The free kick was pathetic , only going Pi inches off the ground.,
Still no picture from SS
Does League 1 play tomorrow?
No matches today
Who would you like as LVG's replacement - i no that neither of you wants Mou.
As things stand, it's the Seagulls vs Not a Big Club and the Rams vs the Tigers in the playoffs.
Yes. All L1 matches are tomorrow.
If Larry White is available then give him a chance.
The announcer said that nobody in the United starting lineup has scored since March. How inspiring!
That would be a good move for United - I approve.
Also, Hibs look set to face Falkirk in the next round with a Scots Cup Final vs Rangers mixed in the schedule.
That is horrible. Presumably Martial and Rashford have been doing all the scoring for you lot recently.
D3.14 has a chance to run at the defender... he decides to run INTO the defender... clueless
Some scuffles off the ball there
How does everyone in Manchester United not see what everyone outside the club sees
Oluwaseun Badejo: Wondering just what Rooney brings to this side. No pace, even less guile. Ah, must be because he is captain
White Lion Radio: Guaranteed defeat for Man Utd today, so far they have been pathetic and have square pegs in round holes all over the pitch.
Muigai Moses: Painful football to watch from MUFC Rooney can't seem to hold the ball long enough for support & zero wing play.
Blow up, ref - we've had enough.
I agree with everyone except Lion. I think United, as pathetic as they've been, will scrape out a 1-0 win. Three minutes of stoppage time.
Can't disagree with any of those comments - it has been poor. Lots of industry from Norwich but they're not very good. And I don't know what United think they're doing.
Agreed, Bob.
My trip to the bog will be more exciting than this match
United have drawn against Leicester twice
Won one and lost one to Spurs
Won one and lost one to Arsenal
Won one and drew one to City
Not bad
Lost to Norwich
Drew with Sunderland
Drew TWICE with Newcastle
Drew with Palace
Lost to Bournemouth
Drew with WBA
Lost to Swansea
Picture of Leicester's winning medals posted on the BBC
Half time... PATHETIC!
It's 0-0 at the end of a tortuous first half.
Half-time - 0-0. Not good for either side, really. It's got to get better in the second half.
Championship Chamipons to be Burnley two up
Make that 3-0
The Seagulls are flying
1-1
Wouldn't you love to be at the "I Love United" watching party? Wow!
Back from the bog as already promoted Burnley are three up at already doomed Charlton on their way to the Championship title.
They need to serve coffee at the Gotham Club, not ale.
Red Card at the Riverside
The goalscorer for Brighton gets a straight red!
Came back from the loo and my SS link has picture now
Brentford score two in two at Hudders
1-2
Despite the Seagulls tying it up, the Teesiders would go up. Both teams level on points, but the Teesiders ahead +32 to +30 on GD
We're back on at Carrow Road - looks like a pretty afternoon in East Anglia. Let's hope the football is a bit more easy on the eye in the second half. United get us underway.
The second half is underway from CR
I was in the loo too.
Missed the kick off
No changes I presume
So - Brighton need a win today?
Not in the same loo everyone!
No changes as of yet, beyond the B-J change for Darmian.
Correct
Good to know, UWS.
LVG takes off the jacket and cheap sunglasses. Who is he kidding?
Brighton got a late late equalizer last Monday but it didn't really matter. They needed a win to keep ahead of Boro but the draw had time tied.
Boro have a +2 better GD
GOALS MATTER LVG
Correct, mate. It's win or else the Seagulls will be flying to the playoffs.
Herrera gets ball in box.. missed
United still not getting the crosses over
LETS'S POSSESS THE BALL
Brucie's lads thrashing Evil Neil's lads 5-1.
Herrera had a half chance there but it was a difficult skill to pull off on the volley - into the side netting.
Five one for Brucie's Boys
Sunny in South Texas , just like East Anglia.
JFH's lads take the lead vs Bristol City
I can't believe that we get to watch bloody Burnley and Sean Dyche again next season (yawn!)
Nice ball by Mata... OF COURSE... Valencia fails to find the man with a cross....sign
Pathetic touch by Borth J
Professional
Do you want to see Hull again?
Derby?
Boro?
How about Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday???
He's playing like a true BJ?
I would like to see the Seagulls promoted.
52,000 season tickets are already sold out for next season for the Hammers!!
Well done fans...maybe I want them to make the Top Four
The Bess go 1-3 up at the Terriers.
Herrera gets a chance to go at the defenders and an atrocious pass with the outside of his foot right to yellow shirt
That would be a nice surprise for Johnno,
BJ... fails to cross the ball
Thinks he can change the law of physics that a ball can actually go thru a person
Not really - I'm excited to see Brighton. I think you know my position on Not a Big Club.
B-J is a master of Physics.
so bad from United
Going across the box and then a cross straight out of bounds
Each side only has one shot on target.
BORING!
It would be nice to see the Hammers in the CL next season.
The Bees now lead 1-4 at the Terriers.
I am now going to be cheering for West Ham for the rest of the season
They are just slightly in a worse position for United
United needed to win all three and have City draw one
West Ham need to win all three and City lose one
Gary O'Neil is down and looks set to be replaced by Graham Dorrans.
Good story with West Ham old players talking about UP
If the Gunners win tomorrow and the Spuds lose today vs the Saints then both teams will be level on points.
Typical modern day clubs
Brighton playing away at Boro.... wearing florescent yellow
Does Blue and White stripes clash with all red??
That is one thing United do...they wear their red if they can
Kate gives the Cottagers the lead vs already rock bottom Bolton. What a bully!
Valencia gets it after a good challenge.... close eyes... hit it hard into a defender
Nice finish Kate
Forest 2-1 up at MK
Mbokani on for Robbie Brady as a striker is on for a midfield player. Alex Neill appears to be going for the win. it would be nice to see LVG do the same.
Gooner has this theory about the colors being micromanaged by the Premiership bosses. He thinks that they like monochromatic strips for the telly - that is, they try to get clubs to play in all red, or all blue, even if their tradition is to play in red and black or blue and white.
Another atrocious pass for an overlapping run...United win a corner luckily
Borthy wins a United corner off of Pinto Beans.
TOOTHLESS
Another wasted United corner.
TOUGH... play in your own colors
Sad if true that the telly companies would be dictating what colors teams wear
Arsenal are big culprits
They wear yellow far too many times
Leeds do the same
United thankfully don't
Yes - we've been wearing a lot of all-yellow or all-blue this season. I hate it.
Sunderland and Toon do it often
So does Sotton
Steve could be right
Teams playing so well.. LVG feels no changes needed
Bring on Rashford... wait a minute... he's playing FIFA16
Leeds take the lead !
WAY HAY!! Leeds take the lead at Evil Ridsdale's house. Bob will be delighted. that would be a great way to end the season
Brighton down to ten but are on top
"Very few shots on target," says Danny Mills. Have United had any on target? There was the Smalling header over the top and the Herrera volley into the side netting. But I don't remember any actual shots on target. Almost 70 minutes in.
French toast being delivered - back in a tick
I can't remember one
Lucky bugger
Chris wood scored from the spot. Chris Kirkland conceded the penalty
20 minutes to go
Does anyone believe in the number THREE
De Gea had to save a close range header from Jerome early on.
GENIUS
Need a goal... bring on a bloke that hasn't played in MONTHS
Nice. Great way for Kate to celebrate a goal
Another TWO corners with nothing created
Is there another team that is worse than United at corners
ONE NIL UNITED
ROONEY SO LUCKY!!!!
WHY DIDN"T HE SHOOT!!!
GOAL !!!! MATA GIVES UNITED THE LAD WITH AN ASSIST BY ROON
Rooney didn't do fantastically well... he blew a chance to shoot!
How sad is it that I actually didn't cheer at all!!
I am disgusted with myself but I can't help it
SIT DOWN LVG!!
a long ball from Valencia caught out Bassong. Roon got behind him, got past Russell Martin, took too long to shoot, but found Mata , who easily scored.
I need to take Melanie, who is helping out the middle schoolers with solo and ensemble. I am wearing my Orlando City short, not United
Does Rooney have a left foot... never wants to shoot with it
Burnley are Champions
A wasted signing for United Schneiderlin is coming on
Oh Dear
PNE tie it up in the 89th min
Leeds have dropped a lot of points with late goals conceded
If the scores stay the same and Newcastle win, Norwich still not down.. just
Still here . The Bees are 1-5 up at the Terriers.
Free kick for Norwich and of course United lose the header but all the Norwich headers today have been atrocious
I'm back after inhaling my breakfast. I am a lucky bugger to have Kate in my life.
Don't mind getting a draw today. Our season's been over for a month or so.
Hibs won 2-0 and 2-1 on agg to make the next round
Brentford 5-1 up
In the seventh minute of stoppage time at the Riverside. Still 1-1 . Now I'm off.
United letting Norwich dominate..luckily nothing created
Atrocious attempt of a cross by D3.14
