Saturday Morning's Alright for Fighting
Morning, everyone! It's a pleasure to join you all today for some Thanksgiving Week footer. I hope all of you have recovered from your turkey comas because the action is going to come thick and fast this morning. We start with City's visit to Turf Moor - can Pep Guardiola's boys get back on the title track after dropping a few points. Then it's the 10am kickoffs, including the top vs. bottom encounter of Sunderland v. Liverpool. Then we finish up at 12:30 with a tasty double-bill - the Chelski v. Spurs grudge match on NBC and Leeds' trip to Rotherham on BEin. It'll be a morning for split-screens. Join me for all the fun, won't you?

Good morning, Bob. It's a pleasure joining you for a busy morning as it will be tomorrow morning.
Morning, MUR - I hope you've had a happy Thanksgiving Break with family. Thanks for joining me.
The teams are out on the turf at Turf Moor:
Burnley: Robinson, Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward, Gudmundsson, Marney, Defour, Boyd, Hendrick, Vokes.
Subs: Flanagan, Gray, Barnes, Kightly, Tarkowski, Pope, Arfield.
Manchester City: Bravo, Sagna, Otamendi, Kolarov, Clichy, Fernandinho, Fernando, Sterling, Toure, Nolito, Aguero.
Subs: Zabaleta, Caballero, Jesus Navas, De Bruyne, Sane, Silva, Iheanacho.
Referee: Andre Marriner (West Midlands).
Thanks, Bob. It was quite an eventful Thanksgiving. I hope you and Kate had a great Thanksgiving.
They're off from Turf Moor.
And we're away on a cold, crisp sunny day in Lancashire. Burnley are in their famous claret and blue and Citeh are in their second choice black kit.
Yikes!!!! Paul Robinson in goal for Burnley!!!! Talk about rolling back the years. Why isn't Tom Heaton playing in goal for Burnley? Have you heard of Paul Robinson?
Newly returned Yaya has an early half-chance but fluffs his lines with an off-balance shot.
Yaya shoots over as Citeh attack from the off. Burnley are on to a real hiding if they play like they did Monday.
That's not our old LUFC Academy boy Paul Robinson, is it?
Who exactly is this Paul Robinson bloke?
It is, you know. Crikey - Robinson's debut for Leeds was back in 1998!!
It is , mate. I bet you didn't expect him to still be playing.
You may remember that Robinson had a short-lived England career until he allowed a back pass to roll over his foot in an away match in Ukraine. Never played for England again, I don't think.
Along with Leeds, he played for Spurs and Blackburn.
My girls weren't even born when he made his debut. I guess he's in his late thirties.
George Boyd wins a free kick for Burnley.
Burnley have a set piece chance now...
Hendrick goes to ground and there is a half-hearted appeal for a penalty.
And Citeh go right back up the pitch for Aguero to strike a great shot that Robinson turns around sharply.
Robinson defies his age by getting down to turn around a shot from Aguero.
That could easily have been a penalty with Otamendi blatantly pushing Hendrick in the box. Citeh got away with one, IMHO.
I remember him quite well, mate. I think that error was in Croatia, not the Ukraine. Also, I think he scored for the Spuds vs Watford from a long clearance.
I agree. I've seen those called and not just by Mike Dean
Sagna was put under pressure and forced into conceding a corner. Clichy heads away the corner from Defour
The linesman looking into the sun must be facing the Pennines.
Have you recovered from the Thanksgiving feast yet, mate?
I have . How about you and Kate?
Gudmunsson cuts inside and ha s a long range effort comfortably saved by Bravo after Matty Lowton did well to win a tackle.
GOAL !!!! DEAN MARNEY GIVES BURNLEY A SURPRISE LEAD WITH A CRACKING FINISH
GOAL! Dean Marney with a belter of a volley!!!
Citeh are behind again. It has not been a good late fall period for them. Chelski will be celebrating that Burnley goal.
Sterling tries to immediately respond but Mee tackles back well. And Robbo collects the corner.
We should be proud of of our academy players as Paul Robinson, formerly of the LUFC Academy took a long free kick headed down by Michael Keane, formerly of the MUFC Academy . Then Marney scored with a cracking finish in the corner from just outside the box.
Our former academy players showed what they learned by contributing to the goal. Correct, mate?
Another great save by Robbo from Nolito this time. He's having a cracking afternoon.
The Burnley defense stays solid as they block several shots then Yaya makes a run from a throw and passes to Nolito, whose shot is saved by Robbo.
Absolutely - I was always a Robbo fan but he was error-prone.
George Boyd wins a corner off of Otamendi
Citeh counter off the Burnley corner , but Robbo rushes out to gather.
Also, Michael Keane , who only played about two or three matches for Man Yoo before being released headed down that free kick that led to the goal. He showed the good habits picked up at the MUFC Academy.
Dean Marney , the scorer is off for what looks an injured hammy. It would be a shame if he ended the match early. Fortunately, he's able to continue.
Mee has certainly got Sterling's number. He brushes the wee kid aside as he tries to get on to Nolito's through ball again.
Massive scramble there from the Citeh corner but Burnley manage to pack the penalty area and now break.
Aguero wins a corner off of Lowton. Burnley after a mad scramble in the box off the corner.
Stones is gone, but they still look terribly shaky at the back.
Mee will want to have a great match as he is a former Citeh Academy player. He will want to show them what he learned at the academy.
Stones the English Sideshow?
Bob's GBB shoots well over , to the delight of the home fans, as his former academy player watches.
A clash of heads between Fernandinho and Sam Vokes. Both get up and continue.
Sgna concedes a cheap free kick and the free kick from Defour is headed on by Keane and off a Citeh player for a corner.
Ward heads over a corner from Gudmunsson.
Dean Marney has a card to go with his goal due to a late challenge.
Yaya with a chance there but misses near post.
Yaya has a shot off the side netting off a one two with Aguero.
I need Aguero to score at least a brace today.
Nolito has a shot blocked by Lowton for a corner off a pass from Sterling.
Lawton dives in on Nolito to block the shot superbly.
GOAL! YESSSS!!!!
Aguero bags a tap in at the back post. That one was coming.
GOAL !!!! YOU SHOULD BE DELIGHTED AS AGUERO SCORES AT THE FAR POST OFF THE CORNER AFTER A BUNCH OF PING PONG IN THE BOX OFF THE CORNER. NOLITO REACTED THE QUICKEST TO ASSIST AGUERO.
That's nine for Sergio now - one behind Diego Costa at the top of the pops.
It's now 1-1 as your former academy player does not share your wishes for Aguero. Any words for him mate?
Will Costa score in the late match today?
Oh - another great stop from Robbo from Aguero!
Robbo superbly saves a long range effort from Aguero that was headed for the top corner.,
Dean Marney's day is over - he limps off with a hammy injury. Still - that volley will be a special memory.
Dean Marney, the scorer unfortunately, is off injured. He's replaced by Scott Arfield.
Are you rooting for Robbo , formerly of the LUFC Academy or Aguero? Surely is would be for the player from the beloved academy.
Now Gudmunsson pulls a hammy. If he goes off then Burnley will run out of players at this rate.
Yikes!!!! Two injured players in a matter of minutes as Gudmunsson is off and replaced by James Tarkowski.
Hey Boys,
I will be here for some of the time today. Lots of running around to do. Happy Post Thanksgiving. Hope your day was nice
Robinson in goal? United had to put up with a brick wall of Heaton at Old Trafford! City have Robinson... ridiculous error to follow for sure
Still time for another chance or two here.
Did you hear that Burnley was holding their Cyber Monday sale a week early? They were giving away goals rather cheaply.
Happy post-Thanksgiving to you, too, mate. Great to have you dropping in. Cheers!
That said, Burnley will be reasonably happy to go in at 1-1.
Good morning, UWS. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Heaton is injured , which is why he's replaced with the keeper from Dad's Army.
Fidel dead.... I thought he was older than 90
He lasted 10 presidents and almost 11
Into four minutes of stoppage time.
Not sure. He had to be at least 90. I heard about Florence Henderson passing away at age 82 on Thanksgiving, but not Fidel.
Leeds play the late match, that will be on the phone link Bob
Bravo does well to save a header from Vokes off a cross from Lowton after good work from Arfield.
It says he was 90. I just thought he was older
Yeah - the end of an era. I wonder if Americans will be able to travel to Havana again now. I would love to go.
Burnely fans are delighted as Otamendi is booked for hand ball.
Otamendi picks up a yellow card right at the death of half.
Half time at Turf Moor
Second half will surely see a City win
A really absorbing half comes to an end and I'm off for a half-time snuggle with the missus.
It's 1-1 at the end of an entertaining half.
I thought he was older too. I'm not sure about travel there due to the President elect's new policies.
A bit chilly in WNY. How about ENY? Not so in South Texas.
Chilly here too
Tomorrow's matches won't be on NBCSN because of F1's final Grand Prix of the season. The late one, United vs West Ham will be though
I wonder why Watford vs Stoke is the early match. How is that a police kickoff? I will get some extra kip and start with the 915 matches.
The boys are back out for the second half - no changes as of yet.
I think that's wise, mate - I'll do the same.
The second half is underway
Did you all hear that the owner of the Corona Beer Company in Mexico passed away at age 99? He left each of the 80 residents of the village where he was born, $2.5 million. An awesome gesture, IMHO.
Citeh win a corner, not a corona. The corner is headed away
City have an early free kick chance...cleared out and then hoiked high over the bar by Nolito.
Hendrick fouls Sterling as Citeh win a free kick in a decent position. Arfield clears a poor free kick from Sterling and Nocito shoots well wide. Sorry, I meant Nolito.
Sterling wins a corner off of Steven Ward
Arfield clears a poor delivery from Sterling, who has had more poor deliveries than Donny Trump.
A jalapeno bagel and a cup of tea has arrived at my side. Yum!
Sterling is the business in open play, though. He’s everywhere. He earns another corner with a busy dribble down the right, though he’s not given it by the officials. He frowns quite a lot.
Sounds like great brekkies. You missed a a pun and a a remark labelled with wisdom.
Sterling hobbles off. He's had more poor deliveries than Donny Trump and more injuries than Hillary Clinton.
Now he's replaced by Leroy Sane. Is he sane?
Im back for a bit
Missed nothing but I am sure it was all City
AND NOW CITY SCORE!!
Crazy stuff in the box
GOAL!!!!!
Yes, Aguero my GBB buddy bundles in a second jammy one of the day. Not a classic but he's level with Costa now.
1-2!
10 year old Sunday afternoon defending there
Safepac would have been disgusted with that!
GOAL !!!AGUERO AT THE DOUBLE AS HE SCORES WITH A TAP IN OFF A PASS FROM SANE AFTER YAYA WENT DOWN IN THE BOX OFF SOME ONE TOUCH PASSING . THE BURNLEY DEFENSE FAILED TO REACT AS CITEH HAVE COME FROM BEHIND TO LEAD 1-2.
Fernandinho fouls Tarkowski amidst sarcastic applause
Can Burnley get back into this one? Marney's strike was a one in a million. They need another now.
That Aguero goal was as popular among the home fans as Pence at a Hamilton play.
Partick Thistle take the lead vs Rangers late in the second half of a Glasgow derby.
Yaya has a pass deflected for a corner,.
LOL! Nice one, mate!
Rangers tie it up at Thistle in a Glasgow derby
Cheers, mate. You weren't replying to my puns , so I thought that I was giving more poor deliveries than Donny Trump.
Aguero further offside than Trump with one of his remarks and Otamendi with a challenge that's as legal as the votes in Wisconsin.
A poor free kick from Defor is easily gathered by Bravo.
No - just distracted by brekkies. I'm back now.
How about Germany's most hated club, RB Leipzig are now SIX points clear at the top of the table
That's quite a story brewing in the land of the Teutons.
Is Leipzig hated any more than Pence at a Hamilton play? Discuss.
That's incredible. Leipzig are nicking two points off all of us.
No - I think Pence take the biscuit. And Besy DeVos.
Steve Gerrard retired this week... You're thoughts on him
I was listening to Talksport this week. I often listen to the Sport Bar which starts at 10 pm UK time. Andy Goldstien a United fan and Jason Cundy a Chelsea fan have good banter
Andy says that Gerrard was a good player but he shouldn't be put up there with Dalglish and Souness in Liverpool hierarchy
He actually underachieved. He never won the league and finished outside the top four half of the 18 seasons he played for the Reds
I always thought he was a great player but do you think he his slightly overrated. I wouldn't have swapped him for Scholes
Your thoughts?
Hendrick heads over from a Burnley corner . Andre Marriner blew for a foul , so the goal would not have counted.
Gerrard is often compared with Scholes and Lampard. But it does seem that Lamps and Scholes won more with their clubs. Gerrard did win the Cup and the Champions League with Liverpool and he often put average Pool sides on his wide shoulders. I would rate him a great Premiership player but perhaps not as great as Dalglish, Souness and Hanson.
It was time for him to retire. I don't like the fact that he went top the LA Galaxy for merely a big payday. He was a fantastic player, but not quite up there with Scholes, Souness , or Dalglish. I agree that he did underachieve.
Sane and Ginger Winger are now on to see this one out.
Burnley make another change - Ashley Barnes on to seek out that equalizer.
The final roll of the dice from Sean Dyche as Ashley Barnes is on for Defor.
For England too
Rangers came from behind late to win 1-2 at Thistle in a Glasgow Derby.
Absolutely, UWS
Should have been a corner there - Marriner gave throw.
That whole golden generation for England underachieved - never won anything.
Agreed, Bob. De Vos is a horrible pick and is definitely NOT qualified for the position. The best we can hope is that she can leave decisions at the local level. It's like putting the Titanic in charge of education.
That's the story of England the past half century.
Well, that's my hope - that Republicans will for once buy into their small government principles and leave us alone.
Three minutes and change for City to ride out an important victory that will see them back on top.
If anything they've expanded the government and been a nuisance about it. Just me two Pence worth
The final roll of the dice for Pep and Bob will not be pleased as Navas is on for Aguero , who is currently joint top scorer with his beloved Diego Costa
4 added min
Four minutes of stoppage as Burnley can't get a shot off and Citeh clear
Time's almost up now.
Long ball time for Sean Dyche. Bravo loses it temporarily and then grabs it. That's it now.
Oh - great stop from a terrific bike by Barnes.
Game over
These are the games United haven't won! Three draws in a row at home to Stoke, Burnley and Arsenal when all all of them should have been wins. That would be six more points and United would be right up there!!!!!
I am off for walkies
Last chance for Burnley as they take a long throw. Bravo saves a volley from Barnes and that's it as Citeh grind out a 1-2 victory
That's it, then. Citeh back on top and Aguero level top with Costa.
I'm back for the 10am kickoffs. I've got UWS' SS link going strong.
Stevie G. is in the house. The teams are in the tunnel at the Stadium of Light.
Liverpool: Karius, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Can, Mane, Firmino, Coutinho. Subs: Klavan, Moreno, Lucas, Mignolet, Origi, Oviemuno Ejaria, Woodburn.
Sunderland: Pickford, Jones, Kone, O’Shea, Van Aanholt, Pienaar, Denayer, Ndong, Watmore, Anichebe, Defoe. Subs: Mannone, Larsson, Khazri, Manquillo, Love, Januzaj, Gooch.
Referee: Anthony Taylor.
Liverpool could go top again with a two goal win here at Sunderland.
I am back for the 10 AMers at 9 AM. Guess what Fred says.
I think it's at Ann's Field, mate
Th're off at Ann Field's place.
We're away at the Stadium of Light, then.
Milner wins an early corner.
Ah - I see; you're right. I thought it was an away day for Pool. Thanks for pointing that out. Should be an even easier win for them.
They corner is caught by Pickford, who does pick the ball out of thin air.
Early free kick for Sunderland now. Cleared out.
Glad to help . Fred came up with a new slogan : STOP KLOPP! Would UWS agree with Fred
Firmino shoots straight at Pickford, who has yet another pick
Last month Charlton’s game against Coventry was stopped due to an avalanche of plastic pigs. Today’s it’s foam taxis:
I'm sure that UWS would.
The Tangerines take the lead vs Newport County while Jayne Mansfield is on top of Kitty Carlisle , taking the lead at her place.
Yikes! This has to be a prank.
Boro take the lead at the King Power against the Foxes.
Bristol Rovers smoke their way to the lead at Chesterfield. The smoking is idle gossip unless we're talking Palin.
I don't get it. They run away with their CL group, yet they're in a relegation battle. Can you explain that?
Pickford saves a snap shot from Wijnaldum.
Nice, sharp turn by Wynadum but Pickford saved well.
Negredo with the Boro goal shot past Ron Bob in the Foxes goal, Bob.
A Black Cats corner on a rare attack and it's cleared then a long ball is played into the box and Karius does well to block from Pienaar.
The corner is taken short and a cross from Pienaar is headed away , then Dafgoe fouls Karius
Fleetwood Mac sing their way to the lad at the Real Dons. Lindsay Buckingham with the goal, assisted by Stevie Nicks.
Hey Boys,
I am back from a long walk. Have the telly on, the phone to SS and Tom's laptop on LOB
Palace take the lead at the Liberty
Four goals in the Championship so far, three of them from penalties – although Reading’s Garath McCleary only scored his on the rebound. Also celebrating: Fernando Forestieri, who has put Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 up at Wolves, and Birmingham, whose Clayton Donaldson has done the spot-kick duties. The only non-penalty-taking scorer so far is Ipswich’s Grant Ward, who has put his side a goal up against QPR.
Jap Stam is doing wonders with Reading. Already in the playoffs and two up already
Fulham take the lead at the AmEx
The Brummmies take the lead at thew Bees while Jaap Stam's lads take the lead vs Bristol City. Jaap says that's not a bit of idle gossip.
Your old boy Zaha with that goal for Palace. Swans continue to be in the dumps.
Tony has asked me to give you guys his regards
With Leicester already losing, could they be candidates for the drop ?
Bob and Kate taking a vacation at Brighton Beach?
Leicester could easily be around the relegation zone.
Morecambe and Wise take the lead against table toppers Plymouth
Real Madrid are 1-0 up - three guesses who scored.
High flying Doncaster behind at home to Orient
Haha from Zaha
Cheers Tony . Sending you our best
Ipswich take the lead vs QPR
Alan Pardew was threatened with the sack is Palace lose today. Why not the same for Bob Bradley?
Jayne MAnsfield no longer on top as Kitty Carlisle ties it up.
Villa take the against Cardiff
Newport ties it up at the Tangerines while Colchester take the lead vs Crewe
Cardiff ties it up quick at Villa Park
Bolton take the lead at Northants, Notts County do so at Barnet as do Morecambe and Wise vs Bob's Argyle , and Wycombe vs Jeff's team
That was a quickie.
Coutinho kicks the ball at the same time as defender. He calls for the physio right away
