Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Spuds are two up at the half , which according to the two Robbies was one way traffic and the best Spuds performance of the season. The goals were scored by my GBB, Harry Kane and an OG by old man MacAuley
The second half is underway and Matty Phillips shoots just wide as Pubis must have let the players have it at the half.
The two top stories at the half were that Diego Costa has not traveled with Chelsea for their match at the Foxes in a match between the past two Prem Champions while Payet is supposedly refusing to play for the Hammers in their London Derby vs Palace as they host their previous boss, Fat Sam
It's 1-1 with about fifteen minutes remaining of the Severn River Derby at Ashton Gate. A noon kickoff, which makes complete sense.
Pubis is about to bring on James McLean for Chris Brunt. Why didn't he do that at the half?
Now the Spuds have a free kick as Delle Alli was sandwiched. Foster easily catches the free kick from Eriksen
Now that change has been made as MacLean is on for Brunt.
Bristol City have taken a 2-1 lead vs Evil Cardiff.
While I was getting a hot cuppa , the Spuds somehow failed to increase their lead. First , Craig Dawson appeared to push Delle Alli in the box, but got away with it. Then Foster made a great kick save from Toby as Eriksen passed a corner to Harry Kane , who had a shot blocked prior to that save.
A second substitution for the Baggies as Chadli is replaced on his return to SFL with Hal Robson-Kanu on in his place.
Olsson, who is not one of the twins, is booked for a foul on Harry Kane, who was about to be through on a Spuds break.
Ben Davies is on for the injured Vertonghen
Evil Cardiff have scored twice in three minutes to lead 2-3 at Ashton Gate. All the goals have been scored in the second half with fours of those in the last eleven minutes.
Dembele has a long range effort go just over.
MacAuley is booked for a tantrum thrown at the linesman as he was fouled by Kyle Walker, but no foul was given
Ben Foster makes a great save from Wanyama off a run and pass from Eriksen.
Evil Cardiff have won 2-3 at Ashton Gate in what seemed a cracker of a Severn River Derby , or at least the second half was.
It's 0-0 at the half in the Nottinghamshire Derby between Notts County and visiting Jayne Mansfield. Is she trying to get on top of Robin Hood?
James MacLean fouls Kyle Walker from behind.
GOAL !!! MY HARRY KANE SCORES HIS SECOND OF THE MATCH AS THE SPUDS GO THREE UP.
Kyle Walker played a one two . The return pass was overcooked, but Kyle Walker tackled MacAuley and passed across the box to Harry Kane , who scored with a first time far post finish as Ben Foster was caught out of position.
GOAL !!!! A HAT-TRICK FOR HARRY KANE AS THE SPUDS GO FOUR UP.
It was a great team goal with about twenty or so passes that led up to the goal . It culminated in a one two where an audacious chipped pass was by Delle Alli was sandwiched in between as Harry Kane scored with a well placed volley.
Harry Kane gets a well deserved standing ovation as the hat-trick hero is replaced by Number One Son. The locals will see Harry Kane as their Number One Son.
Two minutes of stoppage time as Danny Rose , formerly of the LUFC Academy, is called for a Bob style hand ball.
It's over as the Baggies get an old fashioned Arse whooping at SFL , being thrashed 4-0. It could have been more as Pubis sportingly congratulates Poch and Harry Kane deservedly gets the match ball.
That moves the Spuds up to second, four points behind Chelsea , pending the other results.
Off to take Sparky walkies on an unusually warm morning ahead of the 10 AM matches.
Morning, MUR - thanks for getting us started today. As I mentioned last night, I decided after a long week to have a lie in rather than watch the Spuds tonk the Baggies. I got to the telly just in time to see Harry Kane notch his hat-trick, which now brings him level with Alexis and Zlatan on 13, one goal behind Diego Costa and very much in contention for the GBB.
Morning Boys
not feeling too good today . Just a cold but did't get much sleep last night either
Sounds like Spurs did well. I watched the end of it on my phone thru the SS link
GB getting close and with Costa being dropped for today's match and possibly going to China my pick Zlatan has a shot at it
Morning, UWS - sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I hope that you're tucked up with a cuppa by your side nd can take it easy.
My eye will very definitely be on the Championship today: The top two face away days to be filed under ‘tricky’: leaders Brighton go to Preston North End, while Newcastle visit Brentford. Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday, the only other top-six sides in action today, meet in a Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough - I'd love to see a draw. Play-off dreamers Fulham and Barnsley have a chaff-sorting engagement at Craven Cottage while Norwich, sandwiched between them, will fancy their chances at rock-bottom Rotherham. Fellow strugglers Wigan can drag Burton right into the mire with a win at the Pirelli Stadium, and Blackburn could do the same to Ipswich with victory at Portman Road. In the early kick-off, it finished Bristol City 2-3 Cardiff City.
Thanks Bob
I have moved downstairs. TWC has taken away NBCSN without a cable box so I can' watch matches in bed any more!
I'll be watching the Swansea v. Arsenal one on NBC Sports and listening to the SS link.
What a shame - I hate Time Warner!
Good morning Bob and UWS. I'm back from walkies in weather that is more the norm for April than January. I hope UWS feels better.
The teams gathering in the tunnel at the Liberty:
Swansea: Fabianski; Naughton, Fernandez, Mawson, Kingsley; Cork, Ki, Dyer, Sigurdsson, Routledge; Llorente.
Subs: van der Hoorn, Fer, Borja Baston, Nordfeldt, Rangel, Fulton, McBurnie.
Arsenal: Cech; Gabriel, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Ramsey; Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez; Giroud.
Subs: Lucas Perez, Ospina, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Holding, Welbeck, Reine-Adelaide, Maitland-Niles.
Referee: Mike Jones (Cheshire)
Welcome back, mate!
THey're off from the Liberty and from the London Stadium on CNBC
Thanks, Bob. Glad to chat with you.
Arsenal get us underway, wearing their gaff black and bright yellow true kit.
No match excites me today
So, I am watching Goal Rush
Nice tribute for Graham Taylor at Watford today.
Thanks MUR
I'm keen on seeing Chelski v. Leicester later on but I agree with you. The United v. Liverpool match tomorrow morning is the match of the weekend.
Bournemouth have a pen...they score
Paul Clement, like Bob Bradley makes his Prem debut vs the Gunners. Hopefully, he is more successful than his predecessor , who was yanked.
Bournemouth are 1-0 up over Hull with an early penalty.
Not a good start for Marco Silva, making his Prem debut as the Tigers manager. Goal Rush , showing the same match as NBCSN other than the goals.
Arsenal's passing is starting to click now.
Newcastle have started well against Brentford. I expect the Magpies to win today.
First decent chance for Swansea.
Cech did well to turn around a shot from Kyle Naughton
Ball in the net at Vicarage Road but it's been flagged off. Stuani ruled offside as he finished.
Bottom of the table Rotherham take a surprise lead vs the Canaries.
Siggy high and wide with a long range effort. Not too far over.
Walsall and the Blades already at 1-1.
Harry Arter just wide with a long range effort at the KC where the Cherries are dominant in Marco Silva's first Prem match in charge of the Tigers
PNE take a surprise lead vs the table topping Seagulls.
Sounds like a right old ding dong at the Bescott.
Marko Arnautovic has fired Stoke into the lead at the Stadium of Light. More bad news for the Black Cats. Is Fred hiding under the bed, MUR?
No wonder why Fred has been a pest Sparky's stoke have taken the lead at the SOL
Still no joy for the Gunners from their set pieces.
No. He is blocking the screen so I can't type. I had to move him over.,
Do they still like to have a scrap now and again?
A couple of surprising scorelines in the Championship, as bottom club Rotherham lead Norwich 1-0, while Paul Huntington has put Preston a goal up against Brighton. In League Two, the leaders are also behind: John Akinde has put Barnet ahead against Doncaster.
It's 1-1 between the Real Dons and Oxford in L1. Both newly promoted and adjusting well. Bury lead Posh 2-1 and Fleetwood Mac have taken the lead vs Bristol Rovers. That's not idle gossip.
Fred and the Black Cats are really up against it now. Sparky and Stoke are 0-2 up.
Stoke have gone two up at the SOL as I was having to prevent Fred from being a further pest. Now he's lying down in front of me.
Newcastle take the lead at Brentford
Norwich are down to ten men now. Nelson Oliveira straight red card. It's going pear shaped for the Canaries these days.
Pompey take the lead at Frattton Park vs Orient
Arnautovic at the double.
Dwight Gayle is on fire this season - I think that's his 20th goal.
You must be delighted about the current score at Fratton Park.
At West Ham, it’s been a ‘slow burner’, according to the club’s own Twitter feed. Translation - it's been boring.
Scunny take the lead at Northants and Fleetwood Mac sing about a two goal lead vs Bristol Rovers at Higbury.
Southend on Sea take the lead vs visiting fourth placed Rochdale.
I would expect nothing different between Slaven and Fat Sam.
Bury now lead Posh 3-1
Stevenage take the lead at Argyle Sweater, who must be thinking about their replay on Wednesday vs Liverpool.
Bury now lead Posh 4-1.
Hull equalize
Great cross and header
GOAL !!!! ABEL HERNANDEZ TIES IT UP FOR THE TIGERS VS THE CHERRIES.
That's a huge goal for Hull. They're desperate for a win today.
Stoke are three up at the SoL
Blimey - Sunderland are 0-3 down to Stoke. That one is done and dusted. Sunderland fans beginning to head for the exit - in the first half!!!
It was a tale of two keepers at the KC. It started with a punt/ pass from Jakupovic in the Tigers goal . A pass to Fatty and he did well to find Andrew Robertson down the left . His superb cross was headed in at the far post by Hernandez as Boruc was caught out of position.
Did I hear that Stoke have never won at Sunderland
Palace go very close
Loving this Goal Rush
Seeing all the chances and goals
Matt's comment....and Fox have the World Cup
And Fred is down for a nap in front of the computer screen. IS that equivalent to heading for the exits?
Goal for the Arse
GOAL !!!OLLIE GIVES THE GUNNERS THE LEAD.
GOAL! Giroud puts the Gunners one nil up but seems to have crocked himself in the process.
A great Gunners attack as Ramsey played a ball across the box and Ollie failed to connect. It broke to Iwobi and his cross was headed down by Alexis as Ollie smashed it into the roof of the net
Those Sunderland fans who bailed out on their side an hour early have missed a goal that they might have enjoyed. And too right.
Arsenal are one of the worst teams for wearing away kits when not needed.
United always wear red when they can...why don't Arsenal?
I mean white vs red didn't clash in the 1972 FA Cup Final
Maybe the white and red has changed!
Crouch with the Third Stoke goal
Pompey pegged back
Sunderland's Defoe gets a goal back... plenty of time!
Looks like Giroud won't be able to continue. The Ox being prepared to replace him.
It could be the change in corrective lenses. Just a wild guess.
Exactly . The Gunners came back in far less time.
Ipswich take the lead vs Blackburn
EVERYONE thought it was a pen at the Liberty...but it aint
Le Tis says it was a dive all day long
Ki booked for taking a Swan dive.
Lots of tackles flying in at the SOL.
Plymouth fell behind ... think of their replay... but comeback and take the lead
A minute of stoppage time at the Liberty and two at the SOL.
That will give them momentum for that replay. It will be televised on Werdnesday
Blackburn equalize late in the first half completely against the run of play
Boos from the remaining fans at the SOL as Stoke lead 1-3.
Half time comes - I'm off to help Kate with some chores.
Wigan take the lead at Richard Burton
Good boy
Fulham take the lead
Desmond at Home Park...maybe they are thinking of the replay
Goalless at Hillsboro at half time
Leeds are still in third !!
Second half underaway
I just finished watching the halftime highlights on goal rush as the second half is underway from the liberty and now the SOL.
That Dafoe goal off the long clearance where he ran on to it and tucked it away in the corner. he did his best impersonation of UWS.
Desmond is at whose home? Yours?
I'm back after an industrious half time interval.
I'm loving it! Third would give us a playoff match up with the sixth best club.
Ipswich have a replay at Conference leaders , Abe Lincoln , which is being televised on Tuesday.
Goal at Hull... Hull take the lead
Charlie Adam bent it like Beckham and was inches wide of restoring Stoke's three goal adavantage at the Sol/
Hull have turned it around!
Abel Hernandez with both goals for the Tigers, his first goals of the season. Bob will be pleased that Snoddy had the assist as Hernandez cut inside the left back and sot past Boruc in the corner.
The Swans must be bottom now.
Great save from Ramsey shot
Flappy did well to save from Ramsey then Iwobi had a shot come off of ALfie Mowson for a corner.
Two nil the Arse
GOAL! It's a bit of a jammy one with an enormous deflection but Arsenal have doubled their lead.
0-2 Arse!
GOAL !!! IWOBI PUTS THE GUNNERS TWO UP WITH A SHOT THAT TOOK A WICKED DEFLECTION AND LANDED IN THE TOP CORNER.
Will that be credited to Iwobi or an own goal by Jack Cork? I'm not sure it was on target.
Pompey. retake the lead vs Orient
Now we need a Cambridge goal
Pompey could be just a point off an automatic spot
Really poor defending from the Swans as the Swans cleared poorly and the ball was played back into the box as Iwobi scored with that deflected effort past the former Gunners keeper.
As the table stand right now, Leads are 6 points behind Brighton for an automatic spot and EIGHT points ahead of Derby for the playoffs
Brighton fall two behind
As things stand, Leeds would face bitter rivals, Not a Big Club, in the playoff semis.
Jeff says.. Leeds are breathing down everyone's neck
AND Sheffield Wednesday take the lead with their first shot
Playoffs shmaoffs..... top two well within Leeds' sight
Ten man Norwich tie it up at Rotherham
I'm still hoping another side will occupy that sixth spot. Not a Big Club deserve to be in the lower leagues.
Ipswich retake the lead vs Rovers
SHUT IT
Wednesday are a big club
Fan base
Stadium
History
Arnautovic just wide as he aims for a hat-trick
Newcastle have been pegged back by Brentford - marvelous news!
Not a Big Club take the lead vs the Terriers in a Yorkshire Derby . Bob will not be pleased.
and Newcastle get pegged back to 1-1
ONLY Leeds will have won this weekend in the top Five
3-1 Hull
Blimey - Hull are romping it now. 3-1 and what a debut for the new boss.
Rotherham are back in the lead against ten-man Norwich.
GOAL !!!! THE TIGERS LEAD 3-1 AS FATTY HAS A SHOT DIVERTED IN FOR AN OG BY TYRONE MINGS FOR AN OG ON HIS CHERRIES DEBUT.
3-1 Tractor Boys
Fulham two up
Kate's having a field day today!
Are the Seagulls back on top?
Absolutely. A goal and an assist for Kate.
Ipswich lead Blackburn 3-1 ahead of their replay at Conference leaders, Abe Lincoln.
This Arsenal win will have them leapfrogging Citeh into that last CL spot ahead of Citeh's match in the morning.
OF course Bob will be pleased with Wednesday's goal. It will keep Leeds in third
EVERY score is going perfectly for Leeds
Newcastle dropping two points
Brighton dropping three
Leeds won three
Huddersfield dropping three
Reading dropped three
Sheff Wed earning three
Derby dropped three
Another goal in Wales... another OG
GOAL! Now that definitely is an own goal. Nothing that the kid could do about it. Cross came in and it just ricocheted off him into the net.
0-3!
GOAL !!!! THE GOOONER WILL BE AMUSED AS FORMED SPUD, KYLE NAUGHTON PUTS INTO HIS WON GOAL TO GIVE THE GUNNERS A THREE GOAL LEAD.
Feghouli has scored his first goal for the Hammers - big one for them.
West Ham take the lead
The first bloke had an open net to slot it into after rounding the keeper but misses but teammate knocks it in
It is a perfect scenario for us today, isn't it?
Feghouli gives the Hammers the lead. Mark Noble picked out Anotnio. He rounded Hennessey and passed for Feghouli to score with a tap in.
Crawley take the lead vs Hpool. Jeff isn't happy
Different manager, but same old Swansea being torn to shreds, especially in thew second half.
The new boss is tossing on two strikers now. He might as well; it can't get worse for the Swans today.
If Jeff isn't happy then he must feel crappy.
Walsall three one up vs the Blades
Nearly a fourth for the Arsenal - they are rampant!
Wigan , our cup opponents go two up at Richard Burton, who have been sucked into a relegation battle.
Couldn't happen to a nastier club. Wahay!
Four nil.... a hat-trick of own goals!!
GOAL !!!! THE GUNNERS GO FOUR UP AS THE ROUT IS ON.
no it wasn't an own goal but it was heading in
GOAL! And there it is! Alexis notches Arsenal's fourth and his 14th of the season. He's level with Costa now!
So the North London sides are a combined 8-0 today
Huddersfield down a a goal and down a man
Alexis appeared to get the final touch . Iwobi turned NAughton inside out then played a pass into the box. It appeared to be a penalty as the ball broke to ALexis , who smashed in from close range
Jack Cork and Kyle Naughton have credited with OGs . Alexis may be credited with the fourth goal
Former Gunners keepers , Mannone and Flappy have conceded a combined seven goals. Most of them because they had no defensive help at all.
If someone had to win that Yorkshire Derby I suppose it should be Not a Big Club.
The Arse look like they are going to score every time they go forward
This is the type of game United need and for them to convert their chances to get their GD up
CleverBoy comes on for Watford
Apparently , another goal has been scored at the London Stadium.
Still goalless between Burnley and Soton and Watford and Boro. Not great entertainment for the punters.
West Ham are two up with great goal according to Merse
overhead kick
Apparently Andy Carroll has just scored the goal of the season with an acrobatic bike. Can't wait to see it!
Great goal by Carroll
Blackburn back in it... 3-2 Town
Andy Carroll with a spectacular bicycle kick off a cross from Antonio to put the Hammers two up. Same old Palace. Fat Sam has not had an affect on Palace.
Joey Barton has just come on and he's scored with his first touch. Burnley 1-0 up! And they're chanting his name!
Are you watching Goal Zone...they just showed it
The main match is Arse but they go away for all the chances
Joey Barton comes on for Burnley and scored inside three minutes
Joey Barton off the subs bench to give Burnley the lead vs the Saints with a deflected free kick.
The Blades are 4-0 down! Lovely.
Blackpool down to ten men but still scoreless at the Abbey
Blades are being sliced apart
4-1 Walsall
Nah - I'm watching it on NBC Sports. I'm sure that they're show it later.
The Hornets hit the post off a long throw vs the Teesiders.
Goal Zone is the same as NBC
