Morning, MUR - thanks for getting us going with a cracking post. It's shootout at the OK Corrall between Kane (17 goals) and Lukaku (16) this morning. Can't wait!
Morning Boys
I guess we need Spurs to win this early one? Keep Everton away?
How did yesterday go David?
Last manager to beat Spurs at the Lane... Everton's boss last season with Southampton
The teams coming out of the tunnel at Shite Fart now:

Everton: Robles, Coleman, Ashley Williams, Funes Mori, Baines, Barry, Gana, Schneiderlin, Davies, Barkley, Lukaku. Subs: Jagielka, Mirallas, McCarthy, Valencia, Stekelenburg, Holgate, Lookman.
Referee: Michael Oliver
Morning, UWS! How are you, mate?
Morning.. doing well.
Bloody freezing
Good morning Bob and Dave. I hope everything went well. Melanie auditioned to get into the music program at Texas State University. She thinks she did well, but said she made some mistakes, so I'm not sure what that means.
An upset is brewing in the Scots Cup as St. Mirren, rock bottom of the Championship are one up at the half at Celtic Park.
Fingers crossed
The teams are out on the pitch and shaking hands. All very chummy so far. But wait until that midfield battle kicks in ...
We are off at down the Lane
They're off from sunny SFL.
Best of luck to Melanie with that application!
And we're away at Shite Fart, both teams playing in traditional colors, thankfully. Arlo and Lee on the microphones.
It's Prince Harry and the Belgian Beast while it's two managers rumored to be going to bigger clubs : Poch to Barca and Koeman to the Gunners.
It's sunny here, too, but underneath that sun it's bloody 21F!
Its 6F here!!!
Thanks , Bob and Dave. She's already been accepted to the university. I just want her to be able to get her degree. I'm not sure what the other options are. We are supposed to know by the end of the week.
It rained the entire way back yesterday, which was 325 miles of non stop rain. Sunny and looking to be in the low 80s this afternoon.
Let us know
Just shut it with your temperature MUR!!!
Gareth Barry is caught for pace and fouls Delle Alli from behind just outside the box.
Spurs with a free kick chance..Into the wall
Into the wall by Eriksen , but the Spuds keep possession.
Sorry about the temp and I will make sure to provide updates. Thanks.
Not temperature updates!!
A world class slide tackle by Vertonghen on fellow Belgian , the Chunk.
There doesn’t, on early evidence, seem much space out there. Barry is dropping right in front of his defence. Would have been a good game for Danny Rose, I think.
Kyle Walker gets past Baines, who recovers to tackle him for a corner. The corner from Eriksen is headed away.
First big decision from Michael Oliver. Corner given rather than a spot kick as Deli Alli flops in the area.
I will make sure to provide academic updates.
Agreed. The Toffees seem to be congesting the middle of the park.
Fred was asking for belly rubs and chest scratches ahead of the late match. Now he's getting some extra kip.
Smart move from Koeman; Everton won't be able to live with a Spuds side in full flow.
Koeman may be part of the North London Derby next season.
Spurs playing a risky game with such a high line. Caught The Chunk offside that time but will they be able to continue to do that?
You think Fat Ron would be an adequate replacement for Wenger? Or is Potch headed for Barca?
I think he could be. It would be a change in style for the Gunners. Potch for Barca is hard to say.
Schnied with a stupid foul on Delle, who was sandwiched near the corner flag.
The free kick from Eriksen is headed away by the first man, Barkley at the near post.
Many of those near post routines are so near in distance, yet so far in terms of success.
Have you noticed that the camera angle at Shite Fart Lane is better these days. Used to be an odd one like a blimp. Meanwhile Anfield's has become much, much worse - it feels like we're a mile away.
Celtic tie it up vs St. Helen Mirren just shy of the hour mark in the Scots Cup.
GOAL! What a strike from Harry Kane!
Goal....KANE IS AT IT AGAIN!!!
GOAL !!!! PRINCE HARRY GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD.
Kane was allowed to drop deep, turn, run a few yards and hit a shot. Poor from Everton's defenders and goalkeeper there.
1-0 Spuds!
Struth...almost scored again
Third hat-trick in three weekends coming?
Oh - he was nearly in there again for a second. Great feet and Joel Robles saved with his chest.
Great close range block by Joel Robles, then Eriksen shoots the rebound over.
I wouldn't put it past him, UWS. He is a streaky striker - gets into really purple patches. Wish he'd do that for England.
The goal started with a short pass from Lloris to his left back.About a dozen passes later , Kane scored with a swerving shot from about thirty yards out, but Joel Robles should have done better. Prince Harry now leads the Prem with eighteen goals.
Oh - Kane was at the near post as the cross came in from Walker. It really looks like he could score on every attack.
Harry Kane just failed to get the proper contact off a cross from Kyle Walker.
Now just wide from just outside the box.The Spuds starting to be rampant.
Celtic have come from behind with two goals in a minute from Lustig and Scott Sinclair to lead St. Helen Mirren 2-1.
Funes-Mori wacks Harry Kane from behind. Just a lecture from Michael Oliver.
Oh - Kane nearly in there again. Claims a pen as Williams seems to push him in the box as he went for that cross.
The free kick from Eriksen eludes everyone. Harry Kane wanted a penalty for a supposed push by Ashley Williams.
Spurs hit the post!!
Oh - Wanyama has hit the Sunday Roast now! Kane skewed the rebound wide but he was offside anyway. Spuds all over the Toffees.
A long range effort from Wanyama crashes off the post then Kane slices the rebound wide as the offside flag is raised.
Sunny SFL has changed to rainy , windy SFL.
Suddenly the skies have opened up in North London. Gana picks up a yellow card.
That was never Gana to be allowed as Gana is booked for a foul on Vertonghen.
Celtic now lead St. Helen Mirren 3-1 after trailing for nearly an hour. Moussa Dembele with the latest goal. A player by the same name is playing ion this match
Barkley finally gets forward and swings in a dangerous cross that Lloris had to deal with.
Boom, boom, Basil!
Cheers, mate. There's more where that came from.
Velcro.... what a rip off
They can't say there's only one Moussa Dembele as one plays for the Spuds and one for Celtic. Both spent early parts of their career at the Cottage , being taught by none other than our Bob.
Broken pencils are pointless
It sounds like the cheap way out.
Everton have steadied things, and even had a bit of the ball, in recent minutes. They’re recovering, as are we all, from a whirlwind spell by the home side.
I stayed up all night wondering where the Sun went... then it dawned on me
BOOM BOOOM, UWS! I get the point. You're quite sharp this morning.
I couldn't figure out why the ball was getting bigger... then it hit me
Your'e in top form . Top of the morn!
Hear about the toilet stolen from the police station? They've got nothing to go on
Don't know what you two are on about.
Leigh Griffiths, off the bench , puts Celtic 4-1 up vs St. Helen Mirren.
Eriksen heads inches wide off a cross from Ben Davies.
I think We're in a pun contest.
The weather can't make up its mind this morning.
I am just adding some levity to the morning's talk
Now the sun is back out in North London.
You've lost me for sure.
Harlingen looks the current weather at SFL this morning. It looked the rainy version yesterday as it did the entire trip back.
Why?
Don't you like my jokes?
I am off for walkies at half time so I'll miss the start of the second
A minute of stoppage time.
Enjoy the walkies. I enjoyed your jokes.
That's half-time - I'll need to wake up a bit more before I catch up with your humor.
1-0 Spuds at the interval.
Thanks MUR... stick it up your left nostril BD
Off for a chilly walkies
The Spuds have dominated the first half , but are only one up thanks to Harry Kane's eighteenth goal of the season.
Keep warm, UWS.
Back for the second half with a cuppa and a bagel.
The teams are out of the tunnel and the Chunk didn't want us to see what he was saying to Sissokho. Must have been a tad naughty.
The second half is underway
Sounds like a great brekkies.
The Koeman Bros discussing strategy while trailing to a goal by Harry Kane and Able.
Celtic have defeated St. Helen Mirren 4-1 in the Scots Cup after trailing for large parts of the match. They join rangers and Hibs, the holders , in the semis. The last quarter : Aberdeen vs Partick Thistle, kicks off in about 25 minutes.
Some Toffee subs warming up now.
Great near post save by Robles from Vertonghen
Wanyama heads wide from a cross by eriksen
GOAL! Harry Kane at the double! 19 goals now in the Prem!
GOAL !!! HARRY KANE AND YET AGAIN ABLE AS HE SCORES AND THE SPUDS SECOND . NOW 2-0.
As soon as I sit down after walk.... Kane scores again
Bloody modern day footballers...phaffing about with it at the back
After all of that hard work by the Toffees, they threw away that goal. A bit of gegenpressen and Kane was in one on own with Robles.
2-0 Spuds!
Spuds will now be seven points behind Chelski ahead of their match tomorrow evening.
Welcome back, UWS! That was a quick walkies - was it bloody freezing?
I agree - sometimes you just have to put your boot through it.
It was the high press at work as Robles rolled a pass to Schneiderlin. His pass to Ashley Williams was cut out by Delle Alli, who sandwiched a pass to Harry Kane and he feasted on that chance with a great finish past Robles.
Three hat-tricks in three games?
WHL fans sounds great
welcome back, UWS. Hopefully, you are thawing out. Agreed that passing at the back is not always effective.
Not sure how Everton can get back into this one.
The Toffees need something out of the blue or else this one is down and dusted.
Have Everton had a shot yet? Tom Davies comes off - Kevin Mirallas on.
Barry also off - McCarthy on.
You're on fire with the puns this morning, MUR.
I got abuse for my jokes!
A double change from Fat Ronnie. Young Tom Davies off and replaced by Kevin Mirrallis while old man , Gareth Barry , is replaced by Jimmy McCarthy. Not sure why that last change was made. a more attack minded sub tan McCarthy is needed/.
Cheers, Bob. Sorry , Dave. Bob must not be fan of McCarthyism, but for some reason Fat Ron is.
The fizz has gone out of this one since that second goal.
McCarthyism by Delle Alli with that foul. Vertonghen heads away the free kick.
Agreed. A great result for United, but both teams are now waiting for that final whistle.
Next up for the Spuds is an evil Fa Cup quarterfinal vs the Evil Lions next Sunday.
I wasn't giving you abuse, UWS. I just didn't understand them. Velcro?
Velcro..you do know what velcro is? How do you undo velcro.. you rip it apart!!!!
Did you get the other jokes?
Harry Kane is denied a hat-trick by the offside flag.
No - I told you, I'm half away and really thick this morning.
I got them . I just don't know why it's Sunday if it's not necessarily sunny.
Half awake, that is.
LOL, Bob!
The Sun DAWNed on me
toilet stolen....Had nothing to go on
ball getting bigger...Then it hit me
Classics...use them in your class
Is that a riff on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?" I don't know. It's a mystery to me.
Dembele with a stupid foul on Coleman , who went on a speedy run down the right. I guess the mustard was a bit spicy.
I think those are great punch lines.
Coleman fouls Delle Sandwich that perhaps had too much mustard inside.
Harry Winks on for Dembele.
Here comes Harry Winks, replacing Dembele.
Harry Kane has a shot come off of Ashley Williams for a corner.
Eriksen has a shot come off of Robles for another corner after a one two with Kyle Walker off a short corner.
Thanks MUR
GORDON BENNET DAHLGREN!!
GOAL..Lukaku makes it interesting
GOAL! Lukaku fires Everton back into the match. His 18th of the season!
I know - I'm hopeless.
GOAL !!! A CHUNK IS TAKEN FROM THE SPUDS LEAD AS THE TOFFEES ARE BACK IN IT. HE RECEIVED A PASS , FELLOW BELGIAN , VERTONGHEN SLIPPED , AND HE SCORED WITH A GREAT FINISH PAST LLORIS. GAME ON.
Enner Valencia has come on for Gana during that goal celebration.
Valencia on for Gana as the Toffees are Gana try to get something out of the match.
Kane almost in!
Oh - Kane was in on a hat-trick but Robles saved well.
Harry Kane through, tried to dink Robles ,w ho made himself big and well to prevent Kane from getting a hat-trick.
The Chunk has a shot deflect, but straight to Robles.
A North London vs Liverpool weekend.
Toby clears a tricky cross from Barkley for a Toffees corner.
Lloris punches away a corner then the Spuds counter off a Barkley slip
De Bruyne on the bench for City in the useless late game
Sissy on for Eriksen.
I think the Black Cats are doomed. It's all those cat naps.
Enner Valencia got in ahead of Lloris, who attempted to head clear.
Kane sucks...can't even score a hat-trick... get yanked off
Lloris in a spot of bother outside the area.
Kane coming off now.
The final roll of the dice from Poch as Vinny Jansen is on for Harry Kane
Into stoppage time.
Four minutes.
4 added minutes
Kane sure does suck. He sucks in the goals and sucks the life out of opposition defenses.
Goal.... Dele Alli wraps it up
GOAL! Dele Alli nips in to flick home Tottenham's third!
GOAL !!!! DELLE ALLI MAKES IT 3-1 AS HE DIVERTS IN A CHEEKY FREE KICK FROM ERIKSEN.
Ruddy Norah... 3-2
GOAL! Valencia makes it 3-2!!!
RUDDY NORAH !!! ENNER VALENCIA ALMOST IMMEDIATELY PULLS IT BACK TO 3-2./
Shite Fart got really quiet there all of a sudden.
Ashley Williams gets a late souvenir from his trip to North London - a booking.
Right off the kick off , Valencia diverted in a free kick from Barkley
Spurs have held on... Spurs are the team to catch Chelsea
That's it - Everton might well be kicking themselves there. Spuds definitely dominated but, without that late Alli goal, they might have stolen a point.
The Spuds hang on to win 3-2 with several late goals in match that seemed done and dusted.
No one is catching Chelski, IMHO.
Off to take Sparky walkies.
Off to do some washing up.
Are you lot sticking around for the late one?
Maybe... for a bit
I'm back for the late one now. Man Citeh need to have no slip ups today - just a ruthless desire to put the Black Cats to the sword. Otherwise, they can kiss the title challenge (and perhaps even European football) goodbye. With Spurs and Liverpool already have won this weekend and Chelski to play tomorrow, they'll need all three points. Sunderland, on the other hand, are scrapping for their Premiership lives. A win today, as improbable as it might sound, would bring them level on 22 points with a couple of rivals.
Teams in the tunnel at the SoL now:
Sunderland: Pickford; Jones, Kone, O’Shea, Oviedo; Ndong, Gibson, Larsson; Borini, Defoe, Januzaj. Subs: Mannone, Manquillo, Djilibodji, Rodwell, Khazri, Honeyman, Love.
Manchester City: Caballero; Sagna, Stones, Kolarov, Clichy; Yaya Toure, Fernandinho; Sterling, Silva, Sane; Aguero. Subs: Bravo, Otamendi, Fernando, Nolito, Iheanacho, Delph, De Bruyne.
Refr: Martin Atkinson.
Back for the late match after walkies, washing the dog bowl, and feeding Sparky.
They're off from the SOL
Agreed. This match is important for both teams for various reasons.
Billy Jones does well to get past Kolorov ,then his pass bounces off Dafoe and straight to Willy.
Oviedo clears for a Citeh corner.
Larsson called for a push on Silva.
Back from doing some stuff around the house
Did I miss anything?
Auero wins a corner off of Larsson. Again, it's easily headed away
Not really, lots of commitment, but no real chances for either side.,
I'm back too - I missed nowt as well. Citeh should be better than this. But they aren't.
Oh - Defoe has hit the post! Borini should have netted the rebound.
ooh, Ballhog Defoe turns and whacks it agains the post... rebound wide
Bummer
