Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The teams now gathering in the tunnel at the Em:
Arsenal - Ospina, Debuchy, Chambers, Holding, Kolasinac, Coq Au Vin, Willock, Elneny, Theo, Giroud, Welly.
West Ham - Hart, Masuaku, Ogbonna, Reid, Collins, Cresswell, Rice, Obiang, Quina, Ayew, Chicharito
Wahay - the coverage has started on ESPN.
Arsenal get us underway wearing their traditional strip. West Ham are in all-black this afternoon.
What must it feel for the likes of Theo Walcott and Rob Holding to be included in tonight's Arsenal Carabao Cup line-up, virtually confirming their status as forgotten men at the Emirates?
Chicha has a problem now after a clash with Chambers.
This is all one-way traffic for the Areanal without any real purchase up front. Moyes and co really parking the bus here today.
Arsenal racking up the corner tally now - it's five so far.
The Hammers starting to come out of their shells a bit more now.
Still no real chances for either side and no real rhythm to the match to speak of.
David Silva has fired Man City into the lead at the King Power Stadium tonight.
Half an hour in now and still 0-0. Not a classic so far.
GOAL! Welly gets his goal after two bites of the cherry.
1-0 Arsenal!
A fairly scrappy goal there. Welly latched on to a looping header back into the danger zone from Kolasinac. He fluffed the first attempt at a header, but when the ball bounced kindly for him, he kneed it in from about two yards.
The youngster Joe Willock found some space at the top of the box but wellied it well over the bar.
Half time arrives at the Em. Arsenal well in control of this one.
The second half has kicked off in Leicester. The coverage on ESPN3 hasn't come back on yet.
We're back on at the Emirates now.
Andy Carroll warming up now for the Hammers. He could do some damage off the bench tonight.
By the way, I've just noticed that it was Bernardo Silva and not David Silva who scored the lone Citeh goal against Leicester tonight.
Howls of protest as the referee ignores Chicha's pleas for a penalty as he's upended by Holding. I'd like to see that one again.
Nice run by Theo now but he overran it in the end. Goal kick.
Chicha and Cresswell about to come off now.
Good free kick chance now - Cresswell takes. It's well wide. Probably his last action for the night.
Carroll and Sakho on for that duo. Lots of firepower up front for West Ham now.
Carroll's first action is to foul Coq au Vin. Not an auspicious start.
Twenty minutes left of this contest. As I type, Arsenal and Citeh are going into the semis.
Arsenal want a penalty now as Joe Hart sprints out of his box and upends Welly. Yellow card for Hart. Free kick for the Arse.
Good afternoon, mate. I've been watching the Foxes vs Citeh. The light blues still one up in a not too entertaining contest.
Sorry. I was not aware that you had posted a thread.
Mangala has a nosebleed because he bumped into the back of Vardy's head in an aerial challenge.
Ollie Giroud seems to have pulled up with a hammy problem. Not a good sign for the Arse.
Afternoon, MUR - not a problem. Great to hear from you. How's the Citeh match been going?
Citeh temporarily down a player as nose plugs and a new shirt are in order.
Citeh's reserves have not been spectacular, but doing just enough to stay on top.
How is the match at the EM?
Vardy heads well wide off a cross from Mahrez.
So Giroud trudges off and is replaced by 18 year old Reiss Nelson
Kyle walker is on for Mangala, who had a severe nosebleed.
Fairly uneventful. Arsenal have really only broken West Ham down a couple of times. Welly scored a scrappy one after several attempts at the end of the first half. WH have thrown on Carroll and Sakho to try and dig this one out.
Another one of those famous Gunners?
Sounds similar to the match at the KP, but Citeh scored a well worked goal. Bernie Silva scored off a pass from Gundogan, who went on a 50 yard run prior to the pass.
Wenger started with a distinctly second string side. He's never won the League Cup and his disdain for it is fairly evident.
Amarty is pressured by Jesus into conceding a corner. Great pressing.
Marco Arnautovic coming on for the last few minutes.
Agreed. Wenger makes it really obvious.
Ben Shieff, a 14 year old with a girly head-band is coming on to shore up the defense for Arsenal now.
Harry Maguire concedes another corner to Citeh
WOW!!! He sounds really intimidating.
The final roll of the dice as one teenager is on for another.Lukas Nmecha on for Brahim Diaz.
At least Pep started a few regulars.
Joe Hart sweeps up as a long ball is played forward by Elneny.
I noticed that - Bernardo Silva, Gabby Jesus, etc. Pep seems to understand that the punters want to see trophies.
Vardy fails to connect off a pass from Damary Gray
Tmiwa Dele-Barshu on for Foden. Another teenage swap as there is eight is enough minutes of stoppage time,.
Even Jose gets it as he seems to have success in this competition.
The Foxes have a free kick with half a dozen minutes remaining. A decent free kick from Mahrez, but a poor header from Harry Maguire is well wide.
Into stoppage time now at the Emirates. Arsenal trying to see this one out.
You lot should have a fairly easy outing tomorrow - will you be around?
Yes. I will be around, tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday.
PENALTY FOXES. DAMARI GRAY WENT DOWN REALLY EASILY FROM MINIMAL CONTACT BY KYLE WALKER WOW!
Lovely.
Wow - could go into extra time, eh?
GOAL !!! VARDY SCORES WITH A WELL PLACED PENALTY IN THE CORNER . THERE WILL BE ET IN THIS MATCH
It was an extremely soft penalty.
That's that - Arsenal are through to the semi-finals. It's Arsene Wenger's seventh time in that stage of the League Cup.
About a minute of stoppage time remaining,
I've switched over the match at the King Power now.
The end of regulation at the KP. There will be half an hour of ET.
ET is underway from the KP.
Citeh attack from the off and a cross from Kyle Walker is headed straight to Ben Hamer by Jesus
As we start the extra time, Gabby Jesus has a headed attempt from a Kyle Walker cross. Collected by Kasper.
Oh - Okazaki was nearly in there from the long ball. Danilo lost it but Kyle Walker came to the rescue.
I'm not taking the match at Ashton Gate lightly . The Robins are third in the Championship and we may be fielding a reserve side. United cannot take anything for granted.
Kyle Walker tumbles in the box and Bobby Madeley rewards him with a yellow card.
Kyle Walker booked for diving. A booking, a penalty, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Kyle Walker has not had luck with penalty decisions, mate.
Gundogan fouls Damari Gray just outside the Citeh box. He will need to be careful as he's on a card.
Leicester have a free kick chance now - Peroxide Blonde hair model Riyadh Mahrez is the likeliest.
Another awful header by Maguire also from another Mahrez free kick
Maguire attacked the free kick from Mahrez but this time didn't make contact.
There must be something in the free kick delivery that Harry Maguire does not like. You would expect better from an England international.
Citeh now with a free kick chance, Gundogan waves off the young Zinchenko.
Iborra heads out the free kick from Gundogan for a corner . Taken short to Zinchenko and his cross is headed away
This is a cracking cup tie now.
Oh - Bravo dithered on that clearance and Vardy nearly made him pay for it.
YIKES!! Bravo nearly messes up a clearance yards from his goal. Fortunately for him, it goes off of Vardy and just wide.
Why is Pep letting the fourth official have it? It's not his fault that Bravo has trouble with clearances.
Fortunes favors the Bravo, but not Bravo for the messed up attempt at the clearance.
Harry Maguire is booked for a late challenge on one of the Citeh teens.
Ben Hamer catches the curling free kick from Yaya.
HT of ET at KP.
Free kick now for Citeh with Yaya expressing some interest in it. This will be the last action of the first half of extra time.
Yaya whips it brilliantly around the wall. Gathered by Hamer.
Is this headed to penalties?
Citeh players getting a Pep talk.
Claude Puel either giving Mahrez a Pep talk or his two Francs worth.
The second half of ET is underway
This might well go to penalties. Didn't Wolves take Citeh to pens in the last round?
I think they did. Spot on , mate.
Both sides seem much more tentative at this stage. Neither wants to make the error that will lose the match.
A long range effort from Zinchenko is not too far over.
Oh - Zikchenko with a blast from distance there.
Bealouannne on for Dragovic . A defensive switch that indicates the Foxes are settling for penalties.
I think Citeh will want to settle this without the penalty shootout.
Probably their best chance now.
Damari Gray [picks Kyle Wlaker's [pocket, plays a one two with Vardy then wins a corner off of Wlaker.
Late by Yaya on Okozaki.
A little over five minutes and then pens here at the KP.
Great save by Bravo from Mahres. Now Citeh counter. Now they don't
Vardy appeared to be tripped by Danilo. The replay showed that was more a collision.
Banalouane clears for a late Citeh corner.
Leicester have been much more enterprising in this second period than I would have expected.
Harry Maguire goes on a long solo run then his cross results in a miss hit volley by Vardy straight to Bravo.
Oh - a gut busting run by Harry Maguire now and then a lovely chipped cross to Vardy. The striker got the volley all wrong.
Agreed, mate. I was expecting them to settle for spot kicks.
A long range effort from Yaya is easily saved by Hamer.
A single of ET in ET
And we will have penalties.
That's the end of ET. It's 1-1 as this one will be settled by a penalty shootout, sponsored by ABBA.
Pep in sporting mood as he shakes the hands of the officials before the spot kicks.
I wonder if the ABBA penalties will be Citeh's "Waterloo?"
Boom boom!
The Foxes are A and Citeh B in this shootout
BOOM BOOM , Basil.
1-0 Foxes as Fuchs blasts a great penalty in the upper 90.
It's Leicester's turn first and Christian Fuchs to take.
Wonderful penalty into the upper 90.
1-0 Leicester.
1-1 as Gundogan sends Hamer the wrong way
Gundogan is first up for Citeh and scores a tricky one.
1-1
Yaya Toure takes the B penalty for Citeh...
And scores coolly. 1-2 Citeh
Pep can't bear to watch as Yaya is up to take. It's 2-1 Citeh as Yaya sends Hamer the wrong way after a stutter step.
Harry Maguire for Leicester now....
Scores well. Nice one. 2-2
It's Desmond as Harry Maguire sends Bravo the wrong way
Iborra makes it 3-2 with a well placed shot that Bravo almost saved.
Now it's Iborra who scores a brilliant pen right in the corner.
3-2 Leicester.
It's 3-3 as one of the youth academy players scores.
Next up Citeh and it's a tasty one in the corner.
3-3
Gabby Jesus steps up for Citeh's fourth. Scores.
3-4 Citeh now.
Jesus to take. He places it in the corner, sending Hamer the wrong way to make it 4-3 to Citeh
Jamie Vardy now with the burden for Leicester. His second pen of the night.
Misses!
Vardy misses as it goes off the offside of the post and wide.
Now it's Mahrez to rescue the matter. He must score.
Saved Claudio Bravo!
Citeh are into the semis!
Mahrez needs to score. He misses and Citeh are through to the semis . Bravo dove the wrong way, but it came off his foot.
Four quality penalties from Citeh there.
I'm headed home. Great chatting with you,. I will be around tomorrow.
CHEERS!
That's it for me, mate. I'm off to fix some supper. I'll look for you at the same time for United v. Bristols tomorrow.
