New Year's Day Footie
It's a chilly start to the New Year and what better way to stay warm than to watch some Premier League Footie. There seems to be an endless amount of matches, which continue today. It's Burnley vs Liverpool on NBCSN and a relegation six pointer on CNBC as Stoke hosts the Toon. The late one is the Toffees vs United.. Leeds vs Forest is on ESPN3. Plenty on offer prior to New Year's dinner. Join me if you can

CRICKEY! It's ten degrees warmer on Merseyside than in Harlingen. Can that be?
It finished Desmond in the South Coast Derby between the Cherries and Seagulls. Now time to load the link for Leeds vs Forest
Happy New Year boys
Just turned on the Leeds link as well
Don't mention the temperature.... it bloody freezing here
Weak effort by Hernandez... almost a back pass
Pablo Hernandez failed to take advantage of a poor clearance and his shot was easily saved.
Elland Road looks packed
Good morning, Dave. I just didn't think it would be that much warmer in Merseyside than here, which is supposed to have the same climate as Florida. Go to Merseyside to escape the cold?
Jose is doing his best to drive our fans over to the dark side at ER!
I am going to have to take Shadow for a walk at half time of the these matches but I will return
So bummed I have to go back to work tomorrow!!!
Gary Brazil is the caretaker manager at Forest since Mark Warburton was sacked yesterday. A replacement for Jose?
Forest are looking dangerous
Great saving tackle and then a cross that didn't hit a teammate
I am so fed up with Jose.
I hate his schtick
How about letting his team go out and attack
Forest on top right now
YIKES!!!! Have you ever gone back that early? I'm off for another week? I'm supposed to go back next Monday, but am delaying a day because Melanie will be getting her wisdom teeth pulled that day
The Two Robbies were hilarious yesterday. They put out a United lineup and checked what if Pep were in charge of United. Other than two or three players, the quality is similar. Pep is getting the most out of players and Jose is not
ooh, off the line twice by Forest!!
Yup, we usually go back right after NYD if there are enough days left of the week.
In a couple of years we won't
Leeds win a corner after a miss timed header si cleared for a corner . Then Leeds should have taken the lead. A close range effort is blocked then instead of hitting the Roof of the net , Kemar Roofe finds the roof of the stand from two yards out
Leeds starting to put on pressure
Kemar Roofe has a shot blocked for a corner.,
Dog is really at me
I am going to have to walk him now
I will be back
See you in a bit
Liverpool with a chance as Nick Pope saves as Nick Pope saves a close range effort from the Ox
Cheers, Dave. Stay warm. Look forward to chatting with you later.
In a promotion six pointer in L 2 , Lincoln take the lead at ten man Luton early on.
It's 1-1 between Preston and Middlesbrough. The Teesiders took the lead then the home team equalized a minute later. Tony Pulis will not be pleased.
Luke Ayling was down, but not ailing as he's back up and ready to go.
Kieran Dowell, on loan from the Toffees, goes on a solo run for Forest , but his shot is well wide.
Gary Madine gives Bolton a much needed lead vs the disappointing Tigers
Luke Ayling is down , ailing for Leeds again. That will be a huge loss for Leeds.
Vernon Anita, the former Toon player, is on for the ailing starter.
The Rams are Cup opponents on Friday, take the lead vs the Evil Blades.
The Real Dons take a much needed lead vs Southend on Sea.
Kieran Clark misses a sitter for the Toon,. A corner from Matt Ritchie was headed on and Clark shot high and wide from a yard out
The Gils go two up at declining Charlton.
Cash wins a Forest corner and Bob will be pleased that Forest don't cash in on that opportunity as Leeds clear it away
Ten man Luton show why they're top of L2 as they tie it up vs newly promoted Abe Lincoln, who themselves, are looking for another promotion.
Now Abe Lincoln regains the lead going 1-2 up in Bedfordshire.
Jayne Mansfield in her favorite position; on top; two up vs Carlisle.
Stevenage have come from behind to lead Cheltenham 2-1
Tranny shooting blanks as they are three down at AFC Fylde
Abe Lincoln with a player sent off and it's now ten against ten in Bedfordshire.
Bob will be pleased that struggling Richard Burton has taken the lead at Hillsborough
Ridsdale's lads have come from behind to take a 2-1 lead vs Pulis's troops.
Wycombe go two up at ten man Forest Green , who are bottom of the Football League in their first season of league football.
Coventry take the lead vs struggling Chesterfield.
Jansson is the first player of the match to be booked as it's for a foul on former Leeds player , Eric Lichaj.
a triplet of stoppage time minutes at ER.
It's 0-0 at the half of all three Prem matches being played.
BUGGER! . Former Leeds player, Morison, gives the Evil Lions the lead at CR on the stroke of halftime.
It's Desmond between Luton and Abe Lincoln.
It's 0-0 at the half at ER as it is in the two televised matches.
I am back for a frigid walk
2 degrees with wind!
We are off again at Turf Moor
Not many goals around
My Leeds link is way behind the Prem game.... Players not out yet
YIKES!!! Glad you're back in the warm surroundings. It's 22 with the wind chill here, which is well below average for us.
Final Score is already on the Red Button channel
Same here. I think the match at ER kicked off a few minutes late.
I refreshed the Leads match... still kids on the field
Now bloody commercials on the link
Apparently Salah has a groin injury
Final Score talking about how deep Pogba is playing
We are five minutes into the half and the second half is just about to start at Elland Road
Christiansen has made a halftime substitution as La Soggy is on for Alioski. Sounds like Leeds will be more direct the second half. Only one substitution remaining
Second half underway at ER
Goal at Sunderland for Barnsley
Wednesday two down at home to Burton
Jose sure is not utilizing Pogba properly. The two Robbies discussed how Pep would have given him a free role like Sane has at Citeh. That is his strength.
I can't believe United have dropped so many points during the festive fixtures
Leicester have taken the lead with a goal by Mahrez
Two former LUFC players starting for Forest.: Eric Lichaj and Liam Bridcutt . Bob will want them to be schooled.
Cardiff have a penalty at Loftus Road....they've lost their last three games... one nil
Great finish by Mahrez apparently
United should buy him!!
Mahrez gives the Foxes the lead vs Bob's beloved Terriers.
Norwich tie it up vs Millwall
A return to Loftus Road for Evil Neil.
The link at ER is two minutes behind Final Score
Leicester hit the net again but this time disallowed
The Two Robbies were discussing that if Pep were in charge at United with the current players that he really would only need a right back and a central defender. Otherwise, fairly compatible to the Citeh side. I agree with them
Salford City 2-1 vs FC United of Manchester
WAY HAY!
Totally agree with them
I never wanted him
BUGGER.... Liverpool take the lead!
The Blades tie it up at Pride Park
Leicester double their lead
Leeds crash the crossbar!!
OH!!!! Leeds nearly take the lead with a shot off the bar instead of the Roofe of the net.
GOAL !!! COUTINHO GIVES POOL THE LEAD AT TURF MOOR.
QPR tie it up sharpish vs Cardiff
I have LOB, ER and FS all going on my laptop at once
Lovely Jubbly
MANE OH MANE! I named the wrong scorer. The Ox tackled Jack Cork in midfield then played it out wide to Trent Alexader-Arnold. He passed to Mane whose rocket landed in the upper 90.
Cambridge and Portsmouth both scoreless away from home so far
The Foxes have the French foreign legion to thank as SLimani puts the Foxes two up.
Great job. You are the techie.
Desmond PNE and Boro
Former Leeds player, Jonny Howson score to make it Desond for Pulis's lads at Ridsdale's l;ads
If Liverpool win, they would be equal on points with United... we are dropping down!
Pompey take the lead at Bristol Rovers. Congrats, Dave.
Accrington Stanley vs Morecambe and Wise has been abandoned. I'm guessing due to a waterlogged pitch as it's just down the road from Turf Moor where it's raining cats and dogs.
We definitely need the points at the other Liverpool team. Too many draws.
Wiedwald forced to save from Kieran Dowell as Forest are starting to dominate.
GOAL !!!! AYOZE GIVES THE TOON THE LEAD AT THE bRIT IN THAT RELEGATION SIX POINTER.
Eric Lichaj booked for a foul on a Leeds break. Bob will not be one bit surprised.
Jansson down for Leeds. That would be their final substitution and a player they cannot afford to lose to injury
The Toon must be thrilled
Really need a Burnley goal soon
Hughes rested so many players at Stamford Bridge for this match and are now losing...is he in trouble
Boro were 2-1 down but are now 3-2 at Deepdale
The goal is the story of Stoke's season, illustrating why they have the worst defense in the league. A poor pass from Charlie Adam, who is past it, was gifted to Jacob Murphy. He went on a long run down the right and his pass across the box was diverted in by Ayoze past the stranded Jack Butland
This may be Sparky's last match in charge of the Potters
The Potters nearly tie it up. Karl Darlow with a superb close range save from Diouf.
United's line up just announce
Young is banned for three games because of an elbow
De Gea
Lindeloff
Jones
Rojo
Shaw
Matic
Herrera
Mata
Pogba
Lingard
Martial
Bench
Romero
Darmian
Smalling
Tuanzebe
Blind
Miki
Rashford
Cardiff were winning but are now behind at QPR
Norwich doing the same v Millwall
Evil Cardiff looking at four losses in a row in an unhappy return to Loftus Road for Evil Neil.
Luton take the lead 3-2 vs Lincoln
She Utd equalized at Derby
Leeds need a winner
It's raining cats and dogs in the north of England
Wednesday two down at home to Burton on Monday
Should they have sacked the manager that took them to two consecutive playoffs?
The final roll of the dice for Thomas Christiansen as Sacko is on for Roofe.
Cardiff invited Desmond at Loftus Road
The ref and linesman talk for a minute or so...and they decide not to let Desmond in.... Warny is going potty
Come on BURNLEY
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Burnley tie it up in the 87th minute!
GOAL !!!! BURNLEY TIE IT UP VS LIVERPOOL
Pompey on the way to their tenth win in twelve games
gREAT KICK SAVE BY sMITH FROM hERNADEZ OFF A pRE sAIZ PASS
Why wouldn't Coutinho not even be in the squad... is he on the Iberian Peninsula ?
Leeds should have scored there!!
Are Burnley the Best of the Rest or are they going to make the top six
Stoke nearly tioed it up as Darlow superbly saved a close range header from Diouf . Stoke fans headed for the exits.
Bugger.. Bristol Rovers have tied it up v Pompey
Two former Leeds players combined to set up the Burnley goal. Charlie Taylor went on a run down the left and his cross was headed on by Sam Vokes for Gudmunsson to score with an easy tap in at the far post
Luton 4-2 up now
Leeds almost score again... the header doesn't go in!
Burton three up at Hillsboro
The Leeds substituions nearly pay off. A great cross from Sacko and La Soggy from two yards out with a header that lacks the power to beat Smith in the Forest goal
Albrighton scores a third goal for Leicester
DAMN IT
Liverpool score in the 94th minute
GOAL !!!! KLAVEN , OF ALL PEOPLE HAS WON IT LATE FOR LIVERPOOL. NOW 1-2 AT TURF MOOR.
Bugger again.... Bristol Rovers take the lead
We are in the 95th minute and Liverpool make the substitution... I HATE IT
Burnley have only themselves to blame as a long free kick from the Ox was headed on by Loveren and then headed in at the far post by Klaven from a yard out. Two free headers.
GET IT IN THE BOX BURNLEY!!
It is all over
Newcastle win at Stoke
Half a dozen minutes of stoppage time at ER
Into SIX added minutes at Elland Road
Leeds time
Pool win 1-2 at Turf Moor and the Toon win 0-1 at the Brit where Stoke fans look like they want Hughes sacked.
So Liverpool are now equal on points for United
I can't see United getting all three today
I was correct. Stoke fans holding signs that say Hughes out
Pompey loses
Cardiff have lost at LR
Albrighton scored in stoppage time as the Foxes thrashed the Terriers 3-0
Will Leeds go 180 minutes without a goal ?
He scored a little earlier than that... I gave that score
Boro have won at PNE
It's over at ER and Leeds held 0-0 by Forest. A frustrating result for Bob.
All over at Elland Road
0-0
Shame
Sorry Bob
Jose is such a sourpuss
Salford and FC United invited Desmond to their match
If United lose by two goals at Goodison Park, they will be down to fourth
I really can't see United winning today
A draw is the best I think we will do
Stoke's next league match... at Old Trafford
I still don't understand why Spurs didn't play a game over the weekend
I'm not sure either, but they play tomorrow and Thursday. The same is true of the Hammers. I guess it's to suit the television company.
United play Derby on Friday night at the same time as the Merseyside derby
The Merseyside Derby is on FS1
The real Derby is on FS2
Just looked it up
They play tomorrow v Swansea and then West Ham on Thursday
The West Ham game was moved from NYE
Wonder when they both play in the Cup. Sunday? Monday?
They both play on Sunday
Z Cars playing as the teams come out at Goodison Park
Aston Villa taking on Bristol City
Probably on ESPN3
The teams are out on the pitch at Goodison to theme of Zed Cars as the Toffees are led out by former United players , Roon and Michael Keane
Doesn't look like it is on ESPN
I wonder who Bob will be rooting for? Will he want a draw?
We are off...
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
They're off from Goodison.
Herrera really annoys me
Decent cross by Balasie
What an atrocious pass by the above mentioned
I will be around for the Cu matches. I will post the thread for those . Will you be home in time for those matches?
Another poor pass by him but Pogba uses his strength
Strange defending by Rojo, but he gets away with it.
I'll be watching the World Darts Final today on BBC America
United looking toothless to start
Did you see that Leeds has a noon time kickoff on Sunday. I might record that. Too early for our time zone.
This whole festive run could have all be so much different if we netted those sitters against Leicester or didn't concede in the 95th minute
De Gea didn't come collect that.. corner to Everton... comes to nothing
Roon has a shot deflected for a corner. Young Mason Holgate heads over the corner from Roon.
Free header tho... I thought Jose was a master of defending set pieces.... we are hopeless
Roon thinks he's still playing for United
Looked up... perfect pass to a red shirt
Melanie will have her wisdom teeth pulled next Monday. Just like the United attack? BOOM BOOM!
Jose is the master complainer and as the two Robbies stated, Yesterday's Man!
Dixon says United continuing to play too slow
I've been saying that for a long time
Boom boom
United were dead level with Citl...points, GD, GS, GA and then Jose said we aren't good enough to attack at Anfield
Since then.... now look at the two teams stats
Did you see who scored for QPR on Evil Neil's return to Loftus Road? Smith and Smyth. The first one Matty Smith?
United beat Everton 4-0 before that Anfield visit
Everton and Palace are the only two teams to get anything from City
Nice stat from LR
Again....UNITED ARE BORING ME
Cheers, Dave. I'm guessing Evil Neil will not be listening to any music from the Smyth's any time soon? Is that correct?
Coutinho out of the squad
Nike posted a Barca Coutinho shirt promo.
Interesting
Why would you join now? You're cup-tied in the CL
We were never going to expect entertainment in battle of wits between Jose and Fat Sam
Finally, United get it in the box... two players miss the cross... SHOOT
it's probably all about the money for Coutinho. probably none too concerned about the CL. Typical modern footballer.
United have so much pace in the squad but NEVER use it!!
Why did Herrera dummy it
If I were interviewing Evil Neil after the loss at LR I would have called him a Wordsmith after he responded to any questions.
Roon has a long range effort deflected for a corner.
United caught in a pickle as the corner from Roon was headed out and a long range effort from Vlasic was well over.
