The main story is that captain , Jamaal Lascelles , is out of the squad . Raffa says it's an ankle injury while other sources say it was a fallout with Raffa over his position in a new back three.Federico Fernandez, signed from the Swans , starts in his place.

An exciting early start at The Cottage as it's between the Cottagers and Burnley. Kate with an early goal for the Cottagers before Jeff Hendrick scored the equalizer half a dozen minutes later for Burnley.

A real Hazard for Chelsea as their star player was down earlier and is down again with what seems like a pulled muscle. Will their manager feel Mau Sarri for that?

11:21 AM

Skipper , Lascelles, in the executive box, texting instead of watching the match. Shelvey out with an injury and replaced by Ki , signed from the Swans. Another new Toon signing as Fabian Schaar starts along Fernandez in the center of defense as Raffa took advantage of the Sonny and Schaar breakup.

Hazard back on for the time being

11:23 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Kovacic passes to Hazard and that long rang effort was not a Hazard to the Toon as it was well wide.

11:24 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

An early substitution for Burnley as Iceland World Cup player , Gudmunsson, is replaced by former Leeds player, Charlie Taylor. Bob will not want him to feel welcome at The Cottage.

11:26 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Morata has a shot deflected for a corner on a counter off a rare Toon attack. He was set up by Kovacic.

11:28 AM

Marcos Alonso may not be a fan of Russian politics , but that doesn't give him the right commit a nasty foul. Toon free kick between the Chelsea box and the corner flag. Free kick from Ritchie headed out then the return cross from Dummit headed not too far wide by Runned ON. First real Toon scoring chance of the match

11:34 AM

Nice run and pass from Hazard as he passes to Pedro ,, but his tame effort from the edge of the box is easily saved by Dubravka

11:36 AM

The Cottagers back in the lead vs Burnley and it's a second from Kate, now on a hat-trick. Bob will be pleased against a visiting Burnley that is not exactly his cuppa tea.

11:37 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Now 2-1 to the Cottagers.

11:38 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The second goal has actually been credited to Mitrovic , assisted by Tom Cairney. Sorry Bob.

11:39 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Now 3-1 at The Cottage. What exactly is going on there? Mitrovic on a hat-trick with his second in as many minutes. This one assisted by Dario Vietto.

The Toon win their first corner of the match. Taken short and a cross headed out for their second. Then Kante heads out for a third corner.

11:41 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Then Chelsea attack and Alonso fouled by one of the Murphy twins about 30 yards from goal.

11:42 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The free kick from Hazard headed out for a Chelsea corner.

11:43 AM

Minutes earlier , Kovacic booked for a clumsy challenge.

11:43 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

What a match at The Cottage. Tarkowski pulls one back for Burnley, who now trail 3-2. Ben Mee with the assist.

11:44 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Into stoppage time .A minute of that

11:45 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

It's 0-0 at the half , which is a credit to the Toon , considering the off the pitch turmoil in the past few days. Into stoppage time at The Cottage.

Dubravka easily saves a near post effort from Azpi off some nice one touch Chelsea passing.

12:06 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Yeltsin called for a clumsy push on Morata midway between the Toon box and the touchline.

12:09 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Atrocious free kick from Hazard easily cleared.

12:09 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Azpi down off a hard, but fair challenge from Kieran Clark. Back up on his feet and Raffa makes the first substitution of the match as Joselu has been Runned On to the pitch.

12:19 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Will Raffa be Mo Saurri now that Olly is on for Morata?

12:22 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

He may be no longer with Sonny and Schaar, but discovering that some fouls are a real Hazard as he's booked.

12:22 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The final rolls of the dice from Sean Dyche . One former Leeds player on for another and it's like for like as Sam Vokes is on for Chris Wood. Also, Ashley Barnes on for Stephen Ward , which is an attacking move .Still 3-2 to The Cottagers.

12:27 PM

The closest either team has come to scoring at SJP as a long range Chelsea effort crashes off the Sunday Roast on a Sunday afternoon.

12:28 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

That was from Rudiger from about 35 yards out. Another Toon change as Ayoze is on for one of the Murphy twins

12:29 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Bob and Kate respond to those changes and it's like for like as ex Gunner, Callum Chambers, on for Joe Bryan, recently signed from Bristol City. Bob states that its' not idle gossip.

PENALTY CHELSEA AS MARCOS ALONSO WENT DOWN KIND OF EASILY AND

GOAL !!! Hazard off the mark as he scores a great penalty.

12:33 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Schaar guilty off the challenge on Marcos Alonso that resulted in the penalty and no wonder why he was kicked out of Sonny and Schaar as he was well out of Toon with that challenge.

12:34 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

another change that may make the Toon feel Mou Sarri as Ross Barkley is on for Kovacic.

12:35 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Raffa agrees with Yours Truly as he's had his fair Schaar of out of Toon players and he's replaced by Japanese international, Muto.

GOAL !!!! THE TOON TIE IT UP AS JOSELU HEADS IN A NEAR POST CROSS FROM YELTSIN. OLLY FURIOUS AS HE APPEARED TO BE ELBOWED IN THE FACE BY YELTSIN SECOND S BEFORE THE CROSS. LOOKS LIKE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FOUL.

12:40 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Tom Cairney off injured and replaced by Andre Anguissa due to a clumsy challenge from Charlie Taylor . Bob will not be pleased.

12:41 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

A dull match to match the weather in the NE of England, may actually have dramatic final few minutes.

12:42 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

GOAL !!!! THERE IS IS AS A FREE KICK FROM WILLIAN IS HEADED ON BY OLLY TO MARCOS ALONSO AND HIS SHOT TAKES A WICKED DEFLECTION OFF OF YELTSIN. NOT SURE IF ALONSO WILL BE CREDITED OR IF IT WILL BE AN OG.

12:44 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Bob and Kate will Schurrle be pleased as one of their new signings returns to the Premier League and opens his scoring account for the Cottagers , who now lead Burnley 4-2.

12:45 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Sean Dyche may regret starting Joe Hart in goal in place of Nick Pope and Tom Heaton, who kept him out of the World Cup squad and from being on standby.

Afternoon, MUR - sorry to abandon you this morning. I got back from my Toronto road trip at 2:30am and needed the extra kip. Some very interesting results there. Of course, I'm delighted to see Liverpool back on top because it means that I'm Top of the Pops again this week.

I should be around for the United-Spurs fest tomorrow, if things change for you.
