Footie Trivia of the Week
It's been a long time since we've had a good trivia question on the LOB; however, I heard a good one on the 606 podcast last week that I thought I'd run by you.
"Wayne Rooney's appearance for England against the US in last week's friendly has led many England fans to think nostalgically over Roon's career. So, who were the 24 players who joined Wazza in his first England squad for the Euro 2004 tournament?"

This is a tough one but I will give it a go. Starting out with Stevie G, lamps, the Neville Brothers, and the Ginger Ninja.
I will add David Beckham. That's half a dozen for starters if those are all correct choices. How about Joe Cole to make it Lucky 7
I just thought of Glen Johnson even though 8 is not enough to make 24.
You're spot on with the first six, mate. So the squad so far is:
1. Wayne Rooney
2. Gary Neville
3. Phil Neville
4. David Beckham
5. Frank Lampard
6. Steven Gerrard
7. Paul Scholes
Neither Joe Cole nor Glen Johnson made the squad that summer. Any other guesses?
Hoe about paul Robinson and Calamity James?
Also John Terry.
Sol Campbell
Well done, mate - the two goalkeepers and two defenders were all in the 2004 squad. You've up to 11 of the 25:
8. Paul Robinson
9. David James
10. John Terry
11. Sol Campbell.
Darius Vassell?
Rio
How about Woodgate?
Good shout, UWS! Darius Vassell was one of the ones I couldn't name - he's a tough one. That's 12.
Rio must have been injured because he wasn't in the squad. Sadly, Woody didn't make the bus either.
Rio may have been banned for missing that drug test. He wasn't able to pay in the Cup Final in 04 vs Millwall
That sounds right. Still 13 squad members to go. You're missing some obvious starters. For example, who was England's main striker in 2004?
Any other guesses, lads?
