A Rather Big Sunday
Happy Sunday, LOBers! There is a reason that yesterday's matches were a bit rubbish. Yes - all of the decent sides are playing this morning. The big day starts early with Liverpool's match against lowly Fulham. At 9:15am, Chelsea meet Everton at the Bridge. Finally at 11:30, we've got Arsenal v. Wolves and of course, the big one - the Manchester Derby. It doesn't get bigger or better. Join me?

Substitutes: Bettinelli, Ream, Fosu-Mensah, Kebano, Johansen, Seri, Vietto.
Referee Paul Tierney.
Anfield fans in full voice with "You'll Never Walk Alone" now. Magical. American fans will now be used to experiencing this pre-match moment.
Remembrance Day moment of silence now for the 17 Liverpool players and the six who were killed in WWI. Wow!
Fulham, in white, kick off from left to right. Liverpool are in red.
It looks like both teams are playing 4-2-3-1 - Liverpool with Salah up front, Fulham with Cairney behind Mitrovic.
With a win this morning, Liverpool will go back on top at least for an hour or so. Then they'll hope that United can get something from the derby.
Oh - first big chance for the Reds. Mane really should have scored but sprayed his shot well wide. They were lining up there; ominous signs for the Cottagers.
Well, well - first corner of the match to Fulham. Really quiet in Anfield right now.
Not a bad start from Fulham. Only that one Mane chance within the first 15 minutes and they're making inroads.
Oh - a dangerous pot shot from Shaqiri, who had a lot of space to line up the shot. Just wide.
Liverpool have a ball on from left to right all the time, with Shaqiri and especially Alexander-Arnold constantly in space.
Oh - Salah wriggled through there but Rico saved at his feet. Great move!
Oh - Sessegnon was straight in there and should have scored. Fulham won't get many great chances like that and the youngster should have buried it.
Liverpool fans starting to get a bit restless as we approach the half hour mark. They would have expected their side to be a couple of goals up by now.
Oh - Sadio Mane tries a curler but it balloons up over the bar.
Oh - Alisson bobbled the routine shot by Schurlle and Mitrovic was lurking. Poor stuff from the Brazilian and he had to be bailed out by Van Dyck.
Shaqiri lines up a free kick but drills it into the Fulham wall. That must have hurt!
Oh - Shaqiri with another big chance but he shanks it with his left peg. Wrong foot?
Oh - Mane was through there but his touch left him down and Christie was able to clear the danger.
GOAL! End to end stuff there and Salah streaks through moments after Fulham have a goal disallowed for offside and he slots home easily.
1-0!
Mitrovic might feel hard done by there as Alexander-Arnold might have been playing him on when he nodded home. Pool took advantage and launched Salah down the right to score.
Mitrovic again has a chance! Allison got down well to hang onto that shot.
Fulham have been excellent, particularly going forward, and will still think they can get something out of this. That said, you’d fancy Liverpool to score at least one more in the second half.
Off to get the Sunday paper out of the rack for a half-time read. Liverpool 1-0 up.
Liverpool get us underway in the second half. No changes on either side.
GOAL! Shaqiri doubles Liverpool's lead with a lovely controlled volley from a ball in from the Robertson. Great goal!
2-0!
Fulham have done a lot of good things in this game but this could get messy for them now.
Hi Bob
I was watching the first half in bed and Fulham were doing well
Went to the loo... and Liverpool score of course
Fulham haven't started this half
wonder how long it will take to see when Mr. No Reload notices I'm here
FA Cup
Cambridge behind to a non leaguer
Salford fell behind to Shrewsbury but equalized immediately
Alexander-Arnold lines up a free kick and drills it into the wall. Another useless free kick effort.
Free kick chance for Pool inside the D
Salah, Shaq or Three First Names to take..TFN takes it... straight into the wall
Why would Three First Names and VVD take the free kicks!
Morning, UWS - how are you, mate? This game is over. The rest is detail.
Yup... ignored again by Mr No Reload
Hey....I'm noticed!
That's a very good question, although Shaqiri was as useless with his in the first half. Don't they practice them?
I was just reading that Fulham had a goal disallowed just before Liverpool scored. Was it offside?
Cambridge two down to Guiseley
Barkley not in the side to face his old club
Not liking NBC these days... no Arsenal again on the telly
Steve must be boiling!
I suppose I had gotten used to being on my own, Mr. No Show During the First Half. ;-)
He really is; he's starting to understand what it feels like to be a Leeds fan. He hasn't chipped in for the NBC Gold package yet but considering it.
Good point
This result is going to set the Manc Derby really well. It really puts pressure on Citeh. But I expect United to be able to get something today. A United win would really open up the title race.
I've got to run and take care of a friend's pets after this one. Will probably miss the first few minutes of the Chelsea v. Everton match.
LUFC Academy about to come on for a late cameo.
Vietto has come on for Schurrle as well for Fulham.
Alone again...naturally.
Mitrovic has another sight of goal - slices it well over and wide. Not going to be his day.
I'm here Gilbert
I am going to have to take Shad for a walk soon.
LOL!
Another thing that ticks me off about modern day football are corners...not that they are crap and never beat the first man but how the players don't put the ball in the little arc by the flag. What's the point?
Into stoppage time now. In truth, this one was over after Shari's goal went in. Fulham will remain in the drop zone. Liverpool will go top at least temporarily.
Agreed - the linesman should be watching that more closely.
Another RIDICULOUS substitution.... it should be banned
That's that - I'm off to feed the kitties. Enjoy your walkies!
Milner makes a modern day cross...closes eyes and hits as hard as he can... doesn't be the first man!
That's it
Liverpool on top of the lot.
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Had a late lie in, walked Sparky, and fed him and the fellow pets. Ready to go
Hundreth anniversary of the end of WWI and Vets Day today
A nightmare trip to W Yorkshire for Cambridge. Being thrashed 4-0 by 6th tier Guisley. Their most embarrassing Cup result ever?
Salford City drawing 1-1 at the Shrews. A creditable result
Cambridge pull one back. Now 4-1. The comeback on, LOL!
Chorley lead Donny Trump 2-1 while Jayne Mansfield on top of Charlton. Bobby or Jackie?
Celtic were surprisingly held 0-0 at Livingston, but go top , ahead of Hearts on goal difference and with a game in hand.
Chelsea vs the Toffees is underway
Alfreton pull one back vs fleetwood Mac, but Stevie Nicks sings trailing 1-3
Early Toffees pressure and Rich Arlison has a shot blocked for a corner
Curling corner headed wide by Andre Gomes. A decent chance for the Toffees.
Morning, MUR - i'm back just in time for kick-off. How are you, mate?
Here are the teams on display at the Bridge now:
Chelsea (quatro-tre-tre, stupido): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, David Luiz, Alonso; Jorginaho, Kante, Kovacic; Willian, Morata, Hazard. Subs: Caballero, Christensen, Zappacosta, Fabregas, Barkley, Pedro, Giroud.
Everton (quatro-dois-trĂŞs-um, estĂşpido): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne; Gueye, Gomes; Walcott, Sigurdsson, Bernard; Richarlison. Subs: Stekelenburg, Baines, Jagielka, Davies, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin, Tosun.
Referee: Rache l Kevin Friend (Erinsbrough) (Leicester)
Azpi called for a foul on Bernard on a Toffees counter about 25 yards from goal
Doing well . Thank you for asking. Glad to be in from the cool , drizzly weather. How are you and Kate?
I am back... it looks a lot warmer out there then it is... bloody freezing with the wind!
Morning MUR
Come on Rolos... well any kind of TOFFEE!!
Charlton tie it up at Jayne's house. Which Charlton, mate?
Good morning, UWS. Glad you're in the warm house.
Everton have started well here, but as we saw in the early one that's no guarantee of any success.
Nice rollos, reference. Haven't had one in years. Do they have a soft centre?
Donny Trump ties it up at 6th tier Chorley, according to Desmond
Wrexham go two up at Wweston Super Mare
Bernard shoots just wide from a Toffees corner.
Bernard has a go but is wide of the mark. He seems to have picked up a neck tattoo since I last saw him. Unwise, in my book.
Chelsea still recovering from a long EL trip?
Ten man Bristol Rovers tie it up at Barnet. That's not idle gossip.
Agreed. Bernard not acting like a Saint at all.
I just read a New York Times article about favorite candies from around the world. The U.S. got Red Vines, the West Coast version of Twizzlers, and the UK got Jelly Babies.
What was your favorite British confectionary. Mine was always Maynards Wine Gums. Still love em.
As things stand, there will be a baker's dozen Cup replays probably during the week of Thanksgiving.
Mine were Toblerone and Cadbury's creme eggs. Ate so many of each that I'm surprised I still have any teeth left
Fred says that Port Vale vs the Black Cats has just kicked off.
Fred says that the Black Cats have just taken the lead.
They sure didn't waste any time.
100 years
Interesting article...when you get a chance

Flakes
Cambridge were four down at Guiseley. Now trailing 4-2 with just minutes remaining
Free kick chance for Chelsea.... I don't think it was a foul... and it's a card
Will read that. Sounds like the time of year for flakes. Drizzle here.
That wasn't a foul
Kevin Friend has a big decision to make here. Looks like a yellow card Mina.
Given to the person , who scored the late equalizer against England
Now it is Guiseley 4 Cambridge THREE
Cheers, mate - I'll have a look at half-time.
t didn't look a foul. Hazard got the player booked. Poor sportsmanship.
Row Q please.... just wide...that'll do
Oh - Marcos Alonso drives the free kick just wide of the mark.
WOW! They were four down just a few minutes ago
Fleetwood Mac now lead 1-4 at Alfeton
FA Cup Final Score is on BBC 2
They are at the Cambridge game right now
Enough time for Cambridge to equalize?
Cute little ground... love it
Salford drew 1-1 at the Shrews and will host them in a replay.A great result
Useless shot by the Abbeymen.... ball actually landed in the parking lot
added time
Just down the road from Leeds.
43 positions below Cambridge
IT IS OVER
Guiseley hold on to beat Cambridge
It's over and Guiseley held on to defeat Cambridge 4-3
Mark Clement interviewing the Double Manger Ac on the pitch
The most humiliating result in Cambridge history?
This result along with Stockport's 1-3 win at Yeovil are the giant killings of the round
Jorginho lunges in on Siggy and picks up a yellow card.
Jorginho booked for a nasty challenge on Siggy. Far worse than the one on Jerry Mina. He was very Mina in comparison
Siggy still down. That sure was a nasty one.
A lovely bowl of homemade oatmeal has arrived at my side.
Michael Keane , showing what he learned at the MUFC Academy as he heads the free kick in to Row L
I bought Jacquelyn oatmeal yesterday. It's that time of year, chaps.
Now it's Kante with a nasty one - another yellow card. Has Sarri sent these guys out to kick Everton today?
Kante with his requite booking for a foul on Rich Arlison
It certainly, mate. It was bleedin' freezing out there when I went to feed the kitties.
Just made myself a couple of crumpets
I think they're just frustrated because they were expecting to dominate
Nice breakfast, UWS. I ate a pair of Wal-Mart donuts.
I'd love to see Everton get something out of this one.
Some good news if anyone is interested. Both England matches are on the telly.
Three Lions vs Yanks on the deuce Thursday at 3 PM
Three Lions vs Coratia on ESPN News at 9 AM next Sunday.
COR! That's good news.
With jam and butter, mate? Lovely!
Just butter... Every time we go to Trader Joe's we have to buys a package of crumpets
A foul by Marcos Alonso. A bit nasty, but looked like he went for the ball. Theo down
Thanks for the program note, mate - that's terrific news!
Great form with the brekkies.
I won't be here for that match... I will be either on my way or already in NYC to visit brother Mike. He is in NYC for the week
Nice save by Jordan
A foul from behind by Andre Gomes on Hazard. Not a s bad as it looked. Spectacular save by Pickford from Marcos Alonso off the free kick. Great volley
Hope Everton can keep it tight before half time... unlike Fulham
I won't be around for the U.S. vs Italy on the 20th because Elizabeth and I will be celebrating our Silver Anniversary
Oh - great volley by Alonso, well parried by Pickers.
Hope you have a great time at the Big Apple. Say hi to Mike from us.
What's Mike doing in NYC?
Morata goes down far too easily there - referee Friend is no friend to him.
The ref not going to be a Friend with the decisions. Not a penalty. If anything, Morata should be booked for diving.
He says he might have to work a couple days but just week in the Big Apple...hope I don't cramp his style
Fred says the Black Cats are two up at Port Vale.
Only the second time I will have seen him since 2007
We met up in Fort Lauderdale for a couple of hours last December
Have a marvelous time, mate. And say 'hi' for Steve and me.
A triplet of stoppage time minutes.
I think that was a foul by Willian....luckily Chelsea don't score from it
Will do
Double yellows
Both Bernard and Rudiger booked for their bit in that incident. Why? He didn't even see it . Did the linesman help him with that decision?
Now it's Bernard and Rudiger into the book after a nasty confrontation. Friend didn't see the incident but surely his assistants could guide him?
This has become a really bad-tempered affair.
Was it a headbutt? I don't think so but why the hell do players even contemplate butting someone
Modern Day Football... very few goal scoring opportunities... THAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THE SPORT isn't it?
Half time
It's 0-0 at the end of an ill tempered half.
And not before time, Kevin Friend blows up for half-time. Nasty encounter. They'll need to cool down tempers during the interval.
Vale get a goal back vs Sunderland
Thanks for the update. MUR misses a goal while in the bog?
Ross Barkley warming up at half-time. Chelsea could use his guile in the second half.
Second half underway from SB
Chelsea attack from the off . Great cross from Hazard and a superb save by Pickford off a volley from Morata
The closest either team has come to scoring
Chelsea with an enhanced sense of purpose at the start of this half. And no wonder - a win today would take them top.
It's now halftime in the cup match between Vale and the Black Cats
Correct, Bob. That's pending the result of the Manc Derby
Oh - Theo was running onto a great ball there but his touch let him down.
Fred says I missed a goal while in the bog.
Oh - Hazard got to the by-line and whipped a ball across the area. Where was Morata?
Nice one two between Hazard and Willian, but the final pass from Hazard was anything but.
Not this time, mate. No Goldstein Curse.
Willian down because a Toffees player was Digne into his ankles.
I was talking about the one that Vale scored against the Black Cats, LOL! Fred still dreaming about that match
Oh - great shot by Siggy, tipped over in the end.
OH!!! ! Siggy had a long range effort tipped over by the Chelsea Kepa. His first save of the match
Pogba not in the squad for the Manc Derby! WOW! Wonder why
That's a better shout for a penalty. Mina wasn't playing the ball at all there and seemed to haul down Morata.
The Toffees got away with some poor judgement. Pickford caught out of position, but Willian's touch took him out of position
I'm back after some errands and making our power shake
Morata dove there
POGBA NOT IN THE SQUAD!
That does seem crazy. Maybe he's injured?
Big chance for Everton... bad control
Then Bernard let down with a poor touch off a great cross from Siggy
Both teams really going for it - this last half hour should be fascinating.
Then Willian shoots inches wide after being put through
BREAKING
Breaking team news
Man City v Man Utd & Arsenal v Wolves (16:30 GMT)
Paul Pogba is not included in the Manchester United squad, while Romelu Lukaku has to settle for a place on the bench.
Riyad Mahrez is handed another start for Manchester City and there are two changes to Pep Guardiola's side from their Champions League win.
There's one change in the Arsenal side from the one that drew with Liverpool last week. Henrikh Mkhitaryan drop out as Alex Iwobi returns to the starting XI.
Wolves name the same XI who lost 3-2 to Tottenham.
Perhaps Pogba forgot to have one of those world class power shake's . How are they?
Great updates, UWS
Don't like United's line up
De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindeloff, Shaw, Herrera, Matic, Fellaini, Lingard, Martial and Rashford
United's middies are all holding mids
Jorginho is a water carrier. He was never Gana score from that distance as his shot was easily blocked.
Pickford does well to turn around a deflected effort from Hazard
Jose going out not to lose....AGAIN
I had a feeling Jose would pick this type of lineup. Can we trade him in a Trader Joe's
Chelsea better not get a late winner!
