A Tale of Two Uniteds
Morning, chaps! We've got some super football on tap for this Sunday morning. It's bookended by our two favorite Uniteds, both of whom had fairly disastrous Easter period, trying to reclaim our seasons. My beloved Leeds are up first. We've just about been eliminated from consideration for automatic promotion at this point, so the priority this morning is to try to rebuild our confidence as we head into the playoff campaign. A win against a presumptive playoff rival Aston Villa would do us a power of good.
At the end of the day, it's Man Utd trying to take advantage of some slip-ups by their Top Four rivals to reclaim a spot for the Champions League next season. A win against one of those rivals Chelsea would be a tonic.
Between those two are Citeh and Arsenal. It's a big, big day. Join me, eh?

Teams out on the pitch at Elland Road now. Here is the Leeds starting XI:
Casilla, Dallas, Cooper, Jansson, Ayling, Phillips, Klich, Forshaw, Harrison, Hernandez, Bamford
Two changes to our side then. Stu Dallas has replaced the injured Gianna Alioski. And Kal Phillips has come in for Tyler Roberts who has been dropped after a number of disappointing performances.
Villa have been on a scorching run of ten consecutive victories, whilst we've had a stuttering end to the season. We'll need to stop the rot today. MOT!
Bright start from Villa with Al Ghazi marching down the left wing and firing a cross in.
And another dangerous cross in - we're really under the cosh early doors.
Really scrappy start from us; we're finding it hard to get out of our own half.
Big shout for a Villa penalty. Waved off. Phew!
Still not threading a series of passes together successfully.
That was a bit more promising. Pablo has a shooting chance but is blocked off.
Good hold up play from Patrick - we're finding finding our way into this match.
Oh - Harrison had a chance at the back post but fluffed it. Big chance.
Villa fans enjoying an early Joy Division sing-song. That seems to be an opposition fan favorite these days. I hope we can stuff that back down their throats.
Decent free kick chance now - we can bring the big boys up from the back.
Decent pop from distance by Klich. Over the bar, though.
Great move there results in Harrison winning a corner for us. Better!
The corner is cleared and Pablo picks up a yellow card for a cynical trip.
Oh - nice ball through to Klich but his cross only found the keeper.
Klich shields a ball for a corner now. Come on!
Oh - good cross from Pablo finds Patrick at the near post. Nearly connected with the header.
Oh - nice idea there. A long ball to Patrick is flicked on but no one was arriving. That's why we need a second striker to support him.
What was that? The referee books Liam Cooper for what looked like a really good tackle.
Grealish is still complaining for some reason. I don't know what he thinking. He just plain lost the tackle there.
Half way through the first half, and after that initial flurry of Villa pressure, we've been able to contain them for the most part. They're a dangerous side but we've had the better of things so far.
Ayling somehow reached that long ball and won a corner. This is the one, boys!
We're playing reasonably well but we need more bite up front to take advantage of these chances.
Greaslish is being booed at every touch now for trying to get Liam into trouble with the ref.
McGinn goes over at the slightest touch from Kal but nothing doing.
Oh - Forshaw with a decent pop there at the end of a good move.
Oh - great save from Kiko there from McGinn's header!
Morning Bob
Sorry for the late start from me here
Still goalless in both matches going on
Villa just starting to look dangerous again after about 20 minutes of being contained well.
Morning, UWS - how are you, mate?
Leeds do need to get some points in their last two games. They are only just above WBA by two points
Of course I am inconsolable...I have to go back to work tomorrow
LOL! You'll be alright, mate.
Decent save by Baby Schmeichel
Oh - Pablo had a shooting chance there but dragged his shot well wide of the mark.
I read some of you comments to start about Leeds being under the cosh. Has it improved
Arsenal are down to ten men!!
A second yellow for Niles
Pontus gives us a stupid foul and Villa can swing a free kick in now.
Mines heads wide from a Grealish free kick.
United need to win and have Arsenal drop some points
We actually need to beat Chelsea by four to go above them ore have Chelsea drop points in the last two games
Grealish goes all floppy again and cons the ref into giving him yet another free kick.
Will Brendan win the title for Liverpool....that would be crazy
Now Klich is penalized. Marcelo's not happy with these refereeing decisions.
Arsenal down to ten men will not help them in their EL campaign
I hope Arsenal and Chelsea get to the Final... to keep them busy
Final warning now for Kal after Grealish goes over again.
Leeds are bit dirty today from what I've see so far
Ironic applause now as we actually get a free kick for a change.
Stu Dallas launches one well over the bar.
United need Arsenal to lose or drop more points at home to Brighton or away at Burnley.... could happen at Turf Moor
Just lose today! Sorry Steve
Oh - that was a dangerous break for Villa. Broken up, fortunately.
Grealish falls over once again. Really poor form from him.
That looked like a foul to me. Why are they complaining so much
After the replay, did you think it was a foul?
The bucket boss gets a card
Fortunately, Kiko gathers the free kick and we're breaking again.
Marcelo picked up a silly yellow card for dissent before the Villa free kick. He's back on his blue bucket.
I am stil upstairs.
I'll make the move at half time of both
It is half time at the King Power
0-0 but Arsenal down a man
Not good by Bamford!
Lame effort there from Patrick as the clocks winds down to half time.
So Leeds have played quite well
Useless pass by Bamford!
Half time
Why would the ref blow up there as we were attacking?! Really poor from Stuart Attwell. What was he thinking?
We have been playing well but quite hindered by the ref.
Everyone is ticked off with the ref
He blew the whistle as Leeds attacked
Has he been useless?
I haven't seen it since I've been watching
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Up for the second half. Saw the halftime highlights . Sending off was really harsh
Morning David
They are back at the King Power but not at Elland Road
We are off in Leicester
Second half underway from the KP
I was in the kitchen getting coffee and heard that each side made a halftime substitution.
Harvey Barnes goes on a run down the left and wins a corner off the former captain of the philosopher's side.
Leeds are making a couple of changes at half time
Poor Foxes corner that I missed but read that it was headed away by the first man while reading La Cazette.
Second half underway at ER. Also 0-0.
We are off at Elland Road
There is no real difference of finishing 3rd or 4th...except for having to take on Villa or Derby/Boro
Decent start from Leeds
Back on for the second half now; I'm hoping that we can build on a promising first half performance.
IS this a dress rehearsal for the playoff Final?
Two early corners to start the second half.
Leeds fans want a handball but get a corner
Arm was up but did go off the head
Could easily have been a penalty there!
Ayling with a shot off of Neil Taylor for a corner. Corner cleared and Taylor heads out for another corner.
Great pressure from us now.
Villa can't clear their lines
London Marathon today
Decent effort....hit the target tho
Oh - Forshaw was a whisker away from opening the scoring! Come on!
Curing in the streets of Alex and Fred Town?
OH! Inches wide by Adam Forshaw. Really unlucky
Yet another Grealish flop now. What a cheating little twat he is.
Grealish down again.
Foul
Jack Grealish, the target of the boo boys, wins a free kick on Villa's first attack of the half.
Free kick from Grealish over and Leeds fans cheer as if a goal was scored.
They are whacking him
Bamford is like Lukaku!!!
Not a good thing
Phew...just over the bar
Should have buried it
Phew! Kodja puts one over the top from ten yards out!
Nice intricate football, but the pass from Tyler Roberts was off.
Kodja, the artful Dodja, blasts over off a pass from El Mohammedy
Roberts with a shot...blocked
Should have done better
Leeds really need to get a win... just for the mind!
And for the 13-0 win next week at Portman Road
Close range effort from Tyler Roberts blocked
Morning, MUR! I didn't see you come on there because of the silly question marks. Great to have you on board!
GOAL
Leicester take the lead
GOAL !!TIELEMANS GIVES THE FOXES THE LEAD
Oh - Pablo just over the top there. Leaned back when he struck it.
OH! Just over by Hernandez off a pass from Ayling
Wow - good one for you lot. Sorry for Gooner's lot.
Good morning, Bob.Hoping and extra LOBER is enough to get Leeds that vital win
So, Leicester are doing their job for United
Now United have to do their job for United
SO.....United win by four goals today and they will be in fourth! They are eight behind in the GD column to Chelsea. A four goal swing would bring Chelsea down four and United up four. United have scored more!
Of course, United have been outscored NINE NIL in the last three games!
Every find out about the ?s
The Gooner will not be pleased with the defending for the goal. A long clearance from Mustafi was collected at the halfway line. Several passes later, a cross from the Fourth President was headed in at the near post by Tielemans
Forshaw fell awkwardly there and seems to be in trouble now Might have to come off.
It must be tough having a translator.... learn the language mate!
Bielsa is letting Tyler know exactly what he wants from him.
Bielsa not happy with Tyler Roberts. neither is Bob
Well Bielsa isn't ...the translator is
Looks like Forshaw will try to continue for the moment.
Bielsa got a card at Elland Road...now Em is for Arsenal
Klich picks up a silly yellow card for dissent.
Agreed, UWS. It's important to me an attempt to learn the language of a country if you plan to stay there long term
Another yellow for a Leeds man
Don't get a silly red and be out of the playoff matches
Finally we win a free kick in a dangerous area.
Oliver Twist not a fan of Emmery Boards as he's lectured by the ref
Should Villa have had a penalty. Did Berardi trip Kodja?
This has gotten really ill-tempered now because the ref has lost control.
Nope.
Ref calls a foul off a Leeds corner. Minimal contact by Pontus on Tyrone Mings. No wonder why Bob is furious
Ball had gone out - ref didn't see it.
Kiko has to tip over just for safety's sake. Another Villa corner now.
Fortunately, it's a useless short corner routine. Villa making a change now.
Casilla forced to tip over a miss hit cross from Andre Green.
Chilly booked for a cynical foul on Socrates, on loan from the Pythons philosopher team
Green being replaced now by Adomah.
MOT!
Albert Adomah on for Andre Green.
It's Leeds time!
Leeds fans sing MOT in full volume.
MOT, MATE!
Just wide by Tielemans
Would Bob consider a draw a decent result. A win would solidify third place ahead of the Baggies.
Phew...Leeds survive another chance... So do Arsenal
Phew - great block by Pontus there as Villa threatened.
Neil Taylor has a shot blocked by Pontus for a Villa corner
This period is making me nervous!
Tielemans nearly scores a second . Long range effort just wide.
A draw would mean that avoiding defeat at Portman Road would clinch third
WBA visit Derby.... who will need to win to make the playoffs
Nice save by Jay Leno from Harvey Barnes
GOAL! Klich takes advantage and scores!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!
LEEDS SCORE!!!
Villa are compelling about the ball being put out!
What the hell happened!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! KLICH GIVES VILLA THE LEAD
What on earth are Villa so angry about?!
Disgraceful stuff from Villa - they should be banned from the playoffs!
Now there is fights going on all over the place
Stewards having to come out and separate the players
What is going on!
No team should have to kick the ball out!
Not sure why Dean Smith is lecturing Pontus. Hate when Managers lectures opposing players. Stewards breaking up a fight .
Looks like linesman is talking about some elbow used
Ref is going to do something... Red Card to El Ghazzi of Villa!
Leeds were not obligated to kick the ball out of play . Stuart Atwell waved play on , so it should be a valid goal
El Ghazi is off! Villa down to ten men!
Ridiculous behavior - there was no reason for us to kick it out of play when we had the advantage.
Bamford has been booked as well!
El Gazi sent off for Villa.Villa should have several sending offs for starting a fight, Hourihane and Bamford booked.
Another yellow for a Villa man
And for Bamford
LEEDS STILL GOT THE GOAL!
Do you know what happened.
Leeds absolutely had the right to play on
Pathetic by Villa... it wasn't a foul... play on
Play still hasn't started.... going to have mega time added
JT calming down Villa players. Why isn't Dean Smith doing that?
Bloody hell
Leeds allow Villa to score!!
This is ridiculous !!!
What on earth?! The message went out from Bielsa to allow Villa to score. Stupid!
This is ridiculous!!
I don't believe it!
Why is Terry still complaining
Leeds players allow Villa to score. Now 1-1. Disagree with that
This bloke on the mic needs to shut up!!
There was nothing wrong with that goal
Agreed, Bob. Villa would have done the same as Leeds
This guy on the mic is a Villa fan!
These guys need to be more neutral!
A defensive move by Villa Jedinak for Kodja
McGinn picks up a yellow now.
The replay shows the sending off was the correct decision. Villa would never win an appeal.
Could have been red for McGinn . Really poor challenge
We've still got 10 minutes now to win this one again.
Dean Smith's second visit to Er this season. It was 1-1 when he was in charge of the Bees, a much lower key affair
Oh - Tyler danced through the area and laid one on a plate for Patrick. Only needed a touch.
TWO NIL Leicester
Great goal kick by Schmeichel and Vardy runs in. Lobs the ball off the bar but nets the rebound
NOTHING WRONG IS WITH A LONG BALL ONCE IN A WHILE
The announcer is a moron. Not sue why he thinks the red card would be rescinded. Obviously the correct decision.
Bad news for Steve
Great news for the two wise Davids
GOAL !!!! FOXES TWO UP. VARDY WITH A FARCICAL GOAL SIMILAR TO THE ONE IN THE MERSEY DERBY
37,700+ at ER
Well done
Not farcical in my book
It was a lovely lob off the bar and he netted the rebound
The Gooner will be furious. Long free kick from Kasper and ball watching from the Gooner. Vardy chipped Jay Leno , it came off the bar and he headed into an empty goal.
Vardy was alive to the rebound
36, 786 at Elland Road. Fantastic. They deserve Premier League football next season.
Oh - Tyler tries to find Patrick again - just too high.
Agreed, UWS, but as a former defender, thought the defending was due to the ball watching. Gunners back four caught out
Would Leeds have given that goal back if it meant going up
I STILL DON'T THINK ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE GOAL!!
Wonder if Bob thinks any players from either side will face retrospective action.
Oh - Ayling got on to that cross but he just couldn't get over it.
Into a Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes at the KP
I agree, mate. You can talk about the ethics of playing on but there was nothing wrong with playing on in that situation, given the letter of the law.
Wonder if the result at the KP would have been different if it was 11 vs 11.
Oh - Tyler has an effort that curls just wide!
Mings and Steer clashed there as they tried to save that effort.
OH!! Nice cross from Tyler Roberts and Bamford couldn't quite connect
Grealish is booed off by the Elland Road faithful now.
As it stands
Leeds 83 +24
WBA 80 _27
Villa 76 +22
Derby 70+13....extra game to play
Boro 70 +7
Bristol C 66 +5...extra game to play
Boos for Grealish , the pantomime villain as he's replaced by Glenn Whelan
7 added minutes to ER
Seven minutes to be added on now - wow!
