Another Season Coming to an End
So, we started all of this way back in August and we have come down to the last day. Almost everything has been sorted all ready! Top Four...done, bottom three... done. Just the small matter of the title! NBC saying it is the best finish in a generation. I disagree. There have been plenty of exciting finishes in the Premier League era. Blackburn/United in '95, United/Arsenal in '99 and City/United in '12. I don't think there is any possibility of City dropping points at Brighton. It could be over in the first 15 minutes!
Join me on this Mother's Day

NBC showing the amazing comebacks in the Champions League midweek.
What an amazing couple of days!
Congratulations to Liverpool and Spurs!
Congratulations to Arsenal and Chelsea for making the EL Final as well. Two clubs, grounds 8 miles apart, have to travel 2800+ miles for the Final!!
The European Super Cup... England v England.... in Istanbul!!
City could win the domestic treble(+ the Charity Shield)
Liverpool could win title and in the European Cup Final
Spurs in the European Cup Final
Chelsea in the Europa League Final
Arsenal in the Europa League Final
United can't beat Huddersfield
Two all English Finals
Only ever happened twice before
1972 UEFA Cup Final (Spurs v Wolves)
2008 European Cup Final(Man U v Chelsea)
First time ever all four finalist in both Finals
The "best team"...isn't one of them
Such a shame that United have blown it over the last few weeks. Usually top four spots are still open!
Shame the bottom three are all done and dusted too
What makes the season end great is there are dramatics at both ends...not this season
Kinda boring
Of course, Bob could jump from worst to first!!
Is there anyway I can catch MUR?
Rangers two up in the Old Firm Derby
Good morning, Dave. Great to join you for the conclusion of yet another Premier League season
Happy Mothers's Day to all the mothers out there.
I think the PPP race is wide open. Beside the Prem, there's GBB, the FA Cup ,and EL that will decide the PPP. The Gooner is the only that picked Liverpool to win the CL.
Morning MUR
Rangers have beaten Celtic 2-0
But Celtic still going to win the treble!
I have no idea how I am going to watching today
Am I going to watch United?
Liverpool?
City?
Morning, boys - how are you on this last day of the season. Thanks to UWS for getting us going this morning.
Mr Forgotten Mahrez starts for City
Is that Pep being arrogant again?
I just wish he'd bugger off to Juve
Doncaster get a goal in the 87th minute at home to Charlton but still lose 1-2 to Charlton
Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Zinchenko, Gundogan, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Sterling, Aguero.
Subs: Muric, Danilo, Stones, De Bruyne, Sane, Otamendi, Jesus.
Liverpool XI
Alisson, Mate, van Dijk, Alex-Arn, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Origi
Man Utd starting XI: De Gea, Jones, Pogba, Rashford, Smalling, Lingard, Pereira, Young, Dalot, McTominay, Greenwood
Subs: Romero, Mata, Martial, Fred, Valencia, Garner, Gomes
I've been looking at the PPP standings in order to answer your question, UWS. First, the PFA Awards were announced this week and it's a bit of a damp squib for us. None of us predicted that Virgil van Dyck or Raheem Sterling would win. Most of us thought that the likes of KDB and Phil Foden would win. No points for us.
Hazard only on the bench! What's the point? It could be his last game in this country. What does he have to rest for?
Can't believe Chelsea have sewn up Top Four
There could a difference between finishing 5th and 6th
I think if Watford win the Cup, then 6th would have to go into a qualifying round of the EL....mid summer!
Glad to see Greenwood starting
Don't like Smalling, Young and Jones all starting!
United do have 7 of 11 British players starting
Crazy that during a Stanley Cup playoff game, they had a plug for the end of the Premier League... Can City retain their title? Can Liverpool win it for the FIRST TIME IN THEIR HISTORY!
WHAT ABOUT THE 18 TITLES!!!!
So, I'm assuming that today will go to form and that City and Liverpool will both win and City will claim the title. MUR has a slim lead but can be caught. Both of you are out of the FA Cup and the Champions League and both have Arsenal to win the Europa.
However, UWS has both Leeds and Villa to be promoted, while MUR has Leeds but no one else. So, if Villa were to be promoted, UWS could top him.
I do fear a Liverpool resurgence in title wins
1964 Liverpool win their 6th title
1965 United win their 6th title
1966 Liverpool win their 7th title
1967 United win their 7th title
1990 Liverpool win their 18th title
2013 United win their 20th title
Liverpool's turn?
Oh dear... I want Leeds to go up!
I would prefer for Leeds to go up and I lose the title
Just a reminder...not sure what I am going to do
Liverpool vs Wolves NBC
Bright vs Man City NBCSN
Man U v Cardiff USA
Leicester v Chelsea CNBC
Spurs v Everton SyFy
Burnley v Arsenal MSNBC
Watford v West Ham Golf Channel(I don't get)
Fulham v Newcastle Olympic Channel(???)
Palace v Bournemouth NBC Sports Regional Networks(?)
Southampton v Huddersfield NBCSports.com
I guess United need a win and Arsenal draw to finish in fifth
Great vid going around
Leeds fans at Derby today 😂
“All of the spies are hidden away
Just try not to worry
You’ll beat us some day
We beat you at home
We beat you away
Stop crying frank Lampard” 🎶🎶🎵 #LUFC
Back from walkies. Good morning, Bob and Dave. Will be watching Citeh and Pool on the PIP with probably Spurs vs the Toffees and United on the computers. On the phone?
Pep has banned all his staff to find out the score at Anfield today
Here they go again about City being the greatest team of all
They have mega points but I don't think there are enough good teams in the league
The last two seasons, the top six haven't been that good
Other teams are worse than before too
Pool could win , finish second and be in the top five for most points in top flight history
Jayne Mansfield vs Newport on Plus today. Will Jayne be smoking Newport today?
The media keep talking about the lead changing hands so many times
That is false
It is only because they were playing at different times
City have won 14 straight league games.... how can the lead change so many times
Cheers, UWS - I appreciate the loyalty.
I'm switching over to NBC to watch Liverpool v. Wolves.
Got the Brighton v. Citeh match on the PIP now.
Matches underway
I've got those two on.
We're away on the last day of the season. Let's have some fun, lads!
We are off
So wish Top Four was still up for grabs
Perriera hits one just wide
Deflected
Origi, the hero of the past two matches with the first shot on target - comfortable save for Rui Patricio.
Got United vs Cardiff on the phone, waiting for Spurs vs Toffees to load on the computer, Elizabeth's computer didn't accept my login credentials.
Yeah - I wish there was still a relegation battle and a battle for the top four today.
Eric Dier has scored the first goal of the day - for Spurs against Everton.
I've got the City match on the Telly, Liverpool in PIP
United on computer
Lee Greenwood nearly gave United the lead. Corner headed out then he headed just over from the return cross.
I want Spurs to finish above Chelsea
It is deserved
Brighton have started well
He must have scored second before the match finished loading
Of course, United ARE NOT on top at OT
Agreed. They look really flat
Decent Seagulls effort. Not too far wide from their Persian striker
I now have the Spurs match on my phone
Decent hit there from Glenn Murray. That would have put the cat amongst the pigeons if it had flown in.
Why don't they want to go out and entertain in the last match
Shelvey gives the Toon the lead at Bob and Kate's
OH!!!! Pickford with a superb close range save from Cissy. Great reflexes
Toon two up at Bob and Kate's . Bob being too nice, LOL!
United break....Greenwood has a header saved
Close range header from Greenwood saved by Etheridge . Should have scored. Nice lob bed pass from Perriera,.
What can United do over the summer?
They won't be able attract the best players because of no CL
FotMob being really annoying.... getting updates that games have started......over and over again
I'm always a generous host, mate.
Delle Alli just over from just outside the box. Spurs walking all over the Toffees
Ayoze with that second Toon goal
I'm sure there was plenty for Raffa to eat. Doubt he ever skips a meal
I thought City would have taken the lead by now
They haven't been the greatest of all time
The last five games or so...they've won 1-0...not playing well
Rash straight at Etheridge. United now starting to attack
Liverpool take the lead
Mane
GOAL! Mane puts Liverpool into the lead and the Reds are top of the heap!
GOAL !!!MANE OH MANE! POOL TAKE THE LEAD.
Are the media going to call this another lead change in the league
BOB VAULTS TO THE TOP
Mark Noble gives the Hammers the lead at VR
Fifteen assists for Terrence Trent Darby this season - what a great record.
It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming - the LOB Shield is coming home!
West Ham take the lead against the other Cup Finalist
Bob for The Double ...and Leeds to be promoted!
THE FULL MONTY
It started with a throw from Allison to a Pool defender. Several p[asses later , Mane played it wide right to TAA . Hhe played a one two with Hendo then his pass was diverted in by Mane , wrong footing Rui Patricio
Kate is not happy to hear about Liverpool having taken the lead. I don't know why the wives aren't more excited about having the LOB Shield in the house. It's a lovely piece. ;-)
The full Monty was in 1973 ?
Patheticness by Pogpants again
Penalty to Cardiff City
Dalot with the foul
Never a pen... swing and miss and Dalot got all ball
One nil Cardiff
Sums up United to a tee
This is embarrassing
BUGGER! MENDEZ-LANG GIVES CARDIFF THE LEAD AT OT FROM THE SPOT. DALOt CAlled for A TRIP ON MENDEZ-LANG
Cardiff last win at OT
1954
Greenwood goes close again
Olly had a short , disasterous spell in charge of Cardiff and they are chanting that he'll be sacked in the morning
The n he saves well from Lindy
I like the way Greenwood plays
OMG
BRIGHTON TAKE THE LEAD!
Down to three matches. My computer sucks.
Anfield going nuts
GOLA !!SEAGULLS TAKE THE LEAD. TITLE HEADED TO ANFIELD?
I remember the days where you had to wait until half time to get updates with letters posted
CITY TIE IT UP
Of course Arlo is going gaga about City...even when he's at Anfield
"What a response by City"
They scored...that's it
Useless free kick by Young
GOAL !!! WHAT DRAMA ! AGUERO TIES IT UP STRAIGHT FROM THE KICKOFF . sTERLING TO LAPORTE, AND HIS PASS FOUND AGUERO, WHO NUTMEGGED MATTY RYAN
United would have to start on July 25th if they finish 6th and Watford win the Cup....THERE IS SOMETHING TO PLAY FOR
Wow - I was just having a chat with my mother in law who called while Katie was in the bathroom. And I missed those two goals on the South Coast. Wow!
Bat Boy gives Palace the lead vs the Cherries
Liverpool still on top of the lot
It seems as if half the crowd are paying more attention to the Brighton v. City match instead of the one that's in front of them.
Nice save by Lloris
It's all on the line now; I'm 60 minutes away from reclaiming the Shield.
Seagulls goal from TWO set pieces. Long throw headed away then a shot blocked for a corner. Nice near post corner and Glenn Murray out jumped Ederson to head in
Dave, you should tell the United players because they have not received the message
Palace two up vs the Cherries
Are Mane and Aguero both just behind Salah? Would that change things?
Close range volley from Salah deflected off of Boli
Back to four matches
Pogpants makes a run...weak effort
If Citeh win the title , it may come down to GBB
Bat Boy with both Palace goals.
AND CITY GO ON TOP
GOAL !!!LAP PORTE HEADS IN A CORNER. NOW 1-2 CITEH
Arlo going nuts again
I REALLY REALLY DISLIKE HIM
Bugger! LaPorte has scored against Brighton and the Anfield crowd goes a bit quiet.
From to to bottom again - feeling a bit seasick.
Greenwood should have used his other foot with another chance
Superb curling corner from Mahrez.
Into the side netting from Greenwood.,
BOOM BOOM! Where will you vomit. At La Porte in Brighton
Palace three up vs the Cherries
De Gea tips over shot from one of the Murphy twins
Saints in the lead vs the Terriers
Is that LaPort a Potty?
Palace goal an G from Cherries academy , grad, Josh Simpson
Not a good way to prepare for the Cup Final - Watford are 0-2 down to the Hammers.
26 years without a title for United
Liverpool.....30 and counting?
You might think he is for giving Citeh the lead.He could very well be.
Palace three up vs the Cherries
Oh my - Doherty nearly equalizes - off the bar!
saints goal from Nathan redmond
Every other team has done their best to give United hope and they just keep blowing it...I JUST HATE IT
Lanzini puts the Hammers two up at VR
Dalot does well to win the ball in the box and then an atrocious cross... to no one
Free kick chance for the Seagulls
Brighton have a free kick right at the end of this half. I've switched over to watch it fly in hopefully.
Southampton take the lead vs Huddersfield
Oh - great shot but tipped over by Ederson.
oooh.... almost in by Brighton
Last kick of the half
Seagulls free kick dunked over by Ederson
United down at half...just pathetic
As things stand, the Prem title headed to Anfield
Sorry. Headed to Citeh
Bournemouth get a goal back but still trail 1-3 at Selhurst
Cherries score at Selhurst Park, but trail 3-1
Jefferson Lerma with that Cherries goal
Second half about to begin with the title still up for grabs
We are off for the second half all around the country
Do United players have ANY pride
I've switched my PIP on to the Brighton v. City match for the second half, as that seems to be the one with the most action now. Liverpool are in cruise control at Anfield.
Martial has come on for someone
Deicided to replace spurs vs Everton with Palace vs Cherries. Not successful so far
Come on, you Red Devils - turn it around!
Martial replaced Jones!
Watford have got one back through Deulofeu.
Hoelbas with red card for Watford
Is he out of the Cup Final?
Martial goes down...no foul... stay on your feet and try and score
Back to Spurs vs Toffees . Lacked an update for the one from Selhurst
Wow! Jose Holebas has been sent off at Vicarage Road and will miss the Cup Final now.
Too much passing by United...SHOOT
I don't think he is. Think he will miss the start of the Prem season. New rule that the suspension is only for the competition in which the red card occurred.
So why have United players turned on OGS all of a sudden. When he took over, it was all hearts and flowers and the good feeling was back at OT. What heaped? I hate "Player Power."
I thought I read that the rules had changed
The Guardian reported that Holebas will miss the Final but they may be wrong.
UNITED FALL BEHIND BY TWO
BLOODY HELL ! CARDIFF TWO UP
Should that have been an indirect free kick for Ederson catching that backpass? I thought so.
Aubum gives Arsenal the lead...I need him to now score a hat-trick or so
Bournemouth make it 3-2
Miss kick a case of McTomain poisoning as one of the Murphy twins lad it on PLATE FOR mENDEZ- lANG FOR AN EASY FAR POST TAP IN
Good save by Cardiff keeper from a Rashford header
Switched the match on the computer to the one from VR
Superb reflex save by Etheridge from a Rash header
Only one goal between Salah on 22, and Aubameyang, Aguero and Mane on 21.
Sacked in the morning . Cardiff fans correct about their former boss?
Sorry, chaps - this is dispiriting for an end of season home match against a relegated side.
Can you imagine OGS getting the shove in the summer? Surely not!
Gunnarsson ends his eight year Cardiff career as he's replaced by Jazz Richards. Headed off to Qatar.
Terriers tie it up at St. Mary's
He could be sacked. We';ve been bloody awful
Andre Gray on for Deulofeu.
Palace have taken a 3-2 lead over the Cherries through Jordan Ibe.
stupid by Pogba on one of the Murphy twins. Both booked.
Don't forget last week against the very bottom club
I know - but I'd sack some of the players first. I get the sense that Pogba is the poisonous one in the dressing room. He's got to go. You'd get good money for him and all.
Toon three up at Bob and Kate's. Raffa loves the food at Bob and Kate's
As it stands
City
Liverpool
Spurs
Chelsea
Arsenal
Man U
Origi blasts over from close range
GOAL
TITLE FOR CITY
Mahrez with a great goal
Agreed. United desperately need to rebuild. Lots of players needed top have left ages ago
Bugger! Mahrez has scored a third for City. That's got to be it.
Anfield Library
Cardiff go close again
