The Championship Wraps Up
The Championship season comes to its conclusion this morning, with a few things still to sort out. Norwich and Sheffield United have been promoted but will still battle it out for the top spot today. Three sides are still in the race for the last playoff spot - Derby, Boro and Bristol City. The winner will meet Leeds next weekend in the first playoff semi final leg.
I'm hoping that my beloved Leeds will wrap up the regular season with a morale-boosting win away to hapless Ipswich Town, who were relegated back in October. 0-6 would be lovely. The bad news is that our replacement striker Patrick Bamford has been suspended for two matches; the good news is that our top goalscorer Kemar Roofe is back! Let's do this! Come on, you Leeds! #MOT!

ESPN + are favoring us with the Norwich v. Villa and Derby v. WBA matches this morning. Sadly, no coverage of the Leeds boys. I'll be opting for the latter. Coverage is about start.
So here are the stakes today:
Norwich need a point at Villa to become champions. If they lose, a win for Sheffield United at Stoke will see them take the trophy.
Leeds, West Brom and Villa are already ensconced in the playoff places. Derby will join them should they beat West Brom, but if not, Boro are there with a win at relegated Rotherham, and should both lose or draw, Bristol City can sort it out by beating Hull at the KC.
The teams gathering in the tunnel now at Portman Road:
Ipswich: Bialkowski, Kenlock, Nsiala, Chambers, Bree, Chalobah, Skuse, Downes, Judge, Quaner, Dozzell. Subs: Gerken, Jackson, Harrison, Elder, Emmanuel, Mizouni, Brown.
Leeds: Casilla, Dallas, Cooper, Jansson, Ayling, Phillips, Klich, Forshaw, Harrison, Hernandez, Roofe. Subs: Peacock-Farrell, Berardi, Edmondson, Shackleton, Clarke, Gotts, Bogusz.
And we're away at Pride Park in the televised match.
I want Leeds goals at PR today - come on!
Nice from Derby. Wilson finds Holmes charging down the right, but his low cross is behind all his mates and Bartley kicks clear.
Norwich have taken an early lead to seal their claim on the top spot.
Oh - big chance there for the Baggies. Missed it wide right.
Lawrence pulls a good save out of Johnstone in the WBA goal. Out for a corner.
Villa have equalized at Villa Park. 1-1 there.
On the recent form, I'm happy to be missing out on Villa for the playoff semi. Derby would be my choice of opponent, as we battered them twice in the regular season.
Former Leeds man Kyle Bartley picks up a yellow. I miss seeing him in the backline for us.
Morning Boys
Leeds don't just need a moral boosting win....they need a point to finish third
If Leeds lose and WBA win then WBA would be on top on GD and Villa would be your opponents
"One way traffic at Portman Road. All Leeds"
Stoke take the lead vs Evil Blades
A mistake at the back allows Ipswich in, Alan Judge finds Flynn Downes in the box, but his shot is well blocked by Jansson. Phew!
Derby 1 WBA 0.... good news for Leeds
GOAL! Waghorn nods Derby into the lead.
Morning, UWS - how are you, mate!
Good morning Bob and Dave. Here to join you for a big day of football
I'm looking forward to United's goalfesst against Cruddersfield.
Congratulations, Bob. A Baggies loss would clinch third place for Leeds.
Morning, MUR - how's your weekend going?
We're knocking on the door at Portman Road. Pablo just fired a shot wide.
Sheffield United are 1-0 down at Stoke through a Sam Vokes goal. He's another former Leeds man. I thought he was still at Burnley, honestly.
Having trouble with watch ESPN on both computers, so I will follow text updates.
Blackburn have taken the lead through Lenehan against Swansea in a dead rubber match.
Sorry to hear that, mate.
I think he left during the January transfer window. Was part of the Crouch deal
Villa reserves all over the would be champs
Leeds really could have been right in this... boy did they blow it
Forest take the lead
Big chances at both ends at PR
So, United beat Cruddersfield 10-0, Chelsea and Arsenal lose....great day!
Well.. will United win?
Got the match from pride Park, but it's on the older computer that sometimes buffers.
Yes, we did, but I'm concentrated on the playoffs now.
Also cheering for a Salford win vs Eastleigh
Bolton in trouble of going into administration...the Brentford match was awarded a 1-0 for the Bees
The will have a big point reduction next season....they will be relegated again!
They just survived the drop last season.... it would have been better for them to have gone down
Boro take the lead after playing like crap
Goals flying in now in the Championship:
Lolley has given Forest the lead over hapless Bolton.
And Scowen has given QPR the lead over Not a Big Club.
BLOODY HELL !!! TRACTOR BOYS TAKE THE LEAD! Sorry, Bob
Assombalonga earned the penalty for Boro.
Bloody hell
Ipswich take the lead
Curses! That's not what the doctor ordered. Grrrr!
Sorry for not answering. A pretty quiet weekend. Just waiting for the school year to end. How have you been , Bob and Dave?
Sanchez STARTS for United!
Norwich fans singing...
Leeds falling apart again
Flynn Downes with the Ipswich goal. Bob wishes it was Brian Flynn scoring for Leeds instead and that would stop giving you the Downes.
My fear is that, should we not go up this year, Marcelo will be lured away by some other side. West Ham have apparently been sniffing around.
United's line up
De Gea
Young
Jones
Lindeloff
Shaw
McTom
Matic
Pogba
Mata
Rashford
Sanchez
Surprised that Bolton is playing. Heard that the players were supposed to be on strike the rest of the season over unpaid wages
Since when did that old Joy Division chestnut become the anthem to sing at us? They can all sod off!
Not exactly an inspiring United lineup. Technically we should clobber the Terriers. The reality????
Kemar has his first big chance of the match but it's blocked off by Nsiala.
Hammers not happy with Pelligrini? Wanted a higher placing, but decent considered they had an injury raveged season
No Lukaku, no Lindgard?
Former Tractor Boy, Martyn Waghorn down for the Rams
I would have thought so, too.
Swansea now 1-2 up through McBurnie.
Swans lead 1-2 at Ewood Park
United's bench
Grant
Smalling
Pereira
Fred
Dalot
Herrera
Chong
Where is everyone?
Klich strikes one well over from a corner. Come on, you Leeds!
Boro double their lead at Rotherham
No matter what happens , Leeds should consider this a successful season, considering the amount of improvement made.
Good to know that Tommy Chong is back in the United line-up. Will he be smoking a giant spliff on the United bench?
As long as the Rams win they have the last playoff spot?
also, Leeds will be the only non Midlands team in the playoffs.
If Derby concede, they will drop below Boro
Absolutely, but it's interesting that this commentator is raving about Frank Lampard's work here at Derby when they're fighting to hang on to sixth. We're third and yet it feels like an anti-climax given the recent run of form.
Hope United smoke their opponents. Heard their interested in Sevilla, star player, Cheech Marin! IS that true?
Yeah - Boro doing what they need to do in order to secure a playoff spot. Just waiting for Derby to stutter.
David Nugent on for the injured Martyn Waghorn. Like for like
I would consider Lamps a success since previous managers failed to get them in the playoffs and considering it's his first job. He will need to continue the improvement next season
That Wagborn injury is good news for us, if we go into a play off semi with Derby. He's looked a threat, especially in the air.
I have a quiz question. What do both our Uniteds have in common today?
YESSSSSSSSS!!!! LEEDS TIE IT UP . Congrats, Bob
LEEDS TIE IT UP
Frankie Lamps looks very smart in the blazer and jumper look.
Both playing the bottom relegated teams
iT SURE HAS kLICHED FOR lEEDS assisted by an Ayling opponent
YESSSSS!!!!!!!
Klich with the equalizer!!!!!
COME ON WATFORD!
COME ON BRIGHTON
COME ON ARSENAL AND CHELSEA in the EL... keep them busy
Correct, Dave. Well done. Away to the bottom club
That goal was scored right on the stroke of halftime
That Mateusz on double figures for the season now, an excellent return for a player who was tipped to be off in the summer. He's really turned his career around under the guidance of Bielsa. Has started every match.
Is my link behind? Still playing at Pride Park
This match is scouting duty for Bob as the Rams are possible playoff opponents.
Rams one up at the half. As things stand they will be facing Leeds in the playoffs.
Just reminder that there are two matches kicking off at 9.
Terriers vs United on NBCSN
Hornets vs Chelsea on CNBC
Did you watch this 1999 show?
I taped it and will be watching it with Tom and Matt
What do you think of the next season's United kit? It was leaked by accident.
They say it is a tribute to 1999...I don't see it!
I just like that it had white shorts and black socks!
I watched it last Sunday. A must see. The only problem is that there were far too many commercial breaks.
Is the away kit as well? Anything but that pinkish/salmon color.
Second half underway from Pride PArk, which is basically scouting duty for Bob
BLOODY HELL !!! TRACTOR BOYS TAKE A 2-1 LEAD ALMOST STRAIGHT FROM THE SECOND HALF KICKOFF. Sorry, Bob
Blades tie it up... could still win the title

Watching the Derby match right now... has the camera been from behind the goal for the whole match?
Gordon Bennett
Ipswich back on top
Thanks for the update, Dave. Will be around for the first leg , but not the second
Leeds really need to get their fingers out!!
I am too. Past couple of minutes have gone horribly wrong for Leeds.
Derby go close as the camera moves to the normal spot
As for United...just score three early ones AND the score often
Andre Dozzell with the goal , assisted by former Terrier, Colin Quarner. Andre Dozzell related to former Tractor Boy, Jason?
talkSport(on my phone) are around the grounds...it is great
Now Desmond at Ewood Park. Blackburn ties it up
His son
Leeds still third, but now the Teesiders occupy the last playoff spot
Thought that might be the case. You're in top form this morning
Hate Boro and Pulis
Would love the ref to blow up at Pride Park.
Me too. Leeds need to stuff them if they face them in the playoffs.
Blades piling on the pressure... still could be their title
The match at SJP has been the best match by far this weekend. It will be hard to top that
Would they be a better opponent than Derby... of course.... need a goal to make sure they don't play Villa!!
Hull take the lead vs Bristol City...their long shot became impossible
I've just made my brekkies and have seen your posts that we're 2-1 down now. What is going on with us!?
I think they would have to win and for the Canaries to lose. Both would have to happen and it could.
The Leeds players better know third isn't confirmed!!
My talkSport channel just changed to music. That has happened when they are blacked out
Baggies keeper, Sam Johnstone has talked himself into the book. Poor by the former United Academy keeper.
A goal at both matches would do it
Matty Phillips on for one of the Murphy twins . The other one was relegated yesterday
Monday nighter looks boring. Pep vs Pep in disguise. Yawn.
I'm sure that they do. I'm just worried that we're knackered at the end of a long season.
Derek Rae in the NBC studio because Becky was at the Kentucky Derby.
Rebecca Lowe returning to her Old Kentucky Home, eh?
Frankie Lampps with a change. Bennett on for U.S. international, Duane Holmes
Bristol City have tied it up
I'll have the Chelsea match on my computer
Teams coming out
Bristol City tie it up at the KC. Still all but eliminated from the playoffs. That's not idle gossip.
I have two matches and the blog on the computer and United on the TV
Stoke take the lead against Sh U
I have the PIP on the TV.
We've had some chances but we need goals! Come on!
Becky has probably flown back from Kentucky. KFC more like home for her than Kentucky. BOOM BOOM!
You'll be ahead of me for the Chelsea match then. The computer is always delayed
COME ON LEEDS! MOT!
United NEED to win!!
COME ON WATFORD
Leeds should be level, Jack Clarke races through, he can't beat Bialkowski and Hernandez fires the rebound straight at the Ipswich stopper
Well done, Dave. Quite techy!
Fans at Pride Park are having kittens....they need a goal... AND THEY GET ONE!!
Great news for Leeds too!!
Frankie Lamps is biting his nails now....
We are off at Cruddersfield
They're off from the John Smith's and from VR
Cheers, mate!
United sitting back
COME ON UNITED!
COME ON YOU HORNETS!
Go for the jugular !!
Why do players take their shirts off when celebrating...morons
GOAL !!! GORDON BENNETT! NO IT'S MASON AS HE GIVES THE RAMS A 2-1 LEAD.
Great run by the Ram.... then a penalty
I don't think it was. He slalomed thru the box... I think he just lost his balance
Good news for Leeds. Congrats, Bob
Young fails to control and then kick the ball out
Not a good start from our United
I've switched over to Cruddersfield. We need two big wins for our Uniteds.
Derby score a third
Leeds in third!
Again... a slow start from United
THEY NEED GOALS
PENALTY RAMS! I GUESS IT TECHNICALLY IS, BUT BARELY TOUCHED. LOOKS LIKE TOM LAWRENCE WON THE PENALTY
I've just switched over and Derby have scored a couple on the bounce!
Rash with shot from miles out...easy save
GOAL !!! FORMER POOL TRAINEE AND WELSH INTERNATIONAL , SCORES FROM THE SPOT TO MAKE IT 3-1 RAMS. Congrats, Bob
Blades invite Desmond
LEEDS HAVE TIED IT UP TOO
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!! DESMOND AT PR. Congrats, Bob
A good couple of minutes for Leeds
YES! Cheers, lads! We needed that. Stu Dallas at the ready. Now let's go and win it!
Goal scored from Dallas. The player, not Texas.
Watford started well
Feeling better, Bob?
Come on United...you're playing Cruddersfield!!
Just that one shot on goal
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MCTOM PUTS UNITED ON TOP
NOW SCORE MORE!!
GOAL! I smell a bit of off tuna fish and United have scored!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! THE TERRIERS HAVE CAUGHT A CASE OF MCTOMAIN POISONING
Watford go very close
Great save
Shocking goalkeeping from the Danish keeper in the Huddersfield net. No wonder they're down.
Kane down hurt
YES!!!!!!!
We've got a penalty now!
He has to come off
And the Tractor Boys are down to ten men. Luke Chambers with a straight red.
Terrible goalkeeping by the Cruddersfield keeper for the goal
Kante has a hammy...done for the season
Not exactly a great shot that really should have been saved by the keeper. Mata played one twos with Alexis and Rash before passing to McToain to score with the help of the Terriers keeper.
Bloody hell - Kemar has slipped going up and hit the crossbar with his effort. GRRRR!
Did they convert?
Tractor Boys down to ten men. Bob will be pleased.
Sorry mate!
Did you see the schedule of the playoffs I posted?
Sanchez doing well so far... Get a hat trick
It's all but certain that Leeds will face the Rams in the playoffs. Wonder what Bob thinks of them
Lindeloff almost brought the ball down for a shot...shame...COME ON UNITED
We've missed our last three penalties. Pablo, Bamford and now Roofe.
We need a Watford goal or two and United scored another 5 for United
I'm happy with that. I'm hoping that Marcelo orders up another espionage mission.
Wednesday equalize against QPR on Sunday
Free kick chance for United...come on
Chelsea have their first shot...saved
Mata into the wall
Chelsea wearing their new kits for next season
United are toothless from corners
Baggies, Burnley , and Hornets have all played with former United Academy keepers in goal this weekend. Thin k the Evil Blades are starting one on loan from the academy. Someone is doing something right at the MUFC Academy .
Gone are the days where Bruce, Pally, Vidic ore Rio came up
Norwich take the lead at Villa Park
Not a Big Club have equalized against Rangers.
Would love Alexis to make the Terriers look like Alexis Sayle.
