Crunch Time in the Prem
Morning, chaps! It's now or never for those teams still fighting for something in the top leagues. This weekend sees the penultimate matches in the Premiership and the final matches of the Championship season. We start with Spurs' South Coast sojourn at Bournemouth. Spurs will want to consolidate their position in the top four with a big win to chase away those Ajax nightmares from midweek. That's followed by Wolves v. Fulham. Then, it's the relegation battle between Cardiff and Palace. Finally, if you'll still hungry for more footie, there is a tea-time kickoff for Newcastle and Liverpool. I'm not sure I'll be around for all of it, but there is plenty on offer nonetheless. Join me for a cuppa!

Good morning, Bob. How have you been? Here for a marathon day
Interesting schedule today:
Final weekend of the regular season for the Football League with L2 playing at 10 and L1 playing at 12:30..Also Solihull Moors vs AFC Fylde in a national League playoff semi. That kicks off the same as this match
We're set to go on a gorgeous South Coast afternoon. Both teams in their usual clobber. And we're away!
They're off from the Vitality and Damson Park
Morning, MUR! Long week at work but happy to be joining you here for some of the good stuff.
Fred says Southend on Sea vs the Black Cats is on Plus today. He thanks you for that.
Thanks, mate. Long week as well and glad to join you as well.
Derek Rae says that teenager, Mark Travers, is making his Premier League debut for the Cherries in goal.
The Championship matches on Plus tomorrow are Villa vs the Canaries and Rams vs the Baggies
A match already Fylde with a surprise as Fylde take a second minute lead at the Solihull Moors in a National League playoff semi
Glad to know that Fred is taking advantage of the Plus.
Darren Anderton sitting next to the Cherries owner. Clive Allen says he has the most Premier League appearances for the Spurs. That's a surprise, but he was there many seasons.
Some nervy defending nearly allowed the nippy Son in.
Cheers. He will be watching at the same that Cardiff host Palace.
Oh - Lucas Moura went straight for goal from Pale/Beckham territory. Just wide of the mark.
Lucas Mora catches the teenage debutant out of position and nearly scores with a chip from the halfway line
The is guaranteed to be a new team in the Football League next season, no matter who wins the National League playoffs.
Wee Ryan down off a long solo run as he's down to a dire Spurs challenge and a deserved booking
That's as it should be - great to see some of these non-leaguers get a chance. I'd love to see the same for the MLS.
Curled free kick from Wee Ryan is well wide.
Lucas Mora flagged offside off a cross from Trippier as he headed wide. Nice run and pass from eriksen to Trippier off the goal kick
Mark Travers does well to push around a powerful long range effort from Delle Alli. That will help boost the confidence of the debutant
Oh - Moura draws an excellent save from the young Cherries keeper.
Back from the bog to see that I did NOT miss a goal
Toby picks up the first yellow of the match for a deliberate hack.
Toby booked for a cynical foul on Josh King on a Cherries break as he was beaten for pace.
No goals as yet, mate - the Nocito Curse not in effect.
It's actually the second booking. Your mate, Eric Dire was booked for a blatant foul on Wee Ryan , which was also on a counter.
LOL! I felt going was a safe bet.
The Cherries do has some threats up front, if Spurs fall asleep on the job today.
Oh - another big save from Travers at the feet of Moura.
Great close range block by the teenage keeper as Lucas Mora was through on goal. Did well to beat the offside trap
Oh - Son ran around the back of the Bournemouth defense but then couldn't pick out a pass.
Travers half the age of Boruc, who played in goal for the Cherries last week.
Oh - great run there by Son but then he lashed his shot well over the bar from eight yards.
A great Spurs break started by Lucas Mora. Passed to Number One Son , who went on a speedy run then with just Travers to beat , shot well over.
That's amazing; the young Irish keeper certainly has a bright future, on this evidence.
Bob will be interested to note that Cardiff will be relegated with a loss vs Palace today in a battle of septagenarian managers
Oh - now it's Delle Alli's turn to be frustrated by Travers!
OH!!! Travers superbly tips over a close range header from Del;e Alli.
Nothing would make me happier than to see Warnock do the drop today.
Wow! It looked as if Dier had fouled and could be getting his marching orders. But the referee didn't even blow up for a foul.
Surely that was a foul by Dier on A Cherries on a counter. That would have been a second yellow. Home fans furious.
No dog treats for Pawson for that poor decision.
On the replay, it looks to me that Dier got his studs to the ball. Good decision by Referee Pawson. Son is down getting treatment.
Play resumes and Josh King was through and Lloris did well to block for a corner
Artur Boruc is the only one on the bench not impressed by Travers' performance.
Another big decision for Pawson to make as Josh King seemed to be hauled down in the area by Lloris.
Wolves vs the Cottagers is the 10 AM Match on NBCSN
Eriksen tries a pop with his left peg. Travers smothers.
Wonder if Boruc is retiring at the end of the season because the Cherries are talking about signing a keeper this Summer./
Cissy booked for a foul on Nathan Ake. That's three Spurs bookings.
Now it's Sissoko into the book for Spurs for a professional foul. The cards are mounting up for the Spurs backline.
Cally Wilson down from a challenge from Dier. Was that a penalty? He's having a mare of a half. I would replace him at halftime
What's happened now? I think that Son has been sent off!
Celtic one up at Aberdeen on way to clinching yet another SPL title.
The challenge went in and Son didn't like it. Lashed out in a really unprofessional way. He's off!
WOW ! Number One Son sent off for a reaction on Thomas Jefferson Lerma. Unusual reaction as he pushed him down off a reaction from a foul
Potch is looking on wondering how this all went pear-shaped. Spurs could be down to nine men and behind to a penalty. As it is, they've got 10 men and it's still 0-0.
A deserved red card. The second leg in Amsterdam on Wednesday will be his last match of the season. Mo PO looks pissed at Number One Son
A LOB Blooging duo of stoppage time minutes
Two minutes of stoppage time before these sides can catch their breath.
Corner from Wee Ryan out for another
Hey Boys
Not a great slate of matches today
I will be here for bits
Got company
What an extraordinary first half. Excellent early morning entertainment. I hope that UWS has been watching upstairs in the bedroom telly. I'm off to do some half-time dishes.
Are Spurs going to blow it for Top Four
If they lose today... who knows!!
HT
It's 0-0 at the end of an eventful first half.
Celtic one up at the half at Aberdeen as is Fylde at the Moors.
Good morning, UWS. It seems that none of teams in the fight for the top four want a CL place.
A double substitution from Mo PO. AJ Foyth and Wanyama on for Toby and Dier , who was dire.
WOW !!! Spurs down to nine as AJ Foyth sent off minutes after coming on. That was a horrible foul. The right call.
Morning, UWS - we've barely been able to catch our breaths this morning with this one. Now it's Foyt who's gone off for a really reckless high challenge. Spurs down to nine men!
Horrible foul by AJ Foyth as he drove in on Jack Simpson , looking more lie Bart with that challenge.
Wow, making some cheese on toast and Spurs down to NINE!
AJ Foyth and Number One Son will be suspended for the match vs the Toffees on Mother's Day and the first two Prem matches of the 2019-2020 season
Correct, UWS. Spurs playing like cheese on toast
Spurs could have been down to eight.
Cheese on toast sounds lovely, mate.
AJ Foyth was on the pitch for two minutes and fourteen seconds. WHY I've had longer trips to the bog!
In reality, Spurs could have had four men sent off today, if you count Dier's challenge and Lloris' foul on King in the box.
Fred and Dave will be aware that Pompey and the Black Cats blew it on Tuesday, handing Luton and Barnsley promotion to the Championship
Again, I don't like all the yellow and red cards being shown all over the place
I know I sound like one of the Four Yorkshire Men... but watching old vids... a yellow card was really upsetting to players and red cards a real rarity...now days.... common place... and wanted by the commentators
Agreed. It's been a mare for Spurs. Wonder what Ajax is thinking .
Agreed, but it thought to the two reds shown today were correct.
United need Spurs to lose today and to Everton... United get two wins and they'd be above Spurs
Wee Ryan with a tame shot to Lloris of a pass from Nathan Ake.
Of course, can United beat Cruddersfield and the Leaks
That can happen > Surely , United should be able to defeat the Terriers and Warny's lads, who may already be relegated by the time they play at OT
Just a reminder that Cardiff will be relegated today if they lose to Palace.
But do you really have any problem with the two Spurs' red cards? Son pushed a player over in the face and the Foyth challenge was a real leg breaker!
I'll be loving it if they do lose today, MUR.
Celtic tow up at Aberdeen on route to yet another SPL title.
A quick check of the top of the table shows that, should Bournemouth win this one, Chelski could leapfrog them into third and Arsenal could come within a point or two of them with wins this weekend.
That would mean that United would end the season by playing their final tow matches against already relegated teams. How often has that happened to any team?
The Playoff spots for L1
Pompey 87 +32
Sunderland 85 +34
Charlton 85 +29
Doncaster 70 +16
Posh 69 +7
Pompey need something at home to Ac Stan to get third
Sunderland visit Southend and Charlton host Rochdale
Donny host Coventry and Posh host Burton
Do Pompey want to meet Posh(and Young Fergie) again after losing midweek to them at Fratton Park?
I was listening to talkSport during that match and Pompey were two down after 25 minutes... they invite Desmond....and they announce Pompey taking the lead...then corrected themselves!!
Just to let both of you know that I watched an EL match on the telly Thursday Evening . Frankfurt vs Chelsea on Univision Deportes.
A Spurs draw would mean United couldn't catch them
Good point, UWS. Black Cats vs Charlton would be a repeat of the 1998 Championship playoff Final thriller.
I hate TNT and BR coverage of the CL and EL
The panel is ridiculous
They cover only one match a day on TNT... it costs on BR
They are showing ONE game the entire season in the EL.. the Final!
I miss Fox!!
That would be their first away draw of the season in their final away Prem match of the season.
Nine-man Spurs are still capable of nicking a goal here - they've got threats.
Will it be an All Prem EL Final?
UWS will be interested to note that Southend on Sea vs the Black Cats on Plus today
Celtic two up and about to win the title
Fylde still ahead at Solihull in a one off play off game
Salford better not blow it tomorrow
Cally Wilson with a long range effort deflected off of Wanyama for a Cherries corner
Not a Wealth of Nations as the corner was headed out and Adam Smith with a long range effort well wide
as things stand, Salford will play Fylde as Wembley if they defeat Eastleigh tomorrow. Fylde still one up at the Moors.
So, Chelsea lose at home to Watford... Arsenal lose at home to Brighton...United beat Cruddersfield NINE NIL....I'd like our chances for top four
The National League playoff winner will be playing their first ever season in the Football League next season
OF course, Arsenal could win and lose at Burnley and Chelsea lose at Leicester AND Spurs win this one and at home to Everton
United will have to play like they did for OGS as caretaker instead of they way they have played for OGS actual manager
Can United score nine? Will Spurs end up with nine men on the pitch?
I was listening to the radio yesterday, all four of the teams in the National League playoffs which means a new team is coming into league football
It is something like 154 teams have played in the league
Notts County, one of the original 12, could be out of it
All the other 11 are still in the league... if tho Ac Stan is a phoenix club
OH!!! Great long range save by Lloris off a rocket from Cally Wilson. Cherries corner.
MUR th ee state mentioned that earlier, UWS. Exciting times in the National League playoffs.
Correct, UWS that's due to Eastleigh's shock overtime win at Wrexham in midweek.
Since the second red card, this match has gone off the boil a bit.
Spurs losing it. Mo Po should have addressed that during halftime
Agreed. It's been an uneventful first half.
I'd love to see you lot put nine past Hudders.
Like for like as Mousset on for Jordon Ibe
Mousset takes a wild swing at the ball after being subbed on. He first touch not pleasing Eddie Howe.
Cheers. mate. Terriers and Barnsley will be in the Championship next season. Extra Yorkshire teams in the Championship. Rotherham relegated to even it out
Actually not extra. Sadly Evil Blades saw to that
With Fylde on way to an unexpected Wembley final;, the tow Daves will be Fylde with excitement if Salford are there as well.
We're not Fylde with excitement with this second half.
Under ten to go
Spurs just trying to run out the clock now. Sissoko, who's on a card, comes off and Ben Davies come on.
The goals have dried up for Spurs at the worst time. They're out if that happens in Amsterdam
Again, Modern Day Football...The 11 player team not really dominating.... playing the same way
Spurs counter led by Lucas Mora, but outnumbered because Spurs are two players short./
Spurs corner now - they're going for this one at least.
Nice slide tackle by Steve Cook on Lucas Mora for a Spurs corner
Spurs players showing their frustration. Ajax will take them to the cleaners if they do that in Amsterdam
So will Son and Foyth be suspended from that Ajax match?
No, but they are done for the season domestically
No that will be their final match of the season. Both will miss the first two matches of next season as well.
Big chance for the Cherries!!
Josh King with a shot blocked by Wnayama for a corner. Scramble in the box off the corner and cleared for another Cherries corner
another scramble in the box
Anywhere will do as Spurs hack away the corner
That could easily have been dagger blow for Spurs.
GOAL... BOURNEMOUTH HAVE WON IT!!
SPURS ARE IN TROUBLE!!!
GOAL! Ake has indeed put the dagger in! What a big goal!
They still need to just win at home BUT....
A Barber shop quartet of stoppage time minutes as Eriksen tackles for another Cherries corner.
GOAL !!! AKE HEADS IN THE CORNER , WINNING IT FOR THE CHERREIS
Gooner will be loving this!
Spurs paying the price for playing with nine men
COME ON WATFORD....you're a good team... beat the Blues
Wanyama booked for a clumsy challenge on Adam Smith. Not a Wealth of Nations for Spurs.
Another skirmish now for Craig Pawson to sort out.
Yellow cards all round.
Dele Alli is now being an idiot!!
So is another idiot.. Danny Rose
Now a fight breaks out. Thomas Jefferson Lerma vs Danny Rose. Both booked.
Dele did get a yellow...he was pushing players
What a crazy game!
Wasn't Danny Rose involved in a fight vs Ajax? He's turned into a real punk.
Danny Rose majored in idiocy at Thorpe Arch.
Agreed David
Celtic win 0-3 at Aberdeen and have clinched yet another SPL title.
Spurs have a corner...Last Chance Saloon
One last chance for Spurs from this corner.
Alli was brought down like Kane was in Russia
It's over
Spurs lose
Late Spurs corner and a volley from Lucas Mora is well over
NO ONE wants Top Four
It finished 1-0 to the Cherries as Spurs season has gone horribly wrong
Well, well, well. That's put a real monkey wrench in Spurs' season now. Huge implications for the Champions League run in.
Fylde have won
Off for walkies ahead of the 10 am matches. Wolves vs the Cottagers and the L2 matches.
Off for walkies
are you Fylde with excitement?
The teams are out at Molineux - it's obviously bring your kids to work day there.
Just a heads up that I'll be in and out for the rest of the day, as Kate and I are trying to finish up our adoption profile book this weekend.
Back for the 10 AM matches. Nuno with an honorary Doctorate in Sport from the University of Wolverhmpton.
They're off from Molineaux.
Cheer. Wishing you and Kate the best.
WOW ! Firs time since the 1949-1950 That every home match at Molineaux has had 30k plus fans. Even better than the title winning teams of the 50s
Fake Dons vs Jayne Mansfield the MOTD in L2. Winner takes all. Winner automatically promoted while the loser is in the playoffs. Fake Dons on top early on.
I am off to the store
Two early penalty appeals for Jot. First one a great tackle by Tim Ream, the second he's booked for diving off a challenge with Cyrus Christie.
Nice one touch passing from Wolves and nice pass from Jimenez as Sergio Rico makes a superb close range save from Jota for a Wolves corner.
Have fun, UWS.
Another chance for Jota. Callum Chambers caught in possession , the ball broke to Jota and he shot just wide from the corner of the box.
Arnautovic gives the Hammers the lead vs the Saints. Mark Noble with the assist.
Morecambe and Wise in the lead vs Newport, who are now replaced by Exeter City in the last playoff spot.
Colchester takes the lad at L2 champs , Abe Lincoln. Colchester will occupy the final playoff spot if they go two up.
Back after a refreshing shower. Wolves and Fulham still at 0-0 about half an hour into the first half. Not much at stake with this one. Wolves are well out of the EL slots and Fulham are already relegated.
Pot Vale in the lead at already promoted Bury. Fake Dons up to second with Bury in third,
Colchester two up at Abe Lincoln and now in the last playoff spot ahead of Exeter on goals scored.
Welcome back, mate. Actually, Wolves in 7th if this finishes a draw
OH!!! Looked a close range reflex save by Sergio Rico off a header from a corner.
But will 7th qualify for EL this season?
The Cotagger's Merchant , booked for nasty foul on Johnny.
Seventh will if Citeh win the Cup. If the Hornets win the Cup then they qualify for the EL. Hope this helps.
Long range effort from Dendoncker well over.
As the announcer stated Wolves qualify for the EL if they finish 7th and Citeh win the Cup. Would be their first time in Europe since 1980 when they qualified by winning the League Cup
Wolves win a corner after a great tackle by the Merchant on Johnny, who went shopping for a foul
A minute of stoppage time.
Cambridge in the lead at Sol's lads, who are still one point ahead of Notts County for the last drop spot
