Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Afternoon, chaps! Le Havre’s Stade de Océane is the venue for the first of the Women’s World Cup quarter-finals, which pits England against Norway. A place in the semi-finals against the USA or hosts France is up for grabs and while England go into the match as favourites, their preparations for this game have not gone entirely swimmingly since their win in a fractious match against Cameroon.
President Trump has waded into Women's World Cup waters, warning Megan Rapinoe not the "disrespect" the American flag during the match with hosts France tomorrow. Pfffft!
Tonight's team news:
England: Bardsley, Bronze, Walsh, Houghton, Bright, Parris, J. Scott, Kirby, Duggan, Stokes, White.
Norway: Hjelmseth, Moe Wold, Thorisdottir, Mjelde, Boe Risa, Herlovsen, Graham, Engen, Reiten, Minde, Saevik.
Good Afternoon, Bob. Here to join you for what should be an interesting quarterfinal
How is everything in Fred Town?
Afternoon, mate - everything's peachy here. How about you?
We're doing well. Thank you for asking. We didn't have any problems , but there was lots of severe flooding in our area due a storm Monday night.
Looks like I'm having trouble accessing the match on-line this afternoon, so I'm going to pedal on home and enjoy it there, mate. See you in a tick.
They're off from Le Havre.
Cheerio. Look forward to chatting in a few minutes
COME ON ENGLAND!
YESSS !!!! JILL SCOTT GIVES ENGLAND THE LEAD ON THE COUNTER OFF NICE RUN AND PASS FROM LUCY BRONZE. WENT IN OFF THE POST.
The goal came two minutes and ten seconds from kickoff. A long clearance from Goalkeeper, Karen Bardsley was passed to Nikita Parris. She played Bronze down the right , who skipped easily past the left back. He r pass into the box was missed by top scorer Ellen White, but Jill Scott passed it in off the post.
A cross from Tracy Duggan is volleyed wide by Parris at the far post.
Parrsi tackled by Mjelde for an England corner.
Herlofsen wins a corner off of Lucy Bronze off a pass from Graham-Hansen.
Off to pick up Elizabeth from the grocery store. Will be back in a few minutes
Blimey - I've just arrived home to see that England are 1-0 up through that Jill Scott strike!
Looks like the Little Neviller has adopted the waistcoat and shirt sleeves look that Gareth Southgate pioneered at last summer's World Cup.
England continue to dominate possession and midfield and are enjoying particularly notable success down the right flank, with their Bronze-Parris axis.
Oh - Parris was in there. She did everything right, running onto a pass from Scott and jinking inside but then shanked her shot well over.
Oh - Ellen White strikes the woodwork with a thunderous volley from about eight yards!
A bit of daylight for Reiten there but Stokes blocked the shot well.
Goldenballs in the stadium with his daughter in tow tonight. He must have a brilliant life.
A poor touch from England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, who makes a hash of trying to deal with a Steph Houghton back-pass. She gets away with it.
GOAL! Ellen White does get her goal! England 2-0 up!
That was created by Parris who found some space behind the backfour and just slid a lovely ball across to White to score.
I'm back and WAY HAY! Just saw the replay of the goal.
Ellen White now top scorer in this tournament.
Oh - Stokes with a lovely delivery to Scott at the back post. Just couldn't stretch to tap the ball home.
OH!!!! A nice cross into the box and Jill Scott nearly scored again . headed wide at the far post with a free header as the keeper missed the cross.
Half-time: England go in 2-0 up and could easily be 3 or 4-0 up. They are humming.
England two up at the half on and on track to a place in their second consecutive semi.
Welcome back, mate!
Graham Hansen should have buried that chance. Norway's best opening so far.
Mead comes on for Duggan for England.
Norway beginning to open up England's defense in a worrying fashion now.
GOAL! Bronze with a peach of a goal for 3-0 now!
The Little Neviller and Goldenballs both celebrating that one. England are cruising this one.
Oh - cleared off the line by Houghton!
England are starting to give up the ball in dangerous places. Sloppy stuff as they're trying to coast out the last half hour of this one.
Oh - now Bardsley keeps Norway out, but they are definitely knocking on the door.
Hello, mate. I was not around because I was watching what I missed when running errands. Delighted with the score.
What a goal that was by Lucy Bronze, but England have been shaky at the back on a few occasions.
Penalty for England!
PENAKTY ENGLAND! STEPH HOUGHTON PUSHED OFF AN ENGLAND FREE KICK
Welcome back, mate - this one is well and truly done and dusted.
The ref seems to be explaining the concept of staying on the line to the Norwegian keeper.
Paris steps up for the penalty and....
It's saved quite brilliantly!
WHAT A SAVE BY THE KEEPER FROM THE PENALTY FROM NIKITA PARRIS. still 3-0.
Now Beth Mead down after stopping a promising Norwegian attack.
Stokes down off a clumsy challenge . Should have been a booking to the Norwegian defender. She was and rightly so
The final roll of the dice from the Wee Neviller as Daly is on for Nikita Parris.
A quintet of stoppage time minutes and just wide by Georgia Stanway
Daly with a cross cleared for an England corner on an attack that started with the high press.
Risa down for Norway as this one is done and dusted. England will face France or the U.S. in the semis.
It's over and England emphatically defeat Norway 3-0
Full-time - Well, that was quite a satisfying outing for the Little Neviller and his side. They could have easily romped it more but they're through to a semi-final match up with either the US or France.
Hope to see you around for tomorrow's match-up. Should be a cracker!
Cheers great chatting with you. Not sure if I will be around tomorrow.
CHEERS!
