Christian Pulisic Sunday!
I'd had a lie in through the Evil Blades v. Palace match after a late night out with the missus. I've been having a go for several weeks about their relentless hyping of Christian Pulisic, but apparently the Great American Hope is going to start for the Blues on his home debut at Stamford Bridge this afternoon. Tune in with me to see how he gets on today against Leicester.

Morning, chaps. the Evil Blades have just completed a 1-0 win over Palace. That's unfortunately 4 points from their first two matches. Not good.
Chelsea got absolutely tonked by United last weekend so they'll need to bounce back today in their home opener. It should be a fascinating outing.
Good morning, Bob. I saw the earlier Prem match and to be honest the better team won. It was a really dismal Palace performance.
Better news is that the Reading Railroad steamrolled Cardiff 3-0.
Morning, MUR - are you pumped up for Pulisic Sunday?! ;-)
Yes , definitely so. How about you?
Hey Boys
I am here
Leicester look Pretty in Pink
Teams in the tunnel. Looking at the Foxes kit, I now know why the name Pink Kits was picked.
Teams coming out to the usual reggae strains at SB:
Chelsea (4-2-3-1) Kepa; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Emerson; Kante, Jorginho; Pedro, Mount, Pulisic; Giroud.
Substitutes: Caballero, Alonso, Tomori, Barkley, Kovacic, Abraham, Willian.
Leicester (4-2-3-1) Schmeichel; Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Fuchs; Ndidi, Choudhury; Perez, Tielemans, Maddison; Vardy.
Substitutes: Ward, Justin, Morgan, Albrighton, Barnes, Praet, Iheanacho.
Referee Graham Scott.
Good Morning, Dave. An accurate description about the pink Foxes.
Frank making a scene by coming out by himself
He wants that standing ovation on his home debut as Chelsea manager
Kate (aka "Pink Kits") wants to make it clear that her moniker is ironic and that she in fact hates pink kits. She's irritated that Leicester, the team she's tipped for the title, is wearing, yes, a pink kit today!
Listening to the Test Match on my laptop as well
Morning, UWS!
She's a few years off picking the Foxes!
Will the marathon trip to Istanbul affect Chelsea as it seemed to affect Liverpool yesterday. Chelsea had one extra day to recupperate.
Almost time for the Pulisic - HE'S AMERICAN, YOU KNOW! - kick off!
We are off
Love to see Chelsea fail to win again
They're off from the Bridge
I had no idea!
Pedro with a goal disallowed for offside in the first minute
WOW...thought that was in by Pedro
A very quick start for the Blues and Pedro riffles one into the side netting.
Actually volleyed into the side netting
The American almost in!
Oh - Kasper bobbled one and Pulisic was nearly in there.
OH!!! Double save by Kasper from Pulisic then Mason Mount , then cleared for a corner.
Pulisic heads on the corner then cleared away.
Nice flick by PULISIC from the corner. He's American, you know!
Chelsea have already had three or four chances to take the lead.
Both teams looking to open their Prem account . Chelsea have come close several times.
Is he?
At least have a point!
Right now, there are only three teams with 100% records
Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United!
Any win tomorrow for the good guys will take them top
MOUNT scores for CHELSEA
He's not American!
GOAL !!! CHELSEA TAKE THE LEAD THROUGH MASON MOUNT
Wes Morgan caught in possession and Chelsea were able to Mount another attack as their Mason scored past the stranded Kasper as he was able to ghost in
The Foxes not playing well in their " Pink Kits."
United walloped these guys 4 nil
Why didn't the AMERICAN score that goal; I was told that there was an AMERICAN playing. Who is this Mount fellow anyway? Grrrr!
He's a Chelsea Academy Grad , who played on loan with Lamps at the Rams last season.
Chelsea look well up for this one today - that 4-0 smacking has lit a fire under them.
The American did not score , but Chelsea were able to mount a goal.
A collision between Tielemanns and Emmerson. Both seem okay
Nice one, mate!
To be fair, they started something like this at OT
Cheers, Bob.
Agreed, Dave. It may be different now that they have a lead to defend.
Kasper must think his defenders are ghosts because they were nowhere to be seen when the goal was scored.
Mason Mounts a header straight to Kasper off a cross from Azpi after a run and pass from Pedro
Mount was in there again but put his header straight at Kasper.
I fear that you'll make a Mountain out of a Molehill with the Mason Mount puns this season, MUR.
Ollie heads away a Foxes free kick for a Foxes corner
LOL! Probably so, mate.
I CAN'T TAKE IT!!!
A Chelsea free kick mounted into the box was headed away.
LOL, Dave!
Kante misses a chance... Thought he missed it but it was blocked
Nice last ditch tackle by Fuchs to prevent an easy tap in for Kante. Kasper fists away the corner mounted into the Foxes box.
Stupid foul by Pedro on Tielemans
The free kick from the fourth President was headed away
You need to come up with a pun for Pulisic, mate - he is American, you know!
Jami Vardy nearly nicked the ball from the Chelsea Kepa, but it was passed away in the nick of time.
Kepa almost done up like a kipper
MODERN DAY FOOTBALL!
Is he? From Hersey?
I'm working on that , mate. Will attempt to have one,
Yes he is. How sweet it is to have the Hershey Kid starting for Chelsea!
Is HE
HER She
I already dd
Ayoze with a foul from behind on the Hershey Kid does not leave a sweet taste
Typically cynical by Jorginho on Tielemans and deservedly gets his requisite booking
Decent free kick by the Fourth President, but nobody was able to connect
The Hershey Kid - nice one. Is he related to the Milky Bar Kid?
Yes he is. They're Fifth Cousins twice removed.
Chelsea have taken their foot off the gas and it's all gotten a bit scrappy. I could see Leicester nicking a goal back at some point.
Agreed. It's been really scrappy since the fifteenth minute.
Almost time for a break. I need to freshen up my cuppa.
Almost time for me to take off my bandages!
A minute of stoppage time as a corner from the Fourth President is a training ground routine gone horribly wrong
A nightmare back pass from Ricardo to Perreira that turned out to be harmless.
HT
Game fizzled a bit after a bright start
Chelsea one up at the half.
Glad you are able to take off the bandages. Sounds like progress.
Agreed about the match fizzling out
That Chelsea goal....modern day football crap!
At least Arlo said they are playing around the back to a fault!
How do managers allow it??
Goals conceded could lose them a job!
I like was Neil Warnock said...I like to play football...in our opponents half!
We are off at the Bridge
Second half underway from SB
Agreed. Not sure if Warnock's lads did today being steamrolled 3-0 by the Reading Railroad
Olly offside on a Chelsea attack.
Vardy offside of a through ball from the Fourth President. Had his shot turned around with just the Kepa to beat
Our fourth president can write some decent stuff but CAN'T SHOOT!!
OH!!! The Fourth President went on a solo run, round the Kepa, but nobody was there to get to his cut back pass. Then shot over from long range by Fuchs
Agreed. His shooting is definitely not Presidential
I'm back with a fresh cuppa for the second half now.
Is that a case for impeachment, chaps?
Brendan winless in a dozen matches vs Chelsea. he was their youth team and reserve team coach .
Welcome back. He's not quite there , but riding on thin ice.
Zouma blocks a Foxes pass for a Foxes corner off a long possession. Pedro down with presumably an injured ankle.
Certainly a Congressional censure then.
Willian and Tammy Abraham warming up.
Chelsea subs starting to warm up now - I suspect that The American is going to be replaced shortly.
Yes Ndidi.
Pedro trying to trot one off but he may have to come off, as well.
Congress will need to Mount some votes for censure or impeachment?
LOL! Ndidi is the joke name that keeps on giving.
I think the subs were warming up due to Pedro being down
Cheers, mate. Agreed.
Will anyone be around for the first Monday night match of the season tomorrow?
Tammy Abraham , another academy grad being given a chance, about to come on.
Leicester have really come back into this one in the second half.
The Fourth President wins a corner off of Christiansen
I should be, mate. Cheers!
The corner was headed out then a long range effort from Tielemanns lands in the cheap seats
Like for like as Tammy Abraham is on for Olly. Will he sacrifice the Foxes on the Mount?
Tammy Abraham coming on to replace Ollie Giroud. It will be interesting to see how he performs after suffering racist abuse from Chelsea fans on social media this week.
Glad to hear that. Not sure if you're teaching a class tomorrow.
Nah - it's prep week this coming week. Classes start on the 26th. Can't wait!
As Lamps stated, that was really disgraceful and sickening. Sad to read that
College classes in Texas also start on the 26th. Wishing you a great year
I'll be there for the match that will secure top spot for us and Bob's lot is already there too
Oh - that looping cross could have gone anywhere. Nearly caught Kepa out.
GOAL! Ndidi ndoes it!
Fucs goes on a long run down the left and it takes a really wicked deflection off of Azpi and fools the Kepa as it deflects inches over.
Glad to see that equalizer!
Well now - what does Frankie Lamps do now?
GOAL !!!NDIDI HEADS IN FROM THE CORNER, MAKING UP FOR HIS ERROR FOR THE CHELSEA.. NOW 1-1.
surely it is Ndidi did it
That corner was definitely Presidential and met with a superb header Ndidi for that equalizer. The corner stemmed from a fluke deflection.
Glad we will all be around for the big match tomorrow.
If Chelsea concede again and lose....they will be rock bottom
The problem with the blogging...I tend to miss the match more!!
The final rolls of the dice for Frankie Lamps Kovacic for Jorginho and Wilian for for the Hershey Kid. One attacking move and one like for like
New Belgian signing , Dennis Praet , on for Choudry.
The new Belgian signing Praet comes on.
What a miss by Mr President.... got back to the pen!
Oh - how did the Prez miss that one? Impeachment, for sure!
OH!!! Nice Foxes run by Fuchs then breaks to the Fourth President and blats well over from three yards out
Nice cross from Pedro, but missed by Abraham
Premier League so far for Chelsea
TWO MISERABLE SECOND HALVES
Will the Senate be able to Mount enough votes for impeachment?
Every Prem scorer today is English except for Ndidi .
Agreed. Are the miserable second halves related to the halftime talk?
Vardy should have scored!
OH! Vardy put through by the Pres and drags a shot wide.
Oh - Vardy in now and whistles it just past the right post.
End to end stuff
End to end stuff now - Willian marches forward and rifles one into the side netting.
Willian forced wide by Ricardo as Abraham was able to Mount an attack
Both teams going for the win as they should.
Albrighton on for Ayoze as, which seems to be designed to help the Foxes retain more possession.
Mark Albrighton on now. I reckon Leicester can win this one!
Kante brought down by Praet. Chance for a Chelsea set piece.
Free kick from Mount nearly reaches the Mount.
A Chelsea shot Mounts off the Foxes Turkish defender for a Chelsea corner
The corner from Willian headed away by the first man then on the return pass Willian is offside.
Azpi not a fan of the Fourth President as evidenced by that last challenge.
Leicester break...Teili has a shot saved
A Foxes counter and Albrighton cut it back for Tielemans ,w ho shot a powerful effort straight at the Kepa that was beaten away.
A long range effort from Chelsea Zoumaed over.
Why is Kasper wasting time....they should have won this
4 added mins
A Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes
High and wide by Tammy Abraham
A draw means that Brendan will be winless against Chelsea in a baker's dozen matches, but he will take this result.
The crossing is atrocious
OH!!! pass from Ricardo just behind Vardy
Another atrocious cross. This time from Vardy
Foxes looking pretty in pink and Chelsea feeling really blue.
Nearly over now - shame, I thought Leicester might have taken this one.
Great sweeper Kepa and it finishes 1-1 at SB.
This has been ding dong!!
That is it!
Ends 1-1
Chelsea lucky to survive
Have a good rest of the weekend
Talk to you tomorrow
Oh - Albrighton nearly in there but Kepa swept up. And that's it!
A througouly absorbing match in the end. Chelsea still without a win this season. They're left on a point, along with Leicester.
Looking forward to catching up with you lot tomorrow afternoon. Hope you're knee is feeling better, mate.
Cheerio!
Great chatting with everyone . Looking forward to chatting ahead of the big match tomorrow afternoon.
Agreed. Hope your knee is better.
