Down to Business
We're only a couple of weeks into the season and yet it already feels as if we're right down to business. Several managers, for example, are already under pressure. Frank Lampard's Chelsea visit Carrow Road to play the upstart Norwich City side. The Blues are without a win and need a result. After that, we've got Man Utd hosting Palace. United had a winning start the first weekend, but then dropped points last weekend. How will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer respond? At the same time, my beloved Leeds United travel to Stoke, who have yet to earn any points at all from four matches this season.
Finally, there is the big one for this weekend - Liverpool v. Arsenal. Both have perfect records but something has to give today.
Join me for all the intense Premier League action today.

Good Morning, Bob. Up to join you for the match from Carrow Road.
Morning, chaps - seeing the scenes of Carrow Road really bring back the memories of high school. Taking the school bus, grabbing a donor kebab before the match, walking down to the ground together, and of course the matches. Magic memories!
Morning, MUR - thanks for joining me. Great to have you on board.
Here are the teams lining up in the tunnel now:
Norwich: Krul, Aarons, Hanley, Godfrey, Lewis, Leitner, Trybull, Cantwell, Stiepermann, Emi, Pukki.
Subs: Byram, Vrancic, Klose, Fahrmann, McLean, Tettey, Srbeny.
Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Christensen, Emerson Palmieri, Kovacic, Jorginho, Pedro, Mount, Pulisic, Abraham.
Subs: Alonso, Barkley, Willian, Caballero, Giroud, Batshuayi, Tomori.
Referee: Martin Atkinson (W Yorkshire)
Pedro has picked up a knock during the warm-up and is replaced by Ross Barkley.
Cheers, Bob. Great to enjoy the pleasure of your company.
Villa defeated the Toffees 2-0. End a fifteen match winless Prem streak and Jack Grealish ended a streak of twenty consecutive Prem defeats when starting for Villa.
Will Bob's dog,Pukki score another hat-trick.Bob will release the hounds. This should be an interesting match
Martin Atkinson gets the match underway from Carrow Road.
Ready to go at Carrow Road now.
Who was the last Canary to score a hat-trick in the Prem prior to Pukki?
A lot of attention on Teemu Pukki today. I still don't think he can continue scoring at the rate that he did in the Championship, despite last weekend's antics.
Frank Lampard the last winning manager at CR when the Rams won 3-4 in December
Probably not, but he will probably do enough to keep the Canaries up.
Tentative start to this one so far.
GOAL! What a finish from Tammy Abraham! Chelsea are in front!
GOAL !!! TAMMY ABRAHAM VOLLEYS CHELSEA INTO THE LEAD WITH HIS FIRST EVER PREM GOAL FOR CHELSEA.
Super overlapping run and cross from Azpi and Abraham met it with a sweetly timed half volley past Krul.
0-1 Chelski!
Norwich strike back! 1-1!
Great team goal and great volley . Started from the back and a long ball went to Tammy Abraham , ho passed to Mason Mount to pUlisic , who played Azpi down the right and his superb cross was volleyed in by Abraham
GOAL !!! TODD CANTWELL TIES IT UP FOR THE CANARIES OFF A PASS FROM pUKKI
Chelski were distracted by Abraham slamming into the hoardings and allowed Norwich to play their way through the defense. Pukki laid on the assist and Cantwell tapped home.
What a start!
Norwich really playing it around well.
Tammy Abraham went from Zero to hero within a couple of minutes. Caught in possession and Beundia went on a great run and passed to Pukki whose pass was diverted in from close range for an easy tap in by local boy, Todd Cantwell.
A question for Bob? anything in the book of Genesis about Abraham paying for faffing about at the back?
Oh - Pukki might have burst free there but Stieperman couldn't find him.
I'm no Biblical scholar, mate, but I don't believe that's in the narrative.
Thanks for the clarification , mate.
Pukki involved with every Canaries goal this season. Four goals and an assist. Is that right?
Stiepermann grans Kovacic and not even a lecture by Martin Atkinson. Is Rowan officiating?
Stiepermann hauls back Barkley and might have picked up a yellow there. But it's an interesting looking free kick chance.
The free kick headed out by Stiepermann for a Chelsea corner.
Definitely Not the Nine O'Clock News here at Carrow Road, that's for sure.
GOAL! Mount fires Chelski back into the lead in the 17th minute!
Morning Boys
I have been up for a a while and saw both goals but couldn't get the computer until now
I agree but... great memories! Of course, I used to get Fish and Chips!
Chelsea retake the lead!
GOAL !!! CHELSEA MOUNT AN ATTACK AND THEIR MASON GIVES THEM A 1-2 LEAD.
Nicely worked goal there and Daniel Farke is left muttering about it on the bench. This is a cracking match!
Good morning, Dave. Yellows and I went to several matches at CR. He's probably in attendance today
Pulisic with assist off a pass from Jorginho and as a result Chelsea Mounted a fantastic finish
Norwich will certainly score goals in the Premier League this season but they'll open themselves up too much with this approach against the better teams.
All three scorers are English. Who would have thought?
Pulisic gets a shout out for tackling back. Haven't heard his name a lot so far.
They've faced Liverpool and Chelsea, but are showing us that they should get the points needed against the lower half teams to survive with room to spare.
Bob, do you remember walking down from the town and a moped tried to take the chicane fast running away from cops... didn't make it and the cops swamed in on him
I think Pulisic is credited with the assist for the second Chelsea goal
That is unusual in this day and age.
A quiz question. Who was the last Canary to score a Prem hat-trick prior to Pukki?
Morning, UWS - I do remember that odd incident on the way to Carrow Road. We didn't really hang about too long to see the end of it. There were always these things happening when we went to matches that were a bit scary.
The Canaries block three shots . Two from Abraham and another on his trip up the Mount
Great save by Krul
Oh - point blank save by Krul from Christiansen.
Krul on Chelsea as a shot from Christiansen is superbly tipped over.
Especially the Villa match
Was it Chris Sutton during his stint at the Norwich?
I remember a similar incident at Pr when the Tractor Boys faced Leeds in the League Cup during your senior year. We were chased by Leeds fans , but out ran them to the bus.
No it was not. The clue is that this person is present at this match
Jorginho with a shot blocked off a pass from Pulisic
Definitely the Villa match. But I remember another time when my Dad took us to see the Arsenal at Carrow Road. Steve was hiding his colors under his jacket as we walked up. There was a mob that came around a corner obviously looking for a fight, chanting "You're going to get your effing head kicked in!" We just walked on sharpish.
Going to matches was definitely more frightening back then.
GOAL! Pukki has scored again! Amazing!
Pukki scores again!!!
GOAL !!! DESMOND AT CR AS PUKKI SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH
Pukki timed his run perfectly there, on the shoulder of Zouma. The through ball came through and he finished sharply with Kepa just getting a touch.
Desmond!
The goal came a s a result of Chelsea preventing a corner. The clearance made it to the halfway line. Beundia found Pukki with a slide rule pass and Pukki scored off the Kepa.
Pukki involved in EVERY Canaries goal. Five goals and an assist
Azpi upends Stiepermann and Norwich have a free kick.
Jorginho with his requisite booking for a wreckless challenge.
Oh - Kepa did well there to keep out that shot from Buendia and then Hanley.
Free kick taken shot and Chelsea caught out as a long range effort from Buendia swerves and is beaten out by the Chelsea Kepa. The rebound from Grant Hanley straight to the Kepa. Could have been 3-2
Not sure if Desmond will be around long enough to get refreshments
No responses for the hat-trick question?
You've got me stumped with the clue that it's someone who is here today.
Yes that's correct. It's not UWS!
Shame - Pulisic got into a good area but his cross was errant.
No idea
I was going to say Sutton
Great atmosphere at CR and looks similar to the way it looked back in the day
Pukki is certainly earning his corn. I don't really rate him but he's proving me wrong.
The answer is none other than Effan , who is one the mic for this match. Scored a hat-trick vs the Toffees back in 1993.
Great minds think alike, eh UWS?
He seems a nice chap. When asked about the match ball he said he will give it to his daughter.
Alright then - how about Grant Holt. I remember him scoring quite a few for Norwich. Is he there today?
The Rams , who were managed by Lamps last season one up vs Slaven's Baggies in a Midlands promotion six pointer.
Wow - that's really interesting. I didn't recognize his voice. They should have said that during the commentary.
No not him. The clue is that he likes to make annoying remarks when providing his expertise.
Stperpermann booked for what seemed a fair challenge on Jorginho. A make up call for the hold he got away with earlier ?
Marco Stiepermann picks up a yellow for the infraction.
Nice run and pass from Azpi off of Leitner for a corner
Norwich break after a poor corner but Lightner can't find Pukki with his long ball.
Leitner leads a counter off the corner, but his pass is too long
I EFFAN knew that!!!
Not really!
A pair of stoppage time minutes
Norwich are an exciting side
LOL, UWS!
Yes they are. Yellows will enjoy going to the matches
Oh - Pulisic involved twice there, finally teeing up Barkley to blast over.
Barkley hits one high...very high!
And why aren't Chelsea wearing blue??
Barkley with a shot from just outside the box off a pass from Pulsic. The shot lands in Row L
Great question , UWS. Not sure why
Yellows has got to be loving this season.
HT... 2-2
Glad I got up early!
It's Desmond at the end of a really enjoyable half.
We've reached half-time of this breathless match. Four goals in the first half - great value for the punters.
Me too. Almost stayed in bed for this one
Continuing the East Anglian theme, the Rams one up at the half vs the Baggies thanks to a penalty from ex Tractor Boy, Martyn Waghorn
Abe Lincoln, looking for a third consecutive, one up vs Donny Trump at the half. Is that fake news?
Teams out and we are off again
Chelsea already with a few chances in the second half
Will Chelsea have a rotten second half like their first two league games?
Back for the second half after feeding the pets
A Chelsea corner mounted in the box and headed over by Azpi
Not sure. That was mentioned by the crew at NBCSN after the match between the Villains and Toffees. I was thinking the same.
A question for UWS. Why is Pompey vs Rotherham postponed?
Have you been following the stuff at Bury?
Dunno
Stiepermann down, holding his arm off a challenge from Zouma
I'm back for the second half with the official breakfast of the LOB.
I have. Supposedly the question about them being in existence was supposed to be decided yesterday. The original Accrington Stanley went out of existence in the early 60s under similar circumastances.
Welcome back. Great choice for brekkies.
What's going on at Bury, MUR?
I would think things are bleak for Bury if they have yet to play a competitive match this season. Something ends to be done because it disrupts the entire L1.
Why aren't they playing matches?
Googling... I see that the Victorius Festival is taking place in the City so for safety reasons it has been postponed
They have yet to play a match this season because they don't have enough players in their squad to forma starting eleven due to finances. In danger of going out of existence.
Thanks for the update. I guess the Festival was victorious over footie.
Bury have been in dire straits and had a midnight deadline last night to show EFL that there would be a new buyer
Late last night, it was announced that a deal is in the works and they could survive
They would be the first FA Cup winners kicked out of the league!
The shade in the Norwich box is really annoying
Chelsea aren't second best in the second half this week
Emmerson with a shot straight to Krul off a pass from Mason Mount
Glad to read that. Definitely want them to survive, but how will they make up all those matches?
Other than the Finnish finish, all the goals have been scored by English players
Thanks for the background, guys - I had no idea.
True - they've really built up Carrow Road since we were kids. Doesn't look the same at all .
Cheers. Glad to help. Sadly, Bolton not much better off.
The owner has been vilified by everyone... didn't want to sell even tho he said he did!
He bought the club for ONE POUND
He was on talkSport during the week asking people to pledge money... a real plonker!
Just a reminder that both Uniteds on at 10. One United on NBCSN and the other on Plus
The benches stands seems to be the same stand... they've built up everything else
Agreed. A real jerk. He's in danger of putting the club out of existence due to his selfishness. Thanks for the update
Leeds on Plus?
I am going to have to have Soccer Saturday AND Leeds on my computer!
I really like Ross Barkley - he's one of the few true #10s left in the English game.
Goal chance... I am off to the loo
Yep! I can't wait. We've got Stoke away this morning. They're bottom of the league, so three points is definitely necessary.
Agreed. You have Stoke at ER on Tuesday in the EFL Cup.
GOAL! Abraham fires Chelski back into the lead!
GOAL !!! TAMMY ABRAHAM WITH HIS SECOND TO GIVE CHELSEA A 2-3 LEAD SECONDS AFTER PUKKI SHOT STRAIGHT AT THE CHELSEA KEPA.
Great finish from Abraham - his third goal of the season.
What's going to be response now from Farke's side?
UWS, Kate hopes your knee is feeling better. I do too, for that matter.
Another missed goal while in the bog. Cane from a throw from the Kepa to Ross Barkley. He passed to Kovacic and his superb pass found Tammy Abraham, who turned Canaries central defenders , Grant Hanley and Bed Godfrey, the scored with a great finish from the D
Me too. Hoping for a speedy recovery..
The Canaries nearly score with their first corner of the match. A header from Ben Godfrey came off the bar.
I called it!!
I think the two goals in this match are Abraham's only goals of the season. That's what Isaac told me on the Mount.
Knee is doing well
Walking around without crutches... still a bit of a limp but fine
Frank can't be upset about the production from his top two strikers, Abraham and Mount. Five goals between them in the first three matches.
A shirtless Olly getting ready to come on for Tammy Abraham. Here it is and a deserved standing ovation.
Was that quote from the Book of Genesis. No mention of Isaac?
I really want Chelsea to continue not to get full points!
Peter Dreary said that Abraham is the first English player to score two in a match for Chelsea since Lamps in 2012.
United's line up has been announced
Looks like it's unchanged from Wolves
That's an amazing recovery, mate. Well done!
Glad your knee is doing better and agreed about Chelsea.
Barkley with a shot blocked by Godfrey for a Chelsea corner
MUR - Kate is wondering how it feels not getting ready for school this year.
The ball's in the net but it's not going to count. Giroud infringed on Krul. I'm not convinced.
Chelsea get the ball in the net... VAR checking for something
I think that should count... wimpy keepers
Not many knew what happened...goal does not count
Krul on Chelsea as the Canaries keeper drops a cross and Zouma scores. Martin Atkinson called a foul on Olly on Krul. Practically no contact
DON'T MENTION THE S WORD!!
Kick save by Krul from Pulisic off a pass from Barkley.
Ten minutes for the Canaries to sing again
Sorry, mate - I won't.
No modern day team wants to cross the ball in the box!
They can't take on a man, get half a step and put it in the danger area!
Triple change by Daniel Farke for the Canaries. Kenny McLean on for Leitner, Dennis Srbeny on for Stiepermann , and Trybull on for Vrancic
Actually Vrancic for Trybull. Farke replaces three fellow Germans with a Scot , A Bosnian, and a German
Pulisic - THE AMERICAN - is replaced by Willian. Not that impressive.
Willian the Brazilian on for Pulisic the AMerican
I was just sent these two from my niece in Scotland
I got them both
What cheese is made backward?
How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh?
Not sure about the cheese , but eight tickles required?
Abe Lincoln ties it up at Donny Trump. So much for Trump being better than Lincoln
Cricket update
ENGLAND SUCK
Incorrect
Edam
TEN Tickles
Lamps Chelsea's first English manager since Hoddle in 1996. Is that correct?
BUGGER! I was going for Edam . Should have said that.
Derby score a pen and miss a pen and the Baggies now tie it up late
From a Pen!
Aren't they the World Cup holders.
A tale of three penalties?
Here comes A LOT of injury time!
The rugger World Cup in Japan next month? Since when are they big in rugger?
I think that's right, yeah.
He was mounted to the ground for a while!
Mount staggers off and is replaced.
Final roll of the dice from Lamps as Alonso on for Mount for his first Prem appearance of the season. A quintet of those minutes
I was expecting a mountain of stoppage time to mount on the scoreboard. BOOM BOOM!
In the One Day game they are
Just won the World Cup this summer
Now it is the Test Match form of the game... the biggest Test Match fixture...The Ashes
First Test lost
Second Test drawn
Third test match... bowled Aussies out for 170 odd... England bowled out for 67!
Aussies post England a target of 359... they are 27 for 2
12 wickets lost for England....highest score... TWELVE
Bob used to love cricket
Donny Trump take a late 2-1 lead vs Abe Lincoln. Now I know why he says he's better than Lincoln
I still love cricket but I can't follow it.
Thanks for the update
Zouma down off a physical challenge. Emmerson put through Willian , who shot off the bar.
I listen to Test Match Special thru the BBC sometimes
Lamps was the last manager to win at CR and looks to repeat history
Will you be watching the Rugger World Cup?
