The Democratic National Convention - Night 1!
Hiya, folks - I'm settling in to enjoy the opening night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention. Like everything else these days, it's going to be a weird one this week, with Milwaukee serving as only a nominal location and most of the speeches beamed in virtually. Let's be honest - that's the only sane approach to take. Regardless, I'm keen to see the Dems, our only hope for restoring any hope to our nation, gets off to a rousing start tonight. The planned speakers will include the Governor or our my fair state, Andrew Cuomo, Amy Klobuchar, John Kasich, Bernie Sanders and Michelle Obama.
If you're also watching, feel free to drop by for a cocktail and a natter.

Good evening, Bob. Here to join you for the Democratic convention in these unusual times
Evening, David - thanks for joining me. I'm just tuning in to the prime time coverage. My early impression is that they've put a tremendous amount of work into this production in order to make it seem more like a regular convention and less like a Zoom session.
I'm impressed with the early focus on bread and butter economic issues. That's got to be the focus.
Leon Bridges now with a nice tune. I really like his stuff - good to see that he's on the right side.
This has been really well narrated by Eva Longoria, from Corpus Christi just a couple of hours up the coast from here. Now talking about the need for a national data base and talking about national standards for police officers
I agree, mate - a really well put together package. I'm dying to see if the Republicans can match it next week.
Loving all of the great music in this broadcast. I'm enjoying the Maggie Rogers song now.
WOW! What a powerful speech from Michelle Obama. She really went after Trump hitting him where it hurts
