The Premier Peacock World
A very good Saturday morning to everyone out there in LOB world. We're waking up on the second Premiership Saturday to a different world indeed. By instinct, I popped on NBC Sports first thing, only to see the Tour de France coverage on. So, this is my first experiment with Peacock, which has most of the matches today. We start with Everton v. WBA. The Toffees had a brlliant start to the season last weekend, with a win away to Spurs. The Baggies on the other hand got off to a loss at home. That's followed sharpish with my beloved Leeds, who dazzled against the champions but finally succumbed to a 4-3 loss. We're at home to Fulham, another fellow promoted side, who got hammered 0-3 at home by Arsenal. United get their campaign started at 12:30, with a home opener against Palace, who won their first match. And we end the day with league leaders Arsenal who have another London Derby against West Ham. The objective with this one is very simple for me. Almost as important to us as a big win against the Cottagers is that the Baggies lose at Goodison, because every loss keeps them rooted on the bottom below us. My Leeds start today at 13th, which would be just fine as a finishing spot. Join me for all of the action. Come on, you Whites!

It's a new crew in the studio for Peacock. Becky Lowe is there hosting. And Robby Mustoe is alongside her as usual. But instead of the other Robbie or Kyle Martino, Tim Howard is representing the American voice.
The players are in the tunnel listening to a bit of the old Z Cars Theme.
Come on, you Toffees!
Tim Howard describes Goodison Park as "paradise, a proper football stadium." He would certainly know.
The preliminaries are over and we're set to go. Rob Green and Jim Proudfoot on the mics.
Quick start from the Baggies, with Pickers with a poor clearance and the Baggies nearly capitalizing on it.
The teams on display today:
Everton (4-1-4-1) Pickford; Coleman, Mina, Keane, Digne; Allan; James, Doucoure, Andre Gomes, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.
Substitutes: Joao Virginia, Kenny, Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Davies, Bernard, Kean.
West Brom (3-4-2-1) Johnstone; Ajayi, Bartley, O’Shea; Furlong, Livermore, Sawyers, Gibbs; Pereira, Diangana; Robinson.
Substitutes: Button, Kipre, Phillips, Harper, Field, Robson-Kanu, Edwards.
Referee Mike Dean.
The Toffees clicking into second gear now. Early corner.
Oh - Calvert-Lewin is nearly in there. He's crowded out by a steadfast Baggies defense.
Good open start to this match.
Bugger! Diagane has banged home the Baggies' first goal back in the Prem. Pickers had no chance.
0-1!
Oh - big chance for Richarlison. He hesitated and Livermore was able to block him out.
That was Diangane's first goal for the Baggies, by the way, after having left the Hammers this summer.
Good morning Bob . Here to join you for this Peacock Day. I have a strong pot of coffee brewing
Alana with a long range effort straight at Sam Johnstone. Look s like it's been all Toffees since the goal
Oh - a giveaway allowed Calvert-Lewin in there. Blocked out for a corner. This needs to go in.
I saw the replay of the goal when I turned on the match. A great strike and a shock lead
Morning, David - it's a cracking match here. The strong coffee may not be absolutely necessary.
Of course, thanks again for the help with Peacock. It looks as if it'll be absolutely vital.
Cardiff one up at Forest
Oh - Perreira tries a pop and it's parried away by Pickers.
You're welcome . Glad to help. I din't expect it to be this vital
The Toffees win a corner
The game has really stretched out, as if it's in the 80th minute. A really furious pace to this match.
The only televised match is the late one today
I see that; shocking effort from NBC. I automatically turned on the usual channel, only to find the Tour de France coverage.
Oh - Livermore bursts through and hits the post! PheW!
Really poor by NBC today. They sure won't and just as bad tomorrow and even worse on Monday
You will be delighted that Not Big Club is bottom of the Championship because they were deducted a dozen points.
I wonder if they'll chase their loyal cable and satellite customers away. I know that millennials love streaming, but what about the rest of us?
Morning all
Our Uniteds are the other Peacock matches today. Steve and Johnno can watch their teams on the telly
Wow! I hadn't heard that. What did Not a Big Club do to deserve that, other than, of course, being Not a Big Club?
Morning, Dave! How are you, mate?
We've usually had winning efforts when our teams have played on the same day. Hoping that proves to be the case today.
Coleman cut out a spicy mustardy pass from James Rodriguez for a Toffees corner. A long throw from Digne results in a shot from Rich Arlison deflected for a corner
Then Doucorre wins yet another corner. Michael Keane heads over the corner from Digne
Good Morning Dave. How are you
Oh - a long throw nearly allows Richarlison to capitalize. Out for a corner.
Digne's corners have been a bit rubbish this morning. His long throws seem to be more of a weapon. Another corner now.
That was better from Digne - but Michael Keane nodded well over.
Im doing well
Had a tough week sitting on the recliner!
I did close my pool which is a pain in the butt
Ball in the net.... Offside called but it will be a goal
Never went off Richie
Half an hour gone and Slavan Bilic will be a happy chappy. I was not expecting this scoreline when I woke up.
It's taking a while.... is there a question?
It is a goal!
Sounds like you're living the retirement dream, mate.
We managed to get through the fourth week of the semester. A third of the on-campus portion done. Eight more weeks and we'll be into Thanksgiving and then remote mode.
I went into the kitchen and come back to see that VAR is allowing an equalizer from Calvert-Lewin
GOAL! I almost missed it for the lack of reaction but Everton are back on level terms. A second goal for the season for DCL.
1-1!
Congratulations, Bob. Wishing you more success and keep safe
What do you mean "remote mode" after Thanksgiving
I thought the semester now ended then
Both managers dressed as twins
Thanks, mate. We seem to have quelled the initial outbreak. We've got 92 cases, but only 10 of them are active now, with 82 students having recovered after quarantine.
Two custodians tested positive last week, which is a worry. First employees with positive cases.
It's a mixed return to Goodison for Slaven
The on-campus portion ends at Thanksgiving and the students will leave campus and won't return until January. But we have to finish up the last two weeks in remote mode with study week and finals.
It is worrying, Bob, but your campus is doing remarkably well compared to others across the country. Keep up the good work. In most work places, the custodians are almost always the first employees to test positive
Two things that really bugs me about Peacock...nothing on-line is ever live. It is always delayed and usually get updates on my phone before I see it. Second, I can't watch it on full screen because I am on LOB!
My Apple TV won't allow me to stream Peacock from my laptop. I it is not a new enough version
Oh, I thought the semester ended at TG
West Barcode Albion really need to lose this!
Luckily , Melanie has her on campus classes only in the music building, which is at the very beginning of the campus. Jacquelyn all online
Really poor from NBC. Peacocks are more evil than owls
Yikes....I picked Forest to go up this season... I thought they would bounce back from their horrible end of the season.... they lost at Loftus Road last week 2-0 and are now 0-2 down at home to Cardiff
LOL, Dave! That yellow and green barcode did scan a goal at the register . Probably only found on fake vomit on a Halloween costume
I didn't pick Forest, but am surprised. Not a Big Club bottom due to their points deduction., Bob must have been on the committee
GOAL
James Rod scores a nice one....he is my player!
GOAL !!! JAMES RODRIGUEZ SCORES HIS FIRST TOFFEES GOAL AS THE TOFFES HAVE COME FROM BEHIND TO LEAD 2-1 WITH A GREAT FINISH FROM JUST OUTSIDE THE BOX. NICE RUN AND PASS FROM RICH ARLISON
Well, all of my classes are now remote. So, it's a weird matter of going over to the office and Zooming the class with students who are in their dorm rooms across campus. That's the world that we're living in sadly.
Hammers Rodriguez with a Hammer blow for the Baggies
Lovely jubbly! That's the scoreline that I was hoping for!
A red card!!!
What happened!!
Gibbs is straight off!!
Pushed him in the head!!
YIKES! KIERAN GIBBS SENT OFF FOR THE BAGGIES NOT SURE WHY AND WHY DID HE DO THIS SECONDS BEFORE THE HALF
I was really surprised when James went to Everton. That shows the ambition of the club.
I missed it but the announcer said a finger to the eye
Even better! Now let's really put the hammer down on the Baggies in the second half.
Former Gunner Kieran Gibbs wins the first Red Card of the season. No one picked him of course.
The Toffees have come from behind to lead 2-1 at the half and the Baggies are now a man down as Kieran Gibbs was sent off in stoppage time
Really stupid from Gibbs there. Luv it!
WOW ! Now Slaven has been sent off on his return to Goodison. Great close range mic on him, but didn't understand what he said
Sheff Wed won away last week and host Watford today.
I hope they survive. I never want to see a team go down with a points reduction
I missed the Slaven incident
Did you see that there is a deal for the year for Peacock instead of per month
I don't like that James went down like a sack of potatoes.... South American for you
I don't what Slaven said but it wasn't much
I wonder if anyone is complaining to NBC. I know it won't do any good but they have to know they are screwing everyone!
Are they doing all of this Pk crap just at the beginning of the season to get people to join or is this going to be the norm?
Too bad we didn't have a category for First Manager to Get Sent Off. Luv it!
ER....not view
Early morning typing!!
NICE view
I hope to get a walk before the Leeds match
Will this Peacock coverage go straight into the Leeds match or will we have to got to a new link
Bloody hell.... I hear about the goal before I see it
Great goal!!!
TOP BINS
Bugger! The Baggies are back in it with a free kick goal. It's Perreira with a lovely strike. Pickers grasping at thin air.
I agree with you, Dave - I hope that people are complaining to NBC about the lack of coverage.
Back for the second half to see that the ten men have made it Desmond at Goodison thanks to a superb curling free kick from Perreira . Pickford should have done better as it was at the part of the goal he was supposedly covering
I agree . We should complain to NBC this week. Not sure how many people will
I think the links for the other matches are separate. That's my best guess
Yesterday Coventry defeat QPR 3-2 for their first win in the Championship in nearly a decade
Rich Arlison wins a free kick just outside the box. He fell after minimal contact
GOAL !!! THE TOFFEES SCORE TO MAKE IT 3-2. FREE KICK DIGNED INTO THE BOX HEADED BY RICH ARLISON , SAVED BY SAM JOHNSTONE AND EASILY PUT AWAY ON THE REBOUND BY MICHAEL KEANE
Wahay! Michael Keane has knocked in a third from close range!
3-2 Toffees!
Slaven looks frustrated. I didn't think it was a foul, Rich Arlison floppng over, but Slaven should be upset at the poor defending
Michael Keane the Toffees top scorer. Two today and one in midweek vs Harrogate
And I miss another goal!
Free header for Richarlison from the free kick. He should have scored. Keeper did what he could but Keane followed it in.
Baggies behind again!
It's another cracking match again in the Prem. Shame it's not on the box.
Thankfully, we can watch replays in case we miss anything. I missed the first two goals for various reasons
I really wish many people would complain to them!!!
Agreed, Bob. Poor from NBC
I can't seem to move back
They showed the replays for the red cards. Stupid from Gibbs , but poor from James as his theatrical fall really got Gibbs sent off. Thought Slaven should have been only booked Poorly handled by the Dean of officials. He Should have listened to Slaven , who initially was reasonable and as Robbie Mustoe stated he should have at least been warned. Your thoughts?
Is the stream breaking up for you or is it just my ancient laptop?
I haven't been able to move back. I think you only move back and forth on replays, not live matches. Another complaint for NBC
GOAL.... DCL with his brace for the day
Shame.... I would have gotten an assist if it went in by Rich
James is having a brilliant match.
It wasn't going to go in
GOAL !!! THE TOFFEES LEAD 4-2. NICE CHIPPED PASS INTO THE BOX FROM JAMES RODRIGUEZ AND PASSED ACROSS THE BOX BY RICH ARLISON AND AN EASY TAP IN FOR CALVERT-LEWIN
It has been clear but .... DELAYED
Rich Arlison with a pair of assists and Calvert-Lewin with a pair of goals
I am so fed up with United and their transfers!
If they are going to buy someone....buy someone!
It happens every window! They wait until the last minute!
Bruno was linked with United the whole window in January and he didn't arrive until late....Unied had many games he could have played!!!
Free kick to Everton.... I don't think that was a foul
GOAL! Lovely jubbly! It's 4-2. James was again the architect with a lovely ball floated to Richarlison. Ball was going in but DCL made sure.
Jake Livermore fouls James Rodriguez just outside the box as Siggy Stardust on for Doucorre
OH! Free kick from Digne was off the top of the bar
Off the bar!!
Corner.... DCL... hat-trick!
James over a free kick now. No - it's Digne who rockets it off the post!
Off his back? Not much of a header
GOAL !!! CALVERT-LEWIN WITH HIS FIRST EVER TOFFEES HAT-TRICK AS HE HEADS IN A GREAT CORNER FROM JAMES RODRIGUEZ
Lovely - let's have some more goals, Toffees!
I agree with Dave. The free kick for the fourth goal wasn't a foul, nor was the last free kick that lead to the corner. James fell theatrically as he did to get Gibbs sent off. Not happy with James
Calvert-Lewin now GBB? Did anyone pick him?
hat-trick man comes off.... I'd have wanted to stay on and score more!
A double switch for the Baggie. Perreira for Matty Phillips and Kyle Edwards for Diangana. Both like for like and Iwobi on for hat-trick hero, Calvert-Lewin, also like for like
Cooper is back for Leeds
He starts
Mitrovic starts for the visitors
My fantasy team has Cooper...but he's on my bench
My other defenders are Maguire, Coady, Walker and Bertrand
I do have Dallas and Phillips starting in my midfield
My opponent has Bamford.... so I hope he gets shut out today
Ball in the net again.... Richarlson with a shot... but the flag is up... he was off
Rich Arlison with a goal disallowed. Just barely offside
Yesterday Bayern schellaced Schalke 8-0 . Twenty year old American , Chris Richards played the final twenty minutes as did seventeen year old English player , Jamal Musiala , formerly of the Chelsea academy. Musiala even managed to score the eighth goal
Both teams have made their final roll of the dice. The Baggies was Sam Field of Dreams for Romaine Lettuce Tom Sawyers and the Toffees was Moise Kean for James Rodriguez
That means Kean and Keane are on the pitch for the Toffees. The defender has two Opened his prem account, but the striker hasn't
A wild shot from Moise Kean is high and wide. Now we know why he has only scored twice for the Toffees
Moise Kean wins a corner
This one is done...off for walkies
I agree. I'm about to do the same.
The match at Goodison is over as the Toffees run out comfortable 5-2 winners against the Baggies who played the second half with ten men and minus their manager
I'm back after brekkies. That Everton win was just as the doc ordered.
Now, I'm experimenting with the Peacock stream. I've downloaded the app on my iPhone and it seems to be streaming a bit better there than on Chrome on my laptop. Just the phone charging right now ahead of the big one.
The line-ups for the big one:
Leeds: Meslier; Dallas, Cooper, Koch, Ayling; Phillips; Harrison, Hernández, Klich, Costa; Bamford.
Subs: Caprile, Alioski, Struijk, Shackleton, Roberts, Poveda, Rodrigo
Fulham: Areola; Tete, Hector, Odoi, Bryan; Anguissa, Reed; Cavaleiro, Onomah, Kamara; Mitrovic.
Subs: Rodák, Ream, Knockaert, Lemina, Cairney, Kebano, Decordova-Reid
One change for us, then. Pascal Struijk, who was found out a bit last weekend against Pool, has dropped to the bench, and - as Dave mentioned, our skipper Liam Cooper is back in the fray.
Back from walkies and noticed that Leeds's first Prem match at ER in sixteen years is on a different link
Teams in the tunnel at ER and hopping Mini Cooper drives Leeds to victory
Cardiff won 0-2 at Forest , but Not a Big Club bottom on -9 points
MOT being played on a lovely sunny W Yorkshire day
Rodrigo replaces Pablo Hernandez in the starting lineup, as he was injured in the warm up.
Bugger! Pablo has sustained a groin injury in the warm-up and will be replaced by Rodrigo at the last moment.
They're off from ER.
COME ON LEEDS! MOT!
The preliminaries are over and our first match back in the Prem in 16 years is on!
This match is a true test for both teams to see how far they have progressed
Liam gives away a free kick in a dangerous area.
Not a good start for Mini Copper as he gives away a cheap free kick just outside the box
Well wide from the free kick fortunately.
A Day in the Life of Bryan and he tries to score the same way he did in the playoff final , but goes wide of the mark this time
First corner for us now - come on!
More in the same life as Ayling wins a Leeds corner
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!
Helder slams in our opener!
WAY HAY ! HELDER GIVES LEEDS THE LEAD AS THE CORNER FROM AYLING WAS HEADED ON BY A COTTAGERS DEFENDER AND THE GOAL WAS SCORED WITH A SPECTACULAR FINISH FROM A DIFFICULT ANGLE
GET IN!!!! Before 5 minutes are ticked off, Helder Costa makes no mistake!
Good morning chaps.
Next corner really is Ayling as it's cleared by the first defender at the near post
Oh - great ball in after the corner from Kal to Rodrigo who couldn't gather it in.
Good morning Steve . How are you
It was going to take a quality strike to beat the former PSG keeper, who was part of France's WC winning squad
Congratulations, Bob. You couldn't ask for a better start. Just what the doc ordered
Very well. It's in the mid 60's here so all the windows are open. Coffee and a bagel and maybe the last peach until next year. I took the bandage off Thursday and I'm confident that my cut won't open up again.
Morning, Steve - welcome to the Elland Road party!
We've got a corner to defend now. Mark em up, boys!
Michael Hector heads just over from a corner
Oh - Hector had a free header there against Koch. Fortunately he shouldered it over.
Came off of Koch and the next corner is headed away
Now another corner
I am back from a long walk.... Congrats mate!!
I was able to listen to commentary on 5Live. It is blacked out!
PNE take the lead at Carrow Road from the spot...in front of some fans
The benefits of having a big Koch shown there.
The corner was punched away be Meslier when he should have easily caught it then Harrison Reed shoot s over from 25 yards out
Meslier got away with a dodgy punch there.
Welcome back, Dave. LOL, Steve!
Nice one, Steve - young Robin Koch is a pun in the making, isn't he?
Blackburn takes the lead vs Wycombe
Helder tries a bit of a Curler but Ariola gathers easily.
both starting keepers are French. Does that translate into a high scoring match?
Every week mate. It's magnificent to paraphrase SAF.
I would take a repeat of our 3-0 win in June.
I hate it... 5Live is ahead of Peacock... by a least 30 seconds!
Kal buys a cheap one there and now we can swing a free kick in.
Argyle sweater takes the lead at the Real Dons as does Wasall at Harrogate
Free kick from Kal Phillips punched away by Arriola
Ariola punches out from Kal's effort.
Carlisle defeated Southend on Sea 2-0. The Shrimpers were bottom of L1 last season and look like they could go down again to the National League
The Gils took the lead at the DW then Wigan tied it up less than a minute later
Oh - Rodrigo gets to the by-line but can't find the right ball in.
Cheltenham two up at Tranny while Newport takes the lead vs Barrow on their return to the Football League
Blackburn two up vs Wycombe, who surely are favorites for the drop
Muggins color commentator really likes Areola for Fulham. I can't see why at the moment. He's conceded a goal and punched his way through Leeds set pieces rather than calmly gathered. On loan from PSG, but I doubt they miss him.
We've got three defenders inside Mitrovic's shorts right now.
Celtic lead Livvy 2-1 while it's 1-1 between Killie George Hamilton Academical
