Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good Afternoon, Bob. Thanks for getting us started. Enjoying a spot of lunch. How are you today?
Hiya, David - I'm of course in the office again, preparing for a Zoom class later this afternoon.
In an earlier match in a repeat of the Championship playoff final, the Bees thrashed the Cottagers 3-0
Currently we are zooming in on some League Cup action. How are the classes?
Oh - Eddie had a chance to put Arsenal in front by Adrian did well to stand up to him.
OH! Adrian did well to save at the feet of Eddie off a pass from Joe Willock who was put free down the left by Xakha Khan
Well, I'm getting used to the remote teaching, but I don't like it very much. I miss the face-to-face contact with students. But that's where we are for the time being.
Nico Williams pressures Saka into a Pool corner
Corner from Harry Wilson out for another
Corner headed out and Salah passes to Jota whose pass is diverted wide by Grujic
Doug Fusella and I are keeping a close eye on the transfers today. Apparently we've missed out on this French kid Michael Cuisaince from Bayern who has failed a medical, but we're still in for Todd Cantwell from Norwich. He would fit in really well in the Bielsa system, I think.
I'm hopeful that you will eventually be able to return to in person teaching. Just not sure when
Minnie Minnow booked for a foul on Saka
When I watched some Bundesliga games Cuisance looked useful off the bench by Bayern standards. He would do well at Leeds and Todd Cantwell would be a useful signing too
The ball's in the net but Cedric is judged to have been offside. Arsenal definitely knocking at the door, though.
Dundalk one up vs Faroe Islands side,Klaksvik. The winner will be in the group stages of the EL. Dundalk lost all their group stage matches a few years ago, but they were all close losses
Harry Kane and Abel to give the Spuds a second minute lead vs Maccabi Haifa
Each team has dominated in spurts. Fairly even so far and a proper cup tie.
Nice last ditch tackle by Milner on Joe Willock. Despite his age he still has it
To my mind this match so far shows that Liverpool's second team is rather weak. You'd have to think that, were they to pick up some key injuries to players such as Virgil, TAA, Robertson, Salah, and Mane, they'd struggle.
I'm really impressed by Saka - it's great to see him included in the England set-up for the next international against Wales.
I second that. The match is a week from today with , kickoff at 3 PM on TUDN
I agree. They are a bit inexperienced and would probably not win the Prem. I think Curtis Jones and Nico Williams could do a decent job in the Prem, but not sure about the rest
LASK takes a shock lead at Sporting Lisbon. United thrashed them in the EL earlier this year
It is close to a full strength Gunners , so not too bad from Pool's second string
WOW ! Macabbi Haifa ties it up at the Spuds. Steve will be amused by that
Shot from Jota takes a hop, but goes straight to Jay Leno
I don't know - the only regular starters that I see there are the former Tonight Show host and the former lead singer of Genesis. The others regular subs.
Oh - there is the Granite Man as well - so three, I suppose.
Spurs back in the lead . Now 2-1 vs Maccabi Haifa. Lucas Moura with the goal
Also Pepe, Kolasinac , Eddie, and Saka .Either start or get a fair amount of playing time off the bench. I'm sure Steve and Arteta are expecting a win tonight
It was 5-5- when these teams met in the LC last year. I don't expect anywhere close to that tonight. How about you?
Long range effort from Caballos well wide
Doesn't look like it, mate.
Nice ball through there but Saka had made his run too early.
Saka through on goal off a long ball from the back. Either way Adrian did well to come out and block
Foul; by Caballos on Jota. Thought it was a pen, but an inch outside the box
Ceballos came perilously close to giving away a pen there - just outside the area.
Free kick by Milner easily headed away
Oh - nearly an opening Liverpool goal there. Leno with a terrific save from Jota and then Minnie Me hit the bar from the rebound.
oH! Pool nearly take the lead Nice by Jay Leno from Jota then Minnie Minnow hit the bar
Cross from Harry Wilson headed out then Curtis Jones with a shot deflected out as the halftime whistle blows. It's 0-0 at the half
0-0 at half-time then. All to play for in the second half.
Celtic takes the lead at FK Sarajevo
Dundalk two up vs Klaksvik
Lo Celso gives the Spuds 3-1 lead vs Maccabi Haifa
Lo Celso with his second as the Spuds now lead 4-1
The second half is underway from Anfield
Back on for the second half now then.
Pool win a free kick due to Rob Holding on to Jota.
BOOM BOOM!
fREE KICK HEADED INCHES OVER BY gRUJIC
Welcome back, Bob.
Klaksvik pulls it back to 2-1 at Dundalk
Rocky would not have been pleased with that clearance from Adrian. Now would Bullwinkle.
Xhaka Khan with his requisite yellow card.
Xahkha Khan booked for a foul on Grujic a minute after one on Jota
Nico Williams wins a corner off of Kolasinac
Oh - great save from Leno there!
Grujic heads on the corner then a superb athletic save by Jay Leno from Dick Van Dyke who delivered a really witty punchline
The Potters have won 0-1 at a reserve Villa side and are surprisingly in the quarters
Former Leeds striker , Sam Vokes scored the winning Potters goal.
Scott Arfield has given Rangers the lead vs Galatasary
Celtic have won 0-1 at FK Sarajevo and are in the group stages of the EL
Not too far wide by Jota as it's deflected for a corer as the Gunners are Holding off
Oh - Jota with a little stab there that just about went wide. He's a great addition for Liverpool and a real loss for Wolves.
Grujic heads wide off a cross from Milner
Look like Klopp is going to make a triple substitution
James Tavernier puts Rangers two up vs Galatasary
OH! Another good save by Jay Leno. This time from Grujic
It's a double substitution. Origi for Salah and Joe Gomez Addams for Van Dijck in like for like changes
Another good save by Jay Leno. Nice long ball from Curtis Jones as Jota turned Kolasinac and well turned around
Oh - another great save from Leno - he's really keeping his side in this one. Liverpool really turning the screw now.
Another save as Jay Leno did well to palm away a looping header from Grujic from the edge of the box. headed for the upper 90
Dundalk takes a 3-1 lead vs Klaksvik
Agreed, Bob. Jay Leno has done well to keep the show on the air despite lots of pressure
Macaibbi Haifa pulls it back to 4-2 in a wild one at SFL 2.0
First change for the Gunners as El Neny is on for Caballos
Nico Williams does well to tackle Saka for a corner off a pass from Cedric the Entertainer
WOW ! First Gunners corner of the match. Pepe plays it short to Saka back to Pepe and his great cross is superbly saved close range reflex off a header from Rob Holding
Harry Kane and Abel to score a second Spuds goal, this time from the spot as the Spuds lead 5-2
LASK takes a surprise 1-2 leading at Sporting Lisbon as does CSKA Sofia late at Basel Brush
Harry Wilson booked for holding Back Pepe and the final roll of the dice from Klopp as Wijnaldum is no for Jota
Dundalk has defeated Klaksvik 3-1 as they qualify for the group stages of the EL
I'm off to set up my class, mate - have a great rest of your evening!
LASK takes a 1-3 lead at Sporting Lisbon
Nico Williams tackled for a corner off a one two with Harry Wilson
Corner from Harry Wilson headed away
The Gunners make another substitution and I missed, but thankfully was able to read La Cazette and read that Eddie has been replaced in a like for like swap
A real upset , or at least in my opinion as CSKA Sofia has won 1-3 at Basel Brush
Another upset in the making as LASK IS winning 1-4 at Sporting Lisbon. Former Pool defender , Seb Coates was sent off for Sporting as he presumably was anything but Sporting
Nico Williams straight top Jay Leno from just outside the box. Hard to beat him if you feed him straight lines
Like for like and the final roll of the dice from Arteta as Maitland-Niles is on for Saka
Galatasary pulls it back to 2-1 as it appears to be a dramatic finale at Ibrox
Harry Kane and Abel to score a hat-trick as the Spuds are thrashing Macabbi Haifa 6-2
Cross from Milner cleared by Maitland-Niles for a corner.
The corner from Milner is cleared
A trio of stoppage time minutes
Last 0-0 draw at Anfield between these two was in 1998 as the Gunners wanted a foul on Milner for a late penalty. Cedric the Entertainer talks himself into the book as the ref was not his Friend
Rangers have held on to defeat Galatasary 2-1 to make the group stages of the EL
It finishes 0-0 so this one will be decided by a penalty shootout
First penalty shootout between these two since the Charity Shield on August 29th. It's been a while
Adrian has done well in penalty shootouts in the past while Jay Leno has had a superb match
First up is Milner for Pool. he gives Pool a 1-0 lead, sending Jay Leno the wrong way with a well placed penalty.
It's 1-1 as it's well placed sending Adrian the wrong way. Missed it but read about it in La Cazette
Wijnaldum places it in the upper 90 sending Jay Leno the wrong way 2-1 Pool
Cedric the Entertainer makes it Desmond with a well placed spot kick
