The Festive Footie Continues!
Another day, another slate of interesting Premier League fixtures. They just keep coming. Palace v. Leicester has already kicked off. That's followed at 1pm by Chelsea v. Villa. Finally, there is the late one between Citeh and Everton. I'll have a Leicester win to start things and then two exciting score draws, please. I'm catching up on some work this morning but should be around for the late one. Happy holidays!

Good morning everyone. It's 0-0 at the half at Selhurst Park where the Foxes have been the better team. The highlights were Guaita saving a poor penalty from Ihenacho after James Thomkins tripped Luke Thomas in the box. Also, a deflected Foxes shot came off the bar and Ihenacho shot wide from close range while Palace had one chance when Choudry gifted possession in midfield to Zaha who went on a run , but was held off by Amerty as he was about to shoot and was tackled by Choudry fora corner
GOAL !!!!! palace takers the lead as the foxes got caught on the counter. James Justin gifted possession to Milovojevic deep in the Palace half. He passed to Zaha who went on a long run then passed wide to Townsend and his cross into the box was scored on a powerful volley by Zaha who beat Kasper at his near post
Morning, David - happy to join you in and out today. Not at all happy with that Palace goal. I'm hoping that the Foxes can at least even it up. Palace have leapfrogged Leeds as a result of that goal.
Big news out of Blighty that the late kick-off between Everton and Citeh has been postponed due to COVID problems.
GOAL!!!!HARVEY BARNES TIES IT UP WITH A GREAT FINISH FROM THE D. PALACE TOOK A LONG THROW DEEP IN THEIR HALF THAT WAS HEADED ON BY BENETEKE THEN HEADED BACK BY JONNY EVANS TO BARNES. HE TRUNED TWO DEFENDERS THEN PLACED A SHOT IN THE CORNER FROM THE D
Wahay! Harvey Barnes has leveled it for Leicester in the 83rd minute!
That would mean that Palace are a point below us and with a match more played.
it finishes 1-1 at Selhurst park , which is a good score for Bob. Foxes now second three points behind Pool while Palace is 13th, a point behind Leeds
The final match starts at 12:30 with Chelsea hosting Villa. The winner goes fourth. If it's a draw Villa go fifth and Chelsea sixth
I'd take a draw in this one. Don't like either side.
The team news for the upcoming match:
Chelsea: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Chilwell, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Pulisic, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi. Subs: Arrizabalaga, Thiago Silva, Abraham, Werner, Tomori, Kovacic, Gilmour, Havertz, Emerson Palmieri.
Aston Villa: Martinez, Cash, Hause, Konsa, Targett, Douglas Luiz, McGinn, Traore, Grealish, El Ghazi, Watkins. Subs: Heaton, Taylor, Hourihane, Nakamba, Engels, Guilbert, Elmohamady, Davis, Ramsey.
Referee: Stuart Attwell.
They're off from SB. I want a draw too because if there's a winner then that team moves above United in the table
I think a draw is a realistic scoreline. Chelsea haven't been firing on all cylinders recently.
GOAL!!! OLLY HEADS CHELSEA INTO THE LEAD. The move came down the Chelsea left Chilly All, and Pulisic combined witha cross from Chilly headed in by a stooping Olly. Kate will be pleased, but neither Bob nor the two Daves
Chelsea is one up at the half. Plenty of time for Villa to tie it up
GOAL!!! VILLA TIES IT UP WITH A VOLLEY FROM EL GAZI AS HE CASHED IN FROM A GREAT CROSS FROM MATTY
I'm just checking back in and have noticed that El Ghazi has leveled things at the Bridge for Villa. 1-1 would be a tidy result there.
A poor cross from El Gazi was cleared and it broke to Grealish who passed wide right for Matty Cash to cross and El Gazi with a volley through Mendy's legs. Jorginho with his requisite whining because Christiansen was down during the possession, but Villa were not obligated to put the ball out of play
Absolutely. That would be the best result for all concerned
This is an odd moment. There is a VAR check on a red card for Giroud for a high boot. Meanwhile Frank is desperately trying to get him off the pitch.
VAR check complete and Giroud is allowed to be subbed for Werner. Havertz is also on for the ineffectual Jorginho.
Oh - excellent drive there from Pulisic but Martinez tipped it over nicely.
That's it at Stamford Bridge. Another two dropped points for Chelsea and Frankie Lamps. Both sides end up level on points, on 26 points, with Villa in 5th and Chelsea in 6th. Villa have two matches in hand, though.
I'm off to enjoy the rest of my holiday Monday. Tomorrow is a big day with both of our Uniteds on tap. We're on Peacock at 1pm and then you lot are on NBC at 3pm. Looking forward to it!
It finishes 1-1, which was the score in the other match today as well. Aston Villa now fifth and Chelsea sixth. That's out for today. It's a busy day of fixtures tomorrow. Look forward to chatting tomorrow.
CHEERS!
