Mid-way through this first half, I'm fairly pleased with the way that we're playing. The Spuds goal was quite against the flow of play.
Dave, it goes deeper than Arteta. He's a young and inexperienced manager and he's got a stubborn streak that worries me. All this nonsense playing players out of position and such. And continuing with out of form favorites like Willian disappointed me. He's got very little support because of the internal running of the club which has left him with a squad that's thinner than any other top 5 contender should be. And again, we've not changed the structure of the conditioning of the players so that injuries have been bad again. It could be the wilderness for some time for us.
Phew! Kane ran through there and chipped home. Fortunately, he was off.

Dsve, I think yes, keep Arteta. I don't see the ownership adding enough money to the club to attract anyone better. It's pretty clear that the avaricious Kroenke's have a sell-to-buy policy. And even so, the appalling decision to pay 80-some mill for Pepe, 300k a week for Willian, and 300k a week to the struggling Auba makes that a hard figure to balance.
So many loans are finishing for players like Guendouzi, Kolasinac, AMN, Torreira etc, and I don't see many suitors willing to pay enough to put our transfer balance in the black. In fact, the only loanee I want back is Willock from Newcastle. But Arteta never showed much faith. Hopefully we'll net a tidy sum for him.
