Will We Actually Get to See United Play in the Premier League?
Due to last week's pitch invasion, it's been a couple of weeks since we got to see United play in the Premier League. This morning, their away to Villa, so United fans will have to travel to the Midlands to break things up. United will need to avoid defeat to keep their title hopes alive. After that, there is the vital European hopeful clash between West Ham and Everton. Finally, we round off the day with Arsenal hosting West Brom. Join me for all the fun today, eh?

This morning's match is on Peacock, so I'll be doing double duty with some grading while monitoring on my phone.
The team news out Birmingham:
Aston Villa (4-2-3-1): Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Targett; Douglas Luiz, McGinn; Traoré, Barkley, El Ghazi; Watkins.
Subs: Heaton, Wesley, Nakamba, Elmohamady, Hause, Davis, Ramsey, Philogene-Bidace, Chukwuemeka.
Man Utd (4-2-3-1): Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelöf, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, Pogba; Rashford.
Subs: De Gea, Bailly, Cavani, Mata, Alex Telles, Matic, Williams, van de Beek, Tuanzebe.
Wolves have pulled out a 1-2 win in the early one against Brighton, which means that Brighton are still mathematically in the relegation fight.
We're all set for this one now - United taking this one very seriously, according to OGS and his line-up.
Morning Bob
#2 of United's stretch of matches
Lost to Roma....could have been a lot worse!
Now Villa
Leicester h on Tuesday
Liverpool h on Thursday
put thier feet up on the weekend
Off we go...come on you Zebras!
Come on Man U
Come on Man U
Come on Man U
I would think that he will play a weaker side on Tuesday and then a strong against Liverpool
Of course, they are professionals.... play your strongest line up all the time
Last time United lost at Villa Park
The "you can't win anything with kids" match
Good positive start for United but no goal yet
Morning, Dave - yeah, a bright start from United. I expect them to win, as they usually do against Villa.
Liverpool's win yesterday afternoon just about puts an end to our Europa League dreams, but I'd still like to see just how high in the table we can finish. So, I need United and WBA wins today (sshh...don't tell the Gooner!)
United's fast start has slowed a tad
Mums the word
I think the Arsenal match is on NBC proper
Oh - Greenwood was nearly in there. I thought he'd slide Rash in.
I don't know if I'll be able to watch that one. I'm in the thesis grading crunch this weekend.
Sorry, mate - Traore fires Villa into the lead. No stopping that one.
Bloody hell
Lindeloff kick the ball!!
1-0 Villa
missed a tackle twice
United are only four points ahead of Chelsea!!
Rash gets the ball in the box
NO ONE on the end of it
United do like to come from behind - plenty of time left in this one.
Make that THREE
Obiwan....useless cross
MODERN DAY PLAYERS....CAN'T CROSS THE DAMN BALL
Corner to United....chance gone then
Easily cleared
Good Morning , Bob and Dave. Here to see Villa one up. No customers so far today. May not get any with it bering Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to Kathy and Melanie
Nice one touch passing dfrom United . Comfortable by Martinez from rash
Mason Greenwood goes on a run then his pass is pushed away by a diving Maretines then hoofed away by Ezri Konsa
Morning, David - Happy Mother's Day on back to Elizabeth. Kate's having a chat with her mum right now and of course I'm missing my mum as always on this day.
Ezri Konsa down off what seemed a clash of heads with Bruno off a cross from Mason Greenwood, but holding his knee
Cheers, Bob. I was in on a Mother's Day surprise as Melanie came arrived at 12:30 this morning to surprise my wife and sister-in-law. I was in on it
Happy Mother's Day to your Mother-in -Law. I miss my mum too on this day
Cpndolensces to Dave as Pompey just missed out on a playoff spot, losing 0-1 to Accring Stanley at Fratton Park. Pompey would have pipped Oxford for the last playoff spot with a win today
Villa one up at the half. As things stand Cityeh would be Prem champs today. United haven't lost an away league match in fifteen and a half months and have come from behind ten times in awuy league matches this season, so this one is far from done and dusted
Sorry, guys - this has been disappointing so far. 1-0 Villa at half-time.
That sounds like a great Mother's Day surprise for Elizabeth!
Definitely so. Elizabeth and her sister were really surprised
United have eight wins and a draw when falling behind in away matches this season, so this one is not over
Second half starting up now; when do we see Cavani?
Long range shot from Pogba deflected for a corner
That's a good question, Bob. When he comes on may depend upon the score.
Wolves came from behind to defeat the Seagulls 2-1. Lewis "Slam" Dun k gave the Seagulls a first half lead then he was sent off in the second half with the Seagulls still leading . Seagulls would have clinched safety with a win
I am back from some errands and breakie
PENALTY!!!
Wahay! United have a penalty! Dougy Luiz conceding it.
PENALTY UNITED AS DOUG LUIZ TRIPS AN OFF BALANCE POGBA. STONEWALL PENALTY
Please Bruno.......YES!!!
A stutter step or two but no Panenkas this afternoon. Bruno steps up and slots home!
1-1!
WAY HAY ! BRUNO TIES IT UP FOR UNITED WITH A SPOT KICK , SENDING MARTINEZ THE WRONG WAY
United need to win this... Chelsea are far too close
As things stand Citeh won't clinch the Prem title today
Yes! Greenwood fires United into the lead. What a turnaround. Cavani can sit back down now.
YES!!!!!
GREENWOOD!!!!!
YESSSSS!!!! UNITED NOW L;EAD 1-2 . NICE RTUN BY OBI WAN THEN PASSED TO MASON GREENWOOD, WHO TURNED MOINGS THE MERCIFUL THEN SCORED PAST MARTINEZ AT THE NEAR POST
Citeh.....we are after you!!
United beat Villa, Leicester, Liverpool, Fulham and Wolves
City lose to Newcastle, Brighton and Everton!
I'm just sayin
Ciothe further delayed on their Prem title. They may have to wait until Friday when the play at SJP
Greenwood just behind George and Norman in goals
Dean henderson puishes a header around from Bernie Traore off a pass that was Targetted to him by Matt
United break.... will VAR look for a handball
These guys love controversy
Peter Dreary says VAR checking something on Mason Greenwood. VAR makes some really dumb decisions
Is the check complete?
Ongoing
Also, Peter Dreary is making it really obvious that he wants Citeh to clinch the Prem title today. He needs to shut it
Complete...no pen
The time is pathetic
Never a pen there.
Like QWenger, I didn't see it, the handball by Mason Greenwood that is. Now I do and tere really is little he could have done about it. Would have been a really harsh decision
Iran's coverage just cut to the outside of Villa Park
The woman's leg was showing
Cavani on for Greenwood
Yes, but what if Citeh crack under the pressure? They certainly did yesterday!
Maguire with a yellow card
They give them out these days as if it was Mothers Day...wait...it is!
David....give my regards to your better half
uh oh....Mag's got hurt there... He is really hurting
It could be a knee?
Looks like an ankle
This time of the season... you always worry about the Euros
It doesn't look good for Maguire
Just rest Mags
Wonderful effort from Barkley...it was for the dogs
He comes on...and goes down again
This will just add more time at the end... hate this crap
Harry's got a problem now; get him off and wrap him up in cotton wool for the Euros!
FINALLY we get going again
Chelsea as a club are flying
Men's team in third
FA Cup Finalist
European Cup Finalist
Women's team... about to be League Champs
European Cup Finalists
Still in the FA Cup
United need to score another goal...for my sake
Terrible by Rash
Terrible by Lindeloff
Great by Obiwan
Not a good last few minutes
If United hold on.... guaranteed to finish above Liverpool
Matic coming on...he'll get booked
Back from walks, on breezy , warm , humid morning and still 1-2. If this holds then that will be ten times this season United have come from behind. Their record would be nine wins and a draw
OGS does go too negative near the end of matches
He's going to come on for Bruno.... don't like it
MORE patheticness from Rashford!!
Take the man on!!
Cavani with a shot blocked
HE THEN SCORES!! HE MUST STAY!
Yes! Cavani wraps it up with a tidy bow! What a finish! He is deadly from that range.
3-1!
That looked like a handball from the first shot!
Great run
He's the only one that ever makes that run!!
LOOK WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MAKE THAT RUN
WAY HAY! THOMAS EDISON CAVANI HEADS IN A CROSS FROM RASH TO GIVE UNITED A 1-3 LEAD
Watkins dives...gets a second yellow.... and he's off
No need for a second yellow... so many players go down.... it was a dive but book everyone
A second yellow for Ollie Watkins now and he's off! You won't get that kind of petulant, bad boy behavior from Patrick Bamford, our choir boy center forward. Are you watching, Gareth Southgate?
No need for a second yellow... so many players go down.... it was a dive but book everyone
Villa down to ten men as Ollie Watkins sent off for a second booking for diving. Stupidly, he gives Dean Henderson stick for supposedly tripping him. Barely a tap and the right call
uhhh.....do you remember Bamford's Oscar winning performance last season???
As things stand both our Uniteds on track for a 3-1 win this weekend
Wouldn't it be loverly if the title came down to Championship Sunday again, as the gods would have it?
I know I have been in and out but why half a dozen stoppage time minutes?
I do not recall the incident.
Oh you do
I hope it comes down to title Sunday. Unlikely but hopeful
I'll find the video if you want?
Who was that against? He went down like a sack of potatoes when the ball wasn't in play
United have qualified for the CL.... West Ham can tie us up but 20 goal difference
Pool can't catch us....that's always good
United basically in the CL next season. IO don't see the Hammers winning all their matches , United losing theirs , and there being a twenty goal swing
That's that, then. United with a comprehensive win over Villa in the end. Their away form continues. A busy week ahead of your boys. Should be absorbing.
It's over and another come from behind win on the road for United as they win 1-3 at Villa Park
That's it
United comeback again to win on the road
United can still win the League:)
United in the Champions League
United still undefeated away from home... one more to go for an entire season...a couple away from a record
That's it for me boys
Gotta go be a good hubby for my son's mom!
I'm off to the shower, boys. I'll be in and out the rest of the day while doing some yard work and yet more thesis grading.
It sure is we play every other day between now and Thursday. Next vs the Foxes at OT at high noon Texas time
Cheers, Bob and Dave. Great chatting . I'll be a good hubby too. Should be around Tuesday . CHEERS!
I'm back from a refreshing shower and notice that Everton have taken the lead at the London Stadium through DCL. His 16th goal of the season, one better than Lord Bamford.
Everton are 0-1 up at half-time. This would be a huge loss for West Ham.
The teams are back on for the second half at the London Stadium. Big 45 minutes for both sides.
I'm back after a delicious lunch and Everton are wrapping up a great win for them away to West Ham. It's a poor result from our standpoint, as it virtually assures that Everton, who are currently in 8th, will finish ahead of us. 9th is thus the highest we can possibly get now.
It's even worse for the Hammers who are now odds on to miss out on Champions League footer.
That's a good result for United . Now we're definitely assured of CL footie next season.
The Gunners vs the Baggies kicked off a few minutes ago. A Gunners win will relegate Fat Sam and his Baggies. I believe a Burnley win vs the Cottagers tomorrow will relegate both the Cottagers and Baggies if The Gunners fail to win today
Hiya, David - how is the yard saling going today? It's a dreary old day here; not great for yard sales or yard work.
The gunners take the lead off a lengthy possession that culminated in Willian playing a great Saka player down the left and his cross was volleyed in by Smith-Rowe for his first ever Prem goal. As things stand the Baggies will be relegated today
Gunners now 2-0 up over the woeful Baggies. Not a great result for us but whatever. We're just playing for the fun of it at this point.
Back at the hour mark and Arsenal are still 2-0 up through those goals by Smith-Rowe and Pepe. Can't really see West Brom digging themselves out at this point.
Gulp - the Baggies have got one back through Felipe Pereira, which means that the last fifteen minutes will be less than comfortable for the Gunners.
Ding dong - Fat Sam is down! Well done, the Gunners!
