The North London Derby!
Morning, chaps! I'm settling in to enjoy the North London Derby after a bit of lie-in on a Sunday morning. Despite the league standings, Arsenal v. Spurs is still one of the biggest matches of the domestic season. Both sides have plenty to play for today, in addition to the usual pride. So, I'm hoping for a bright and open match with loads of goals. Who's with me?

Good Morning , Bob. Here to join you for the North London Derby. Thanks for getting us started
Hoping for goals because between the two teams they only have five combined Prem goals this season.
Wolves move up to 13th place thanks to a 0-1 win at St. Mary's . Raul Jimenez with his first Prem goal since October 25th. It Sa did come off a long punt from his keeper then he used strength and skill to get past the two central defenders and score past the stranded McCarthy.
Both sides have had contrasting fortunes this season. Spurs began the season with three wins on the trot, including a big win against Citeh on the first weekend, but have lost their last two.
Arsenal, on the other hand, dropped their first three matches, including an opening weekend loss to newly-promoted Brentford. But they've bounced back with two wins in the last couple of weeks.
At one point, Spurs were top of the league and Arsenal bottom. Ouch! Today, Spurs are 10th and Arsenal 14th.
Morning, David - great to have you on board for the Derby. I'm not happy with that Wolves win, as misery loves company. A Soton win would've been best and even a draw would have been okay.
Today’s starting line-ups look like this:
Arsenal: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Thomas, Smith-Rowe, Odegaard, Xhaka, Saka, Aubameyang. Subs: Leno, Lacazette, Maitland-Niles, Holding, Cedric, Pepe, Tavares, Sambi Lokonga, Martinelli.
Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris, Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon, Ndombele, Hojbjerg, Alli, Lucas Moura, Kane, Son. Subs: Romero, Gil Salvatierra, Emerson, Rodon, Lo Celso, Gollini, Skipp, Davies, Scarlett.
Referee: Craig Pawson.
Thanks, Bob. Glad to join you. I had a feeling you were wanting a Saints win or draw. It wasn't the world's greatest match.
Morning Boys
Good Morning, Dave. Ready for the North London Derby?
Morning, Dave - glad to see you've torn yourself away from the golf for two hours. ;-)
I'm predicting a low scoring match based on both teams starts to the season
Golf doesn't start for another half an hour....plus.....Europe are already toast!!
LOL! Glad to hear it - welcome, mate!
Nice ovation for Jimmy Greaves. Well deserved.
Agreed. Well deserved for Jimmy Greaves
They're off rom the EM
And we're away in the North London Derby. Let's have a party, lads.
Arlo's a bit behind the facts. Because of the earlier win for Wolves, Arsenal are now 14th, with Wolves jumping over them into 13th.
The crowd's behind every Arsenal kick today, as was the crowd at Elland Road. Great to hear the crowds back.
That's typical Arlo A day late and a few Bob short. Glad the AC is drowning out his voice
Definitely great to see the crowds back.
First attempt of tghge match goes to the Spuds and Number One Son drags a shot wide as he was triple teamed
Game started at a decent pace
First real chance falls to Aubama but the flag was raised anyway.
Then A decent near post save by Lloris from Aubama off a nice Gunners move down the left
Coming into this game, the total amount of goals scored by both of these sides is FIVE
Spurs haven't scored any since they started the season with the three 1-0 wins. Not sure if there will be a lot of goals in this match
And they still have outscored the Arsenal
Wow - that's incredible. Leeds have scored five on our own. Of course, we've also conceded 13. Ouch!
GOAL! Smith-Rowe, Arsenal's current goal machine scores his second in two matches!
1-0!
GOAL !!!! THE TWO YOUNG ACADEMY GRADS COMBINE TO GIVE THE GUNNERS THE LEAD. EMIL SMITH-ROWE TAPPED ION A PASS FROM SAKA
The Arsenal crowd loved that!
Now it's 3-3 on season total goals
Well, the Academy kids are about all that Arsenal have going for them right now.
Well worked goal . A long Spuds clearance was headed on by Gabriel like a Sledge Hammer. Odor Guard passed to Smith Rowe, who played a one two with Saka and scored an easy tap in
Spurs have been out scored 7-0 since those three 1-0 wins. On current form, I guess thee Gunners must be favorites
It's Partey time as Thomas nearly put the Gunners two up as he forced Lloris to turn around his shot
Then just over from Aubama
A few weeks ago Spurs were top and the Gunners bottom. The Gunners will overtake the Spuds if they score the next goal. The tables can change rather quickly
Hansi Flick, the German National team manager in attendance. Yesterday he watched the Bees vs Pool, scouting the Bees Vitaly Yanelt, who had an excellent match
Decent near post save by Aaron Ramsdale from Number One Song for a Spuds corner
Corner headed well wide by Tanganga
Not sure Who Flick is scouting since Jay Leno is on the bench
Kane has a bit of a tester there. No goals yet for the England man this season.
Cheers from the Gunners supporters as a shot from Harry Kane from 25 yards out lands in the nosebleed section
I wasn't very wise in picking Harry Kane as GBB is he isn't even Abel to score a solitary goal. I was banking on him moving to Citeh. So much for that
I reckon that Flick is just taking advantage of the Emirates' hospitality. He seems like a member of the Prawn Cocktail crowd.
GOAL! Aubama puts Arsenal two-nil up through a lovely break!
GOAL !!!! AUBAMA PUTS THE GUNNERS TWO UP WIOTH A GREAT FINISH AND THEY MOVE AHEAD OF THE SPUDS IN THE STANDINGS
Lovely interplay between Aubama and Smith-Rowe there.
VAR having a check on the potential foul on the play by Xhaka.
Arsenal are now level with Spurs but behind them on goal difference, largely because of that loss to Citeh.
This time Smith-Rowe was the provider and this time down the left , not the right. It started with a sloppy pass from Ramsdale that Xakha Khan retrieved . Several passes later . It was a one two again as Aubama played a one two with Smith-Rowe then scored with a great finish past Lloris
Actually, the Gunners are up to tenth and move ahead of Spurs on goals scored. They have four to Spurs three, having doubled their season output
Spurs have been out scored 8-0 since those three 1-0 wins. Steve must be loving this
Did anyone in the PPP pick the Spiritly Saint for first to be Vote of Confidence or first to be sacked?
Wow! Saka makes it 3-0!!!!!
GOAL !!! WHAT A SAKA PLAYER AS HE PUITS THE GUNNERS THREE UP WITH A WELL PLACED SHOT ON THE BREAK AFTER HORRIFIC DEFENDING FROM HARRY KANE
I'll have a check, David.
Steve must be amused that the break started as Harry Kane and Abel to fall down comically then several passes later a real Saka player put the Gunners three up
Cheers, Bob. Steve will love this stat. Spurs have been out scored 9-0 since this three 1-0 wins
The Gunners have scored more this match than the rest of the season combined. Seven more without reply and the Gunners will move ahead of the Bees on goals scored
The closest Spurs have come to scoring as Harry JKane and NOT Abel to score as he heads a corner just wide
For once , Steve will agree with Le Socks as he describes the Spuds as disjointed and disconnected. Steve will probably concur
Bukayo Saka is the youngest Englishman to score a league goal against since Stewart Robson at Highbury in April 1984.
WOW! That's a great stat , but makes sense since the Gunners had a lot of foreigners in the team when Arsene was in charge. Smith-Rowe must be pretty close
This Tomiyasu bloke seems like an able replacement for Hector Bellerin.
How is this for a stat? The Gunners have matched spurs season scoring total in one half of footie
A pair of stoppage time minutes
I think he might be better than Bellerin because he seems more solid defensively
The Gunners thrashing the Spuds as they're three up at the half
To answer your earlier question, Red Devil was the only one who plumped for Nuno as the first to receive a Vote of Confidence from his club.
Of course, several people opted for Mikel Arteta but that looks unlikely to happen not after this result.
Half-time - and the Gooners are delirious, heading in 3-0. I'm off to help Kate make a quesadilla lunch.
Sound s like a tasty lunch. Hope you will be around for at least part of the second half
Sounds like Red Devil may be picking up a couple of points
Back on for the second half. Spurs have made two changes, not surprisingly.
Casino Royal on for Tanganga and Delle Sandwiched off the pitch for Skipping Olly as the Spiritly Saint makes a double substitution. Second half underway
How are the Quesedillas coming along. It sounds d like a delicious lunch
Long range shot high and wide as Thomas thinks it's Partey time
Both changes were like for like as the Spiritly Saint was more upset with Delle Sandwich Tangy Gangy than anyone else. He could have picked anyone from about right different players
All Arsenal pressure so far. They're looking for more goals.
Quesadillas are in the griddle heating up as I type. Thanks, mate. We had some leftover taco meat to use up and that seemed like the natural idea. Should be scrumptious.
The Gunners win the ball in midfield and Teramusu has a cross blocked for a Gunners corner
Oh - cleared off the line!
VAR check for a pen.
The Gunners appealing for a penalty as Aubama headed on a cross from Odor Guard and it was cleared off the line. A corner is given
Spurs last in the Prem in shots and distance running. That says it all.
VAR checking on that foul by Ben White on Kane. Nothing doing.
Harry and NOT Abel to win a free kick in the D. Actually just inside the box. Nothing doing
I thought the Spuds had a shot for a penalty there
Odor Guard thinks that stinks as he's called for a foul on N'Dummy.
Long free kick straight to Ramsdale
Great full length diving save by Ramsdalefrom, Harry Kane then the rebound cleared for a corner
Harry Kane and NOT Abel to score . Great long ball from the back and shoots wide with just Ramsdale to beat. Thankfully for him, the offside flag saved him embarrassment
That was a nasty foul as Olly did more than just Skippy into that challenge. Not exactly Partey time for Olly as he's booked
The final roll of the dice from the Spiritly Saint as Bryan Gil on for N'Dummy
Two tangy Spuds taking off, but it won't do them any good
After starting the season with three 1-0 wins, Spurs about to head for three three nil losses in a row
Lloris does well to turn a round a long shot from a great Saka player
I'm back from a rather spicy lunch to enjoy the last quarter of an hour of this encounter.
GOAL! Son pulls one back for the Spuds.
3-1!
GOAL !!! NUMBER ONE SON WITH A CONSOLATION GOAL FOR SPURS AS HE PULLS IT BACK TO 3-1. NICE FINISH
Decent finish by Son but Ramsdale might have done better. He got a hand to it but the force of the ball beat him.
The Buffalo Bills are playing their first home game where all of the punters need to show proof of vaccination. Lots of grumbling among my conservative FB friends about it, but I'm really delighted that the Bills have finally taken that stance.
Xakha Khan was injured off a collision with Lucas Moura in the building up to the goal and is replaced by the young Belgian, Albert Lokonga, who was signed from Anderlecht in the summer
I agree. I don't think Premier League clubs are requiring proof of vaccination, which I wish they did. They don't at Toros matches
It was a marathon possession that led to the Spurs goal and a nice pass from Regulon to Number One Son. Ramsdale got a hand to it, but the force of the shot prevented him from saving a goal
That's a shame but I'm glad that you're enjoying those evenings out.
The Gunners still ahead of Spurs in the table on goals scored. They need to make sure not to let in another goal
Arsenal have noticeably dropped the tempo in the last half hour, which is a shame because they're inviting Spurs onto them.
Cheers, Bob . We beat Jack Collison's Atlanta United reserves 3-2 in a great match, ruined only by poor officiating and ten stoppage time minutes when the only main stoppage was for three minutes when our keeper was down injured and agin for a minute in stoppage time
A deserved standing ovation for a great Saka player and basically like for like asa Maitland-Niles is on for Saka.
Tavares comes on for the goalscorer Saka. Great performance from him today.
The final roll of the dice for Arteta and another new young signing on as young Nuno Tavares, signed from Benefica during the summer, on for Smith-Rowe
Quintet of stoppage time minutes. That's a little lengthy
Lokanga booked for a foul on Bryan Gil
Oh - what a save from Ramsdale! The shot from Lucas was deflected and he did so well to tip it onto the crossbar.
Ramsadale superbly tips a shot from Lucas Moura on to the bar
As things stand this is the first time they will have scored and lost in the Prem this season. Still haven't scored more than once in a Prem match this season
I guess PSurs can look forward to the distraction of the Conference League on Thursday when they host Slovenian side, Mura
The Gunners went three up at the half and held on to defeat Spurs 3-1 and move ahead of Spurs on goals scored up to tenth place
Tomorrow Palace vs the Seagulls at Selhurst Park. If the Seagulls win they go top. I'll be rooting for the Eagles
Arsenal celebrate a historic win against their North London rivals, only blemished by the Son strike. Gooners will be delighted.
A great win. Great chatting with you , enjoy the rest of the weekend , and have a great week.
CHEERS!
Cheerio!
