Dahlgren Derby Time!
It's League Cup 4th Round time and the footie gods have tossed up a Dahlgren Derby with my beloved Leeds United traveling to Steve's Arsenal. Truth be told, the Carabao is a bit of a luxury for us, with our current league situation. So, I'm just hoping, regardless of the outcome, that we give our Academy kids a good run out and that neither sides picks up any injuries.
I'll be teaching throughout the afternoon, so I'll be in and out, but I thought I'd post this thread so that those of you who can watch on ESPN+, can chip in your comments.

Good Afternoon, Bob. Thanks for getting us started
Still 0-0 in all three League Cup matches five minutes before the half. Leeds with the better chances and Coady Drameh with a creditable first team debut at right back for Leeds
Former Leeds loanees , Eddie and Ben White, starting for the Gunners
It's 0-0 at the half at the Em. The best chance was when Jack Harrison forced a good save by Jay Leno
The only LC goal was at SB where Kai the Guy gave Chelsea the lead in the 44th minute . They lead Saints 1-0 at the half
In L! Cambridge is one up at struggling Donny Trump and in L2 Sutton United has come from behind to lead 1-2 at Colchester
Sutton n ow 6th , in a playoff spot, in their debut season in the Football League
Leeds make a change as Adam Forshaw is Kliched off the pitch. Second half is underway
Che Addams ties it up for Saints at SB
Hiya, David - I'm back from my class and joining the match early in the second half. Joe Gelhardt has just been introduced to proceedings.
Terry Cooper getting a shout out for scoring the only goal of the 1968 LC Final between these two teams
Good Afternoon, Bob. How are your classes?
Leeds right back making his first team debut and doing a creditable job
Bugger! Callum Chambers has bundled it over the line to put Arsenal into the lead.
Ben White down for the Gunners. It appears to be pulled muscles
Callum Chambers on for Ben White.
GOAL !!!! CHAMBERS SCORES SECONDS AFTER COMING ON AFTER SOME HEAD TENNIS OFF A CORNER IN THE LEEDS BOX. JUST OVER THE LINE
Sorry, Bob , but congratulations to Steve.
Liam Cooper replacing Diego Llorente now.
Like for like as Mini Copper is driven on the pitch for Diego Llorente
Cedric the Entertainer booked for pulling back Stu Dallas
Still plenty of time to turn this one around.
I've noticed that opponents like to throw on our old boys when they play us. Eddie Nketiah is the former Leeds man involved tonight. Cheeky.
Ben White is another one, but he went off injured, which didn't work out too well
We've been pinned back in our own half ever since I joined the match. Should I leave and come back in again?
Abe Lincoln goes two up at Wigan while Sutton takes a 1-3 lead at Colchester
LOL! Not sure, mate. Leeds were the better team in the first half
Jack has a go from distance - the first chance we've had since I joined. Straight at Leno, though.
Bugger! Our old boy Eddie Nketiah strikes again. He's a League Cup specialist. 2-0.
Terrible defensive header there from Coop.
GOAL !!! EDDIE PUTS THE GUNNERS TWO UP THANKLS TO A SHOCKING BACK PASS
Mini Cooper drove in reverse as he and Kliuch were guilty of back headers off a long goal kick from Jay Leno . Then Eddie chipped Meslier then just got the shot inside the post
Mikel Arteta is looking to the weekend clash with Leicester now. We should be doing the same.
Sorry, Bob. If this is the final score then I guess we can root for Steve the remainder of this competition
Leeds make a double substitution . Sam Greenwood for Rodrigo and Summerville for Dan James. The Gunners counter with their double change as Lokanga is on for El Neny and I didn't see the other change but while reading La Cazette saw that Smith-Rowe was replaced
Nuno Tavares on for Rob Holding
There's the trip to CR on Halloween where Leeds's opponents will be in their Halloween costumes dressed as premier League Footballers
I'd like to see one of the youngsters get at least one chance on goal by the end of this. Make it interesting.
Jack should have made more of that chance. Easy center to Greenwood or Gelhardt.
BUGGER! DONNY TRUMP TIES IT UP VS CAMBRIDGE
MOT!!!!!
Now Greenwood gets to the by-line but merely centers it to Leno.
Still plenty of time to comeback. Is Desmond on his way?
LOL! I don't think so, David - but I appreciate the encouragement.
No problem. I'm trying to find any positives I can think of.
I do like these new blue kits. We may be losing tonight but we're looking sharp while doing it.
I missed the last action but read in La Cazette that the Gunners could have gone three up. Faffing at the back then a missed sitter
Joe Gelhardt must be waiting for stoppage time to get his goal, right?
It's not the traditional royal blue but they do look sharp as long as we don't mention Billy
A Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes
Oh - Summerville was nearly in there, but lost his footing.
Plenty of time for Joe.
He's waiting for something , but what I don't know
The other two LC ties look to be headed to penalties. Chelsea vs Saints 1-1 and QPR vs Black Cats 0-0
Last free kick chance now. Jack tries one and then Joe shows what he can do, jinking past a couple before blasting wide. He is a talent.
Joe Gelhardt slices horribly wide after a powerful volley from Jack Harrison was blocked
That's that - not our night, I'm afraid. I'm off home, mate.
It's over at the EM and the Gunners win 2-0. Sorry, Bob, but congratulations, Steve
Cheers, Bob. Great chatting. sorry for the loss, but enjoy the rest of your day.
