Sunday's Best
Hiya, boys - I'm up a bit late this morning, so I'm joining proceedings a bit late. West Ham and Spurs are currently playing out a sterile 0-0 London Derby in the second half. But I'm hoping for rather better from the big one later one. Man Utd. v. Liverpool - it's still the biggest fixture in the footie calendar by my estimation. And with both sides legitimate title contenders this season, it's got massive stakes.
Join me for the thrills and spills, won't you?

Good Morning, Bob. Thanks for getting us started. The better match is on the Cock. The Foxes one up at the Bees thanks to a wonder strike at the Bees , but the Bees have dominated
A 0-0 draw in the televised match suits the two Daves . Spurs now fourth and the Hammers fifth with the Seagulls down to sixth. United will move up to fourth ahead of those three teams with a win vs their archenemy today , providing this result stands
With this lead the Foxes are up to ninth place , behind United and the Toffees on goal difference
GOAL ! THE BEES DESERVEDLY TIE IT UP VS THE FOXES . A DANISH COMBO FOR THE TEAM MANAGED BY A DANE. AS ZANKA SCORES HIS FIORST FOR THE BEES HEADING IN A QUALITY CORNER FROM MATTY JENSEN
Soyuncu booked for a cynical trip on Sergio Canos
It was a deserved equalizer as the Foxes had scored against the run of play and chose to sit on their lead, hitting win the rare break. It backfired on them
Naughty by Pontus on the Fifth President. He's no stranger to those challenges as Bob may all be too familiar with those from his days at ER
Like for like as Vesty on for Soyuncu. A Dane on against a team with a strong Danish theme
Great keeping by Flappy as Pablo Fornals wins a tackle just outside the Spuds block and then Flappy does well to tip over his deflected shot.
GOAL!!! ANNTONIO SVCOES FROM THE CORNER TO GIVE THE HAMMERS TYHE LEAD. NICE CORNER BUT SPURSY DEFENDING . LUCAS MOURA MISSED HIS HEADER THEN ANONIO BROKE FREE OF HARRY KANE TO VOLLEY IN AT THE NEAR POST
That moves the Hammers up to fourth place and Spurs down to sixth. The Seagulls in fifth place, ahead of Spurs on goal difference
The bees are in tenth place, but would move up to fifth place if they defeat the Foxes
Morning Boys
Line ups announced
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Rashford, Greenwood, Ronaldo.
Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Henderson, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Jota, Salah.
Foxes retake the lead
Mr President
McFred in the midfield
No Pogba
GOAL !!! THE FOXES TAKE A 1-2 LEAD ON A CLASSIC COUNTER. KASPER WITHAA LONG PUNT FROM AS BESS FREE KICK FOUND IHENCAHO, PASSED TO TIELEMANS THEN FOUND DAKA , WHO FOUND A WIDE OPEN FIFTH PRESIDENT WHO TAPPED IN TO A WIDE OPEN GOAL. HE LOOKED OFF , BUT THE REPLAY SHOWED HE WAS NEHIND THE BALL OFF THE PASS FROM DAKA
Good Morning, Dave. Thanks for the lineups. Pogba not starting probably because OGS thinks he risks starting g a passenger if he does start him. You don't know what you get with him
Patson Daka , the Zambian signed from Salzburg starting his Foxes career really well . Scored against United last week, scored four at Spartak Moscow in the EL, and now an assist in this match.
The Evil Blades won 2-3 at Barnsley in a South York Derby. All the goals were in the second half. The Evil Blades went three up and held on for a 2-3 win. Barnsley second from bottom, three points from safety
The Cottagers are one up at Forest thanks to an OG. Cottagers second , five points behind the Cherries, who are managed by their former boss
Ayoze and David Raya down in an all Spanish clash as the keeper did well to block as Ayoze was through on goal. A nasty collision.
As we enter stoppage time in an annoying London Derby each manager makes chan gesticulates to try and ruin Dave's day. A defensive change for the Hammers as Craig Dawson on four Jarred Bowen and and like for like for the Spuds as Steve Berg-Wine on for Lucas Moura
JHJ had a great show at the Corn Exchange last night
They just did their sound check in York
WOW! seven minutes of stoppage time at the Bees Stadium. Not lucky though
It's over in the London Derby as the Hammers have defeated the Spuds 1-0
WOW! Great to read. That must have been the Cambridge. show. A teatime concert in York?
Impressive turn out in LA....why have these bloody wrestlers!
They go on stage at around 7:50
Morning, boys - great to have you on board. I'm just back from a refreshing shower to enjoy the big one.
It's over at the Bees Stadium as the Foxes escape with a 1-2 join despite the Bees dominating.
It looks as if West Ham have wrapped up a drab 1-0 win in the Derby. Antonio on the scoresheet again. Boy, are they a dull side.
Good Morning, Bob. Ready for the big match
That Leicester win suits me, as I need Brentford in the bottom half.
Still several hours till the concert
Both teams in the London Derby are dull . The Spuds aren't any more exciting
The Bees are ion 12th, buzzing around mid table. Foxes ninth behind the Toffees and United on goal difference
Definitely ready for this match. I'm hoping for some goals.
Not sure of we can count on a goal fest if we go by recent history, but hope it's an exciting match
Real one up at Barca in El Classico.David Alaba with the goal. Real tip on goal difference ahead of Sevilla and Real Sociedad, who face Athletico later today. Barca now eighth , three points outside a CL spot
Brentford are the news Leeds this season. I'm just hoping that we won't be this season's WBA.
Shearer is tipping Man Utd today - what do you think, boys?
I am not confident
Ex United man, Howard, goes for Pool
In the match I don't care about at all.... Real Madrid lead 1-0 in Barca just starting the second half
Sorry David....Missed your post
Neither am I . Surely Pool are favorites , especially based on United's recent league form. A come from behind win like we had vs Atlanta would work
No probs, Dave.
We will be moving in seven weeks. Can't believe it.
Out come the Bad Guys
Exciting David
Here comes the Good Guys
Liverpool come into this one third and Man Utd 7th. A win for United would vault them up beyond West Ham on goal difference into fourth, a point behind Liverpool. A win for the Reds wold have them a point off the top in second again.
Let's hear Old Trafford and not LA
I can't believe it - you did that house deal in a shorter time span than it takes for me to choose my trousers for the day.
I don't like United playing so defensivley
We are off
They're off from OT!
COME ON MAN UNITED!
And we're underway - come on, United!
LOL, BOB! It's the market and that we're ready for a change of scenery.
Very ping pongy early doors.
Funny Bob
Come on Man U
Come on Man U
Come on Man U
OT sounds good
Congrats, mate!
I've been there
Oh - early chance for Bruno - but he blazes over. A bit more composure and United would be one up.
Bloody hell Bruno...hit the target
You have indeed. I need to get back to Elland Road one of these days.
Surely that's offside a least a couple of times during the move.
Let's have a VAR check, eh?
Geez!
Rubbish by United!!
WHERE ARE ALL THE DEFENDERS!!!
BUGGER! KEITA GIVERS POOL AN EARLY LEAD AS UNITED WERE TORN TO SHREDS
Sorry, boys - it counts and we've got an early goal for the bad guys. What a match, though, eh?
Oh - Firmino in now and De Gea saved well.
United's defense look like Leeds!
Bruno blows United's early chance and then that
MORE crappy losing the ball in the midfield....another chance!
The midfielders are not good enough to play around with it
AGAIN...almost lost the ball in the midfield
Now a stupid foul by Fred
Nice one touch passing by Pool , but United were ball watching and culminated in Bobby Firmino passing to Salah who found Jeita, who scored with just De Gea to beat
Fred with an atrocious attempt of a pass there and Pool break....United survive...for now
Sorry, boys, but I'm loving this - end to end!
Such a late flag....hate that
Better from United and a long shot from Rash is not too far wide
Oh - not too far away there from Rash.
Rash with a decent effort
Allison had it covered
The problem is that United look like they will concede every time Liverpool go forward
Thanks, Bob. I like the end to end, but don't like United being on the end of this score and the way in which we conceded
The Three Numpties trying to be comedians again
Just watch the football
Both sides look really dangerous going forward.
So bad by United...two defenders bump into each other
Two nil
Bloody hell - Liverpool have another! Jota. Sorry, chaps.
This score puts Pool second , a point behind Chelsea and a point ahead of Citeh. United in second .
Maguire and Shaw were so bad
BUGGER! POOL GOES TWO UP. JOTA WITH THE GOAL
Jota was offside there when the ball was played out wide. Why isn't that called?
VAR checking...it counts
Are VAR just allowing everything today?
United STILL trying to pass around at the back
BLOODY HELL!!
Gave away a throw in
Rash hasn't a clue what to do with the ball in the box
This is NOT GOOD ENOUGH by United!
Two straight games...two nil down in the first half AT HOME
Moire like keystone Kop defending by Shaw and Maguire on what should have been a routine tackle on Keita. He found TAA and his pass was was diverted in by a sliding Jota
Oh - from the corner - McTom had a chance. Couldn't get over it.
I hope United can do what they did in midweek when they came from behind vs Atalanta the day after Elizabeth and I left the Atlanta metro area
Goal kick for United...we go short and lose the ball inside our box
MORONIC!!!!!
Can someone please explain to me why we go short inside our own box from a goal kick when there are about five Pool players right there!!!
WE ARE STILL DOING IT!!!!!
GO FORWARD!!!!
United fans booing United for not getting into the box...GOOD
Not good - I wonder if some fans will leave at half time.
OGS should have the Attacking United DNA.....hate it!
OH! That Shaw wasn't too far wide by Cool hand Luke! Pool restricting United to long range shots
Dixon is wrong....the fans are annoyed that United when sideways and back and didn't get the ball in the box
I wonder if OGS is on borrowed time. He hasn't helped his case in recent weeks. Who would replace him?
"better from United"
Where?
Surely you can get some fancy pants in to replace OGS. You can't have Marcelo!
The crowd are groaning at every mistake, major or minor, which makes such mistakes even more likely.
Milner down for Pool. It looks like Curtis Jones will replace him
At least we had a couple of chances and they haven't scored. I'm looking for any glimmer of hope. Also, hoping that we can do what we did in midweek.
Looks like grandpa Jamie Milner is going off to be replaced by Curtis Jones.
I don't know why OGS is no danger at all
United need to win games!!
This will be ONE POINT out of TWELVE.... add in getting knocked out of the League Cup as well
Lost to Young Boys
Losing to both Villareal and Atalanta at OT before coming back to win both.....very luckily
I think there are 70,000 Dave's in the crowd ,w his would explain the groans in the crowd. Only two are moaning on this blog
United are BORING!!!
Xisco Munoz and Bruce recently sacked, but we need better than that to manage United. SAF to come out of retirement?
Rash fakes it three times...never gets the ball in the box!!!
WHAT'S THE POINT!!
Allison turns around a shot from Greenwood, the Mason
Bloody hell - United's defense is at sixes and sevens.
Hendo with a shot from thirty yards out deflected for a corner after United failed to clear their lines
Can Liverpool match Chelsea's seven.... a possibility
I don't know how DVB can't get a minute...it is not as if players are playing so well to keep him out
I think United's performance is due to McTomain poisoning in the squad.
Nothing is working....change it!!!!
Agreed. I guess OGS has his favorites, but it needs to be based on form
Bloody hell - what was that backpass? Straight to Salah who had a shot from a narrow angle saved by De Gea.
Rashford plays in SALAH!!!!!
Unbelievable !!
You lot need three goals - I'd have Fred off at half time. Pogpants about to come on.
What was going thru Rashford's head.... play a 60 yard back pass!!!
And now Rash is offside. He might need to get the book.
The Cottagers won 0-4 at Forest and are now second, five points behind the Cherries
I want VDB to get a chance
Oh - that's better from United. Great ball over that Robertson just took off Skippy's head.
I agree with Dave that we need to bring on VDB. I would put him on for Fred. I guess Pogba would be another option as he's more attack minded than Fred even though we don't know aghast we're getting with him from one match to the next
That makes sense to me.
Such a lazy pass by Bruno
Real just doubled their lead in the 3 of 7 added minutes
Real go two up at Barca deep in second half stoppage time
Bloody hell - sorry, chaps.
THREE NILL
ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!!
DAMN! SALAH PUTS POOL, THREE UP
Cheers, Bob. I don't see a way back for United . It's our own doing
This is going to be a tough one for OGS to survive.
It's a rotten Sunday afternoon out for Fergie.
It's bloody unbelievable how United isn't up for this match. Pool must have struggler's together fifty passes other than a sloppy clearance from Maguire, and were just ball watching. Salah with a deflected shot that broke to Keita and he diverted in Keita's pass
United can't even stay onside
Jose's last match was a rotten Sunday out against Pool. History repeating itself with OGS? The only difference is that Jose's last match was at Anfield
All three goals were close range tap ins due to ball watching. At least pressure them
I guess Barca got a goal back after the 93rd minute but lost 1-2
Oh - nice run by Rash there. One goal back and who knows?
An LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes
Oh - now Ronaldo was in on goal and Alisson had to save with his feet.
Ronaldo kicks out at Robertson.... handbags now
Oh dear - Ronaldo has kicked out at Davis. Should be a yellow. He'll need to watch his p's and q's.
Ronny gets a yellow
I missed it too. Aguero with the Barca goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time assisted, by U.S. international, Serge Dest
Wish United would show that kind of passion in their play, not just at picking fights
And now Fred's into the book and all. High foot.
Now Fred goes in the book, due to a challenge on Keita. Playing more like Fred Mertz
Keita still down. Will there be seven minutes of stoppage time this half? What would be the point?
Bloody hell - I'm speechless. Salah has a brace.
Four nil... do you leave Salah WIDE OPEN in the box
BLOODY HELL. FOUR UP AT OT. SALAH BEAT DE GEA AT THE NEAR POST
So happy that the fans are booing
IT IS FOUR NIL!!!
And that's half time - boos ringing round the ground, of course. Not sure what OGS can say in the dressing room.
Deserved boos as Pool is four up at the half
Get this wrestler off
Not sure what he says. Could be his last ever halftime speech as United boss. I guess he says thanks for the memories and nice working with you all.
I agree. Seamus the wrestler is really annoying. NBCSN is fixated with him
I guess Liverpool have been good but United have given them all the space in the world!!
Could you imagine if you were a United fan FINALLY getting to Old Trafford for the first time and you get this performance
I was thinking...it can't happen...when United fell behind to Newcastle when I was there!
Glad fans are leaving!!
Players sent back out to the field
Does that mean he made no changes?
NBC misses the the kick off
OGS takes off Greenwood for Pogba
WHY?
Bruno in the book
Back from a trip to the loo for there second half.
Bring in Brucie!!!
I don't understand the change. it wreaks of damage limitation
Am I correct that the last time CR played for United vs Pool at OT that Pool won 1-4?
This isn't Ronaldo's fault
SHUT UP
I'm back at the start of the second half with my turkey sandwich. Hoping for better from your lot than in the first. Can't be any worse.
And it is FIVE
Oh dear - it has gotten worse. Salah with his hat-trick. (sigh)...
BLOODY HELL . POOL FIVE UP . SALAH WITH A HAT-TRICK
United lose the ball in the midfield...goal
United gifted possession and Salah with a nice finish, but given lots of space
If I was Liverpool...I would try and score ten
Fergie's really upset.
United still seventh, but only ahead of the Toffees on goals scored and a goal difference only one better than the Foxes
Ronaldo scores....United to win 6-5
GOAL! Ronny pulls one back - great effort!
I don't blame SAF. I'm wondering Pool will score ten. You n ever know
The comeback on?
I would luv it!
It is offside
Oh dear - it's chalked off for offside. Sorry - this is just not going well.
Will that be a red? ....He got the ball
Now Slaphead picks up a yellow for clipping Jota on the edge of the box.
A shame about the goal being disallowed. CR barely offside. It's been on e of those days
Salah into the wall
Don't' like the flying camera
Salah bashes one into the wall and it's cleared for a corner.
Last player to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford against Man U....18 years ago.... the original Ronaldo
