Sunday in the Prem
It's a real pleasure having the Premiership back after the interminable international break. This morning, we kick off with Everton v. West Ham. Then we wrap up with perhaps the match of the weekend, Stevie Bruce's Newcastle, which just announced new Saudi ownership against a faltering Spurs side. Something's going to have to give and it will be fascinating to watch it play out. Join me?

We're underway at Goodison - here are the teams:
Everton (a 4-2-3-1 that might look like a 4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Godfrey, Digne; Allan, Doucoure; Iwobi, Gray, Townsend, Rondon. Subs: Begovic, Tyrer, Kenny, Holgate, Mina, Gordon, Gbamin, Davies, Dobbin.
West Ham United (a robust 4-3-3): Fabianski; Johnson, Zouma, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Soucek, Rice, Fornals; Benrahma, Bowen, Antonio. Subs: Areola, Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Vlasic, Dawson, Diop, Masuaku, Ashby, Baptiste.
Good morning Bob. Here to join you for the Sunday matches.
As we kick off Everton are 6th and West Ham 10th.
I will be rooting for the Hammers today. How about you?
Morning, David - how's your weekend been so far?
According to my rubric, this one's a draw. I'm mostly saving my mojo for the later match, where I need a Spurs win. I feel for Brucey, who seems a nice guy, but I need Newcastle in the bottom three.
Morning Boys
Not sure how much I am going to be around today
I have to take our walk and have a lot of jobs to do around the house
Speaking of house...what is your time frame for your house David?
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Doing well, thank you for asking
Our house closes on December 17th, so we will be moving in around that time. Falls right on my birthday
Congrats again
Antonio booked for a dive and righly so as Michael Keane never touched him
Where is the house again? I know it is right in the southwest corner of NC
Morning, Dave - great to have you on board.
Sounds like a great birthday present, David. Well in!
West Ham have looked like the home side so far - doing most of the pressing.
It's in Hayesville, NC , which is in the southwest corner of North Carolina
Thanks Dave. Greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob. It does feel like a birthday present
Close to a lot of states!!
Correct. We're ten minutes from the Georgia state line. Also close to Tennessee and South Carolina.
Will you have some changes in weather?
I'm betting that you're going to enjoy some delicious BBQ down there, David.
West Ham well on top here
The Goodison faithful is starting to get frustrated with their lot today. Everton haven't really got going.
Yes we will. I was a tad Chilly on walk. It was in the 40s. The winters there are much cooler. Lows are usually in the 20s and highs in the 40s in the winter. It usually snows a couple times per winter
We sampled the BBQ .IT'S delicious
I'm surprised to see the Hammers dominating and completely understand the home fans being frustrated
Will you be happy with the change of seasons?
I think I'd miss the changes!
The winter just lasts too long up here
You're going to have a more temperate climate, with cooler winters but not so much snow and slightly cooler summers than you're used to but still warm and a lot more humid.
I'm with you, Dave - I love the seasons up here, especially the fall, although it's been rainy this weekend.
We will look forward to the more tolerable Summers. Average highs are in the 80s and not as humid. The winter will be a bit of an adjustment
You'll need to get yourself a rake!
I am sure you two are still annoyed about yesterday...as I am
Will you be close to Savannah? That's a nice town to visit.
We Fortunately we have rakes. Most of the raking in South Texas is in December and January, but now is the peak period where we are moving
West Ham with a great move.... they score but the flag is up
Soucek roofs one but he's been flagged offside. Great save from Pickers.
Soucek with a goal disallowed for offside off a nice one two after he put away a rebound off a Pickford save
Modern Day corner never beats the first man
Next one is much better followed by two blocked shots
Fonals hits one wide...Pickers was flat footed
Well wide...useless effort!
0-0 at half-time. I'm off to the shower.
Back for the second half
Still 0-0 .As long as the Tofffes don't win that suits us
I'm back from the shower and see that it's still scoreless. That suits me and my rubric.
GOAL! Ogbonna heads in a corner to give the Hammers a deserved lead
Welcome back Bob.This score suits the two Daves
The Hammers now sixth ahead of the Tofffes on goal difference
So far it's a Happy return to Goodison for Davie Moyes
Ben Godfrey heads just over from a corner
I'm sure it does, David. I'm alright with it, too, although a draw would have been preferable.
I missed your Savanah question. We will be just under six hours from there
West Ham have been good for this win, that's for sure. They've been on the front foot right from the off.
Hmmm...that's not as close as I'd have imagined. I'll have to consult my map again.
Pickford does well to turn around a shot from Jarred Bowen off a Pass from Antonio
We will be up in the mountains almost in Tennessee and Georgia
Last chance saloon for Everton now with a late, late corner.
It's over and the Hammers win 0-1 at Goodison Park
That's that - West Ham pull out a really good win at Everton today, which elevates them to sixth, one spot behind United and one spot above Everton. Very packed in that area.
Next it's the Toon vs the Spuds. The Toon are third from bottom, but are now under new Saudi ownership. It looks like they could become the next Citeh
Next up is the big one - Brucey's last stand. Newcastle became the richest club in the world this week and Steve Bruce would seem not to fit that new profile.
I am back from the store and a dog walk.
I am going to leave soon for our 2 miler as well! I told you I would be in and out!
I feel bad for Bruce....He's has done fine.
This is in 1000th game as a manager
Kathy just offered to give me a haircut
I'll be back
Spurs playing in Newcastle as their stadium is busy hosting an NFL game. That is why Arsenal host Palace tomorrow
Makes no sense why Arsenal then play on Friday night
Kathy is calling
TTFN

Cheers Dave.Great chatting. Agreed with you about Brucey. Enjoy the rest of the day
I've just had a haircut myself - part of my Sunday morning routine.
Spurs wearing a real purple monstrosity today - I feel sorry for Harry Kane having to sport that.
I was thinking the same, Bob. Bruce will be replaced by a high profile manager who can attract high profile players. It reminds me of the takeover at Citeh. The Toon will become the same type of club
No haircut for me. I'm a tad scraggly
And we're away - come on, you Spurs!
They're off from SJP
Agreed. Horrible Spurs kit
What an atmosphere in SJP today!
Oh my! Callum Wilson has turned in an opening goal in two minutes!
My beloved Leeds are in the dropzone once again.
GOAL! Cally Wilson gives the Toon an early lead
The new Saudi owners are loving it!
More bad news for Spurs - Romero is down holding his ankle.
Nice Toon move and Cally Wilson headed in a cross from Manquillo . Dream for the new ownership
Sorry, Bob. The Toon just above Leeds by the slightest of goal difference
The SJP crowd is buoying their side right now. Great noise!
Electric atmosphere at SJP
Now it's Ndombele who is down clutching his leg. The Newcastle players have been snapping into the challenges early on and Marriner has been allowing it.
The Spurs players sem overwhelmed by the atmosphere
Will Harry Kane and Abel to break his scoring duck? Bob you must be thinking now is as good a time as any
A slight lull in the action now. Spurs are just edging themselves back into the contest.
It's absolutely time for HK to break his duck for the season. Now is the time!
Nice move there from Spurs but what on earth was that cross from Lucas Moura?!
Yes! Ndombele nets the equalizer for the Spuds. Well in, mate!
1-1!
GOAL! NDUMMY TIES IT UP WITH A TANGY FINISH FROM REGULAR OFF A PASS FROM NUMBER ONE SON!
Congratulations, Bob.Toon back in the drop zone and Leeds out
Wahay! Kane has it in the net! Unfortunately, he's just a shade offsides. But this is much better from Spurs.
VAR check on this one now. It's tight.
Harry Kane and NOT Abel to score as he chips Karl Darlow but it's disallowed
Yes! It is Harry Kane's first goal of the season! Well done, mate - Spurs are 1-2 up!
Lovely finish from the England captain there and he's off and running for the season.
GOAL! It's a goal after a VAR check. Spurs now lead 1-2
The table look much more satisfactory now. Much.
Spurs away fans are singing, "You're not singing any more!" to the Toon Army.
Spurs up to fifth place moving United down to sixth. Toon second from bottom
Not sure if Steve is pleased. He must see this as an Evil fixture
LOL BOB! They must love to see the home fans quiet
Oh - great corner over there and nearly a third for Spurs. They're overrunning Newcastle now.
This might be Bruce's last match as Toon manager. The score not helping his cause
I'm sure he does, but he'll understand my stance, too. He'd feel the same way if Arsenal were in our position. The bottom line is that we need four or five clubs to be worse than us this season. I reckon that that's Norwich, Burnley Watford, Newcastle, and perhaps Brighton or Soton.
It is likely to be; they've already indicated an interest in one of the Bundesliga managers.
Spurs' fight back has really quietened down the crowd. One more goal for the Spuds and the Toon Army might actually boo the players off at half-time.
Oh - off the bar now! Spurs so close to a third goal!
Another corner now for Spurs - Newcastle are all over the place now.
OH! No Mours goals from the corner from Number one Son as the header from Lucad crashed off the bar
What's going on now? Some problem in the stands perhaps. Or something thrown onto the pitch?
Yes - a deflibrator has been taken on and the players are coming off.
I agree, Bob. I think Canaries, Toon, and Burnley will be fighting relegation. The Seagulls currently 4th should be safe as well as Saints. I expect the Hornets to struggle too
Sadly a supporter has gone into cardiac. Arrest
Hopefully the medical staff will able to help him
The game has been suspended and the players are off to the dressing room
Credit to Erik Dier and Oliver Skipp for alerting medical staff after being informed by fans
When play resumes there will be seven minutes to play then another break for halftime
Play has resumed as the supporter has been stabilized. Great news. Seven minutes of stoppage time
GOAL! NU.BRR ONE SON SCORES WITH A TAP IN TO MAKE IT 1-3 SPURS. NICE SKILL BY LUCSS MOURA TO FINGD HARRY KANE AND HIS PASS WAS TAPPED IN BY NUMBER ONE SON
Just wide by St. Max as he cut in a d curled a shot Just wide
Casino Royal down injured for Spurs and now Spurs players irate as the Toon played on. Finally stopped, but the Toon years weren't obligated to stop
Now it's halftime and after a dream start for the Toon it's gone horribly wrong as the Spuds lead 1-3
I'm back from a delicious lunch to enjoy the second half. Good to hear that the fan has been resuscitated and is on the way to the hospital.
I'm also delighted to see that Son added a third goal right before that delayed half-time interval. Hard to see Newcastle coming back now.
Newcastle are now down to 19th on inferior goal difference to Burnley. Newcastle have the worst defensive record in the league, having conceded 19.
The match is wide open now, with Ndombele striding forward to have another pop. Spurs could easily get a hatful here.
I'm back from lunch too. I agree that this is pretty much done and dusted. What did you have for lunch?
Stephen Warnock mentioned that the new ownership wants the manager of Ajax to replace Brucey . He will be fighting a relegation battle and can't sign any new players until January.
You have to wonder how many of these players would remain at the club under the new ownership. Newcastle have the profile of a bottom half Premier League club right now - or perhaps even a top half Championship club. It's hard to imagine them as title challengers.
My guess would be that Karl Darlow might stay as the second banana in goal, Lascelles might be retained at the back and perhaps St. Max up front. All the rest would have to go.
I can see them going down this season and then rebuilding over the summer for a Championship promotion campaign.
That's it for Jonjo Shelvy - he's off for two yellow card offenses after hacking down Regulon.
Newcastle down to ten men. Bad to worse.
Well, well, well - Eric Dier has gifted Newcastle a second goal!
That sets up a grandstand finish now.
Spurs really should have been out of sight at this point.
Spurs just passing it about now to kill off the clock.
Well, that was fascinating. Given the incredible atmosphere at the beginning of the match, it was somewhat inevitable that Newcastle would score first and early, just based on sheer adrenaline. But then Spurs' quality killed off the match by half time. They took the foot off the gas just long enough to allow Newcastle back into it. In the end, it was too much to ask.
Lovely jubbly - Newcastle have dropped to 19th. Steve Bruce walks off into the sunset and will likely be sacked this afternoon. Spurs jump up above United into 5th.
That's it for me, chaps - cheerio!
Sorry for leaving but I received a phone call but saw that Spurs ran out 2-3 winners
