'Tis the Season for...Footie!
Morning, chaps - I'm getting to the footer a bit late after a bit of a holiday lie-in. Believe it or not, we do have some fixtures on offer today, starting with Man City's trip to St. James' Park. Of course, I'm hopingthat the Citizens rack up a cricket score against the Magpies. At the same time, Wolves are hosting Chelsea. That's followed by Spurs v. Liverpool at 11:30am.
I'll be in and out a bit today doing some packing for the trip to Virginia. Join me if you're about.

Good morning Bob. I woke up about 45 minutes ago. Thanks for getting us started.
Still no telly in the house and the NBC app is virtually impossible to load on the phone
The Portuguese Men of War defenders have put Citeh two up at SJP. Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo with the goals. Good news for you and for me in the PPP.
Morning, David - it seems as if it's just us this morning. Dave is busy today.
I'm really delighted by the scoreline so far but I want more goals from the Citizens. Newcastle are now at -21 GD, while my beloved Leeds are at -18 GD.
Newcastle probably should have had a penalty as Ederson cleaned out Ryan Fraser. Fortunately, the referee waved on.
Still 0-0 at Molineaux shortly before halftime. Chelsea starting to lose pace with the league leaders
Ederson might due a decent job as a linebacker for the Bills with his size and style of play
Spurs players must have cleared their ten day quarantine and be over Omnicron. By the new year scheduled matches should be back to normal, I'm guessing
Good morning Bob. Great to have you on board
Half time at SJP. Over to Molineux where Chelsea are making heavy weather with Wolves. Off to the shower.
Citeh two up at the half. Still a couple of stoppage time minutes to play at Molineaux
It's 0-0 at the half at Molineaux . Danny Podence had a goal disallowed for offside for Wolves due to offside on Jimenez who missed his kick before Podence had the ball in the back of the net
Back at the hour mark - still 0-2. I'm a bit disappointed. Come on, the Citizens!
Mahrez nets but it's ruled offside.
Oh lovely - I went away to unpack the dishwasher and I've come back and the Mahrez goal stands.
0-3. Newcastle's GD now down to -22. Let's have four more, eh?
Chelsea are still being held by Wolves at Molineux.
Back from a walk to read that Mahrez has put Citeh three up. That negates yesterday's result
I just checked and you will be seven hours away from us when you are in Richmond
Both teams are probably ready for the final whistle
Lovely! Raheem Sterling adds a fourth now and Newcastle are down to -23 GD.
Yeah - we'll be six hours away when in Petersburg visiting Kate's mum.
Only a pair of stoppage time minutes.
Toon still ahead of the Canaries on goal difference
Over at SJP. Citeh have won 0-4. Good news for Leeds and also for Yours Truly in the PPP.
A trio of stoppage time minutes at Molineaux. Still 0-0.
At Hampden Park Hibs vs Celtic is 0-0 at the half in the Scots LC Final
Wolves and Chelsea are still playing in stoppage time. Chelsea are trying to find that elusive late goal. Rearguard action from Wolves in the fog.
Chelsea continue to struggle to keep up with their title rivals. Good point for Wolves who consolidate their position in mid-table.
It's over at Molineaux and the final score there is 0-0.
Wolves in 8th place behind the Spuds on goals scored. If Pool win then Wolves move up to seventh place.
Next up is that match at Shite Fart Lane. Plenty of notable team news, as you’d expect in these peculiar times. Dele Alli gets a rare start, one of five changes from the 3-0 win over Norwich a fortnight ago. Meanwhile, Liverpool are without their entire first-choice midfield, so the teenager Tyler Morton gets his first Premier League start.
Yeah - Wolves are beyond my concern at this point. I'm focusing on the teams from Brentford on down. My head tells me that Watford, Newcastle and Norwich are favorites for relegation. Sean Dyche just has a knack of surviving, so I figure Burnley will just pick up enough points here or there.
Just above, Soton, Brentford, Brighton and even Palace and Brighton will keep us company in that thicket of sides looking over their shoulder at relegation.
The team news out of Shite Fart:
Spurs (possible 5-3-2) Lloris; Royal, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Sessegnon; Ndombele, Winks, Alli; Kane, Son.
Substitutes: Austin, Rodon, Tanganga, Doherty, Reguilon, Skipp, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Lucas.
Liverpool (4-3-3) Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson; Morton, Milner, Keita; Salah, Jota, Mane.
Substitutes: Kelleher, Firmino, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Tsimikas, Gordon, N Williams, Quansah.
Referee Paul Tierney.
It's 1-1 in the Scots LC Final.Hibs took the lead then Celtic tied it up a minute later
I think the Canaries and Toon going down with either Hornets, Saints, or Burnley third from bottom
Teams are out on the pitch at Shite Fart and we're about to get started. I assume that this one will be a Liverpool win but I'm basically neutral on this one. Neither side are really Leeds rivals.
The Peacock app won't open so still following text updates
I'm now out on the deck on a cool, damp , overcast morning.
Sorry that Peacock isn't working for you this morning. I'll try to keep you abreast of the goings-on at Shite Fart. Sounds like you're making the most of your new surroundings.
Interesting news from a U.S. point of view . U.S. international, Jordan Pefok, with a Barber Shop Quartet of goals as Young Boys won 0-5 at Lugano
Thanks, Bob I'm following on FOTMOB and love the new surroundings.
We will be in Greenville, SC for Christmas. One of Elizabeth's cousins is hosting
Celtic lead Hibs 2-1 with about ten minutes remaining in the Scots LC Final. Japanese international, Furuhashi, with both Celtic goals
Sorry in sixth place, moving United down to seventh place
Still way behind the Hammers on goal difference
Well, that wasn't in the script - Harry Kane has rattled one in for Spuds in the 13th minute!
Back from a walk to see it's 1-1 at the half. Jota with the goal for Pool.
Spuds back to seventh place and United back in sixth place
Pool three points behind Citeh in second place
Celtic has defeated Hibs 2-1 in the Scots LC Final. First piece of silverware for their Aussie manager.
Still 1-1 in what FOTMOB describes as an end to end match
Now Desmond at SFL 2.0. Andy Robertson gave Pool a 1-2 leaf then Number One Son tied it up five minutes later.
Pool playing with ten men as Andy Robertson was booked for a foul on Casino Royal but after a VAR review Paul Tierney changed it to a Red Card. According Harry Kane and Abel to avoid a red card for a similar foul in the first half.
Into half a dozen stoppage time minutes.
It finishes Desmond which a decent point for Pool as they played with ten men for twenty minutes. Pool remains second but now three points behind Citeh. Spurs remains seventh, a point behind United and two points behind the Hammers.
That's it for me. Not sure if anyone will be around for the LC quarters. If not then have a great qeek ahead of the Boxing Day matches. CHEERS!
A 2-2 draw at Shite Fart suits me just fine, but Jurgen Klopp won't be happy.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, David. We'll be on the road to Virginia early in the morning.
Cheerio!
