Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Loads of narratives this evening. Antonio Conte returns to his old stomping ground. Romelu Lukaku returns after apologizing for Interviewgate. Spurs continue their search for a first trophy in 14 years. Chelsea continue their search for a first trophy in seven months. Chelsea and Spurs are London rivals who don’t like each other very much.
We're away at the Bridge - here are the teams on display:
Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Sarr, Rudiger, Alonso, Saul, Jorginho, Ziyech, Havertz, Mount, Lukaku.
Subs: Kovacic, Pulisic, Werner, Loftus-Cheek, Bettinelli, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi, Vale, Hall.
Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris, Tanganga, Sanchez, Davies, Emerson, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Doherty, Lucas Moura, Kane, Son.
Subs: Reguilon, Winks, Gil Salvatierra, Rodon, Lo Celso, Alli, Gollini, Ndombele, Austin.
Referee: Craig Pawson (South Yorkshire).
Free kick for Chelsea out on the right. Mount takes, but whips it over the head of every single player in the box. A fast start by the hosts, though.
GOAL! Kai Havertz fires home and the Blues are 1-0 up inside five minutes!
A defensive error by Davison Sanchez allowed Alonso to nip in and slide in Havertz who's near post effort was deflected in.
1-0!
Havertz is down after scoring needing some treatment.
Havertz has apparently broken his finger but he's continuing for the time being.
Kane tries to get something going for Spurs, but is quickly surrounded by blue shirts and stripped of possession. Nothing going right for the visitors in these early exchanges.
Oh - the ball bobbled around in the Spurs area and Havertz nearly beat Lloris at the near post again! Didn't hit it cleanly.
Good Afternoon, Bob. Here to join you. I just read that Kai the Guy scored
Oh - Havertz had a chance to cross but totally overcooked it well over Lukaku's head.
Afternoon, David - how's your day been?
Oh - Ziyech with an effort from just outside the box. Not too far away.
I'm watching on Mt phone soI will comment intermittently
A slight lull. Spurs will take it. They’ve been run ragged so far.
Kane nearly releases Doherty down the left with a raking diagonal pass. Ziyech, momentarily caught out of position, picks up his legs and intercepts just in time. For a second, Spurs had a sniff.
Just to ruin Dave's afternoon, here's the possession stat: 81% Chelsea.
Jorginho swings in from the right. Lukaku hopes to head goalwards, but Lloris comes out and punches clear. Not the most convincing clearance, but it does the job.
Just saw Chelsea go two up in comical fashion. OG by Tanganga headed to him by teammate, Ben Davies off a Chelsea free kick
Oh dear - Spurs are 2-0 down thanks to a hilarious own goal by Ben Davies!
Ziyech swings it in. Tanganga, on the six yard line, sends a header across the face of goal. The ball pings off the unwitting Davies and into the top right. What a fiasco.
It's been a fairly good day, thank you for asking. Scheduled an electrician, handyman, and a person to service the gas fire place. Also got a few things at the hardware store
Nice Chelsea possession. Cross from Ziye h headed wide by less than a Chunk
Kai Havertz has finally had enough - he's off with Timo Werner off.
Sounds like you're keeping busy.
I saw that the other LC semi tomorrow is postponed due to COVID in the Liverpool squad
Yes been keeping busy with the move in. Our realtor loaned is some space heaters because the low will be fifteen tomorrow night and 20 the following night. We're no longer in South Texas
Spurs can Conte on the hairdryer treatment at the half and snickering from Steve
Chelsea two up at the half.
HALF TIME: Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs have only won once in their last 35 visits to Stamford Bridge. They’ve got a job on if they’re to make it two in 36. Chelsea are in complete control.
Chelsea get the second half underway. They’ve replaced Havertz with Werner, while Spurs have changed to four at the back, replacing Doherty with Ndombele.
This is probably Spurs' best chance of silverware this season, so Conte will want them to pull their fingers out.
Early free kick chance now for Spurs - Captain Kane over it.
Good strike by Kane turned away by Kepa.
The match has stretched out a bit now, with a Chelsea attack that finds Ziyech with a shooting chance that Lloris smothers.
Oh - Werner with a curling shot that just didn't curl enough.
Mohammad Sarr picks up a yellow card for a nasty one on Harry Kane.
Unfortunately for Spurs, that next goal looks much more likely to be scored by Chelsea.
Midway through the second half. Still 2-0 to Chelsea
Close range volley by Ziyech over by more than a Chunk
Christian Pulisic comes on for the ineffectual Ziyech.
Spurs make two more changes - Son and Moura off.
Mohammad Sarr lunges in again - he's already on a yellow and could easily have gone for that.
Free kick from Lo Celso hi by Tanganga. Headed well over
Ben Davies fouls Pulisic just outside the Spuds box
Alonso lining up a free kick now.
Oh - decent chance there for Spurs. Ndobmbele should have probably scored.
Chance for Spurs. Bryan Hill went past Pulisic then passed to a teammate whose close range shot was well blocked by the Chelsea Kepa
N' Tumble HAY with the chance
A Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes
Azpilicueta trudges off to be replaced by one of the Chelsea kids Harvey Vale.
Oh - Lukaku should have sealed the match there. On the turn he put it straight at Lloris.
So, Chelsea take a 2-0 lead into the second leg at Shite Fart Lane.
It's over at SB and Chelsea two up at the end 0f the first leg of the LC Semi.
That's it for me this evening - I'll look for you again tomorrow afternoon when Liverpool face off against the Arsenal.
Enjoy the rest of your day. Cheerio!
Great chatting with you. We're off to the Hayesville Brewery for dinner. Enjoy the rest of the day. CHEERS!
