Sunday in the Prem
I'm just getting into my usual perch to enjoy the morning's action after our usual late night Saturday routine. I've chosen Arsenal v. Burnley on USA to watch but there is also Crystal Palace v. Liverpool and Leicester v. Brighton going on on The Cock if you'd prefer.
Later on, there is a tasty sounding London Derby between Chelsea and Tottenham to enjoy. Let's be having ya, eh?

Good Morning, Bob. Up to join you on a chilly morning compared to what I'm used to. Watching Palace vs Pool on the computer and Gunners vs Burnley on the telly
Pool one up thanks tho a header from Van Dyjck off a corner . Pool completely dominant
Ramsey unusual;lly misjudges a corner and thankfully for the Gunners Matty Vyudra shoots over from a couple of yards out
OH! I smelled a chance for the Gunners and a great kick save by Nick Pope from Odor Guard then I missed the rebound , but read in La Cazette that thew rebound was well blocked
Morning, David - thanks for joining me.
rare chance for Palace and aMateta with a shot blocked by allison with just the keeper to beat off a pass from Joe ward. Borth flagged offside
Morning Boys
Sorry I have been a miss lately
I have the Arsenal match on the telly and listening to Palace Liverpool on 5Live
You're welcome . Glad to enjoy the pleasure of your company on a chilly morning by our standards,. Sure it's chilly in WNY
Good Morning, Dave. I'm doing the same as you except I'm watching the Palace match on the computer
Bob, I know who you want to win at the Em...for your sake and your brother
I would like a draw...don't want Arsenal to knock United out of fourth
Fabinho anything but Fab as he side foots a shot well over to ruin a nice passing possession
I agree, Dave. I would lim e a draw or a bUrnley win even though I like the Gun nets better than Burnley
With Max Cornonet away on ACN duty and Chris wood sold to the Toon , Ben Mea the top scorer available with two Prem goals this season. That tells you everything
Nasty by Josh Brownhill on Ben White and not even a card
Morning, Dave - how's your weekend been?
Gotta go on a quick errand
I'll be back
Another cynical foul by Josh Brownhill and this time booked and about time
Cheers, Dave. Enjoy
Yeah, I'm obviously hopeful that Arsenal can do us a favor here with Burnley today. They do have a lot of matches in hand on us.
Due toi an accumulation of bookings , Josh Brownhill wlll be suspended for the relegation six pointer vs the Hornets after the break
Ashley Westwood getting close to a second yellow now.
Also, Max Coronet will be available once the break is over as surely the ACN should be over by then . The Round of sixteen starts today
GOAL ! THE OX PUTS POOL TWO UP. NICE ON E TOUCH PASSING AND A NICE CROSS FROM ANDY ROBERTSON AND WELL FINISHED AT THE FAR POST BY THE OX
Pool nine pints behind Citeh with a game in hand. That draw really helped them yesterday
That'll be a right old relegation ding dong.
Liverpool are picking up some points this weekend.
The big match today is the late one. Chelsea vs the Spuds is a return to SB for Conte who was knocked out of the LC by his former club. I'm going for a draw or a Chelsea win
OH! palace nearly scored. With Just Alison two beat Mike Olise shot right at Alison then the rebound blocked by Van Dijck. It started with a poor back pass by Matip
Another missed chance for Palace . Mike Olise picked up a loose pass in midfield and doodad well to put through Mateta . He rounded Alison then shot wide of an open goal, albeit from a slightly narrow angle
I am back as I see Pool two up
A duet of stoppage time minutes at the EM
Oh - Saka with a decent chance to open the scoring. Didn't quite curl enough.
A minute of stoppage time at Selhurst park
Welcome back, Dave. Palace missed two sitters while you were gone. One because I think one was flagged offside
Buffalo all ready for the NFL today?
If they win, they host next week!
Pool two up at the half at Selhurst Park. It's 0-0 at the half at the EM
Foxes vs Seagulls is 0-0 at the half
Half-time: Disappointed that the Arsenal aren't 8-0 up by now. GRRR!
So far United the only home team to win in the Prem in this weekend thanks to a goal scored in Fergie time
It's all anyone is talking about out this way. I may actually actually watch it - and I hate football!
I like most sports. The only one I don't watch is the NBA
Dave, you can tell Kathy that I replenished our banana supply last night - we've got 10 bananas in now.
Tim Howard is hopeless with his comments
I will... I am sure she will add more today!
Does your USA picture pause once in a while
I just missed Liverpool's first goal
They are off on 5Live at Selhurst
Palace goes close
Second half underway at the EM and at Selhurst Park
Glancing heard by Gallagher
Leicester take the lead at the King Power
That's another good Palace chance . Mateta had two good chances in the first half
sounds like Peacock is about thirty seconds behind , as usual
Palace go close again... a back heal saved by Allison
Oops...sorry
I'm back for the second half now - come on, you Gunners!
OH! Another Palace chance . Cross from Olise headed down then a tame close range shot by Odd Eddie saved by Alison
Come on draw!!
The Foxes took the lead against the Seagulls
Then A free header for Connor Gallagher and he heads wide with just Alison to beat
Patson Daka with the Foxes goal in the first minute of the second half
Just because City drew yesterday, I dont' think the title race is back on
I do think that Chelsea may fall back to make it race for 3rd and 4th
Just wide by Hendo. Nice one touch Pool passing
Something just happened....at SP
Ramsdale forced to turn around a cross from McNeil that may have crept inside the near post
Thanks , Dave.
GOAL ! PALACE PULLS ONE BACK. SCHLUPP WEON THE BALL IN MIDFIELD. PASSED WIDE RIGHT TO MATETA AND PASSED TO ODD SON EDDIE FOR AN EASY TAP IN
The scores suit me so far, apart from this one. The Gunners are really disappointing me today.
In terms of the title race back on definitely not for Chelsea. If Pool win and win their game in hand then they are six point behind Citeh and still;l have too face Citeh. I think Pool still has slim title hopes if they hold on to win
OH! Joiachim Andersen just wide from 25 yards out as Pool coughed up possession
Palace would actually be winning if it wasn't for missed sitters
I still can't believe that we lost to Newcastle yesterday. We would be in 13th if we'd beaten them.
I agree with you about the title race, David.
Free kick chance for the Gunners
Dwight McNeil fouls Saka about a foot outside the Burmnely box. A chance for the Gunners
We need this free kick to fly by Nick Pope right about now.
Klopp goes fishing as Minnie Minnow on for the Ox. a striker for a winger
Odegaard swings one just over the bar. Decent hit but it just didn't come down early enough.
OH! Nearly what the doc ordered as Bob smelled that free kick from Odor Guard that was inches over , clipping the top of the net
Media wants to somehow make up a race
Again, City keep rolling along and hardly shoot sometimes!
Of course, Bloody Pep said yesterday's performance was one of the best of the season...he is so full of crap and the everyone laps it up!
Emile Smith Rowes his way to a Gunners corner with a run down the left
Erik Martin Pieters heads the corner out for another
Oh - training pitch routine from the corner and Smith-Rowe hit it hard and low and it was cleared off.
I stand by that Pool has slim hopes and that Chelsea is basically out. Citeh still definite favorites
Arsenal with a second corner in a row.... in the first half...had one and took it short and the ball never went in the box
The fans weren't happy
5Live is ahead of USA too....why can't they be live!
Radio has to travel just as far as tv!!
So you both think that there is a race?
OH! Nice save by Nic Pope from a shot by emile Smith well Rowed off the corner
I'm going with Pool having very slim hopes if they win today. If they draw then it's over. Chelsea out.
Oh - Smith-Rowe again, this time with a shot blocked out for a corner. Arsenal have the bit between the teeth now.
Shot From Smoith Rowed in again and off a Burnley player for a corner
Arsenal finally showing some pressure...another wasted pathetic corner....are they United in disguise ?
Shot from Saka easily saved by Nick Pope. England's two best in form keepers in this match
Oh - great run by Smith-Rowe now, who laid it on a plate for Laca, who's just wide with his stabbed effort.
OH@! I missed that Gunners chance but a greta run by Smith-zrowe down the left off a chipped pass from Tierney. I missed that shot, but read in La Cazette that the Gunners missed a sitter, shooting wide with just Nick Pope to beat
Shadow is driving me nuts....he so wants to go on walk...hold out for 20 minutes!!
A stat that may be of interest. If Burnley hold on for a draw then the Rams record of fewest points in a season stays in tact with eleven. Would still be tied with the Rams for fewest top flight league wins in a season with one
Isn't it too cold out for a walkies?
Shadow must love the cold weather. Not sure if you do so much.
I wish!!
He's a husky!!!
The temp isn't that bad right now and the sun is out
I meant too cold for you!
That means nothing to him!!
We're meant to get something like 8-10 inches today - it's snowing right now. I'm going to get after it once the late match is over.
Sounds similar to hear . Started out chilly but almost above freezing with the sun out
Eddie Nketiah to the rescue.
WOW ! Fred Town should be changed to Snowdonia. Fortunately here no snow on the ground and none forecast this week as far as I know
Edfdfie on for Amioth-Rowe . A much needed attacking changer for the Gunners
We always get pounded with Lake Effect snow around this time of year - it's no big deal. My neighbor was out grilling the other day in between snowblowing!
A striker for a midfield player as Jordan Ayerw on for Will Hughes. Like for like as Beneteke on for Mateta. Palace now with three strikers on the pitch
Tierney wins yet another corner now - this one must fly in!
Ben White barged over there and Arsenal can swing a free kick over now.
That was an attacking change as Eze had come on for Odd Son Eddie earlier
Just eating some French Toast...lovely jubbly
Andy Robertson booked for a foul from behind on Connor Gallagher
That's a great breakfast , Dave! well done
Does your picture pause?
Brighton do what they do
Score late
Jay Rodriguez trudges off after doing precisely nothing today. Gudmonsson on for him.
A midfield player for a striker as Good Man Son on for J Rod
Hate them.
Nearly Desmond at Selhurst Park as Mike Olise beat the Pool. offside trap off a long ball from the back then nearly caught Alison off his line , chipping him, but the keeper back tracked and tipped it around the post
Burnley are doing what Burnley do to stay up year after year.
According to Bob that was Not Wellie done vy the Seagulls and an assist from Maupay
USA picking the only game with no goals....then put the big match on the Cock!!
VAR checking for a supposed claim for a Pool penalty. Shouldn't be as Jota ran into Guaita.
More VAR crap at Selhurst Park
Oh - Gabriel had a headed chance there but put it straight at Pope.
Bloody NBC putting big games on the Cock to make extra money. Poor form from NBC
Still going on and now sending Kevin Friend to the monitor. This was definitely;y not a penalty. The review should be well over by now
Eddie bursts through and wins a corner. Come on!
BLOODY HELL! How is that a penalty. Kevin Friend points to the spot. Jota had no chance of winning the ball. VAR getting it wrong yet again
I totally agree with you about NBC.
5Live thinks it is ridiculous decision
All Brighton at the King Power
Lennon dives in and Arsenal have a decent free kick chance now.
GOAL ! N IT A FAB VAR DECISION AS GUAITA IS SENT THE WRONG WAY WITH A WELL PLACED PENALTY TO GIVE POOL AN UNDESERVED 1-3 LEAD
Milner on for Bobby Chompoers to take a bite out of Palace's time
Suddenly Burnley broke and McNeill had a go with one just over the bar.
Half a dozen stoppage time min utes at Selhurst Park and a Barber Shop Quartet of those minutes at the EM
Arsenal fans starting to leave - poor form.
5Live thought the ref would actually not agree with the VAR ref after seeing it on the screen....but no...every time they go to the screen....it is overturned
Joe Ward booked for pushing down a Pool player
Apparently, Kasper made a worldie save off a Trossard shot
I agree with 5 Live. I never thought it was a penalty , but what you say about the refs after they look at the screen is correct more often than not
I'll have to give the Burnley backfour their due today - they've been steadfast with wave after wave of onslaught.
Useless attempt of a cross by Saka....straight into the defender standing in front of him
Can Arsenal do a United....looks no... Burnley break....comes to nothing
It is over.... good result for my lot...United still fourth but Arsenal still have a game in hand
It finishes 0-90 at the EM a she Gunners fail to make the top four. Burnley still bottom, but with several matches in hand
That's it - a good result for you lot but not for my Leeds. It means that Burnley move on to 12 points from 18. They're still rooted to the bottom but they've got those matches in hand.
USA off to the KP and it finishes 1-1 in basically a mid table battle
Went to KP and now SP
And that is it too
Liverpool notch another win and are just about staying in the title race.
Chelsea and Spurs are next at the top of the hour.
USA off to Slehurst and the COCK 50 seconds behind. That's ridiculous. It's over and Pool win 1-3 thanks to help from VAR
Burnley games in hand don't really mean that much
How many of those will they win...not many!! They've won ONE game so far
The team news for the late one:
Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, Sarr, Jorginho, Kovacic, Ziyech, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Lukaku
Subs: Bettinelli, Chalobah, Alonso, Kante, Barkley, Saul, Havertz, Pulisic, Werner
Tottenham: Lloris, Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Doherty, Hojbjerg, Winks, Sessegnon, Bergwijn, Kane
Subs: Gollini, Rodon, Reguilon, Royal, White, Skipp, Bryan, Lucas, Scarlett
I am for walkies
Have fun on walkies and stay warm
Back for the late match from SB. Hoping for a draw in that one. A return to SB for Conte where he returned unsuccessfully in the LC semis.
They're off from SB
First chance of the match his for Chelsea and the ball played wide right then the [pass mounted into the box shot over by about a Chunk
I'm big for the big one - I'm assuming that you're hoping for a home win, right?
I am back and tuning in the COCK.... USA has nothing else to show!!
Tottenham are in sixth and 8 points behind Chelsea.... WITH FOUR games in hand!!!
No one is talking about Spurs getting into Third!
If they win this, they would be 6 points behind with those four games in hand!
Maybe United and Arsenal should catch Chelsea
Ziyech wins an early corner for the Blues. Good noise coming from the SB faithful.
Yeah, USA are showing a re-run of the Time Allen sitcom.
Welcome back, Dave - did you freeze?
Welcome back , Bob and Dave. I'm hoping for a draw
I know they want prescriptions to Cock but those who would get it...already have it!!
Show the big matches on the telly as they are meant to.....fans will watch their clubs on the Cock
Back to back weekends of the match of the weekend is on-line
Oh - Thiago had a free header there from the corner but he couldn't get over it.
I survived...nose still a bit cold but it wasn't that bad
Agreed with Dave's reasoning. That's why I'm hoping for a draw
Subscription....yikes...I want meds
Looks like Harry Kane has had a haircut.
Glad you made it back safe and sound. Agreed with you about the Cock and needing to show the big matches on the telly
I got a prescription for you and that is...more cowbell?
What's that from, Dave?
LOL! I just got a text from the CVS in Texas asking if I want a refill. When they called me I told them to take me off the list
Lloris pouches away a shot from Ziyech that was curling and headed toward the corner. All Chelsea early doors
SNL
Go get it David!!
Spuds considered a Cup side. Haven't won the FA Cup in over thirty years and last won the LC fourteen years ago. That sounds like a history lesson
Harry Winks got free there but his shot was easily smothered by Kepa.
LOL!Dave! Nice one
Well done, mate - I knew you could do it!
Has Mike ever seen that sketch? If not, you should send him the link. It's hilarious - one of my SNL favorites.
Winks with a decent effort saved
In the AFCON, the minnows that have made the knockout stages...have no keeper for their game
Comoros have to use an outfield player in the goal against the host Cameroon. Their keeper was injured vs Ghana and their two reserved keepers have tested positive
I should
Dele Alli not in the match day squad....he has to be going out the door.
We are already 23 days into January....why do teams wait so long to make moves? They have had so many games in January that new signings could be of help
Not a nice challenge...of course...Arlo wants a red to ruin the whole match
Just give him a yellow at most!
VAR check for something now - it was merely a shove on the back from Docherty. I can't see that as a red.
Phew...no red
Saar is ztill down having his ankle rubbed.
He did step on his ankle too
VAR Saar checking for a possible red card for a stamp on the foot by Matt Doherty. Common sense prevails as it was at worst a booking
I think the spuds should sandwich Delle to SJP and sandwich him up there
Tanganga down as if knocked out in a boxing match. I think Mount barely touched him
Now Tanganga's got a problem, after having clattered into the advertising hoardings.
Tanganga back up when he saw e wasn't going to get anyone sent off
I agree, David - Mount didn't do much - but the Spurs players are whinging about it. Not a lot of football going on here.
So... speaking of the NFL
49ers into the final four and they will meet the winner of there Rams/Buccaneers
49ers.... owners have a deal in place to buy Leeds for a total price of 400 mil pounds
Rams...owner owns Arsenal
Bucs....ower owns United
All their NFL teams doing better than the PL teams!
I just noticed that the Championship won't be going on break during the international break. Just the Prem will.
I think Dele Alli should go to SJP
Sound slike a strong connection between the Prem and the NFL. Rather interesting
Did you guys see my NFL comment...I don't want you to miss it with us passing the 200 comment
I did notice that the League is still playing next week. Hopefully Plus will show a few games
