Saturday in the Prem and the Cup
Morning, chaps! I've had a lovely lie in and am joining you at half time of the early one; Spurs and Brighton are currently at 0-0. At 10 am, we've got United v. Norwich on USA and Arsenal v. Southampton and Brentford v. Watford on Peacock.
We've also got the FA Cup Semi Final matches on this weekend. They won't be talking about it on the USA panel but City v. Liverpool will go at it once again at 10:30 on ESPN+. Join me for the morning, won't you?

The second half has started at Shite Fart Lane. Here are the teams on display:
Tottenham Hotspur (3-4-3) Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Royal, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Reguilon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
Substitutes: Gollini, Sessegnon, Rodon, Lavinier, Sanchez, Winks, White, Bergwijn, Lucas.
Brighton (possible 4-1-4-1) Sanchez; Lamptey, Veltman, Dunk, Cucurella; Bissouma; Gross, Mwepu, Caicedo, Mac Allister; Trossard.
Substitutes: Steele, Offiah, Webster, Lallana, Ferguson, Sarmiento, March, Maupay, Welbeck.
One change at half time - Old Trafford old boy Danny Welbeck coming on for Mwepu who had been yellow carded in the first half.
Good Morning, Bob. Here to join you. I woke up midway through the first half and even Andy Townsend complained that there was too much passing. Took Trooper for walks then we each had our brekkies.
Seems you and Trooper both agree this is a snooze fest. I even mentioned that on FB
Bissouma called for a foul on Casino Royal just outside then Seagulls box
The Seagulls were on to the Spuds training ground routine of a short free kick and it came to naught
Three L1 matches being played to day and all at different times. Currently Rotherham vs Tractor Boys is currently 0-0. That would eliminate the Tractor Boys from the playoffs and would leave Rotherham third, two points outside an automatic promotion spot
Morning, David - great to have you on board. It looks like you've had a lovely walk in the neighborhood this morning.
Two Scots semis today. The one today is the Edinburgh Derby and tomorrow the Old Firm Derby. Hearts lead Hibs 2-1 with about fifteen minutes remaining. All the goals scored in the first quarter of the match
Yes. We had a good walkies after a rainy night . Still a tad wet outside. How are you mate?
Totally agree with Andy Townsend - not a lot going on in this one. But that suits all of the teams chasing Spurs for that final CL slot.
The other L1 matches deal with the promotion race too. Wigan vs Cambridge kicks off at 12:15 then an evil fixture kicks off at 2:45 as the Fake Dons host Not a bIg Club in a battle of super villains
Really good. We've got the guy who is redoing our deck coming by mid-morning to give us an estimate for the work.
Seagulls move into tenth place ahead ope their rivals Palace. A draw is not a bad result , but from a United point of view a Seagulls win would really help. Doesn't hurt Leeds as the Seagulls are basically safe
I remember some great times on the deck looking at the apple tree. Bet the deck will look spectacular
Lucas Moura replaces Dejan Kulusevski to try and improve Spurs' firepower. No shots on goal as of yet just after the hour mark.
We love our deck but the original work wasn't done right so some of the boards are buckling, as you might remember, and we've got some mold in certain areas, which shouldn't happen with composite boarding. We're looking forward to getting it done. It's one of the major house projects for the summer.
Kulesevski has been in great form for Spurs and has kept Lucas Moura out of the side. Lucas will want some Moura that playing time
I'm pleased you and Kate are getting the deck done. It's definitely a safety issue if not done properly. Glad you all are addressing that. Definitely sounds like a priority
A poor Spurs pass . Graham Harry Potter will want Moura of that from Lucas , who looked anything but a wizard with that pass
Not a lot of updates to reportIf that doesn't change I will have to resort to giving updates from the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League
Betancur off in the wink of an eye for Harry.
Harry Winks replaces Bettancourt now. Antonio Conte looking to break this resolute Brighton backline.
Graham Harry Potter will be feeling magical after forcing Spurs's two in form players to be substituted and keeping them scoreless after scoring two plus goals in the past half dozen matches
I'm hoping that we hear back from David Vansuch this week about the LOB Reunion. I'd love to see the old boys this summer.
This Seagulls look like characters from The Little Mermaid with that awful kit.
Potter seems to have put a Horcrux curse on the Tottenham front line today.
Oh - nice move by Hojberg to get to the by-line but his ball back just didn't reach Regulon.
A lovely bowl of oatmeal has arrived at my shoulder.
Before I forget, we're heading to Dayton, Ohio Wednesday to watch Melanie perform in the National Indoor Percussion Championships. will be there Wednesday through Sunday morning.Getting together David and Stef Thursday evening near the university. I can ask him about the reunion at that time.
The forgotten man Adam Lallana comes on for Cancedo.
Kate's comment: "Lallana! I haven't heard his name in ages!" That is true.
Sounds like a great brekkies. Is it still cold in WNY? It's been a mild week here
Allana has been injury prone , but played more the first half of the season
I heard that you might be having a mini-LHS reunion. Sounds great!
Cross from Lamptey headed well over by wellie who was wellie marked
Looking forward to it , mate. It's about a seven hour drive from our house
Lamptey down for the Seagulls. Must be time wasting or impersonating Dumbledorf
That's not too bad. Enjoy the trip!
Solly March on a tad late for Lamptey . It's already April
Thanks, Bob. This will be Trooper's first big trip
Header off a Seagulls corner dunked and easily caught by Lloris
This one is creeping toward an inevitable 0-0 draw, which will leave Spurs on 58 points from 32 matches. Arsenal are four points behind but have two matches in hand, including one against us.
Rotherham takes a late lead vs the Tractor Boys. Rotherham now second , ahead of the Fake Dons on goal difference.Fakes host Not a Big Club at 2:45
Dogs love a road trip; cats - not so much.
Hears have defeated rivals, Hibs, 2-1 in the first Scots Cup Semi and will face one of the Old Firm Clubs in the final.
Steven Bergwyn comes on for Son, who hasn't had his usual outing today.
That sounds about right, mate. I never met a cat that liked even a short car ride
Who do you fancy in the Cup Semi Final today?
All the Spurs players seem a tad off today. Not sure why, but not complaining
Oh my! Trossard has won it!
GOAL ! TROSAARD GIVES THE SEAGULLS A LATE LEAD
That pleases Yours Thruly as that keeps the race for fourth place alive. A quintet of stoppage time minutes
A bit scrappy in the build up with Danny Welbeck trying to break through. But when it came to Trossand, he jinked his way through and stabbed home with the outside of his boot.
That's a real body blow to Spurs.
0-1!
It started with a long free kick dunked down the left , then nice combo play between Lalana , Wellie , and Trossard and culminated with a nice pass from Lallana to Trossard
The answer to your question is that I think advantage Pool as Citeh had a tough grueling final at Athleti that may have exhausted them and Pep may rotate the line up.
This will be a great result for the Arsenal, who will be champing at the bit to get a result against the Saints.
Casino Royal booked for a foul on Trossard, who now stays down to run time off the clock
That is true - Atletico really kicked lumps out the likes of Phil Foden. He'll need a rest for sure.
That makes the North London Derby that much more important on Melanie's graduation day
This doesn't do anything for Brighton except for bragging rights. They're solidly midtable in tenth.
I'll be sitting back just watching the other relegation battlers playing for the next nine days. Leeds don't play again until Monday the 25.
It's over at SFL 2.0 as the Seagulls win 0-1 for their first away win vs Spurs since 1981
I guess JM will have a lot of time to work on tactics, iron out the kinks , and give players a much needed rest
FANTASTIC!!!
ONE DOWN.... THREE MORE RESULTS TO GO!
Morning boys
United still have hope
Morning, Dave - how are you, mate?
I'm doing well...I actually have a Spring Break feeling!!
No work next week!
Big anti-Glazer protest outside of OT today.
That'll be a nice break for you, eh?
So, I got one result right
Now I need a Saints, Red Devil victory.... sorry Steve
And for you....Let's go Bees
So stupid that the semi is starting at 1030 and not Noon. I guess it is for the fans to travel home!
Usually, the Prem don't care about the Cup and have games. Today, it is the opposite with today's semi
They have mentioned United but mostly it is all Arsenal talk taking advantage
They still play each other...still wide open
Dick's daughter is London this week. She'll be at West Ham/Burnley tomorrow
I told her that she had to learn "I Forever Blowing..." before she went
Good Morning Dave. Now we're all on board
Did you see fans not liking Jessie M's interview on Talksport
The press made it sound like he was dissing MB but he was just saying the players were tired
Morning David
In L1, one down and two to go as Rotherham defeated the Tractor Boys 1-0 . Tractor Boys eliminated from playoff contention while Rotherham second , ahead of the Fake Dons on goal difference, who play at 2:45
Good Morning, Dave. Someway somehow I'll be blowing bubbles tomorrow. Like you, I wish the cup semi would be played at a different time than the Prem matches
The team news out of Old Trafford.
Man Utd: De Gea, Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles, Pogba, Lingard, Fernandes, Sancho, Elanga, Ronaldo.
Subs: Henderson, Bailly, Jones, Wan-Bissaka, Matic, Mata, Rashford, Mejbri, Garnacho.
Norwich: Krul, Byram, Gibson, Hanley, Giannoulis, McLean, Normann, Dowell, Lees-Melou, Rashica, Pukki.
Subs: Gunn, Aarons, Zimmermann, Tzolis, Sorensen, Gilmour, Rowe, Placheta, Rupp.
I heard that Bob and Kate like to spray raid on Hornets nests . Is that true?
I second that. Sorry, Steve, but we need a Saints win. IS that wishful thinking?
Teams coming out at Old Trafford
I'm tuning in the Semi on the computer. Wish I could watch it on the telly.
I wish ESPN would show the Final on TV and not on-line
LET'S GO PALACE!!!
I guess the anti Glazer protests are due to the fact that the Canaries uniform is almost identical to the Newton Heath uniform. I think the protests are usually when the Canaries play at OT
Is there any build up to the Semi?
It says even about to start
Totally agree with you, mate - why didn't they schedule it for a tea time kickoff?
I'll be watching the United v. Norwich match and will turn over to the Cup match during half time and at the end.
Palace? They play at Wembley tomorrow
I'll bet that the Plus has their usual 10 minute preview from 10:20 onward.
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
START FAST
I bet Lingard wishes he was still a Hammer and be in a European semi!
We are off at OT and the Cup Link has started
Protesters planning to march in en masse at 3:17 (that is, 10:17 am for us). That'll be interesting to watch.
Come on, United!
United need to attack and attack and attack
I will be watching the match from OT on USA then at 10:30 will watch the Cup semi on ROKU TV and the OT match on the IMAC
For the 17 years of Glazer ownership
They did win a lot in the last decade
They have spent money
COME ON MANB UN ITED!STUFF THOSE CANARIES
Come on United...get the ball in the box
Already.....too slow
I don't care about possession!!
Would there be protests if a non Amrican had the same exact record? Just wonder
Sancho...useless cross
Good point about Lindy. If the Hammers win the EL and he had signed he would be in the CL next season
STRUTH... Norwich almost in!!
De Gea with a nice save
Oh - early scare for United as Pukki nearly got onto that ball. De Gea did really well in a sweeper role.
OH! Pukki put t through and good close range reflex save by De Gea
Too much passing followed by awful cross!!
Useless cross from Bruno easily headed away by Grant the Hanley one
Elanga with an overhead kick...weak effort
Should have laid it back
Bicycle kick from Elnga straight to Timmy the Krul one
What is the best result in the Semi that will stop the Treble/Quadruple quests
Pep dressed like a bum for Cup
A question for Bob and Dave. The Conference League semi , Foxes vs Roma is the Brodge vs Jose? No love lost between those two..Who would have thought that they would meet this season?
Of course - he thinks he's "fashionable." I'd fine him.
A Citeh win stops a quadruple quest , so I guess that is the best result
Come on United...get an early goal
Decent save by Timmy the Krul one from CR 7
I'm sure that Jose thought he was escaping the likes of Brodge when he left for Serie A. Ha ha ha!
YES!!!!
Elanga passes it to Ronaldo...ONE NIL!!!
Nice gift!!
NOW SCORE MORE!!!!
WAY HAY ! CR 7 GIVES UNITED THE LEAD
Wahay! Ronny with the early goal, just as the doctor ordered.
1-0!
So ridiculous inside your box!!
MORONIC....Keep it up
All the fans outside...missed a goal!
Serves them right
As I said...SCORE MORE
Elanga picked Gibson's pocket and laid it on for CR-17 who could hardly have missed. Let's have some more, lads!
Gibby should be named Gimme as he head his pocket panicked by Elanga and he passed to CR 7 for an easy goal
Agreed with all three of Dave's comments
Dean Smith is contemplating life in the Championship now. Or will Delia bring in someone new over the summer?
Now we need a couple more goals by Devils, Saints and Bees
Gibby changed to Gimme.
BOOM BOOM!
OH! Just wide by Lindy off a nice United possession
this is better from United
Lingard with a shot...wide...it was deflected but the ref didn't see it
Those results would be nice , Dave
Of course....United will hang on to a one goal lead and then concede
I'm loving the end to end nature of this match. Norwich trying to play the Bielsa way.
Again, apologies to Steve but...
Sad fact stated there...only fourth time scoring inside the fist 15 minutes
SO SAD
Brodge vs Jose is interesting because Brodge managed Chelsea's reserve team during Jose's first spell at Chelsea and the two had some sort of falling out that has never been resolved. Also Tammy Abraham has had an excellent season with Roma
Rashical wins a Canaries corner after some Dilly Dalot
Agreed with Dave that the protesters are idiots who deserve to miss the goal and in reality don't care about MUFC
Oh - Ronny nearly picked Gibson's pocket there. United playing on the break at this point.
Saints fans wince as they almost fall behind inside 10 minutes. Thankfully, Forster is on hand to keep out Martinelli’s strike.
As long as United score four...I'm ok with Norwich attacking
So, was that a counter protest a moment ago with the fans inside standing up and clapping?
Love to see 5 out of the 6 European Finalist being British
It is crazy how Lingard and Dele Alli have fallen.... World Cup Semi Final starters
Wahay! Brentford have taken the lead in the Stingy Derby with Watford. Norgaard with the goal.
Or were they clapping in the protestors?
Agreed, Dave. Cl would be a repeat of today's semi and Hammers vs Rangers. The Foxes in the CL. Will Palace win tomorrow to keep the bizarre scenario alive
Brentford leading!
3 out of the 4 results going our way so Farr
That's great news. I heard Kate got an assist for spraying raid on the Hornets nest
Here come the protesters now....
The idiots make their way into the stadium . They are United supporters in name only
I stated earlier that I think Pool will win because Citeh had an exhausting match in midweek. More so than Pool did
It is crazy - I thought that Dele might revitalize his career at Everton but he can't even get into their sorry side.
Show Nicol's three Cup wins
Let's show Burely's back pass to Beckham in a semi!
Come on United....score more!!
Sancho with a shot.... well wide
That goal leaves Watford on 23 points now from 32 matches, eleven points behind us. I don't think either Watford or Norwich can catch us now.
United now sixth , a point behind the Gunners
I will be getting up with Van Such and Stef Thursday in Dayton, Ohio. We will be there Wednesday evening through Sun day morning because Melanie will be performing in the National In door Percussion Championships.
Finally, Bob thinks two are down
That's great. I was wondering what you were doing up in Ohio
I we can all see each other at Vansuch's place
That sounds like a really good time. I really hope that all of us can meet again this summer at David Vansuch's. I submitted my dates last week and am looking forward to seeing what David proposes for us.
Teams coming out at Wembley
Shakespeare talking to Smith. What play does that symbolize?
To be fair, I haven't been worried about those bottom two sides for a while. It's Burnley and Everton that have made me nervous. They both still have two matches in hand on us. If they start winning while we're on break, the jitters will set in again.
Agreed. It will be interesting to see what the results of the Summer Reunion are
Liverpool haven't won the Cup since '06
Haven't been in a Final since '12
Sounds a bit "As You Like It" to me, mate.
I guess I want City to win the League
Liverpool win both Cups
Looking forward to the trip to Ohio. Don't think I'll see Jopel . He's two hours away from Dayton
Norwich still giving it a go, all due respect to them. I wouldn't put it past them to win the Championship again next season.
Come on United....start attacking again!
Bloody TT on my computer
Same old United....not adding to a goal
Bob, Does the Dyche sacking hurt tor help you? In terms of Ben Mee, he has nota managerial experience. Neither Mee nor he is really qualified
I hope David can track down Joel. Haven't seen him since Dave's wedding back in 1990.
TAKE SHOTS!
Bruno trying to dribble too much
Sounds about right with the Canaries, Bob. Dean Smith should do well with them next season
I've spoken to him often. He always calls me on my birthday
He also called me about Tony
Can't believe it will be a year next weekend!
United keep Norwich in this
I miss the semis at other stadiums
There are some great stadiums that could host a semi!
They're off from Wembley. Why was there so much booing?
Off at Wembley
Lingard with an nice effort
He should be playing more
TT already yapping too much
I was really shocked by the Sean Dyche sacking, as I thought that Burnley still had an outside chance. Teams that sack their managers in the midst of a relegation battle usually go down.
Also surprised by the Ben Mee elevation. He's been a stalwart for the Clarets but, as you say, he's got no experience. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other lower half sides are interested in Mee and Tarkowski if they go down.
Wahay! Ronny again! 2-0!
YES!!!
TWO NIL!!!
RONALDO WITH HIS SECOND!!!
Another goal from a corner!!!!
Simple corner routine there; really poor marking from the Canaries.
United need to keep scoring goal....they are now level with Arsenal in the GD column
Don't think that anyone will be interested in any of these Norwich players; they're strictly Championship level.
Grealish with a chance in the box...took a second touch
BUGGER! I missed the second goal. Tried to watch the Prep match on the computer. Now both matches on with the cup match on the computer
Free kick chance for the Canaries...slips....wide
Keep it going
COME ON UNITED SCORE A COUPLE MORE BEFORE HALF
I need United to keep scoring. I want Norwich to be the worst defense in the league, not us. They've conceded 65 now and we've conceded 68.
I must have been a few seconds late when swapping out the matches
TT mispronounces Keita . He said Kate Tah!
I wouldn't mind us scoring a few more . That would start protests among Canaries fans
Sad thing about the Cup. The Final is on May 14. The penultimate weekend of the Prem....the winner of this one will not take it as seriously as they should if the League is still up for grabs
Liverpool would miss a match at St Mary's
City would miss a match at the Olympic Stadium
