Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good Morning, Bob . Here to join you for Sunday footie
Toon vs Foxes on USA and Hammers vs Burnley oin the Cock
Mike Jackson , who was coaching the under 23s now interim manager of Burnley. Up against Davie Moyes who was his manager when he played for PNE
Their off from SJP and the London Stadium
Amarty booked for a cynical trip on Almiron, who was on an attacking run
Free kick by Shelvey comfortably saved by Kasper
Toon player down after his goalkeeper, Dubravka rushed out of the box to clear and cleared out his own player too. Looks like Dan was Burned by him
Morning, chaps - of course I'm blowing bubbles today, as one more loss for Burnley inches us closer to survival.
Hiya, David - great to have you on board.
I'm just back with the classic LOB Sunday brekkies - a bagel and cuppa.
Jack booked for uncorking Lanzini
Thanks, Bob. Great to join you. Sounds like a good brekkies. Elizabeth boiled some eggs today for Easter
Matty Lowton heads out a cross from Antonio for a Hammers corner
Bpowen with a shot blocked off the corner then his rebound tipped over by Nick Pope
Great save by Nick Pope - he's keeping Burnley in this one.
That sounds like an Easter treat, mate.
Toon long throw cleared then a cross in the box blasted over by Joe Linton from close range
Definitely so, mate. Wondering if the Hammers exhausting match on Thursday may affect them
I think Mike Jackson is Burnley's manager for this match only. Supposedly there will be an interim manager for the remainder of the season.
OH! Cracking volley from Aaron Cresswell cleared off the line by Tark
Loads of pressure on the Burnley back line at this one. Cresswell thunders one home but it's chalked off for a push on Pope.
AN American group took over Burnley in January and supposedly their vision is different than Dyche's . I think they want more foreign players and Dyche wants primarily British players
GOAL! ADE LOOKMAN GIVES THE FOXES THE LEAD
Short coorner back heeled by Ayoze and Lookman hit it first time and Dubravka got a hand to it and really should have done better
Foxes up to ninth place with that lead
Ashley Westwood down for Burnley off a challenge from Vlasic. The Croatian player down , knowing Westwood is injured, but didn't initially look a bad challenge
Vlasic in tears as he didn't mean to injure Westwood
Looking at the replay it may have been the landing as much as the challenge
Nasty injury clash now - Vlasic and one of the Burnley players. The little cart has been brought on to take Westwood off. It looks really bad.
St. Max leads a Toon counter and a superb last ditch slide tackle from Dewsbury-Hall prevents an almost certain equalizer
Now the announcer says there may be an injury in the crowd too
It didn't look a poor challenge . I think Westwood's ankle buckled
The Leicester goal definitely works for us. As I was mentioning, I'd like Leeds to finish in 15th above Newcastle.
Toon win a corner off of head tennis in the Foxes box
Nice ovation for Ashley Weetwood now as he's taken off on the cart.
Standing ovation for Westwood as he's stretchered off
I agree, mate - I don't think you can really fault Nikola Vlasic.
GOAL ! TOON TIE IT WITH A SCRAPPY GOAL OFF THE CORNER . VAR CHECKING FOR A POSSIBLE FOUL ON Kasper I TOUGHT IT LOKKED A FAIR GOAl
Yes, that was sporting from the Hammers fans.
The Ausiie ref going to the monitor to check
Come on, VAR - do us a favor!
I think the goal will stand. Its does Bruno Guimares with the equalizer
GOAL! WOUT ABOUT THAT. CORNER FROM MAX CORONET HEADED OFF THE BAR BY J ROD AND WEGHORST EASILY TAPPED IN THE REBOUND
Bloody hell - after all of that, Burnley have scrambled in a goal. Weghorst with a header after the ball had hit the bar with his initial header.
West Ham seem really rattled by that goal. They lost to Brentford last weekend, but a loss here again would be catastrophic for their European interests.
Back to the Toon goal . It was off their first corner of the match. Taken by Shelvey and headed on then a close range block by Kasper from Guimares then the Brazilian , on his bum put the rebound through Kasper's legs as the keeper was trying to gather the rebound
Hammers only hope of interest would be to win the EL outright which would put them in the CL.
An all Old Firm Cup semi is 0-0 at the half . The winner plays the Queen of Hearts in the final
Hammers currently in seventh place , three points behind United and the Gunners . Seventh place may be good enough for the Conference League, but Europe still wide open for them. If the win the EL then they qualify for the CL, which may be their best hope.
Burnley still in the drop zone, a point behind the Toffees. Leeds now half a dozen points clear
Sorry, mate. Not a good couple of minutes defending corners. Still plenty of time in both matches
Ben Johnson heads out a cross from Dwight McNeill for a Burnley corner
Soucek heads away the corner
The Toon goal scorer down injured . Joe Willock warming up in case the Brazilian cannot continue
Moyes the Scot with words for Scotty , the fourth official
Nice run and pass from Jarred Bowen and then Antonio makes a 180 degree turn and has a shot blocked by Nathan Collins for a Hammers corner
PENALTY BURNLEY AS THEY COUNTER OFF A HAMMERS CORNER .BEN JOHNSON CAUGHT OUT BY THE LONG BALL AND CORONET OFF TO THE RACES. THEN FOULED IN THE BOX BY FLAPPY
Bloody hell - now Burnley have a penalty!
I'm not sure that Flappy touched Cornet there. That seemed like a dive to me.
Come on, Flappy!
Oh - he's missed it - lovely jubbly!
WAY HAY! THE CORONET WITH MUSIOC TO BOB'S EARS AS HE SHOTOS THE PENALTY WIDE ATER TAKING WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS A CUTE STUTTER STEP
Into Bob's naughty nine minutes of stoppage time
Now Antonio down for the Hammers, an injury they can ill afford
Now Antonio has gone down under a challenge. This match has really been disjointed.
Into a quintet of stoppage time minutes at SJP
There will be double figures of stoppage time after this stoppage
Perhaps the spot kick miss will be the break the Hammers need. Moyes will not mince his words at the half
Just a rem under that Moyes's last match for United was on Easter Day at the Toffees, of all teams
It's 1-1 at the half at SJP
Burnley one up at the half . Moyes Boyz will see him rattling some teapots
Not at all happy with this half-time scoreline then. A Burnley win would put them six points back from us and with a mid-week match with Soton in hand.
Back on for the second half now at Upton Park. Come on, you Hammers!
Back from a refreshing shower for the second half. No change in thew scores
Oh - close call there as Lanzini clips one up to Soucek on the backpost.
Celtic one up vs Rangers in the Scots Cup Semi with about a quarter of an hour remaining,. The winner faces the Ace of Hearts in the final
Lookman with a clever turn then a blocked shot then Dewsbury-Hall with a shot blocked for a Foxes corner
Lookman wins another Foxes corner
Who's doing better in the Scots Premiership this season?
Ambitious long range shot from the Coronet wide and never troubling Flappy
Cornet has a go from distance. Poor effort.
Celtic half a dozen points clear of Rangers with five matches remaining
Cross from Ben Johnson headed wide by Antonio and Soucek just couldn't redirect it
Oh - nice ball over but Antonio nodded back toward Bowen rather than going for goal, for some reason.
The Fourth President on for Ayoze
Long range header from Antonio bounces off the ground and straight to Nick Pope
Old Trafford old boy Carlos Tevez in attendance today.
Former Burnley player, Scott Arfield ties it up in the Scots Cup semi. Kemar Roofe with the assist. He learned that at LUFC. Right, mate?
Interesting - I suppose that Rangers are still suffering from having lost Stevie G.
I'd love a bit of Kemar Roofe right now - he was a big loss for us.
West Ham definitely knocking on the door now - I suppose that Moyesy gave them a bit of a bollocking in the dressing room at half time. Come on!
OH! Free kick from Aaron Cresswell headed wide by Declan Rice . Should have done better
Like for like as Connor Roberts on for Matty Lowton
Oh - Rice should have put that one on target. Come on!
Nathan Collins tackles Declan roce for a Hammers corner
Agreed, Bob. Former Gunner, Gio Van Bronckhorst now managing Rangers. They have suffered in the league hut has them in two cup semis.. I guess it's a combo of the cup runs and the loss of Stevie G to blame for the offseason in the league
Oh - Jay Rod had a big chance there with his left peg. Should have slotted it home.
If Rice doesn't improve then he can watch the world Cup with Max with Rice playing the Qatar and Max playing the Coronet
Ben Rama pickled on for Vlasic
Vlasic comes off to be replaced by Benrahma. A bit of a pickle for him, eh?
One of the Murphy twins on for Almiron
I reckon that Benrahma has a bit more guile in front of goal than the Pickle Man.
Absolutely mate. The Hammers are in a pickle at the moment
What's this, now? Weghorst and Rice with a ruck.
I agree with that. I think the cup run is affecting the Hammers who have one of the smaller squads in the Prem
Oh - nice ball in from Bowen but Soucek just couldn't reach it.
Connor Roberts heads out for a Hammers corner
Burnley parking the bus at this point. They're twenty minutes from a precious win.
Naught by Coronet on Antonio. A striker's challenge
Free kick now for West Ham - this one must go in!
WAY HAY! SOUCEK DIVERTS IN THE FREE KICK FROM LNAZINI TO TIE IT UP
Yes! Soucek powers in the header - his fifth of the season!
1-1!
Like for like as Ihenacho on for Daka
Leeds now eight points clear of the drop zone . Hammers stills seventh, a pair of points behind United and the Gunners
Now Burnley has a corner. Mark em' up
I can live with a draw here, which would help United. That would put Burnley back down to 25 points, eight points behind Leeds with just that one match in hand with the Saints.
Hammers countered off the corner and after ping pong in the Burnley box it bounced into Pope's arms
Agreed. A draw is a good result for us as well
Connor Roberts slides in to win corner off of Aaron Cresswell
Hammers not with convincing defending off the corner. More of a flap from flappy then not well cleared then just wide by Max Coronet
Oh - chance for Burnley now - Tarkowski nearly bundled one in. This one could go either way.
That Cornet penalty miss is looking really costly now.
Lanzini gets the hook from Moyesy.
An attacking change by Mike Jackson as Matty Vudra on for Dwight McNeill and like for like by Moyes as Pablo Fornals on for Lanzini
You must be enjoying that penalty miss. That Coronet miss is music to your ears
It's 1-1 in both Prem matches and in the Old Firm Cup semi that's now in ET
I think you lot have a real chance now, with Arsenal and Spurs in erratic form. West Ham will be out of it if they drop points here.
Absolutely - it's worth two points right now and could very well relegate them. If they were to lose against the Saints in midweek then I'd start to breathe a bit easier.
Burnley host Saints on Thursday. I will ben in Ohio. Not sure if you can count on Saints for help. They're unreliable
It's a tough week for us. Pool at Anfield on Tuesday and the Gunners at the EM in the early match on Saturday. This week is a crucial week in our season
Oh - the ball fell to Benrahma in a great position, but he didn't get the curler right.
Toon currently on 35 points . Probably a pointy from safety
Coronet off by an octave or two today.
BOOM BOOM!
I know - that's what worries me. Everton have some matches to make up in mid-week as well, so things could tighten up a bit.
Yeah - that's what I reckon. Newcastle are safe now.
OH! Just over by Antonio. Did Pope tip it over?
A Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes at SJP and a rare appearance by Dwight Crystal Gayle as he's on for St. Max
Two big matches coming up for your lot at Anfield on Tuesday and the Em at the weekend. You'll have to have Ronny at his best.
OH! Brilliant save by Pope off a header from Antonio off a cross from Fornals
Oh - great save from Nick Pope to save Burnley's bacon. He'll surely be picked up by a Premier League club if they drop.
If we play like we did yesterday we'll lose both matches. I know Dave will feel the same.
Oh - Antonio was in there but Nick Pope came up trumps once again.
Cross from Ben rama headed out for a Hammers corner
I don't know - Arsenal are in a real slump right now.
In to stoppage time as Popoe misses the corner but Dark heads out for a another Hammers corner
GOAL! TOON WIN IT LATE . NOW 2-1.
Stoppage time nearly up now. Shame.
That's them totally safe then.
The Top countered as they cleared deep in their own alf and it found Joie Wilock wide lefty who went on a long run then his deflected cross that was scored by a diving header from Guimares for his and Toon's second to give the Toon a 2-1 lead
It's over as the Toon win 2-1 and are safe on 37 points
It finishes 1-1 at the London Stadium . A draw a decent result for all of us. Leeds eight points clear of the drop zone and Burnley three points from safety.Hammers seventh, a pair of points behind United and the Gunners
That's it - Burnley have picked up a point, but they were in pole position to pick up a precious win. It keeps them three points from Everton and eight points from Leeds.
I'm off for a quick shower and will join the Cup Semi a bit late.
Next is Chelsea vs Palace in the other Cup semi from Wembley kicking off in about a quarter of an hour
Cheers, Bob. Enjoy
Still 1-1 in the Old Firm Cup semi in the second half of ET
I just turned on Plus for coverage of the Cup semis
Now talk of the quadruple. Not pleased to hear that
Connor Gallagher not available as he's on loan from Chelsea, so he's replaced by Jasmers MacArthur, who captains the side today. Jack Butland a surprise starter for Palace in goal while Guaita is on the bench
They're off from Wembley .
COME ON PALACE!
Rangers take a 2-1 lead late in ET thanks to an OG in the Scots Cup semi
It's over in the Old Firm Scots Cup Semi and Rangers with a come from behind 2-1 win in ET and will face the Ace of Hearts in the final
Werner wins a corner off of General MacArthur
I'm back from a refreshing Sunday shower to enjoy this Cup Semi-Final. How's it been so far?
Kovacic seems to have a problem; might have to come off.
A Cheeky substitution for Tommy T, with Kovacic struggling off.
Kovacic down for Chelsea and a Tongue N Cheek substitution as he goes off injured
Welcome back, Bob. It's been a really dull first half so far. You didn't really miss anything
Hi Boys
Just back from church
The temperamental teuton losing his temper on the touchline
Good Afternoon, Dave. Great to have you on board.
Happy Easter
Not exactly a Tongue N Cheek corner as Palace counter off the Chelsea corner
Happy Easter to everyone
I don't think either team has yet to record a shot on target
Come on Teams....it's Cup Semi Final
It's so slow
Hiya, Dave - how are you, mate?
It's been like this the entire first half
Im ok
Glad the Hammers got a goal
Dick's daughter was there...I wanted her to celebrate a goal
This has been a really rubbish semi so far. I'm off to help Kate with lunch prep. Back in a tick.
Reese James brings down Mitchell for a Palace free kick
Sorry it wasn't exactly a classic match for Dick's daughter to watch. At least the Hammers came back ot draw and she must have been amused at the missed penalty
Nice save by Mendy then the rebound from Andersen off the post in an offside position. The first save of the entire match
Haveritz goes for a dive....RUBBISH
WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!
Kai the Guy booked for a dive . Disgraceful attempt to win a penalty
Agreed. really stupid attempt to win a penalty
It's BLOODY SNOWING HERE
We had a bit of snow overnight here, too.
I hate the way both teams are playing this!
HT....RUBBISH
it's 0-0 at the half . Hoping for more excitement in the second half
WOW! it's mild and partly sunny here. Currently in the 60s.
Back from lunch on the deck and 0-0 a couple of minutes into the second half
The match at Selhurst Park in February was similar with Chelsea winning 0-1 with a goal in the 89th minute. This match looks fairly similar
I'm back from lunch as well. I've got a Cadbury Creme Egg for afters, my idea of an Easter celebration.
I do not know why Tommy Tuchel doesn't play Romelu Lukaku. He's surely one of the best strikers in the world! And of course he was my pick for Golden Boot this year.
Nice close reflex block by Jack Butland from Werner off a Tongue n' Cheek through ball. Werner actually missed his kick
That's a great lunch on a chilly Easter for you.I haven't had a creme egg for a while.
The Chunk has had a tough season and lost his scoring touvch which I guess irks the tempremental Teuton
First change for Palace - Jordan Ayew about to come off, probably for Mateta.
Well, Chelsea play boring tiki taka stuff rather than free flowing football that The Chunk relies on.
