Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Qatar 2022 - Group C Preview

Hiya, chaps - I'm onto Group C today, another fairly competitive group at Qatar 2022.

Prospects: Group C is dominated by Argentina, a traditional power with two World Cups under their belts. Coming out of their Copa America win last year on Brazilian turf, the Albiceleste should be fairly confident of not only getting out of this group relatively unscathed but also reaching the latter stages. This will be Lionel Messi's last chance to make a big impression at a World Cup. Things will get interesting in Group C when it comes to the teams vying for second place, most likely Mexico and Poland.

One to Watch: Charlotte F.C. forward Karol Swiderksi often exists in the background of his more accomplished strike partner Robert Lewandowski, but this could be his chance to light it up on the big stage.

Most Likely to see Red: At 34, Argentina defender Nicolas Otamendi has lost a step or two.

Most Likely to Attempt a "Panenka:" It has to be Leo Messi, of course.

Worst Haircut in the Group: Mexico forward Roberto Alvarado favors an unfortunate parrothead look.

Key Match: November 22 - Mexico v. Poland (11am EST)

Blue Devil's Crystal Ball Says: Don't cry for me, Leo Messi....
